MacBookPro cannot find my HP wireless printer.

I have a HP8600 Plus wireless printer. I recently bought a new airport extreme, which is working ok. When I try to reconfigure my printer, my Mac cannot find it. Report says I should disable MAC address. How do I do this?

From the Canon website: "Printer firmware update is necessary for AirPrint function. Certain exception may apply. AirPrint functionality requires an iPad, iPhone 3GS or later, or iPod touch 3rd generation or later device running iOS 4.2 or later, and an AirPrint-enabled printer connected to the same network as your iOS device.  A printer connected to the USB port of your Mac, PC, AirPort Base Station, or Time Capsule is not supported. "
Sounds like you need to update the firmware.
Oh and here is the website to do that at: http://usa.canon.com/cusa/consumer/products/printers_multifunction/photo_all_in_ one_inkjet_printers/pixma_mg5320

  • My airport utility says it cannot find any airport wireless devices, even though I am accessing the net via my wifi.  What's up with this?

My airport utility says it cannot find any airport wireless devices, even though I am accessing the net via my wifi.  What's up with this?  Also, I cannot connect to my Photosmart b209a printer, though a different computer - same Macbook Pro can.  I tried redownloading the software, but in the setup I get a "device not reachable" message:  "However to continue configuring the device in network, your Mac must have access to the device. So please make sure that your Mac has access to the Network ..."  I've checked my network on the system preferences and it's properly connected.  I'm on the net as I do this.  Tis very frustrating, and any assistance woud be appreciated.

Airport Utility is for administration of genuine Apple Base Stations. If you have a different Brand, Airport Utility can do nothing for you.
    I think they're using ethernet.
To connect a Printer via Ethernet, no password is needed.
We already tried the password for the internet and that did not work...
If a password is required to connect to the Internet, then WiFi is likley being used, and that WiFi password is the one needed for the Printer connect wirelessly as well.
What make&model Printer? Is it indeed a Wireless Printer? Most connect via USB, but that would force it to use a specific computer to assist in printing.

  • I cannot connect my Brother wireless printer to my MAC

I have a MAC iOS10.9 and I have a Brother wireless printer.  When I go into printers and scanners, it does not recognize any printers.  When I press the + sign to add a printer, a blank page appears with lines and I cannot write into it.  The printer does recognize my wireless network, but my MAC does not recognize the printer.  I have downloaded the Brother drivers, tried install the disc that came with the printer, but nothing works.  My router is fine and current.  I just changed internet providers yesterday and all my apple products work, but the printer is not working.  It did work with my old wireless network.  thank you

  • Cannot find HP AiO networked printer

Spent over 1.5 hrs with HP support to no avail...thought someone here may have some additional information.
Have an HP PS3210 AiO printer connect via USB to my MBP. My wife can print fine as long as I'm home and my computer is on. When I am away she must connect her PB to print. No big deal but an inconvenience.
The 3210 has built in networking so I tried to connect it to the wireless router for network printing with a wired (Cat 5) connection. HP software could not find the printer. Uninstalled and re-installed software with most current version, still could not find the printer. Here's what's weird. Both machines can find the printer by entering the IP address in a browser window. It prints, scans, shows ink levels, tech data, everything. On the PB I can manually install the printer by going to printer setup utility, add, default browser, more printers, then selecting HP IP printer from the drop down menu but I cannot do it on the MBP. HP IP printing is not offered as an option. Even after adding the printer manually, printing a test page so I know it works, when I run the HP device setup program it still does not find the printer.
I have tried disabling the firewall on both machines, no change. HP says I have a problem with Bonjour, that it must be working properly in order for the software to see the printer on the network. If that's so, how come everything else seems to see the printer?
I have alot more faith in the knowledge available on this board than anythig HP can do for me. Any ideas or suggestions????
    Thanks!
    MBP 2.33 C2Duo   Mac OS X (10.4.8)

You're very welcome, and that's great news. Now because you were able to add the printer and successfully print from the EWS, it let's us know that everything is set up properly we just need to contact the router manufacturer and have them open up some ports that may be blocked.
When you contact them please tell them to make sure that the bonjour multicasting is enabled on the router. Now you will need to make sure that the following ports are unblocked:
    UDP: 427, 161, 137, 138,
    TCP: 9100, 9220, 9500, 137, 139, 427
    Bonjour Ports: 80, 443, 5222, 5223
Once these settings are changed and ports unblocked you should now be able to successfully print to your D110a.
Let me know how everything works out!

  • My iPad cannot find my HP AirPrint printer HP 3050 .  We are on the same network

I have recently converted all our family devices to Apple.  My Mini-Mac has found my printer as well as my Mac Air.  The only device that has not is my wife's iPAD.  She is on the same home network as my other systems, but no results.  Software updates are current on all.  The local Apple store said that I am pressing the right Find Printer tab.  What else can I adjust to link up here?

