Macos lyon cisco anyconnect problem

hi all
with Lyon, web deployment of Cisco AnyConnect Secure Mobility Client software is not possible anymore. Secure Desktop stops working.
Snow Leopard worked fine!
when installing with an install image (not web deployment), the AnyConnect software works as expected.
tnx for any hints.

There's a built-in Cisco VPN client. Use that instead.

  • Problem installing Cisco AnyConnect Secure Mobility Client

    Hello,
When attempting to install the Cisco AnyConnect Secure Mobility Client, I get the following message: "There is a problem with this Windows Installer package. A program run as part of the setup did not finish as expected. Contact your support personnel or package vendor."
Well, my support personnel haven't been able to assist. I am attaching the setupapi.dev file I was told could help in troubleshooting. Any help is greatly appreciated!
    Thank you in advance.

do you have the xml assigned in the group policy on the ASA?  I know the scripting behavior changed between anyconnect 2.5 and 3.1.  AnyConnect 2.5 only required the xml profile locally but 3.1 requires the xml with EnableScripting = true to be assigned to the group policy.

  • Cisco AnyConnect connection problem over WiFi

    Hi guys,
I'm having some problem with Cisco AnyConnect connections.
hardware: ASA 5515-x with AnyConnect Essentials.
    software:  ASA Software Version 9.1(2)8
                    anyconnect-win-3.1.05187-k9.pk
                    Internet Explorer 11 on computers
    Problem:
Can't connect with the AnyConnect WebLaunch on WiFi.
it's stucked for about 20sec at "Please wait while the VPN connections is established"
Then we get this error message "The IPsec VPN connection was terminated due to an atuchentication failure or timeout...."
If I click Connect in the AnyConnect Client it connects and I login with my credentials without any problem.
First thought was that my test-computer was the problem, but have tried with 3 different PCs with different hardware.
If i plugg in a network cable it works perfect with the WebLaunch.
Has anyone experience the same problem and have a solution?
    Thanks in advance!
    br
    Robin
    Update:
I still go the problem, I've updated our FW to ASA9.2(2.4).
Anyone have a clue? It works good on two of our ASA5505.

The Windows Vista PC that were having problem connecting via AnyConnect, were they an upgrade from Windows XP? If they are, and they have AnyConnect installed prior, it needs to be uninstall prior to upgrading to Windows Vista as per the AnyConnect release notes:
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/partner/docs/security/vpn_client/anyconnect/anyconnect24/release/notes/anyconnect24rn.html
Also, you might want to double check that the Vista is either with SP2 or Vista SP 1 with KB952876.

  • XE connection problem after using Cisco AnyConnect Client

    Hello
I have a rather annoying problem connecting to an XE instance AFTER I have disconnected from a VPN via a Cisco AnyConnect VPN Agent.
    Sequence of operations:
    - start Oracle XE and work normally
    - connect to client's vpn
    - do other stuff
    - DISCONNECT from Client's VPN
-> unable to connect to XE service any more, unless I reboot
The problem does not happen with other vpn clients like Cisco VPN Service, Juniper, Checkpoint.
    Details:
    - sqlplus connection WITH service name (eg sqlplus user/pwd@XE): FAILURE with ORA-12170
    - but...sqlplus connection WITHOUT service name (eg sqlplus user/pwd): SUCCESS (weird !)

  • Problem using SunRay with Cisco AnyConnect VPN Client

I am using Cisco AnyConnect VPN Client Version 2.5.3046
I  have a PC and a SunRay connected to my router. I use VPN to connect my  SunRay and my PC to my work computer. My PC works fine, I am able to  connect to the internet and also run cisco VPN to connect to my work  computer. But when I try to use my SunRay, I get a window on the screen  with the message:
VPN IKE Phase 1 agg I msg1This window  keeps moving around on the screen. I am not able to connect my SunRay  through VPN to my work computer. Any idea what could be wrong and how I  can fix this?

