MacBookPro 2011 after update resolution Problem
Hey there,
I have a very strange question - after the update from 2-1-2012 my resolution on during the start up process changed. Everything is blury and way bigger, the "Home-Screen" does not even fit in the picture. I can see the area where I put in my password but the other options like "sleep mode", "restart" and so on are not even in the picture.
As soon as I log in, the picture changes as if the pixels are completly mixed and the next second I have my old and beloved resolution.
Once again, the resolution during the start up is low...don't know why and don't know what I should do.
Would appreciate if someone could help me,

Hold the Shift key boot to enter safe mode, then reboot, it fixes things, flushes caches.
Perform a SMC reset too

After update, several problems (battery, factory recovery, Message icon)
After Froyo update, I found out several problems.
1) Battery.
It drains two times faster than before. My one does. My wife's one is worst (maybe 3-4 times faster and also the phone is hotter than mine).
2) Factory Recovery option
I could not find any factory recovery button from mine and wife's.
3) "Message" icon
My one has no "Message" icon. It has just three icons "Pone/Contacts/Applications" at the bottom of the screen.
But my wife's has all four icons "Phone/Contacts/Message/Applications"
I don't know how to correct these.It sounds like most of your issues can be found by doing a factory restore on the phone. Settings>privacy>factory data reset. The icons are customizable. Press icon to bring up all icons. Touch and hold on the icon you want on the main screen. You can touch and hold on a blank spot on home screen to add a widget.
As for battery issues, the issue has been escalated to Samsung, and we are working with them to get a resolution as quickly as possible.

Just ran the installer update and the wheel is just spinning for the past 20 min. Any thoughts out there? Should I just let it continue or force restart?
ThanksI'm also having major major problems.
First 2 restarts after installation immediately froze & crashed.
Next 2 attempted logins gave me the login screen repeatedly, and got no further.
When I do get past the login screen, my dock is completely unresponsive when I click an app (does nothing). I cannot switch between applications. I cannot open Finder windows. My Recent apps etc. are all gone. Dialog boxes cannot be closed. The Command-TAB keyboard shortcut to scroll apps just beeps instead. This isn't just buggy behavior, this is total meltdown. -

Okay so today I decided to update my phone to the latest iOS version, and upon completion I got the infinite apple logo loop problem. The standard approach I know is to do the recovery solution on your itunes. Well, here lies the problem. My laptop which has my iTunes is currently badly broken, and cannot be used. I thought that oh I'd be able to use my iTunes account on a different computer, but to my annoyance, my password is different to the one I use to confirm IAP. So I try the recovery methods, first birthday. My birthday is wrong, tried a varied range to no avail. Tried email, non of my 3 only used emails work, till I look and see the Apple ID email is slightly different to the ones I currently use, but I can't even create the email it uses as I don't know of any way I can make a .co.uk email now.
So I am stuck in a very unique situation, need to recover my iPhone via iTunes, but my iTunes can't be accessed. Is there anyway around this or am I completely screwed? I don't want to just cut my losses and make a new Apple ID/wipe my phone as I have lots of much needed information in my notes etc that I can't afford to lose and that I don't remember by heart.
Any constructive responses would be greatly appreciated.if it is stuck in a reboot loop and u HAVE to do a recovery mode restore. there is no choice. u will have to get rid of that information. call applecare (1-800-275-2273) to get help with getting access to ur apple id, but for now, u need to get ur phone working first.
to help with a loop problem sometimes a hard reset will work. hold down the power button and the home button at the same time for 20 seconds. its kinda like holding down the power button on a computer.
if that doesnt work then u will need to place it into recovery mode and do a restore. that WILL delete what is on the phone currently but if u have a back up either on itunes or icloud u can restore that back up onto the phone afterwards. -
After update a problem occurred with smiles
I have update skype to version 7.6.0.105 and my smiles didn't update correctly. Other users on Windows 7 have: smiles on white background, smiles got bigger and new smiles appeared on the panel.And I have: smiles on white background, smiles didn't get bigger, no new smiles on the panel (but i can send them using codes).I user Windows 8.1.Have can i fix it? Does anyone know why skype is not updating on all computers at the same time? Some skypes might update today and others in a few days.

