MacBook with Black Screen
I have a MacBook 2 Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo which I upgraded from Snow Leopard to Lion. Within a day, I experienced the Black Screen. The MacBook is still funtioning as it is fully visible through Screen Sharing on my iMac.
I have reverted my software back to Snow Leopard Version 10.6.3 to see if this would resolve the issue.
Help!
I'm dealing with this problem for a week now. Fact is, I could when I got my Mac do the partition using Boot Camp and install Vista. But last week I got an error message that windows can't find the ntoskrnl.exe (or that's defect). I couldn't start windows from the CD, I couldn't start it from another windows CD, nothing worked. Since I didn't have that many data on windows I decided to delete the partition and start from scratch using Boot camp. So far I tried to reboot probably 100 times trying out everything I found on all forums.
Using Disk Utility to check HD, run repairs, even erased everything on the new boot camp partition. That all works fine. But as soon as I restart from the CD to start the Windows installer I get a black screen.
Unplugging power cords for 30 seconds: no success
Holding down ALT/Option key: no success
taking the battery out: no success
running the FreeDos: no success (didn't start running the CD)
The solutions 1 and 2 suggested by LukeD: no success.
I'm pretty upset and lost right now. I do need a windows for running a learning software that wouldn't work on Mac. Now I'm trying to fix my Mac and I'm not able to learn anything at all.
Any suggestions?

Installation on Macbook with black screen problems
Hi, Having a hard time installing BootCamp on a Macbook 2007 model..
It would go to the point when it is restarting from the XP disk to install and show a black screen.
I have tried everything I have read.
remove battery.
reset pram
do disk utilities off of Leopard Disk...
The machine is running 10.5.6
But the kicker is that it would install Vista fine from two different installation cd's but I have tried XP SP2 from at least four different cd's and would have the problem.
Anyone have any idea why it would install Vista (both home and business edition) fine but not XP SP2?
thanks

Macbook pro-Freezes with black screen at start up.
Macbook pro-Freezes with black screen at start up. I've tried inserting the Mac OS X install disc to run the hardware test(Restart and hold down D), But it still does nothing. Just the black screen. Now I can't get the disc out. I've tried holding down the track pad key upon start up but that doesn't work neither.
What do I do??? Please help.Remove the battery to find your serial number in the battery bay. Then you can look your MBP up on EveryMac.com:
http://www.everymac.com/ultimate-mac-lookup/
That will give you all the information on your Mac.
This is assuming that you have the MBP with the removable battery and not the unibody. The unibody has different graphic chips.
Good luck!

Working fine just with black screen
Hi
My MacBook Pro is working with black screen and TV out not working.
I am sure Operating System is working fine.
What do you think the problem from?
Is it from the screen or the Motherboard?Hi Sam7ane,
How have you verified that the machine is working fine? Are you able to Target Disk the machine and access the data? Or do you have another Mac to use screen sharing?
If the display on the machine and the video out component are both not working this would typically indicate a logic board (motherboard) problem, versus the screen. It's possible that both are problematic, but from a troubleshooting perspective I'd be inclined to point to the logic board versus the LVDS cable.
Given that it's an original MacBook Pro, or rather that's the form you're in, the machine is out of Apple Care but hopefully you have access to a local repair/service center? -
Bootup with Black Screen and No Light from Keyboard
I did an update on my Mac tonight and it rebooted. My MacBook Air is set up reboot from bootcamp with Windows 7 Professional. There was the blinking cursor and then the Microsoft loading up green horizontal progress bar. Then the ready to use music was played but the whole screen went out with keyboard having no light. It seems that windows was booted up all right but there is a problem with the screen driver or something. How can I fix this?
I had this problem before when Windows 7 on bootcamp did a recent update about a week ago. The screen went dark - same problem. I went into Mac side to run my latest Parallel version. It booted up Windows & fine but the wimdows was not recognized as genuine. I called Microsoft and got the key to re-actuvate Windows fine with driver updates. Then when I rebooted from bootcamp, Winodws 7 came on all right like I had before windows update.
Now I cannot resolve the second time with black screen as the windows 7 was genuine when I open windows 7 with Parallel on Mac side. I do not know how to fix it now. Please advise and help.Hey Rollino,
Sounds like you're in the "firmware trap" There were a lot a sites about this but this appears to have most of the info/procedures:
http://www.macintouch.com/panfirmware.html
The main trick is to use an external monitor and reinstall the firmware altho' some of the other tricks might help.
BTW Welcome to Apple Discussions.
Good luck.

