  • The calendar app on MacBook won't recognize and sync with IPad and Iphone after upgrading to Yosemite and Server 4.0

After upgrading to Yosemite on our mac mini (from OS X 10.9) and V4.0 to Server (from 3.2), the calendar app on MacBook won't recognize the account and won't sync with IPad and Iphone. Even after giving password over and over again. I get the following message:
    De server reageerde met
    '500'
    op de bewerking 'CalDAVAccountRefreshQueueableOperation'.
(Server responded with '500' on task 'CalDAVAccountRefreshQueueableOperation'
    Anyone idea?

update to my original post:  after searching since for the past 10 days - I did want to pass along to others with an iphone calendar sync problem the following resource:
Mac OS X: Resetting the SyncServices folder
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1627
This is the preferred solution for problems with sync with calendar and other apps between iphone and MaciOS.  This did solve the problem which developed that no items from iCal were copying to Iphone, such as new calendars I would add, but the original problem has not been fixed by this reset.

  • MacBook won't recognize disc

I've got a Windows Installer MSDN disc that I'm trying to use to install XP with, but my MacBook won't recognize the disc. When I put the disc in, I get the error message
"The disc you inserted is not readable by this computer."
It works fine on my PC, and most discs usually at least pop up on the desktop. What would the problem be?

So you're essentially trying to install the XP operating system on your Mac?
You first need to install Boot Camp or Parallels and partition your drive, allowing for there to be a drive to install windows on.
During that partitioning process, it eventually prompts to insert the installation disc.

  • My macbook won't recognize my password

I only use a few passwords for anything and my macbook won't recognize any of them.  Is there anyway to recover the password without having to reset the entire system?  I have been trying to do this for 3 days and can't seem to get any easy solution to the problem.

    Cannot sync my ipad . . . keep getting message " requires version 10.6.3" or later . . . I've already downloaded 10.7 to my mac . . . won't recognize Ipad either . . . help

I'm having a similar problem. Perhaps more complex. I just downloaded the 10.6.3 and it didn't solve the problem for my iPhone 5.
I have the new iPhone 5 and iTunes is asking for iTunes 7.0 in order to recognize the phone. I tried to download iTunes 7.0 but an error comes up stating that I need the 10.6.8. Well I tried to download the 10.6.8 and an error message came up saying that I need minimum of 10.6. So now I'm confused....
These are the error messages in order.
    1. The iPhone “iPhone” cannot be used because it requires iTunes version 10.7 or later. Go to www.itunes.com to download the latest version of iTunes.
    2. This update requires Mac OS X version 10.6.8 or higher.
    3. This update requires Mac OS X version 10.6.
Will I have to pay for the 10.6?
    Thanks so much in advance.

  • Macbook won't recognize

I recently got an ipod 4 from a friend. I have a macbook with snow leopard and it won't recognize the ipod. What do I do?

iPhone, iPad, iPod touch: Device not recognized in iTunes for Mac OS X
Do not omit the Additional Action paragraph since it only applies to Snow Leopard.
Make sure you have iTunes version 11 on the computer and that you have OSX 10.6.8 installed on the Mac.

  • MacBook Won't recognize cameras

I just upgraded to a MacBook Pro Retina 15 with Mavericks 10.9.5. Everything is freshly updated and no other performance issues with the new machine.
The computer won't recognize either of my cameras, neither a Nikon Coolpix S8100 nor my new Nikon D810 when connected via the USB cable.
No program will recognize the cameras being connected: not iPhoto, Nikon ViewNX2, nor Image Capture---all three latest versions. I have tried selecting  the preferences to have either iPhoto or View NX2 open when the camera is connected but it still doesn't work.
I can take the SD card out of the Coolpix and the MBP will read it in the built in card reader and I can manually drag files into both iPhoto and ViewNX2. I don't have a flash card reader for the Nikon D810.
My two drives for backups and photo storage connect and run perfectly
I had no problem with my old MBP 15 running Snow Leopard recognizing both cameras.
    Anyone else had this problem?

  • ? MacBook won't recognize external disc drive

My MacBook's internal disc drive quit, so I'm trying an external Samsung SE-208 slim portable DVD writer.   It worked once, but now the mac won't recognize it.  I tried a DVD switcher app - no luck.  The Samsung plugs into the USB port, starts up OK then disappears from itunes, the desktop, Finder - It's gone. Can I completely disable the internal disc drive?  Would that help?  I appreciate ANY help.   I'm not skilled at these things so you need to spoon feed me.  thanks

  • Pages update - Macbook won't recognize the update

Pages update - I updated Pages but the computer won't recognize it.  Now I have documents I can't access because the computer says I must update.  I have turned the computer on and off a few times and it hasn't helped.

