Macintosh HD 'Locked' when trying to do complete reinstall Mavericks.

I tried to install mavericks and found out my HD was corrupted. I repaired it and want to do a reinstall of Mavericks however when I go to select install location it says my Macintosh HD is locked. Any tips?

As you are receiving messages that indicate your hard drive is corrupt the best option would be to erase and install. Here is the article that walks you through that process.

Computer locks when trying to change multiplier

My computer locks up in the BIOS when I try to access the CPU Clock Ratio menu option. Ever since I upgraded Bios to 2.70 on my MS-6373 K7N420 Pro I have been running at 1100 MHz instead of 1400 ( I have an Athalon 1700 ). My system also locks when I try to access the menu option about CPU Fan. What can I do? I'd like to get my processor back to 1400MHz. I figured it would be a multiplier thing.

Have been running iTunes on Windows PC for many months. OS is Vista. Today when prompted to upgrade iTunes and iCloud Control Panel, the upgrade failed. Message received was "iTunes was not installed correctly. Please reinstall iTunes. Error 7 (Windows error 126). Also saw a message that said a particular DLL file was missing but don't know specific file name. Have tried upgrading and uninstalling/reinstalling iTunes several times without success. Can anyone help? Thanks.

Error 213 indicates there was problem locating the update or an incorrect URL. The troubleshooting steps are still the same as both errors are related to failure of the current network connection.

Lock when trying to update a Z-field in MARD

Hi,
I have a Z-field in an append to MARD. In MIGO we create an output idoc (a custom made Z-idoc) and in the function module processing the idoc I want to update my Z-field in MARD. The update in MARD are made with a bapi called BAPI_MATERIAL_SAVEDATA.
Pseudocoding of the function module which are processing the idoc:
Get material document into bapi structures
loop items.
   perform get_some_more stuff
   perform update_mard.
endloop.
form update_mard.
    do some stuff
    call method class=>update_mard
    loop at error messages.
         Give a message
   endloop.
    call function BAPI_TRANSACTION_COMMIT.
endform.
in the update_mard-method I fill the structures needed to handle the append in mard and call the BAPI_MATERIAL_SAVEDATA
I hope you are with me so far. From the update_mard I receive some error message handled in the loop that the material couldnt be saved. I assume I have a lock problem. But I cannot get the program to stop when I set a break-point. It simply doesnt stop.
So two questions:
1. Can I somehow force my break-points to come in effect?
2. Can I "postpone" the actual update of MARD until the material document output is processed? If so how? If not, what can I do to avoid my lock problem?

I have tried to put a break-point just before my error message are created but it still don´t stop. But since I get the error message I know that the flow passes my break-point. It just doesn´t stop. Does it matter if I use break-point or break ?
I can see lock entries during the processing. I set a wait up to 30 seconds so I have plenty of time to check lock entries, and I see that there are entries.
My concern is that I want to be able to postpone my processing until the system releases the lock, but preferrably from the function module where I handle my idoc.

i found that temp.data1,sysaux.data1,system.data1, and undo.data1 failed to restore. then i restore it manually one by one using brtools except temp.data1 (it always fail to restore)

Message 'USER LOCKED' when trying to give more line items in VA03

Hi All,
We have created a 'Z' smartform layout at delivery level and it has a 'Z' Output type.
When i am trying to enter more line items in va03 then it says user is locked .
Kindly give me suggestion whether this has a problem in the Layout OR else is some configurational problem.

its not a layout or print program problem at all.
i think you have implemented some EXIT for va* and it may be creating problem.
you have to see by debug from where this message comes from.
than you will come to know and rectify this.

Disk Utility locks when trying to partition

Well, I'm in a right pickle at the moment. I decided to reinstall Mac OS X on my PowerBook. For some reason, when starting Disk Utility from the OS X DVD 1, it just says 'Gathering disk information...' with the spinning icon. Still no luck. Then, after restarting, nothing happens. Just the old OS 9 icon saying it can't find the System Folder.
I then tried to install Ubuntu Linux which worked perfectly. I tried the Hardware Test CD which worked fine as well and said everything was OK. I then tried to reinstall OS X but without luck. Disk Utility just hangs....
I'm off on holiday in 48 hours so I need this machine fixed. Any ideas? I have an iPod and another Mac (good ol' Mini) so I thought I could do something with this. I backed up the machine so everything is safe but I just need to install OS X on it. So, how can I fully restore the disk back to normal?

Are you sure you made the partition HFS+? You need to make sure that the partition is compatible with being a system disk.
Are you using the disks that originally came with the computer. If you use disks from another machine, the installer may refuse to install. If you have a retail version, you might have problems if the retail version is older than the computer you are trying to install on. Even though the retail versions of the OS should work on a variety of machines, it may not be compatible with computers that are newer, even though installing and applying software update should get you to the version you needed. Apple doesn't anticipate you using retail disks on a machine that came with the same version bundled with it.

Why do I get "Error - That file is locked" when trying to save?

Everytime I try to save a new sequence in FCP I get an error stating "Error - That file is locked" with no additional elements to determine which file is locked. I haven't changed any settings and I am the administrator of the computer. I was wondering if anyone knew how to fix this.

Do you mean when you try to save the project? If so, check the project file (Get Info) and see if it is actually locked.

Storm password locks when trying to download from appworld

HELP! My storm is about to turn into another "Irene". Everytime I try to update anything from appworld it asks for the email and password. Once I type in the password it authenticates then gives me a message that my "Blackberry ID will be locked for "0" minutes for security reasons. You will not be able to login or request your password until that time has expired."
How do you fix that?? I am really getting aggrevated with this phone and a DROID is starting to look like a must spend money option.

I guess everyone is at a loss for help on this one.

Disk is locked when trying to re-install osx

I have a time machine backup of my old disk. I get to the OSX Utilities Screen and try to re-install OSX on the newly installed hard drive (My old one was failing) and i get the message (HD is locked)...how can i unlock this disk??

I think what happened here is that the Time Machine backup disk that I used was not formatted in Mac Journaled so it will not boot up. I think im going to have to re-do the time machine backup after after i reformat the disk to Mac Journaled....does this sound correct?

Error when trying to DL OS X Mavericks?

When I'm trying to download the Mavericks update I get the error: Unknown Error. We could not complete your request. Anyone know a fix for this or when this will stop. The error happens right after I enter my password for my apple id. I don't even get a chance to DL it...

I am running Win Vista Home Prem 32 bit. When I updated to Acrobat Pro 7.1.4, during the update, I get the error "Cannot write to C:\....\ActiveX\iehelper.dll. Clicking retry doesn't work. Now my Acrobat doesn't work--it just returns to the installation process, and the same error occurs.
So, I uninstalled Acrobat Pro with the intention of reinstalling it. During the reinstallation of AP 7.0, now I get the same error. I tried to change the attributes of the folder, but I can't do it. I am logged in as Administrator. I tried running setup as administrator, but I get the same error.
Finally, I just tried to delete the folders, hoping that the installer would work right. I can't delete the Acrobat folder/subfolders.
I know this is probably a Windows question, but I thought I would try here first.

Hope you are having a lovely afternoon today! I'm about ready to go bobo....I have an early meeting, and I don't want to oversleep! The nice part is that I work remotely, so I only have to wake up 15 minutes or so before the meeting.... I don't even use an alarm clock anymore (really, my iPhone alarm, which is much more pleasant), unless I have to get up at 6:30 or something....
