Machine Hours

Hi Guruu2019s,
Currently in one of our plants in Czech Rep we are costing material in local currency (CZK) but the activity types/ machine costs are set up in USD.
So when GR for finished goods are produced, the absorption is using the machine hour costs in USD and the conversion / exchange rate used is kinda weird.
We are now trying to set up the MACHC in SAP in CZK (because all the budget calculation leading to MACHC for the year are also done in CZK). This will be more transparent for any analysis and for absorption too and would avoid any eventual discrepancies coming from any exchange rates.
We use the transaction KP26 to input the total capacities for the production lines in hours and to put MACHRC per hour for every production line.
In KP26 if you go to settings - set planner profile. We are currently using planner profile SAPALL. I noticed a couple of profiles were set for local currency. So I tried to use both of the layouts.
I first changed in KP26 the machine hour costs for Cost Center XXXX from 1315,35 USD to 100000 CZK.
As example I can used a product YYYYYYY, which is a pebble product produced on Cost Center XXXX.  The Machrc calculated in the Std price for this product before I made the change were 458,64 CZK / 100 Eas.
After this change took place the cost for Activity type in KP26 this increased the Machc calculated in the Std price for this product  to 573,34 CZK / 100 EAs.
I thought that the calculation should be: (Machrcosts for 1 hour for the CC) * (routing for 100 EAs) = (Machcosts for 100 EAs)
Before I changed the layout example :
1315,35 USD  * 1,058 MIN = 458,64 CZK/100 EAs
(don`t know which exchange rate is taken from here u2013 because when I take 23530,48 CZK displayed in KP27 as converted value for 1315,35USD the result should be 414,92 CZK/100 EAs)
After the change I am getting:
100000 CZK * 1,058 MIN = 1763,33 CZK/100 EAs
But if i gt to that material YYYYYY and look at the cost tab the calculation is 573,34 CZK/100 EAs.
Do you have any idea, what could be the issue? Maybe some additional changes must be done in KP26 and KP27 after changing the layout not just the overwriting of the value Machrcosts?
Thank you in advance for your time and help.
Best regards
Yasmeen

Hi Thess,
Just to make a point, I suggest you to do planning KP26 and KP06 and run KSPI to get the activity prices. If you do this, it not only serves your purpose of maintaing activity prices, but also, helps you in getting the variance reports and cost center level.
Now, if the activity prices of depreciation and other overheads need to get multiplied by the no. of machine hours, (obviously there must have been one activity "machine hours" to capture the production cost), you can create seperate operations (dummy operations with dummy work centers and dummy activities assigned to them) for these overheads. (even you can use all the activity types in the same work center in the same operation).
Once the user confirms the activity "machine hrs" (with 5 hrs for example) for operation in CO11N, the same number of hours can be defaulted for other operations also...(like depreciation etc in your case).
Pls talk to your PP Consultant to do this.

  • Actual Cost Machine hours is zero (After confirmation)

    Dear Guru,
We are implementing PP module and product costing. We enter the budget with activity type in KP06 & KP26. After confirmation, the actual cost in machine hours is zero but not in electricity or steam. Why the actual cost is zero in activity type machine (we enter the actual qty machine hours) ...
May you assist me to solve this issue
    Thanks

    Dear Umapathi G & Shaubhik
Thanks for your replay.I have checked the Control key is marked for costing and the cost center is assigned correctly and we have executed the KPSI before and I found the fixed price for Machine hours in tcode KSBT and cost center is not locked for posting secondary CE
For additional information, we have 3 activity type, Machine hour, Electricity and steam. The actual cost for electricity and steam are not problem, only for actual cost activity machine is zero. The issue only for activity type for machine.
May you have me to give the other solution to be checked
Thanks for your replay and I am really appreciate it

  • Labor Hours and Machine Hours

    Hi everyone,
Our manufacturing operation involves injection molded parts that have labor time and machine time structured. As operations department, we receive a daily schedule per molding machine we have but such schedule shows only the amount of parts to be produced and not its equivalent in machine and labor hours based on its routings. Basically we receive a list of Planned Orders to be produce in a daily basis with parts only.
In a previous experience in Oracle there was a report showing the order, parts, labor time and machine time requiered.
Is there a report in SAP that can reflect the same data?
Currently we are looking up into a routings spreadsheet but the problem is that is not accurate because routings may change for multiple reasons.
    Thanks.
    JB

    Jorge,
This is possible in SAP also. But this needs enabling PP and timebooking functionality in HR.
In PP along with CO, the machines or the PRT are created as cost centers and teh costs will accrue to these cost centers. Similarly teh cost of the materials can also be accrued on a cost center. The labour hours can be captured by means of timebooking and linking every employee to a work center whichis again linked to a cost center. If these functionalities are enabled, then it is possible to see all the costs, activities and schedules used for an order, may it be production order, assembly order, or a service order.

