Macintosh os/9 not seeing my access points

I have a lab of 40 macintosh ibooks running OS/9 with the airport client. We recently replaced the Apple Airports with AP-350s running IOS 12.2(JA). Now, here is the problem. Ibooks running OSX work fine. the OS9's do not appear to be trying to find the APs. However, with the same scenario here in my office; if I turn on the Broadcast SSID option, the computer associates to the access point. If I turn off the Broadcast SSID option, the IBook seems to just do nothing, but it does give a 169.###.###.### IP address. When the Lab Tech took the Ibook back over to the lab, it did not work, even though I had turned the Broadcast on. They need these for a final next week. no pressure at all.

Try disabling the Aironet extensions feature on the Cisco APs. This feature is used by cisco wireless clients to exchange compatiblity information. Some of the non-cisco clients may not work with this feature enabled. Try disabling this. It should work.

  • AC 5.31 not seeing wireless access points

We have a single image that is used for all of Lenovo / IBM laptops, T40, T60, T61, T42, T500. On the T40 I encounter issues with access connections from the get go, it does not see any wireless access points. Also does not seem to be the program managing it as windows wireless networks icon pops up saying wireless networks found, upon clicking on the icon I see quite a few available.I do not see this happening on my other laptops, I have attempted to remove AC and uninstall the wireless lan card only to run into the same issue upon reinstalling it.
    Please help,
    Thanks!

  • Can not see wireless access point

I've wired both my laptop (windows7) and my wireless access point (wap54g) to my functional Neatgear switch. When I run the Linksys setup cd (from my laptop) I get the following message ...Can not locate a wap on this network. What am I doing wrong? Everything is powered up and all 3 lights on the wap are on.
    Please help...

Have you tired to configure the WAP54G manually? If not you may try to connect your laptop directly to the access point's ethernet port and please make sure that the laptop has the same network IP as of the access point (192.168.1.***) then try to access the WAP54G set-up page via browser for you to configure it.

  • Z 10 doesn't see WiFi access points

My Z 10 doesn't see some WiFi access points eg at the Apple Store.

Got a Z10 for Christmas. Like it a lot. One problem is that it doesn't see some WiFi access points, particularly one at an Apple store in Troy, Mi and 2 Apple stores in Southern Ontario, where I live. I bought the phone at Staples. Use Speakout from 7 - 11 stores in Canada. Help from Staples was to replace the phone. Speakout will not support phones they don't sell. Speakout rents bandwidth from Rogers and Rogers has no interest in helping.
Blackberry customer service has changed a lot since I bought the playbook, some years ago. I accessed help via Twitter. They had me go through the trouble shooter at http://docs.blackberry.com/en/smartphone_users/deliverables/48934/rok1377705513159.jsp#rok1377705513... with no success. Then they suggested I access their phone support, which costs $50 with no promise of success. They suggest provider pay the $50. As above, not much chance of this.
Then I found this forum. Thanks for the suggestions. Based on them, I tried opening the browser. No connection.
I learned how to install Android apps and installed Wifi Manager and WiFi Analyzer. Returned to the Apple store yesterday. Neither WiFi Manager or WiFi Analyzer sees the Apple router. Ipod touch, Ipad, Android phone etc. see it with no problems.
    Suggestions?
Could be a Radio problem, you could wait for the OS 10.3 upgrade coming out shortly.

  • Cisco Network Assistant(CNA) not connecting to access points.

When I create a community with CNA, it finds the 2960 switch and connects to it.  However it shows "connection failed" for all the 702i access points.  Not sure why it shows connection failed.  Any help would be appreciated.
Also, if I try to connect directly to the access point thru CNA, it says not accessible.
    Thanks.

It will be helpful for other community members to know the solution and cause, if can be shared.

  • My eprinter is telling me that my network name (ssid) does not match my access point network name.

I am using an HP photosmart D110a  ePrinter  with an ipad2 and I have inadvertently altered the network name (ssid) to the point that the wireles network test report says "that the (ssid) does not match my addess point network name (ssid) exactly." What do I do to put things right again?

Input the correct SSID into the printer and connect.

  • SG200-26P not powering three access points.

    Hello,
I just purchased a Cisco SG200-26P to power three Ubiquiti UAP-LR-3 UniFi AP that are going in a new small network. I added the three AP’s to port 1, 2, and 3 and they are not powering up off the POE switch. I got into the switch and I don’t see anything that stands out for them to not power up. The AP’s work powered up with POE injectors.
    Thanks,
    Minitrucker007

    Hi Minitrucker,
SG200-26P is 802.3af compliant but from what I manage to read Ubiquiti UAP-LR is not 802.3af/at compliant, correct me if I am wrong as I did not really find the datasheet for your specific AP.  This would mean that the AP would need the injector or specific switch rather than any. As it uses non standard PoE.