    2.2 is definitely better.
On one PC, I'm fine. On another -- very similar -- it tells me it can't start the VPN even after uninstalling and re-installing and everything else I can think of, with plenty of re-boots inbetween.
    Aaaaarrrrrrggggggghhhh.

  • Cisco AnyConnect VPN won't install, says There is a newer version of the AnyConnect client already installed

I had an issue with my Cisco Anyconnect VPN not working, so uninstalled it. I've tried a new install and now I get the message "There is a newer version of the AnyConnect client installed" and it won't tell me install it at all. I've gone through various recommendations on the site included this :-
Go to "Regedit" and search for "Deterministic Networks" and delete it.
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \SOFTWARE\Deterministic Networks
Search with the following keywords in the registry, under "Uninstall" or  "Components" folders and delete any related entries.
    Vpnapi
    Vpngui
    Cisco
    CVPND
    CVPNDRA
    Ipsecdialer

  • Cisco AnyConnect WEB/SSL VPN - does not launch after Apple's security update on Mac OS 10.7 and 10.6

    AnyConnect version: 2.5.2001
Mac OS versions: 10.7.2 and 10.6.8
We used to invoke Cisco AnyConnect VPN via the Safari browser for the SSL URL and it used to work fine on Mac OS 10.6 and 10.7. Apple released a security update on 8/Nov/2011 (see: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5045) and after applying the update, invoking AnyConnect from the browser no longer invokes the AnyConnect application on the machine. The browser stops at this page repeatedly:
I have installed AnyConnect on my machine and am able to invoke it explicitly, but browser login just fails to do that. I have tried re-installing AnyConnect, but the problem still persists.
Any help would be highly appreciated as we are in a show-stopped situation because of this issue.
    Thanks
    Vivek.

This is an old issue, but I ran into it continually this month while trying to use AnyConnect on my Mac 10.8+ version.
    For me, the solution was:
I realized that I should have seen a pop-up warning me about the dangers of using Java etc. etc but it seemed as if my computer was blocking it automatically without giving me the option.
I went to the Java page (Java.com) and clicked on "Do I have Java?" The plug-in was inactive, so clicking it allowed me to check that my Java was up to date. Going back to my AnyConnect, this time, it seemed to go through and give me all the pop-ups allowing me to allow Java.

  • CTRANSPORT_ERROR_TIMEOUT with Cisco AnyConnect Secure Mobility Client 3.1.05170

  • Cisco anyconnect 3.1 - Certificate Validation Failure.

When i try to start a SSL VPN connection to the ASA(8.4) with anyconnect 3.1, Cisco anyconnect receives a message saying "No Valid Certificates Available for Authentication".
    Prior to the test;
On the ASA, i have obtain CA certificate and its identity certificate. (Both certificates obtain from windows 2008 CA).
              * ASA identity certificate's have EKU attribute = Server Authentication,   Key Usage = Digital Signature, Key Encipherment.
On the PC in which anyconnect installed, i have obtain User Certificate (this User certificate also obtain from the same windows 2008 CA)
              * Prior to obtaining User certificate from the windows2008 CA, ASA acts as a SCEP proxy onbehalf of the client PC.
              * User Certificate's has EKU attribute = Client Authentication.
As in the ASDM Logs, it almost work.
    In days of troubleshooting, i still could not find the cause of this problem. Error message as appeared on anyconnect;
    Is there anyone could help.???

Just run into this as well. We have CRL checking turned on. Turned out to be the CRL server was down. But that was the same message I got when the client wouldn't connect.