  • Time Machine hourly backup seems a tad large

    Hi all
Occasionally, my hourly Time Machine incremental backups to my Time Capsule seem a tad large. One hour the backup is a sensible size, then an hour later, when I've been doing very little on my machine, the backup is massive (as in, several gigabytes).
Not only that, but the backup seems to grow in size as its happening. the pictures below should help illustrate.
The backup is listed as being 719MB, only an hour after a more modest backup. Time Machine seems to be claiming that is has transferred all of the required backup:
But then, only two minutes later, see how the situation has changed:
    And the situation continues:
Any ideas? This issue happens intermittently (although it is happening now... that last image was taken a few minutes ago and the backup was still going - up to 3.1GB - before I told it to stop).
I'm not certain if Time Machine is actually transferring this amount of data to the Time Capsule or not.
    Cheers.

    Hi,
I had the same problem today as well. The last backup was done this morning at 2 a.m. When I turned my PowerBook G4 on again this afternoon, the backup size continually grew, just like on your machine, Rob. I aborted the backup a couple of times, deleted the inProgress file, but it always got bigger and bigger. After downloading Time Machine Buddy and Time Tracker, I just let Time Machnine "do it's thing". Luckily, I had enough free space on my WD MyBook 500 GB I use for the backups, because it stopped only at 24.8 GBs, after initially displaying 61,3 MB in the menu bar, and requesting 1.05 GB according to Time Machine Buddy.
    Time Machine Buddy protocol:
    Starting standard backup
    Backing up to: /Volumes/My Book/Backups.backupdb
No pre-backup thinning needed: 1.05 GB requested (including padding), 32.74 GB available
Copied 139261 files (24.8 GB) from volume Macintosh HD.
No pre-backup thinning needed: 1.16 GB requested (including padding), 7.36 GB available
Copied 7042 files (2.0 MB) from volume Macintosh HD.
    Starting post-backup thinning
Deleted backup /Volumes/My Book/Backups.backupdb/Claas Olthoffs PowerBook/2009-03-05-202501: 7.36 GB now available
Deleted backup /Volumes/My Book/Backups.backupdb/Claas Olthoffs PowerBook/2009-03-05-192342: 7.37 GB now available
Deleted backup /Volumes/My Book/Backups.backupdb/Claas Olthoffs PowerBook/2009-03-05-123736: 7.37 GB now available
Deleted backup /Volumes/My Book/Backups.backupdb/Claas Olthoffs PowerBook/2009-03-05-113526: 7.38 GB now available
Post-back up thinning complete: 4 expired backups removed
    Backup completed successfully.
So I took a look at Time Tracker to see what was backed up. I was suprised to see, that the biggest chunk was my Macintosh HD/Library/Application Support folder. This folder is 23,9 GB in size, mainly because it contains Final Cut Studio media and templates. Time Machine backed it up completey. This seems weired, because none of the files I looked at in this folder were changed during the last couple of months, if not the last year, since I installed them. I don't know why Time Machine would backup all of those unchanged files.
For the sake of completeness, the external drives contains other, non-backup, files as well.
I hope this gives you some more information to work with Pondini.
    Greetings,
    Claas

  • Time Machine Hourly Back Up - How can I Disable

Even though I have Time Machine swicted off at the toggle it continues to back up every hour
I have a MAc Mini and a 1TB external hard drive atatched. Despite wswitching off the toggle the hard drive is three quarters full of back ups.
I agree a back up is good but there is now too much - I dont make that many cahnges.
How can I stop this hourly back up and - as I thought I could by switching the toggle off - simply back up mnually?
Also wjhat about when I upgrade to Moutain Lion?

  • Time Machine- hourly (then why does my external gear up more often?)

Time Machine is a beautiful thing. It kicks off every hour.
Then why does my external HD come alive more frequently? It seems to come on every 10 mins or so for a few minutes - and I don't know what it's doing. (It's not performing a TM backup.)
    Thanks!

The operating system or other apps, when there's a need, checks mounted drives/partitions. For example, I have a file utility that, when invoked, polls the drives. This wakes my drives, even those on a server in which one of its drives is mounted on my Mac.

  • Table of Machine hours in PP

    Hi all ,
I want to know in which table we can find the information related to machines used to produce an FG  or SFG ( Like how many mins the machine was run and what is the cost for that ) .
I can find this in the Tcode KOB1 . But its giving me a structure when i press F1.
I have use sql trace to find the table , but its not useful. Can any body pls advice me how can i get the table .
    Thanks in advance.
    Sandeep.

    Well, thanks for the thanks.
I think this might be a font issue. Any new fonts used? Perhaps a corrupt style, maybe.
If chapters 1-20 work, it sounds like the problem is in Chapter 21, but you say you can generate a TOC in chapter 21 as a standalone.
Windows can be hard to troubleshoot because it doesn't give helpful crash reports. Perhaps back up everything, then try synching the styles again. Not sure it you should try using a source from the front, or chapter 21, though.
I'd also try exporting all stories from chapter 21 to InDesign Tagged text, then create a new file and place the tagged text on th pastebaord. Copy and paste that into new text frames on the pages (this is probably not required, but is one more cleaning step and I have seen cases where it mattered). Replace chjapter 21 with the new file in the Book.

