Macpro 5,1 installed yosemite, now no ethernet

I have a mid-2010 MacPro, 12-core 2.66Ghz, 22GB RAM. It has 2 drives installed: one runs Mavericks 10.9.5, the other runs Yosemite 10.10. When I boot in Mavericks, everything is fine. When I boot into Yosemite, there is no ethernet at all. When I first installed it, ethernet worked fine--I installed App Store apps, Adobe CC apps and my audio interface (Fireface UFX) driver.
I've tried:
- renewing DHCP lease
- creating new location, removing all services except "Ethernet 1"
- manually entering DHCP address
- numerous reboots
- unplugging all unnecessary devices
My router is a Netgear Nighthawk R7000 with the latest firmware. I monitor it with an MBP/Mavericks.
As a test, I tried enabling Wi-Fi--no networks show up, though I'm connected wirelessly right now on my MBP.
I'm competent on the command line, so don't be afraid to suggest more complex fixes.

FOUND A SOLUTION! (SOLVED)
you have to manually delete the following files:
SYSTEM DRIVE ▸ Library ▸ Extensions > CalDigitHDProDrv.kext
SYSTEM DRIVE ▸ System ▸ Library ▸ Extensions > CalDigitFastIO.kext
SYSTEM DRIVE ▸ System ▸ Library ▸ Extensions > CalDigitUSBxHCI.kext
also the Inateck KT4004 PCI-E card for Apple Mac Pro (4-Ports, USB 3.0) works far better for way less money and faster USB 3.0 speed and even USB 3.0 hubs work and the card does not need any extra internal power supply! go for it ... forget the CalDigit FASTA! Keep in mind tho' if you have to delete dose files as well to use that card!

Installed Yosemite, now my MacBook Pro is running slow and the FileVault keeps saying estimating time remaining.

I installed Yosemite and since then the system has been running slow. I chose to use FileVault and it says it's encrypting but keeps saying estimating time remaining. I've tried repair permission and restarting my computer. Saw some other threads with similar problem and ran diskutil cs list which showed 80% the first time and now says failed. I also did an Entre Check and here are the results.

Please answer as many of the following questions as you can. You may already have answered some of them; in that case, there's no need to repeat the answers.
Restart the router and the broadband device, if they're separate. Any change?
Run Software Update and install all available updates for OS X or the computer's firmware. Any change?
Are you connected to Ethernet as well as Wi-Fi? If so, disconnect the Ethernet cable or adapter and test.
If possible, connect to the router with an Ethernet cable and turn off Wi-Fi. Any difference?
If you can connect to more than one network, are they all the same?
Are all network applications affected, or only some? If only some, which ones?
Is networking always the same, or is the problem intermittent?
Disconnect all other devices from the network. Any change?
If you're running a MacBook with the lid closed, open the lid. Any difference?
Start up in safe mode and test. Any difference?
Start up in Recovery mode. From the OS X Utilities screen, select Get Help Online. A clean copy of Safari will launch. No plugins, such as Flash, will be available. Any difference?
If possible, turn off Bluetooth and disconnect any USB 3 devices. Any difference?

Installed Yosemite, now no displays are recognised anymore

Hi, I have a Mac Book Pro, Retina, late 2013 model. The screen sometimes flickers. I also find problems when connecting to a projector or television, either with HDMI or via Thunderbold/VGA. I installed OS X Yosemite, hoping the problems would be solved, but now projectors/televisions are not being recognized at all anymore.
I tried to solve the problem couple of months ago, apple technicians told me it was a software problem and swiped my whole HD installing new software, but now it happens again.
I am working in Rwanda, so no apple support here, so I hope someone has some good advices.

Installed Yosemite - Now 13 MBP Retina runs hot...

Curious if anyone else is noticing this?
I did the upgrade install and it went smoothly. Now, however there is heat generated at the bottom of the laptop.
That was the one of the things I always loved about this machine - there was NEVER any heat at all (very uncommon for laptops).
I've completely shutdown and brought back up (booting seem faster now btw) only to find the machine running warm again after a few mins. Activity monitor shows nothing strange... and I have no other apps running during testing.. just the OS itself.

