MacPro users....benchmarks needed

I'm wondering if anyone can help me get some benchmarks with apps I use. Its tough to do this at the Apple store because they have limted apps and the systems are usually base RAM and one HD. Some tests I'd like:
1DmkII (or similar 8MP files) RAW CR2 files
Adobe DNG converter: How long to convert 50 CR2 files to DNGs with full size jpeg preview, compressed (lossless), Preserver RAW image, Don't embed original.
iViewMP: Time it takes to import these DNG files into a new catalog. Uncheck 'use embedded preview' in preferences (raw tab). Thumbnail and preview settings: 640pix, high quality, uncheck 'use built in...'; previews: check 'creat full screen', large (1280), med quality, uncheck display previews at all times.
Then make a html gallery from these 50 images: aqua theme, 4x4 index table, 100pix thnails, 450x450 medai size. (uncheck upload to server).

thats one reason why I wanted more data...the 1GB configs are not very accurate way to measure the system's capabilities. As for the benchmarks listed on that site, they are all vs MacPros. I'm going to be comparing to my Dual 867 which vs the MacPro does things in about 3x the amount of time. Not as slow as I anticipated.

Need advice using different macs together + macpro users: Attention Please!

Hello to all Logic-freaks:-)
I'm new on this forum and have a couple of questions.
For now I'm working on PC with CubaseSX3 mainly and I'm tired of software and hardware issues(worked on G4 3 years ago but finances led me logically to pc...)
As I can't run into buying the new MacPro(wich I want to) I thought getting a MiniMac or new Imac with Logic Express, so I could learn the new soft and MacOSX's working flow, while getting my actual PC-projects done, and then get Logic Pro and bigger machine Mac.
I wonder if:
1.) I have a Imac and then a MacPro, can I use the Imac as a node and the screen of the Imac as a second screen for Logic Pro on the MacPro?
2.) I have a minimac and decide to get an Imac extra instead of a Macpro, could the Imac accept the minimac as a node,or is the node-thing reserved to Macpro's(Or Powermac G5's)
Besides that I have some Windows-only apps and plugins wich I want to keep and if I first buy a "little" mac like mini or Imac I know I could run Bootcamp and link the machine,using pc-vst plugins with the bigger Macpro to have a kind of "cross-OS"-power setup.
BUT, attention to all of you considering buying a Macpro:
I just browsed through this forum for XP on mac and I followed a link,leading to a benchmark of XP running on Macpro(and talking about the future Quad-core also) and XP running on Intel Conroe's(same as Minimac and Imac,if I got it right?): now look at the conclusions and you will see that the Single Conroe Dualcore OUTPERFORMS THE DOUBLE XEON DUALCORE when rendering and encoding/decoding mp3's, wich are the only applications in the benchmark related to audio-processing, and that could be the Fully Buffered Memory in the Xeon's causing latencies(wich I happen to HATE when it's about music making on the computer)....now that brings up some serious doubts in me, wich lead us to the third question:
-Knowing this, I'd like to know from as many Macpro users possible, if they are experiencing latency troubles or any kind of hardware related trouble in using large sessions,with lots of audiotracks and virtual instruments?
Knowing that the tests were performed with Bootcamp, could there be a significant difference under OSX?
Does this mean I'd have to wait some kind of hardware/driver update?
How is the stability with the new Macpros and Logic(or other softs) anyway?Are their lots of crashes due to the freshness of the product?

There are several questions there, and several misunderstandings.
Some answers to some of the questions:
- no, you can't use the screen of the iMac as a second screen for the Mac Pro
- yes, you can use almost any recent Mac as a node, but it's best if the nodes are connected with gigabit ethernet. Logic Node (Distributed Audio Processing) has some significant limitations - it's best overall to get a fast computer, and not use Distributed Audio if possible.
Now for the misunderstandings. Do not confuse rendering and encoding/decoding MP3 with 'audio'. It's got little to do with the kind of processing involved in Logic. And don't confuse RAM latency with audio latency. RAM latency has no effect on audio latency.
Latency in a DAW, whether you're referring to monitoring latency recording audio, or latency playing virtual instruments, is almost entirely determined by the size of the audio buffer used. A much smaller component of the latency is the latency of the link to the audio interface (usually Firewire these days), and the inherent latency of the A/D and D/A converters in the audio interface.

Yes, but then it all has to be done using a script. You can't use the built-in Open A File command.

Macbook Pro story... Win to Mac user Help needed!!