Built in Audio not working in MacBook Pro after update to 10.7.3
The Built In Audio is not working in My MacBook Pro (Early 2011) after update to 10.7.3; I tried resetting the PRAM and SMC but it didn't helped me out. I can get audio only if i reboot my mac from Safe Mode or reboot after Repairing Disk Permissions in disk utility using the Recovery Partition;. If i make a normal restart or just startup then the built in audio disappers (audio is displayed gray in the menu bar) . Everything was working well with the 10.7.2
- Audio Works well with the Boot Camp Partition. and There is a sound during boot up.I dont have any backups and i dont have time capsule or an external hard drive ready to be used for backup.
My macbook is my the only one computer. The problem is that the animation is lagging when i change the window to dashboard or safari or mail or another window. Inspite of this my macbook works well.
But 5 minutes ago, I noticed that if i run autocad on my mac- the lags go away!!!! -
Microsoft Office 2011 no longer opens because "there is a problem" after updating mountain lion when the app store said there was an update available this morning. Reinstalling did not work. What's the problem?

Have a similar problem. This MacBook opened all MS Office programs in Dec2012 but no longer does in Feb2013. Went to Microsoft/mac/downloads but none of the three updates would run citing a problem "version of software needed to run this update was not found on this volume".

After performing the OS X 10.10.2 update, OpenGL applications, for example Starry Night Pro fail to run, there are numerous windows update/refresh problems (incomplete refresh, remnants of window/frame borders), and some applications, for example Google Chrome are unusable, as cursor motion in the application window causes the display to flash horizontal bars in the window.
I've tried a variety of things, including downloading the most current release of Xcode, turning on/off transparency in Accessibility, graphics switching, and a few other things, but the problem persists.
The App Store display behaves similarly. I am running a MacBook Pro.

As you can see, battery issues have been common since the first iphone, frequently reported after an upgrade, but not always. So to blame a specific version doesn't describe the problem sufficiently to find a resolution. -
I’ve 4 identical HP DL 380 G5 Servers with Windows 2003 R2 Std. The 4 machines have the same Windows driver version and motherboard BIOS version. 2 have no problem. 2 have problems after Nov/Dec 2011 Windows Update!
After running for a few days from power-up, the 2 problem servers will hang at gray screen during restart. After clicking for restart,
- The Event Log service will stop normally so there is no more error log can be seen!
- The IP ping to the server can still work. The mouse pointer in Windows can still be moved.
- The Windows shutdown gray screen can be shown.
- [Ctrl-Alt-Del] has stopped to function.
Then the system just freezes at that status. I can only cold-boot the system!
After power-up again, I can do the Windows restart / shutdown normally! But after a few day of running, the above symptom repeats! The symptom happened since I installed the Windows Update in Dec 2011. It didn’t happen before that!

In order to troubleshoot the server hang issue, you can first preform a clean boot on the problematic system.
Steps:
====================
1. Click Start->Run…->type
msconfig and press Enter
2. Click Services tab and select Hide All Microsoft Services
and Disable All third party Services
3. Click Startup tab and Disable All startup items
4. Click OK and choose Restart
5. After reboot, check whether the problem still occurs
If the server hang on issue still continues in clean boot mode, for the further troubleshooting, you may check in the Task Manager to see which process takes the memory resources.
Meanwhile, you can also use reliability and performance Monitor to track down what cause the performance issue.

Outlook 2011 won't send emails after updating to 10.8.5
After updating to 10.8.5, I can no longer send emails out of my .mac account. I am using Outlook 2011 and have double checked the outgoing server settings and everyting checks out fine. Seems to be a compatability issue now with Outlook and iOS. Can anyone confirm this or know how to fix this problem? Thanks
BTW - the error message that comes up is: "5.7.8 Bad username or password (Authentication failed)..."