It was an upgrade install over Mavericks. It certainly should not persist more than a few hours at most. Check Activity Monitor for the presence of any obviously burdensome processes.
If nothing obvious appears, the usual next step is an SMC reset. Read all the steps including the ones preceding it, which may alleviate the problem.
Before Resetting the SMC
Try each of the following steps in this order before you reset the SMC. Test the issue after completing each troubleshooting step to determine if the issue still occurs.
Press Command + Option + Escape to force quit any application that is not responding.
Put your Mac to sleep by choosing the Apple () menu from the upper-left menu bar and then choosing Sleep. Wake the computer after it has gone to sleep.
Restart your Mac by choosing the Apple () menu from the upper-left menu bar and then choosing Restart.
Shut down your Mac by choosing the Apple () menu from the upper-left menu bar and then choosing Shut Down.
Resetting the SMC on portables with a battery you should not remove on your own
Shut down the computer.
Plug in the MagSafe power adapter to a power source, connecting it to the Mac if it's not already connected.
On the built-in keyboard, press the (left side) Shift-Control-Option keys and the power button at the same time. The power adapter indicator light may cycle off / on once.
Release all the keys and the power button at the same time.
Press the power button to turn on the computer.

Installed Yosemite...Mac won't turn off.

Installed yosemite, now my mac won’t turn off completely. All apps are off. After choosing shut down, It doesn’t shut the white light. It looks like it’s in power down mode. But nothing will turn it back on except having to hold down the power button to completely turn it off in Yosemite. then pressing it again to turn it back on. Help!!!!

Reinstalling OS X Without Erasing the Drive
Boot to the Recovery HD: Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
Reinstalling OS X Without Erasing the Drive
Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions: Upon startup select Disk Utility from the main menu. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions as follows.
When the recovery menu appears select Disk Utility and press the Continue button. After Disk Utility loads select the Macintosh HD entry from the the left side list. Click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If Disk Utility reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit Disk Utility and return to the main menu.
Reinstall OS X: Select Reinstall OS X and click on the Continue button.
Note: You will need an active Internet connection. I suggest using Ethernet if possible because it is three times faster than wireless.

I recently did a system update and installed Yosemite on my Mac. Now I am unable to open CS5 at all. The error message I get is this: "To open Adobe Photoshop CS5.1, you need to install legacy Java SE 6 runtime." I have tried downloading this and it still gives me the same mess

In the details it is mentioned that it is an outdated version of Java.
Is this a security risk that i need to live with to get CS5 to run with Yosemite?
Also i need to reject messages from Java in the future about updates, or not?

I have the same issue. My computer has also slowed down. I hope this isn't a malware. I haven't input my password into it, and dont know what I did to turn this on.

After Effects CS6 no longer works now I've installed Yosemite.

Hi since installing Yosemite on my 3.5 GHz 6-Core Intel Xeon E5 Late 2013 Mac Pro with 16 GB of Ram. I crashes on start up. I reinstalled and then updated to 11.0.4 and it still crashes although I think the error has changed. When I restart I get the error:

This is a big problem as After Effects is key to my business and right now I cannot use it.

Of course it is going to be slow. 2GB of RAM is the absolute minimum to install Yosemite. If you are going to do anything on the Mac we recommend that you install as a workable minimum 4GB.

@Naiks, having suffered through unsuccessful synching attempts for Calendar and Contacts myself, l would suggest you try the following:
UNINSTALL iCloud control panel from your PC. Seems silly, but do it.
Go into Outlook, and look at the very top menu. Click FILE, then ACCOUNT SETTINGS, then click the popup box.
You will see a list of all your email accounts. Make sure that ONE of them has a checkmark against it. If not, select the account your want as your default, and click "set as default.
Exit out of Outlook and reboot your machine.
Now reinstall iCloud, check CALENDAR and CONTACTS, and do as instructed when prompted.
Reboot for good luck and now launch OUTLOOK. All that remains is to locate your iCloud Contacts and Calendar files, and make them your default.
IMPORTANT: Don't panic if you can't find your contacts -- they're there. Click CONTACTS and you'll see you have several available contact files. Locate the one label "iCloud" in grey type. Right-click on it, select PROPERTIES, then click the Outlook Address Book tab. Check the box that says something like "Make this my default Outlook Address Book." Keep clicking "apply" and "okay" until you've exited out of the dialog box maze.
You may have to do something similar with your Calendar files. I dd not, but if you need to, do it.
Everything should now sync pretty seamlessly.
I didn't have the exact same problem as you, but my dilemma was close enough. Good luck!

What happens if you use the Share button and select Mail?
What happens when you try? I had to hold there photo there for a short period before it would load.

Macpro 5,1 installed yosemite, now no ethernet
