MacLan Dial-up from PC

My WINDOWSXP box is trying to connect to a MAC OS 9 via dial-up Apple Remote Access connection. The MAC OS 9 box is set to answer all calls.
I dial-into the MAC and it appears to be connecting. It gets to "Registering this computer on the network", and then I get the following error pop-up:
Checking network protocol connections....
TCP/IP CP reported error 733: A connection.....
What am I doing wrong?

I'm not convinced you have properly set up your WDS. The symptoms you describe:
- Airport Admin Utility only "sees" one Base Station at a time
- you cannot establish a dialup connection unless your Mac is actually connected to the main base station (A)
... indicates that none of these Base Stations are actually able to communicate with each other with the way you have currently configured them.
I suggest you review the basics again at:

  • How to - Dial ext from AA, xfer to overhead page, play recording; then DirCallPark

I have a customer who is replacing a Toshiba system with UCM-BE / Unity Connection.  Toshiba has the following functionality:
External caller dials extension from AA, a pre-recorded annoucement is played on the overhead paging system, then caller is parked at a specific extension.
Is there a way to duplicate this with Unity Connection (7.1.3)?  No problem transferring to a Directed Call Park number, but what about the additional step of dialing the paging DN and playing a recording?

If I follow your scenario, this is not possible with CUCM/CUC.  You may be able to do something like this with UCCX but that may be a little overkill.

  • How do I create a dial link from a hotspot on an image in Dreamweaver CS5?

I understand how to create a link from text, or from an image, but I need to create a link within the image map so that clients on their cell phones can call by clicking on my chosen hotspot. Any suggestions?

Right, thanks. I've had to adapt it and create 2 more duplicate contact images, for the other small screens as the image maps are too large on the smaller screens. But I managed to get it to work how I want. Thank you.
But I can't figure out how to do the tel: link. I've tried so many variations. But when I update the website, and try it on my mobile phone (which by the way, is not an iPhone, it's just a Samsung Tocco Lite), the tel: links won't work, both on the images, and the raw text. My phone just keeps coming up with an error message, saying: "Invalid Phone Number".
    The text tel: links are: <div class="PhoneNumber"><a href="tel:+64-09-537-1458">09537 1458</a></div>
I've had to put the phone numbers in seperate div tags, that way, I can hide each div tag, according to the layout for the screen sizes.
    And the image tel: links are: <area shape="rect" coords="6,36,110,59" href="tel:+649537 1458" />
As you can see, both these tel: links are different, but both don't work.
Is there something I've done wrong to make the error message pop-up instead of dialing the number? Or is it the case of it being my mobile phone that doesn't support it. How can I correct it in each instance if it is the case, so that it will work on all forms of mobile phones?
Please note that I am in New Zealand, and the country code is 64. and 09 is the area code.
    Thanks.
Edit: It doesn't matter now. I've managed to figure it out, and it now works on my phone.

  • NOT RECEIVING THE COMPLETE DIALED STRING FROM AN ISDN TRUNK PBX - AS5850

    Hi
The problem i'm facing is the next:
I have a Cisco AS5850 with an Euro ISDN trunk connected to a PBX. The pbx send out the calls in order the A5850 terminate these calls in a remote gateway. I receive only a maximum of 12 digits of the complete string dialed in a phone hooked up in the PBX side.
Is it normal to receive only a max of 12 digits or there is something to do to receive as much digits as those come from the PBX??
    My dial-peer looks like this:
    dial-peer voice 13 pots
    incoming called-number 0T
    destination-pattern 0T
    direct-inward-dial
    port 2/7:D
    dial-peer voice 14 voip
    destination-pattern 0T
    session target ipv4:209.210.174.17
    tech-prefix 1051
    fax rate 9600
    fax protocol t38 ls-redundancy 2 hs-redundancy 2 fallback none
and the output from the debug dialpeer is this:
    1w4d: destination pattn: 1234567891 expanded string: 1234567891
    1w4d: MatchNextPeer: Peer 7 matched
    1w4d: MatchNextPeer: Peer 8 matched
    1w4d: dpMatchPeersMoreArg: Result=0 after MATCH_ORIGINATE
Thanks in advance for your help!
    Oscar

Do a debug isdn q931 and see what comes in from the PBX. Post it here so we can see. They could be sending the digits using overlap sending , so the intial setup may not have all the digits that you want or need.
Also, your VOIP and POTS dial peers have the same destination pattern. There is nothing stopping an inwards ISDN call from being hairpinned back out the PRI if it has a leading 0. You might want to make your dial plan a bit more specific.

  • How to dial phone # from calendar

I am very frustrated that I can't seem to dial a phone number I entered as an event in my calendar with just a tap. Yet, lo and behold, I go onto the Apple site and I see this:
"Using Multi-Touch on iPhone makes the Calendar application intuitive and simple to use. Tap to create and send out meeting invites, accept or decline a meeting invitation, or dial a phone number from meeting notes."
What does this mean? Where? I regularly set up the phone numbers of people I need to call in Calendar and, so far, I can do this on any phone but can't figure out how to do this from the iPhone. Is this feature only available in "meeting notes?" Where is that? Is it visible on your calendar? If it isn't, who cares?