Stuck with black screen with Apple and download bar approx 1 quarter done. Downloading Yosemite. It has completely stopped. I can't access anything. Please help
You should really read the manual.
"How do you restore from backup? "
Restore. When given the choice, choose to use backup.
"And how can I check to see if the pics and videos are on my computer somewhere first??"
They would only be where you put them. What program did you use to import them? Pics/vids taken with ipod are not part of the sync process at all. You should be importing them just as you would with any digital camera.
If you did not import them, then they are not on your computer. -

4s bricked after trying new update, stuck with black screen with apple logo how can i fix this
Update bricked my 4s
phone , stuck with black screen with apple logo ..
how can I fix thisGreetings r1042,
Welcome to the Apple Support Communities!
I understand that your iPhone is not booting up past the Apple logo. In this situation, I would recommend working through the troubleshooting steps located in the attached article.
If your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch doesn't respond or doesn't turn on - Apple Support
If your device gets stuck during startup
When starting up, you might see the Apple logo or a red or blue screen for a long time, or your device might restart again. Try these steps:
Make sure that you have iTunes 12 or later on your computer.
Put your device in recovery mode.
When you get the option to restore or update, select Update. This will reinstall iOS without erasing your data.
Have a great day,
Joe -
Ipod touch 4G stuck on swirling motion with black screen
So I jailbroke my ipod with absinthe a few days ago and everything has been working fine but today i used an app i downloaded from cydia (cant remember the name) and it started to respring and went on for a long time so restared my ipod and everything but it still came back to the same screen of a swirling motion with black screen after passing the apple logo. I tried restoring the ipod on itunes but an error keeps occuring and it wont allow me to restore. Itunes wont read my ipod either. My ipod will not allow me to do anything. What should I do?
Go elsewhere. Jailbreaking voids the Apple warranty. It also means that you will not get any help from Apple, including from this Apple forum.

Iphone 4s. My phone dies with Black Screen intermittently. It will stay dead in spite of hard reboot requests for 10-15 minutes. Then it will come back. The battery is plenty charged. This has happened about 3 times since upgrade to IOS6.
You're in luck! Your phone is still covered by the one year Apple warrenty. I would visit your local Apple retail store, or contact Apple over the phone. They should be able to help you out best!

Hi
I have Hp Laptop, my product name is (Pavilion g6-2162se), I downloaded The drivers from the page, when I installed all drivers, the bios updatede to, but its failore, and now my computer not working means with black screen and 3 time flashing .
please helpHi,
Check if this helps:
Restoring the BIOS
If it is blinking 3 times it usually indicates memory issue..So you can try reseating the memory modules or try one memory at a time in each slot..
Refer the links below:
HP Notebook PCs - Troubleshooting LED Blink Codes or Beep Codes During Startup or Boot
Removing and Replacing a Memory Module for HP Pavilion g6-2000, g6-2100, g6-2200 and g6-2300 Noteboo...
Note:
If you have HP Support Assistant installed on the computer(The Blue Question Mark) then open it ==> Complete all pending Updates & Tuneups==> Restart and Check. It may solve your problem
Although I am an HP employee, I am speaking for myself and not for HP.

2010 MacBook Pro freezes up during use with black screen
I have an i7 Mid 2010 MBP with 8GB of RAM, SSD and 10.6.8. It has been freezing up on me with a black screen and looping audio, and I have to hold down the power button to reset it. It seems to freeze most when I have either Firefox or Parallels open. Does anybody have any idea what would be causing this? If I were to post the Error Report here, is there any information in it I should delete first so that I don't accidentally show everybody my personal information? Thanks.
Satchow, I have the same problem!!!
It's hard to believe that I spent 4.500 dollars in a notebook from a company with such fame and with this huge fail.
What are they going to do about it? Gave us a new one? Its not our problem.
Apple Inc. have to make a recall!!! What do you think about it, my friends?
