Macbook won't install the software update from version 10.6.8

Hi folks. I've tried this software update multiple times and now I find out that I can't extend my AppleCare warranty after it expires. So I'm hoping that someone else has had this problem. Basically the software update proceeds as usual, the computer restarts and just as you think everything is fine, the message 'There was a problem installing this software update. Quit all open applications and try updating again. If the problem contines, contact Apple support.' ANY help greatly appreciated. Many thanks

See if you can download and install the combo > Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update Combo
And make sure there's enough free space on the startup disk.
Right or control click the MacintoshHD icon. Click Get Info. In the Get Info window you will see Capacity and Available. Make sure there's a minimum of 15% free disk space.

You don't want to install the software that came with the drive, you don't need it and it will be problematic. Connect the new drive, open Disk Utility, select the new drive and partition it using the GUID partition scheme, then format it as Mac OS extended journaled and it will be easy to use with your Mac.

Now i can able to deploy the software update from SCCM 2012 R2 without any erro to the windows 7clients, but client side when i check there is no update installed in the clients , but seems there is no error in the client logs

Problem while installing the software update inside eclipse

Hi Widget Experts,
I am facing an error while installing the software updates inside Eclipse,
I downloaded the SAP widgets development tool.zip from SDN and exactly followed the instructions given in
SAP widgets development user guide, but while installing the software update following the path( help->software updates-> find and install->
search for new features to install -> new archived site ) the select local site achieve gets opened, and i try to open SAP widgets development tools.zip,
at this point i get a message saying "Selected Achieve does not contain an update site please select another achieve".
Please help.....

Fixed my problem.
Here is the folder structure of current zip file:
SAP Widget Development Tools - zip file.zip
 - SAP Widget Development Tools
 -- features
 -- plugins
 -- site.xml
The features folder, plugins folder, and site.xml file need to be the only thing in the zip file.
The new folder structure that works looks like this:
SAP Widget Development Tools - zip file.zip
 - features
 - plugins
 - site.xml

I have just been installing the software update ios 6.1, it went through the installing process and then my phone went off to reboot and now it constantly flashing between off and on, I cant even turn it off as power button isnt working now. I have even tried to go into DFU mode, but with no luck. HELP

You need to be installing iOS 6.1.3, the latest version.

What a pity. The update comes with the manuals and the install guide. The serial number is printed on the sticker of the install/license guide. For install you need the L7 USB-key and the L8 serial number. If it did not come with the serial number or if you have lost it you have to contact apple.

Recently my iPad3 and iPhone5 stopped synching automatically to iCloud. Around the same time I backed them both up to my Macbook Pro and installed the iOS6 update. Any thoughts or help is appreciated!

Recently, I noticed that my iPhone5, iPad 3 and iPod Touch 4th Gen stopped backing up to the iCloud automatically despite ALL of them doing so previously, without a single problem. A few weeks ago I bought a Macbook Pro and I backed up all 3 devices to it a couple times (and they still backed up to the iCloud by themselves without a problem). A few days ago, I noticed that ALL 3 OF THEM stopped backing up to the iCloud automatically. Around the same time, I backed them up to my Mac and I also downloaded the iOS6 update. I'm not sure what is wrong. Has anybody else experienced this type of problem? I'm NOT very familiar with MAC computers as this is my first one and I've been learning a lot as I go. I don't know if I did something in the setting's of iTunes when I backed the devices up that could have caused the decives to stop backing up to the iCloud automatically. I did notice on my previous laptop (a Gateway) and on this one (the MacBook Pro) that on each device, I had to go into "Setting's" on each device and turn the "iCloud Backup" back to the "On" position! That was right after I backed them up to each computer. I attempted to fix it yesterday by adjusting the setting's in iTunes, but nothing worked. If anyone can help, I would sincerely appreciate it. Ok, I can try those things this afternoon. I have to leave now and won't be able to try for several hours. I'll let you know how things turn out. Thank you again. Also, I am not sure what DNS Setting's are regarding the router and how to change them. Thank you again for trying to help me with this. One side note. I noticed yesterday on another post regarding this topic, a man said he changed his iCloud email from one to another. I have two. One is and @me.com address and one is an @icloud.com address. I switched them around the other day. One device had @me.com as the one the email one be sent from (I think that was the phone) and I believe the iPad 3 had @iCloud.com as the other. Well, I switched them both to @icloud.com. In the post I mentioned a man said that he did that to his, and it worked. That was a few days ago and this was around the same time I began noticing the devices not synching to iCloud like they should. Right now I have for the iCloud email account (on both the iPhone and the iPad) @iCloud.com as the setting that any emails from that account would be sent from and the @me.com is also turned to the "On" position on both devices. I figured that if I'm sending an email from an iCloud account it should say "@iCloud.com" after it rather than "@me.com" after it. I just did that so everthing was the same on both devices and out of personal preference. No other reason really as I don't ever use the account to email anyone and have never given either address to anyone. Only Apple has them and they sent a couple things initially and I never receive anything on that account (for the most part). Ocasionally I get something from Apple and that's a rarity. I don't know if that may factor in at all or not. It did for one gentleman. Thank you randers4!

What are you trying to download? If you are referring to the recent security update, just ignore the error and select the option to open the installer. It's fine.

MacBook won't boot after Software Update

I was installing the updatess for iTunes and QuickTime. The software sucessfully installed and asked to restart. Upon Restarting, my MacBook would not boot.
Nothing is displayed on the screen, but the CD drive checks for a disk and the backlights come on.
I tried the basics, those didn't work. Does any one know a solution?

I had tried resetting the PMU, booting to safemode (I don't know much about EFI, but I don't think it was even posting to let me have the option of how to boot), opening the command line interface (cmd, opt, o, f), and a few other small things.
I did get it fixed though. Turns out the PMU needed to be reset (I must have been doing it wrong). I think a few OX X files as right-clicking is weird (nothing highlights on the menu as I move my mouse across them) and access vault won't complete the disk saving. I plan on doing a re-install of OS X sometime soon.