  • Cisco AnyConnect Secured Mobility Client not saving the VPN url after disconnecting from session/restarting client

    Hello there.
I am having a problem with Cisco AnyConnect version 3.1.04072. When one of my colleagues disconnects from the VPN session, closes out the program, and then later on, reopens the client, the address that he manually entered did not save and it's defaulting on the two now-defunct VPN servers listed.
Here's an example to see if it makes more sense:
-User opens Cisco AnyConnect. By default, there are two selections available on the pulldown:
    SSLVPN.abcdefg.com
    access.abcdefg.ca
These two VPN servers are now defunct and we use a new VPN server:
    access.abcdefg.com
The user has to manually type it in. He is now able to connect. However, when disconnected. Regardless if the program is closed or not, it does not save the new VPN server address, rather goes back to the default two VPN servers listed.
I've checked XML, HTML, registry keys, sys files, dll files to see if I can change the default servers manually. No sign of it.
I'm hoping that someone out there knows a solution to fix it.
    Thanks in advance!

    Hi Vergel ,
You can create Anyconnect client profile on ASA. In this profile , you can define the hostname/IP that you wish to connect , along with hostname/IP that should be displayed on the client.
In the client profile , you can define these parameters - "HostName" and "HostAddress" as "access.abcdefg.com" so that any user , who tries to connects , will see "access.abcdefg.com" as the name displayed in the anyconnect connect field.
On the client, the xml profile (C:\ProgramData\Cisco\Cisco AnyConnect Secure Mobility Client\Profile) [Win 7] can be seen using those parameters as follows:-
            <HostEntry>
                <HostName>access.abcdefg.com</HostName>
                <HostAddress>access.abcdefg.com</HostAddress>
            </HostEntry>
    Ref:- http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/security/vpn_client/anyconnect/anyconnect30/administration/guide/anyconnectadmin30/ac03vpn.html#89103
Additionally, you can try to delete preferences.xml file to remove the redundant hostnames from the anyconnect connect filed.
Path for preferences.xml is C:\Users\Cisco\AppData\Local\Cisco\Cisco AnyConnect Secure Mobility Client (Win 7),
    Hope this helps.

  • AD Machine Authentication with Cisco ISE problem

    Hi Experts,
I am new with ISE, I have configured ISE & Domain computers for PEAP authentication. initially machine gets authenticated and then starts going MAB.
    Authentication policy:
Allowed protocol = PEAP & TLS
    Authorization Policy:
Condition for computer to be checked in external identity store (AD) = Permit access
Condition for users to be checked in external identity store (AD) plus WasMachineAuthenticated = permit access
All of the above policies do match and download the ACL from ISE but computer starts to mab authentication again...
    Switchport configuration:

One more problem about the "authentication open" and default ACL. Once the authentication succeeds and per user is ACL pushed though ISE to the switch. The default ACL still blocks communication on this switchprort.
    Your help will highly appreciated.
    Regards,

You need to watch the switch during an authentication, see if the machine is passing authentication and the user may be failing authentication causing the switch to fail to mab.  If your switch configuration is on auth failure continue to next method, then this makes sense.  The question is why is the user failing auth but the machine is passing, could be something in the policy.  Make sure your AD setup has machine authentciation checked or it may not tie the machine and user auth together and the user may be failing because ISE can't make that relationship so the machinewasauth=true is not beeing matched.  Easy way to check is remove that rule from your policy and see if the same thing happens.
I've also seen this happen when clients want to use EAP-TLS on the wired, machines passes auth, then the user logs into a machine for the first time.  The user auth kicks off before the user gets a cert and fails auth with a null certificate, since this is a auth failure the switchport kicks over to MAB.
I don't think wasmachineauth=true is that great, I prefer to use EAP-FASTv2 using Cisco Anyconnect NAM with eap-chaining.  This is great because you can do two part authentication.  EAP-FAST outer with EAP-TLS inner for the machine auth, and MSCHAPv2 for the inner of the user auth. You get your EAP-TLS auth for the machine and don't have to worry about a user logging into a machine for the first time and switching to MAB because the user doesn't have a cert yet.  I also do my rule to say if machine pass and user fail, then workstaion policy, if machine and user pass then corp policy.