You have 2 versions of Pages on your Mac.
Pages 5 is in your Applications folder.
Pages '09/'08 is in your Applications/iWork folder.
You are alternately opening the wrong versions.
Pages '09/'08 can not open Pages 5 files and you will get the warning that you need a newer version.
Older versions of Pages 5 can not open Pages 5.2 files and you will get the warning that you need a newer version.
Pages 5 can open Pages '09 files but may damage/alter them. It can not open Pages '08 files at all.
Once opened and saved in Pages 5 the Pages '09 files can not be opened in Pages '09.
Once opened and saved in Pages 5.2 files can not be opened in Pages 5.
Anything that is saved to iCloud and opened by newer Pages versions anywhere, is also converted to Pages 5 files.
All Pages files no matter what version and incompatibility have the same extension .pages.
Pages 5 files are now only compatible with themselves on a very restricted set of hardware, software and Operating Systems and will not transfer correctly on any other server software than iCloud.
Apple has removed over 95 features from Pages 5 and added many bugs:

Archive/trash Pages 5, after exporting all Pages 5 files to Pages '09 or Word .docx, and rate/review it in the App Store, then get back to work.

  • Itunes won't recognize ipad first generation

Itunes is updated. Recognizes iPhone 5.
My first gen iPad went on the blitz after the update and would kill off after five minutes, no matter if it was fully charged or not. I attempted the obvious restarts and resets. Reset back to factory settings via iTunes. After that it requests to be registered again, however it will not go through. Attempt to hook it to iTunes as suggested but it eventually says iTunes is "Unable to help" and isn't recognized. Attempted the home/off reboot, plug to computer/hold home key, but iTunes does not recognize iPad at all in this state.
I've read that some suggest this is a software issue and that Apple suggests this is a hardware issue. What are my options at this stage? Can this be repaired at all?

Try these tips:  Phone, iPad, or iPod touch: Device not recognized in iTunes for Mac OS X, http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1591

  • My ipad and macbook won't recognize my new apple ID for icloud

i changed my apple ID from an old email address to my new one, I was able to sign in to everything on my macbook and ipad except icloud.  It promts me to sign in to icloud with the old apple ID and I don't remember my old password, I can't log in.

You created a new Apple ID? If so - don't! All the apps and other content you bought using that ID are forever tied to it. Log in here using your old ID and use "Manage your Apple ID" to change the email address associated with it.

  • Macbook won't recognize external Hard Drive and issues with Time Machine

    Hello everyone,
I have just bought a new Macbook Pro with Mountain Lion and I am currently having problems with Time Machine.
The issue begun in Snow Leopard: Time Machine was taking too long to backup, and would often not finish the backup because the external hard drive would be unwillingly ejected.
Now with Mountain Lion I have reformated the drive (Mac OS Journaled) and about a third of the way through had the same issue: the drive was ejected before the backup could be finished. I restarted the machine and it happened again. However, now the computer won't even recognize the external drive when I plug it in. I have also tried to power off/on the drive itself to no progress.
I have tested the USB port with another drive and the port is fine. I have also tested the usb cable and it is fine. And Disk Utility does not recognize the drive (even when I try the >diskutil list command in terminal).
Now, I can hear the drive humming normally when I turn it on, and it is not usb-powered (my electricity current does fluctuate).
Could the interrupted backup procedures have damaged the drive? And if so, wouldn't the computer recognize it anyway?
It is a 4 year old WD 1 TB that is used exclusively for TM and has never left the house.
Thank you for your time reading this and let me know if you need any more information that could help out.
    Cheers!

From your description, I'd suspect a failing drive. Maybe time for a new external, especially as you've already re-formatted and it's still playing up.
I had a similar problem with one of my clone backups a few weeks ago - it failed, I erased it, re-cloned, worked a couple of times and then it failed again. Disk Utility didn't throw up any errors after re-formatting. I guess all disks die at some point.

  • MacBook won't recognize CD or eject it

I inserted a CD into the drive this afternoon and Macbook never recognized the CD. I went through the desktop, displays, harddrive, you name it. It wasn't recognized anywhere. Then, I tried to eject the CD to give it another try. My laptop won't eject the CD. I tried restarting and holding the mouse keypad down and it just makes funny noises like it is attempting to release the CD. Sometimes it won't even recognize when I push eject. I tried the unorthodox credit card method, papers, slips, etc. Nothing is working. Please help!

I had similar problem and I followed the SMC reset procedure, and now it works fine again.
Give the SMC reset procedure a try:

  • MacBook won't recognize headphone microphone

I can't get my Macbook to recognize the microphone built into my Apple earbuds or my Urbanears Plattan headphones. What can I do to make it work?
Help me Apple Support! You're my only hope!

    Welcome to Apple Discussions
I can't remember if that setting is stored in PRAM but resetting it won't hurt and might fix it.
Hold down command/option/p/r keys at start up and wait for three chimes before releasing the keys.