The HP 3054 j610a is not an AirPrint printer. The 2011 model, the HP 305xA j611, does support AirPrint. The list is here:

  • I have a VIXIA HF R400 and I love it but I cannot find where the wireless controls are?

Were are the wireless controls on the VIXIA HF R400? The manua says what they do but not clear instructions on how to access it.

    Hi bgutzman!
Using the CameraAccess app for iOS devices and Android smartphones, you can control the camcorder from a distance while you view the camcorder's image on the smartphone's screen.  Not only can you control the camcorder to start and stop recording, you can also record the camcorder's image directly onto your smartphone.  The CameraAccess app can be downloaded from either the Apple App Store or the Google Play Store.  When this has been done:
    1)  Set the camcorder to receive remote control commands in the menu.
    2)  Activate WiFi on the settings screen.
    3)  Touch the access point with the same SSID as the one you saw earlier when you set the camcorder for remote control.
    4)  Enter the password.
    5)  Start the CameraAccess app.
If this is a time sensitive-matter, additional support options are available at Contact Us.

  • DPR 1260 Wireless Print Server not recognized on Macbook Pro

Please help. I am a first time Mac user. I have a D-link wireless print server that is connected to a HP Office Jet 6200 all in one. For some reason I cannot set up the wireless print server. A couple questions: I enter the IP address when I set up a new printer. Still nothing. Do I need to select IP printing when setting up a new printer? Is D-link wireless printing supported by Leopard? When I plug in direct via USB - Mac prints no problem. Tech support really couldn't help - neither could D-link. Does anyone know step by step how to set up? Explain it to me like I'm 4 years old. Thanks.

You have two issues going at once.
Driver - There are two kinds of print driver on OS X (not like Windows) - Carbon and CUPS. CUPS drivers are required to use the standard network print protocols provided in OS X by the CUPS system - IP printing and Windows printing. But HP doesn't provide CUPS drivers for non-postscript printers. They provide Carbon drivers where they have limited the driver to USB only. To get a CUPS driver for your model, install the 3 part hpijs:
    http://www.linux-foundation.org/en/OpenPrinting/macosx
Print & Fax prefs setup -
I call your attention to page 19 of the print server manual. Dlink simply has "no clue" about OS X. The easiest comm protocol for you is HP Jetdirect, which equals TCP/IP raw port 9100. That is for USB port 1 -- for the other USB ports you will need to use advanced setup in Print & Fax.
So, plug the printer into USB port 1 and set up using IP printer > HP Jetdirect protocol, selecting your new hpijs driver.
    Good luck.

  • Trouble connecting to a wireless printer

I have a Time Capsule and I just turned on the Guest Account. In order for me to do this I changed the DHCP setting under the Internet tab to change the DHCP Beginning Address to 10.x.x.x. For those using either the 2.4GHz or 5GHz wireless network they have no problems using the HP Officejet Pro 8500 wireless printer since it connects to the either of two available wireless networks.
Further away I have two Mac laptops who cannot access the two wireless networks due to signal strength. I hooked up a AE using an existing ethernet connection. I created a new wireless network and the addresses are in the same range - 10.x.x.x when connected wirelessly but I cannot "see" the HP wireless printer.
Is it possible for the two users connecting to the AE to every "see" the HP wireless printer?
    Thank you for looking.

If your printer is already connected to your printer (wifi light = green), click on the link to Manually Add a USB Print Queue, Network Print Queue and Fax Queue on Mac OS X Systems
If the wifi light is orange, just follow the steps when you launch the wireless setup assistant.

  • Laptop cannot find wireless printer HP 2540

Trying to connect my Acer laptops to HP Deskjet 2540 All-in-one printer.   Printer is connected to wireless network.
My laptops cannot find the printer.  I have tried everything suggested, apart from disabling my firewall  which I am reluctant to do as I do not want to have my laptop so vulnerable.
Did not have any problem connecting a Windows 7 laptop to former printer, which was a Lexmark wireless model.
One laptop is using Windows 7, the other Windows 8.1, but both have the same problem.
I am not very technically astute and also I am quite old, so if anyone can help, please keep it simple.

Hi mev2911, and welcome to the HP Forums!
I understand that you are no longer able to get connected to your HP Deskjet 2540 All-in-One Printer on your wireless network. I suggest that you follow the steps in this document for Printer Does Not Maintain Wireless Connection. I suggest that if your computers are not seeing the printer, that you power cycle your network first as this may resolve your issue.
    How to power cycle network
Follow these steps to reset your HP printer, your wireless router, and your computer.
1.Press the Power button on the HP printer to turn it off.
2.Disconnect the power cord from the rear of the HP printer.
3.Disconnect the power cord from the wireless router.
    4.Turn off the computer.
    5.Wait 30 seconds.
6.Reconnect the power cord to the wireless router.
7.Wait 30 seconds, or until the router is fully on and ready.
    8.Turn the computer back on.
9.Wait for the computer to reload.
10.Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the HP printer.
    11.Turn the printer back on.
I hope this information helps, please let me know how it goes.
Thank you and have a great day!
