MacbookPro start up screen frozen with "plaid" apple
After the power-up chime, I see a flash of "plaid" pattern black and blue screen, I see the gray screen with apple logo in center with spinning loading wheel. The apple isn't solid as would be usual, instead it is the "plaid" pattern. The loading wheel freezes after about a minute. Screen eventually goes black.
I powered down by holding the power button for about 10 seconds. A restart produced the same results.
After disconnecting the power cord, I removed and reinstalled the battery pack, attempted restart with same result.
I was checking an Internet site when this problem occurred (flashing plaid screen to frozen page, with my eventual forced power down). Probably had Word, iTunes or iPhoto open at the time.
Software is up to date, trash was recently emptied, and I'm running OSX 10.6.8.
Any helpful suggestions before I make the 90 minute drive to my nearest genius?

Follow the instructions in the article. When you connect your phone again, you may have to press both the home and sleep/wake buttons until the Apple logo reappears, then continue pressing the home button until iTunes detects the phone in recovery mode. -

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

Try connecting the device to your iTunes library in recovery mode and restoring it. Use the instructions in this Apple support document to place the iPod into recovery mode.

I was updateing the software on my ipod through the wireless straight to the ipod and had to stop so held down both the power and the home buttons. Now the screen is frozen with the apple logo and the normal 'unfreeze' technique won't work. The computer does not recognise the ipod so will not charge or restore it. Is there anything that I can do myself?
Unplug it and let unit go dead. Then hold your Home button down and plug the USB power cord back in. iTunes should see it and then restore.

HT4623 My iphone is frozen with the apple icon and progress bar at 5% cannot update
My iphone4 is frozen with the apple icon and progress bar at 5% cannot update
Same issues here.
iPhone 5 was fine until I restarted the device... now the screen flickers on and off (with the white Apple logo
and frozen progress bar overlayed on the screen).
When I try to restore, I get a "-1" error.
Well I just looked over at the screen, and everything is now fine. No flickering, no logo... the screen looks normal.

My ipod was updating overnight. I woke up to find the screen frozen with the itunes logo and the usb charger. I've tried hooking it up to itunes but it says I need to restore and update but I've tried to do that and it won't. What should I do?
- Try placing the iPod in Recovery Mode and restoring via iTunes
- Next try DFU mode and restore.

My mackbook pro suddenly freezed and when I swiched off and on again, a grey screen appeared with an apple logo then a loading circle underneath, and after a few hours, a blue screen appeared. What shall I do with this?
What operating system version, and do you have any backups of your data off the machine? TimeMachine? Option Key bootable clones? Storage? DVD's?
A reinstall of the operating system may be in order as a last resort, so if any of these steps on these links get you into the machine, make sure to backup your personal data (Music, Pictures, Documents, Movies) off the machine to a non-encrypted powered external drive regular storage drive (not TimeMachine as it might be corrupted too) and disconnect as soon as possible.
Good Luck and report back all what you tried.
Also report what change occured before this tragedy happened, was there a Software Update? A EFI firmware update? Etc.

Why has my iphone frozen with the apple logo
why has my iphone 4 frozen with the apple logo
Hard to tell. What were you doing when it happened? First try a reset. Hold the sleep/wake and home buttons together until you see the Apple logo and then release. This could take up to 20 seconds. If it does not restart, then check this support document. http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3281

Safari, always refreshes a page when opening
When I have multiple pages open in safari and want to change back to a different page then it always refreshes that page. Can it be set to simply go back to that window and keep the page as it was? Pretty sure it doesn't work like that on the iPhone