  • Time machine hourly backups

I would appreciate any help on this and to also let me know if this can be changed. It states that a hourly backup is performed each hour. Well, the hourly backups are always shown that they start 42 to 44 minutes after the last one completes.
Why doesn't it schedule it in 1 hour after the backup completes? Can the hourly backup time be corrected and set to 1 hour?

Thanks. I didn't know a program like that existed. I set it to backup every 2 hours. It looks like it's actually works. It added an extra hour to the 42-44 minute intervals that it was doing. I do a lot of work, and this is a great safety net.

  • Change Time Machine "hourly" backup to "daily"?

hourly backups are major overkill. daily or even 3x weekly would be great.
any way to change the frequency? or simply turn it off until you want to let it run?

Also keep in mind that at the end of the day, the 24 hourly backups are consolidated into a single daily backup. Similarly, after a week the daily backups are replaced with a single end of the week backup. After a month, the weekly backups are replaced with a single end of the month backup. So at any given time, you will have a series of monthly backups, perhaps some weekly ones, some daily ones, and some hourly ones. You don't end up with a zillion hourly ones in the end.

  • Time Machine hourly backup to Time Capsule takes 1 hr for 5MB

Lately our iMac (Snolw Leopard 10.6.8) seems to be constanly backing up.
I watched it carefully in the Time Macine preference window.
When starting and it says Preparing xx,xxx items with the number going above 100,000.
Then it says backng up Zero MB of 5.1 MB.
Then it takes 35 minutes to copy the first 100 KB or so. Finally it gets happy and then finishes.
Nex hour it goes through the whole sequence again.
I got frustrated and deleted the backup from the time capsule and started from scratch.
The full backup took 4 1/2 hours for 165GB. One hour later it starts the whole 1 hour to back up 5 MB process again.

That should have said next hour it starts the whole 40 minutes to back up 5 MB process again.

  • Machine Hour Rate

    Dear All,
In our shopping flour we have a one Mechine of 10,00,000/-, every day we have so many project are working on that Mechine.
Here my point is how we can calculate the Mechaine Hour Rate.
    for EX:
    If we have taken KP06
Cost Element : Mechine Hour Rate
    Cost Center :  Department A
then _I have to maintain the 10,00,000/- _   Is it correct?
    then in KP26
    Cost Center : Department A
Work Center : Work Center A
if i Execute, then what can i Menchition : Life span of the Mechaine Hours Is it correct?
If both are correct statements then i will calcuate the KSPI Automatic Calculation.

  • GR55- Activity hours [Setup] [Machine]

    Hi all,
In my client people using GR55 report to get the activity hours by cost center, in that for one cost center they are getting Same number of hours for [SETUP] & [MACHINE].
I checked that specific cost center assigned work center operations in production order there I saw SETUP & MACHINE hours both had different value like 0.33  Hours  & 23,100 Seconds.
Please guide, how these activity hours are get linked with GR55 report.
Is any where other than Routing standard values is cost center is updated by different activity hours.
Please guide me to resolve this issue.
    Thanks in Advance.

Pls tell me what is the report group you are selecting in GR55

  • Time Machine to AFP volume is extremely slow after 10.5.2 update

I remember the time, after I have just installed the very first version of Leopard, when Time Machine was working with close to physical speed of my wireless network. Incremental backups would take less than a minute.
Comes 10.5.1. Time Machine became slower, but still tolerable: it might take up to 10 minutes to do an hourly backup.
Comes 10.5.2. Now Time Machine might take a couple of hours to do its "hourly" backup! 99% of the time it spends backing stuff up - when it shows the progress of the backup. So right now it says it's backing up 34.1 megabytes, and then it stopped at 1.4 megabytes, spent there about 15 minutes. Then it continued to about 9.5 megabytes, spend another 20 minutes there, without any progress, no CPU usage, very little network usage. Then it progressed to about 10.5 megabytes, and stuck again. Now it's at 15.2 megabytes, and been there for about 10 minutes already.
I use Airport Extreme base station with 802.11n at 5GHz, and the backup volume is on my Mac Mini, connected to AEBS via an ethernet cable, and during the phases when Time Machine gets stuck, I tested how the network works from my MacBook Pro, which I'm trying to backup to Mac Mini - constantly getting about 8-9 megabytes per second transfer rate, so clearly it's not that my wireless network is experiencing issues. Besides, the same problem persists even if I plug Ethernet cable directly into my MacBook Pro.
I've cleaned all caches, repaired permissions, repaired all volumes, rebuilt Spotlight indices on both my MacBook Pro and in the backup sparse bundle. The only thing it solved is insanely long "Preparing for backup" issue, but it DIDN'T solve the slow backup I have just described.
For comparison: rsync takes about a minute to do a full sync of my entire hard drive to the same AFP volume. Apple Backup 3.1.2 takes about as much. Time Machine - hours. I fail to even begin to imagine what in a world might they be doing there, spending this much time copying 34.1 megabytes of data over the network.
P.S. As I finish writing this, the backup progress is still at 15.2 magebytes. About 15 minutes now. A little over an hour now and not even half of the 34 megabytes is completed.