  • NCS 1.1 not showing any access points

    Hi,
I have NCS 1.1 appliance and added a 5508 WLC running 6.0.199.4 code using snmpv3. Controller is added to NCS, but it doesnt show any AP's which are there on the controller. AP count is zero. I have another controller with code 7.0.230 added and showing AP's though. AP model is 1252. Any idea why this might be ?
    regards
    Joe

Leo is suggesting that your wlc isn't sending the info. Have you tried to remove and add the wlc again? NCS dies support that code version on the wlc, but you never know.

  • Access Points not overwritten when restoring a bac...

    Hi people,
Seems like the new and still buggy firmware of the E70 has another problem.
Before restoring a backup, if you do not remove the Access Point definitions (only operator Access Points, not Wi-Fi or others), the restore does not overwrite the definitions and makes new copies of the Access Points.
That would be OK if we could remove the extra Access Points but we cannot. When you delete one of the copies, it seems like it is removed but its definition is still somewhere on the phone, so while "Connection Settings" program cannot see it, all programs that use Access Points can see it (but cannot use it because it is a stale record).
Does anyone know where this info is stored so, if I forget to remove them before restoring a backup, I can remove them afterwards?

Welcome to the many problems of the LAPAC1750. I finally gave up and went with Ubnt. Uptime is at 75 days now and would've been longer if not for a firmware update.
The LAPAC had good range and worked well when it worked, but it's unstable to be marketed right now. Hopefully Linksys issues a firmware update to fix everything.

  • Wireless bridging is not working in 1552 outdoor access point and 2602e indoor access point.

After then I made one Cisco 1552 EU-M-K9 outdoor access point as RAP, then connect to this RAP with one 2602 mesh access point. But its not working, mesh access point is just start scan the signal to get associate with RAP, but not getting established. • Access Points not joining WLC

    Hello All,
I am trying to deploy several AIR-CAP3502E-E-K9 access points from a cisco 5508 wire lan contoller running ver 7 code. However iam having difficulty regiserting the access points with the WLC. The wlc is connect to a 3650 switch, and each access point is connected to a 2960 switch.
Problem Solved. A bad update was not allowing the access points to get their correct firmware.

You need to provide what Leo stated, that would help a lot. Anyways you can't telnet or ssh into a capwap AP if it has not joined the WLC. So that being said, provide the info Leo requested and then console into the ap and provide use with output from the console. Make sure you reboot the AP and then start capturing the output for around 5 minutes.

  • N800 no longer detecting any wireless access point

The device is working fine couple days ago, then today when I turn it on, the "connection manager" can no longer see any wireless access point. Not only my home network, also
my neighbor's wlan. My laptop can detect 10 networks
around my house. I try upgrad my os to the latest version and it is still not working. Is anyone has similar experience ? Is it a hardware problem ? Any advice will be
    welcome.

It happened to my N800 too just a couple of days ago after I installed a number of applications. I have already removed those applications but the N800 still would not detect the access points that it usually detects with no problem.
It could not detect the WLAN inside our house even if the N800 was physically sitting on top of the router. It would intermittently detect my neighbor's WLAN (the one which I usually use) but it would not log on to it.
I tried removing the battery hoping to reset it but nothing changed.
It also would not connect to my PC via USB. The computer could not detect it. This one happened even before I installed those applications.

  • Need to disable AP mode multicast in 1231 series access point

    Hi
I have one controller 2504 and some 1200 series access points.I am using 3 SSID .I want to use two ssid in HREAP mode but HREAP mode is not showinh in access point because multicast is enabled on AP mode. Please see the below picture
I have disabled the multicast globally from CLI.
    config network multicast global disabled
Please help me in disabling the multicast so that i can set the access point in HREAP mode.
    Thanks ....

    Hi George
I have found a document in which it is mentioned which platform are supported..
These are the restrictions to remember while you use H-REAP.
Hybrid REAP is supported only on the 1130AG, 1140, 1240, 1250, 1260,           AP801, AP 802, 1040, and AP3550 APs and on the Cisco WiSM, Cisco 5500, 4400,           2100, 2500, Flex 7500 Series Controllers, the Catalyst 3750G Integrated           Wireless LAN Controller Switch, and the Controller Network Module for           Integrated Services Routers.
But why it is giving an remark on controller tab that multicast is not supported with HREAP on this platform ?
Is this the limitation of cisco 2504 controller or the limitation of 1231 access point ?
Does that mean i can use my SSID in HREAP mode if i am using 1231 series access point ?
    Thanks...