I have been a windows user for many a year now, always satisfied with the OS but never pleased. Too many things go wrong with windows and I hate all the system registry bull. That and the dreaded viruses and popups.
I have spent a couple of years now looking across the water at you mac users, since my brother purchased his mac mini I have been droolling over the design and look of the macs. When Apple released the Intel based machines I pricked my ears up hoping that Vista would support EFI so I could dual boot. This was dashed when it was anounced that Vista would stick with BIOS.
I was back to square one then. You see I wanted the design of mac and the stability of OSX with the backup of windows. Being a school teacher I need windows to sync with the interactive whiteboards and other kids based programs.
My prayers were finally answered when apple released Boot Camp. It was beyond my dreams that apple would take such a bold step and open up there computers to the likes of me.
So after hours of pondering and reading through the posts on this forum I finally took the plunge, rushed down to my apple store in Brum and with the educational discount walked away with a Macbook for £1636.68. I was pleased and poohing myself at the same time having spent that kind of money (being a student teacher means money is tight!).
So I got the thing home and was amazed at its design and looks, it truely is a fantastic looking machine. Turning it on for the first time I was very apprehensive, all the posts about whine and heat had made me very nervous. After going through the setup and taking half an hour to get my WIFI working I finally started to play with it.
The whine was there and the heat, two things that I had been dreading, the heat did not bother me one bit. It was hot, very hot in places, but how often do you touch the bar across the top of the keyboard? I think this is a good place to allow the heat to disipate, I have worked on laptops where your blood starts to boil beacause the area where your plams rest is so hot. The whine did annoy me, it seems so strange that my computer made more noise when is was not doing anything compared to when it was. The photobooth fix worked perfectly which I figured i could live with until a proper fix is released. Plus I have read that windows does not have this problem so it must be software related.
As I was going skiing for a week i figured it would be ideal for me to take my computer to get to grips with OSX. Thats what I did and can I tell you that I was more than impressed, I really did not understand the comment people (including my bro) mad,e, 'it just works'. Until I spent a day using it, programs open up seamlessly and you can have several high powered programs running at the same time with no lag at all, fascinating.
I came back from holiday (last saturday) loving my new machine and ready to install boot camp plus start transferring my old files. Then, and this is where it gets interesting, I read a couple of posts about apple's Higher Education site and the amazing discounts it gives.
I can tell you that right now I am pretty ****** off, before i bought my mac I intentionally asked the guys in store if there was any way I could get a macbook for cheaper, online or anywhere. I was told that the maximum discount i could get was 8% off the comp and 17.5% off applecare. Now I discover that if i had purchased through my uni, I could have got 15% off my Macbook and applecare for only £60! Can you see why I'm a touch upset?
Any ideas on what I can do? I have had the computer for less than 14 days, I love it to bits and don't really want to take it back, plus if I do will I be charged a restocking fee? It seems it would still be cheaper to do this but what do you guys think? thanks for your help.
The reason for the long post is i wanted to get across how pleased I am with my macbook pro and OSX, if anyone has any doubts to buying one don't they are fantastic and OSX is a breath of fresh air, just remember the Higher Education store online if you are a student!

Another update guys.
Went into the apple store in Birmingham, UK, which is where I bought it. I explained the situation calmly and they were very sorry for the misunderstanding. They instantly said that they could not match the offer that found on the higher education store.
The option I had was to keep the machine or they would give me a full refund, even though I had had it for over a week and it had a scratch on the case! Was a little shocked that I was not charged a restocking fee! Anyway, now I have no mac at all and it will take a couple of days for the money to go back on my card. I was very sad to see it go, I had really grown attached to it and am now stuck on windows again!
Can I just say what fantastic service apple provide, I love the idea of simply taking your computer into the store to get a fix rather than Dell which is online only.
Now I have a problem, I like the new 17" but think it will be too big to lug from home to school, I would like the dual layered superdrive though. Do I wait for the macbook pro update? Will they come down in price as the 17" is cheaper than a matching 15"?

Can I transfer CC for Teams membership (Photoshop) to a new user on the same machine without uninstalling and reinstalling software? i.e. one user left new user started needing the same software.

We have Creative Cloud for Teams, most users using Photoshop. One user left the company and has been replaced by another user. I removed the first user's membership and assigend it to the new user. When she runs Photoshop, she gets a 00 Days left message. Photoshop still seems to be useable right now but I'm wondering if I need to uninstall Photoshop and re-install it using her credentials? Seems like a lto of unnecessary work to me.

There is no need for removal of the product . You can simply launch the product , click on Help>Sign out . Close the product and sign in with the new user's Adobe ID & Password. This should activate the product .

MIRO - Invoice Party - User Exit needed

Hi,
I have a requirement like this....
On MIRO tcode, the i need to put a condition if the user gives a Inv Party (3rd tab 'Details' on Header data of MIRO screen) other than the defalut one (vendor which comes by default with the PO)
Inputs to MIRO are :
1. invoice date on first tab of header data
2. Existign PO number in Purchase Order/Scheduling Agreement ( just below the header data block
3. in 3rd tab of header details (Details tab), on Inv.Party field, it takes the vendor number by default when we give the 2nd input (PO number)
Can any body tell, which function module exit to work with ?
PLEASE DO NOT GIVE ME the list of exits and badis by executing the ZUSEREXIT program.
I have already done this.
I would like to know which user exit to select out of this total exits.

I have found the list of exits, for MIRO, by executing ZUSEREXIT, and i got a list of exits and one BADI. But I am not sure which Exit will work for my requirements.

Example Date Set :

I've not got a BB at the moment however i've just sold my iphone and i think a Blackberry is the way to go HOWEVER.........
im a little confused regarding any additional cost when using a BB.
Im currently a 'Pay & Go' user on O2 UK and i currently get unlimited internet access upon topping up each month. I also have Wifi internet in my home.
I read somewhere that BB charge an additional cost for using BB services (internet,email,messenger etc) is this correct???
   I used to be able to keep track of my emails and browes the internet away from home using my iphone and my O2 sim and then it would connect to my home Wifi once within range. I'm on a budget and have been looking at getting the 8520 on O2.
If i put my 'Pay & Go' O2 card in it (with my unlimited data plan) can i use the internet and email immediately, away from home without additional costs from BB.
Can i also browes the internet and check my email for free using my homes Wifi without any additional charges??

Most of those question will have to be answered by your O2 UK customer service, as they will know their data plans.
But for the BlackBerry, you will need a BlackBerry specific data plan.
Just a generic internet access plan usually will not suffice.
So when you speak to them, make sure you get specific BlackBerry data plan information, add-on or bolt-on or whatever the call it.

NEW USER - HELP NEEDED, Collapsing Header

I am trying to build a support page, user is to click on heading and the text appears, clicks on the header again and text is collapsed. I need some help with the coding.