Yes, only in the Notes. Meaning, if you or whoever organized the meeting enters a phone number in the Notes field, you can tap the number to dial it. The field is only present if notes were entered - for example, you can enter notes when creating a new event on the iPhone; for Outlook invitations sent via Exchange, text entered into the 'body' of the calendar event are Notes. It +does not+ work for numbers entered the location field (which is how most of my invites are, unfortunately).
You can submit feedback to Apple: http://www.apple.com/feedback/iphone.html.

  • Sharing Dial-up from a PC wirelessly via Wi-Fi to a MacBook

Hey Mac fans! I'm writing this from a PC laptop because I'm currently on vacation at a resort which doesn't have ethernet or Wi-Fi in the rooms, or anywhere else, really. So... my only way to access the Internet is through good ol' dial-up.
On to my question: Is there any way to share dial-up coming through a PC laptop wirelessly through Wi-Fi/Airport to a MacBook? Unfortunately, I didn't buy the Apple USB Modem for the newly purchased MacBook because I've heard many bad reports of it causing fatal errors.
    Just to recap:
I need to share a dial-up connection which is going into a PC laptop. Using Wi-Fi/Airport, I need to share this Internet connection from the PC laptop to my MacBook.
Also, if it helps, the PC is running Windows XP SP2. I've tried just about everything to try and get this to work, but to no avail.
    Thanks for your help!

Yes using Internet Connection Sharing ICS

  • Dialing extension from a Directory Handler

We have configured a unique directory handler on our Cisco Unity server to allow incoming callers to search from a directory.  However, when he selects an employee from the directory, when it dials it goes straight into his voice mailbox.  Is there a way to configure the directory handler to forward the call to the phone for the employee they select rather than straight into voice mail?  Thanks for your help!

You need to update the transfer settings for each Subscriber to ring an extension vs. go directly to greeting.  If you want to update all (or a number of) Subscribers for this, you can do that using Bulk Edit.  For an individual Subscriber, this option is under the transfer settings.

  • Does CUOM v2.3 monitor the dialer process from an ICM PG

    Hi.
Does anyone know if CUOM vers 2.3 is able to directly monitor a 'Dialer Process' on a PG (ICM vers 7.2(5))?
From the screen-shot below it seems to be able to monitor all other PG related Processes without issues...
    Thanks,
    Niall

Just for the record, TAC have told me that there is no support for the 'dialer process' for any release of CUOM (current or future).
There is however aleerting for the PIM's which kind of gets around this!
    Cheers

  • Does anyone know of an excellerator that I can down load to speed up my entire internet connection. I have dial up from windstream,i live in middle of no-where,KY and dont have access to high-speed intewrnet here, PLEASE HELP.

My internet connection is very slow dial up thru windstream and they dont offer high speed where i live and neither does anyone except Hughes Net,but they are way to expensive. Not an option for me at this time. I used to have dial-up thru southeast telephone and they gave me an excellerator that sped up everything.

Thanks for taking the time to respond to my question. No windstream doesnt offer that,i asked and they have no intention to do that in the near future. They plan on offering highspeed to everyone in the future, but as of now they dont offer it in my area and have no plans of replacing the phone lines in my area anytime soon either. so until they replace the lines in my area, its not available . I am glad you told me that i cant add it ...Doug

  • SIP CUBE - unable dial extension from Unity CH

    Hello,
I have stumbled on an issue.  We have a site running SIP services and I have a 2911 Cisco router running CUBE.  There is a DID on the SIP service that points to a Unity Call Handler.  When I hit the greeting for that Unity Call Handler and then dial an extension (option if you know your parties extension...) the phone call will either drop or at times, ring the extension but if not picked... will drop when the call should go that users voicemail greetings. I translated a spare DID on our PRI to point to the same Call Handler and found this was not an issue.   I then checked our other SIP sites and found those have the same problem.
    Running CM 8.5
    Unity Connections 8.5
Any idea's??  SIP CUBE is new to me so I may be missing something in the config??

That's working as designed, Unity won't recognize any DN which is not already configured on some Unity element.
If you need to reach non-unity DNs send callers to a caller system transfer.

    Hi there,
You're running an old version of Safari. Before troubleshooting, try updating it to the latest version: 6.0. You can do this by clicking the Apple logo in the top left, then clicking Software update.
You can also update to the latest version of OS X, 10.8 Mountain Lion, from the Mac App Store for $19.99, which will automatically install Safari 6 as well, but this isn't essential, only reccomended.
Thanks, let me know if the update helps,

  • Dialing direct from PDF

    Hi guys,
We have just switched our fleet from iOS devices to Android devices and we are having a real issue with sending PDF's with phone numbers contained in them.  With iOS, basically any number that fit the format would be recognised as a phone number and could be dialled directly from the app.
With the Android app I'm struggling to find a format that allows us to do this.
    I've tried adding it as:
    tel://00000000
    tel://+00000000
    +00000000
    00000000
Unfortunately most of the guys create these PDF's using Word and then printing to PDF (using PDF creator) though they do have access to Acrobat Professional if it is required.
    Any help is greatly appreciated!
    Thanks
    -Matt

    Hi!
Adobe Reader on Android currently doesn't support this feature. We just support http links currently. We have taken note of your feature request and would try to address this in one of our future releases.
