MacBook will not turn on at all

Alright, so last night,m my computer was having some keyboard malfunctions. I cleaned under the keys and got it to more or less work. I posted a topic here to fix the remaining issues, turned the computer off for the night and went to sleep, hoping to in the morning have a solution of some sort.
Instead, now I have more serious issues. The computer won't turn on. The magsafe light turns on and the battery lights up, but the computer doesn't respond at all, no sounds from inside, nothing lights up, it's just dead. I'm at a loss as to what to do with it. Any ideas? It's well out of warranty.
Thanks.

  • Macbook will not turn on. I"ve tried all recommended troubleshooting steps.

Early today, my macbook froze up. This has happened before and I did not think much of it, so I did like always and held down the power button until it shut off. Then I tried restarting it. At the start up screen where it asks for my password, I could not type it in because the screen was still frozen. I tried again to restart it and now it will not turn on at all! It does not make any sounds as though it is attempting to start or anything of that sort. Nothing happens when I try holding the power button. I've tried holding it down for 10 seconds, disconnecting the power cord, disconnecting the battery and holding the power button for 5 seconds, and I've tried holding the command, control, and power buttons down together. Is there anything else I can try to get it to start, or should I just make a genius bar appointment? I've had problems with this macbook before--including a hard drive crash and a kernal panic. Not sure if those might have anything to do with this issue.
    I'm frustrated!
    Thanks for any tips.

You are going to need to get that looked at. You got a battery or logic board issue going on there.

See if your Mac will boot from the install DVD.
    Then uninstall Internet Cleanup.

  • I have an iPhone 4 that i was trying to fix and now it will not turn on at all is there anyway that i can access all my pictures and contacts from my new phone or pc? It is also on the same apple id, but i dont know if that would help with anything.

I have an iPhone 4 thats i was trying to fix and now it will not turn on at all is there anyway that i can access my pictures and contacts from my new phone or pc? Aslo the are both on the same apple id but i dont know if that would help or not.

Contacts are designed to be synced to a supported application on the computer or a cloud service.
Pictures taken with the device are designed to regularly be copied off the device to a computer as would be done with any digital camera.
If you have failed to use the device as designed it may be too late to recovery anything.
Is the device regularly backed up to a computer via iTunes?  If so, the most recent backup (when restored to a replacement iOS device) should contain all contacts and pictures as of when the backup was created.

My 160GB ipod classic stopped whilst playing music and will not turn back on despite having almost a full battery. I have tried connecting to itunes and a docking station but will not turn on at all - HELP?!
I've had this from new for 2 years, the battery life is excellent and lasts for days so I know it's not a power issue as it was fully charged that morning. No signs of connection in itunes, it's not showing as a connected device.
    Can anyone please help?

Try this step and if you cannot get your device into recovery mode there is a chance you have a hardware failure and you need to call apple to see what service options you have.

  • TS1363 My ipod will not turn on at all.  When I connect it to the laptop by the USB, it does not recognize it at all.  What could possibly be the problem?  The Nano was working like 30 minutes ago.

About 30 minutes ago, I was adding some music to the ipod Nano.  Everything was working fine.  Now, the ipod will not turn on at all.  When I connect it to the laptop with the USB, the computer does not even recognize it.  The screen has a fant image of the plug on it and it says connected.  I followed the procedures for disconnecting it when I was finished with it earlier.  Any idea what is going on here???
    Thanks

It probably needs to be reset. The procedure is different for different Nano models: http://www.apple.com/support/ipodnano/assistant/itunes/

  • My ibook g4 will not turn on at all.

My ibook g4 will not turn on at all the story is: I had it on and with it plugged into the outlet but i had to charge my nano so i unplugged it the computer turn off and the battery was at "100%"  and it was inserted in the battery port so i had to take the battery out and left the power adapter on the ibook with it plugged in but it still will not turn and now i removed the adapter from the computer and i put the battery back in and pressed the power on button and it wouldn't still turn on please help!

Does any lights show on the power adapter?
When you press the button on the battery, does that indicate any charge?
When you press the power button, do you hear anything from the iBook, does the screen flicker a second or the hard drive spin?
Have you tried your iBook using another power outlet in your house?
Have tried resetting the PMU? (I am assuming you would have)

  • My ipod touch is completely unresponsive.  Will not turn on at all even when connected to power???? HELP!!!

ipod touch completely unresponsive.  will not turn on at all even when connected to power source.  is it dead????

After charging for at least an hour reset the iPod:
Reset iPod touch:  Press and hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button and the Home
button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Next connect the iPod to your computer and see if iTunes sees the iPod.  If it does try restoring the iPod via iTunes.  If it is not visible try the following to make it visible:
--- Place it in recovery mode via:
iPhone and iPod touch: Unable to update or restore
    --- Place in DFU mode:

    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try on another computer
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

I have a n IPhone 4S.  I upgraded to IOS7 and then tried tp go back to my prevous IOS and now my phone will not turn on at all.

I tried to do the same, but couldn't find ios 6. I even tried  the APPstore, to download the last IOS6 version.
The most problem is the running out of the battery.
I've checked each app who is "eating" the most power.
The battery stoped runaway, when I closed the weather service....
So for now, I will use regular internet service, and probbaly will do to more app.
Until, finaly, I will find my self with all the applications closed....:-)
That will be the sign, to replace my phone to anderoid....:-)
Till now, there is no any sign from Apple to have a glance to our complanes.

  • HT4061 My screen will not turn on at all. But i can still hear sounds from when i would hit the home button. How could i get my iPhone to turn on?

The screen to my phone will not turn on at all. I could hear the sound it makes when I do press on the home button. But the screen is not and will not respond and turn on. I plugged it in the charger to see if it'll do anything, but that didnt do anything. So I plugged it in the charger to my computer and even that didnt help with the situation. So how can I get my screen to turn on?

See Here for  >  Frozen or unresponsive iPhone
    Try this First...
Press and Hold the Sleep/Wake Button and the Home Button at the Same Time...
Wait for the Apple logo to Appear...
Usually takes about 15 - 20 Seconds... ( But can take Longer...)
    Release the Buttons...
