Macromedia Studio MX 2004 - Flash dies on opening? All of a sudden!!!!!!!!

Hi,
Hopefully someone out there has had a similar problem to my current dilemma. After conducting my monthly clean up of o/s and installing a Raptor drive for main boot fresh G5 Tiger install - all updates + security - migrating all software - repairing permissions - running diskwarrior - running cocktail et al - the only programme not to work - is Flash mx Professional from the Studio MX 2004!!!!!!
Prior to this ingenious upgrade on my part - I had a shaky o/s hence the system maintenance. Flash did work prior to this - very well.
I have now done a full delete of Studio MX 2004 - re-installed from discs and updated from Macromedia - still Flash won't fully launch. It gets to the stage then quits.

neutron,an obvious but not very helpful reply - however thank you - I am fully aware of who makes Studio and all of the other Adobe products - given I own the majority of them.
For those who may experience this problem - when they do do a fresh Tiger install and migrate software - the fix - is obscure to say the least - and may not be just specific to say Adobe/Macromedia software.
I eventually found the answer here after 3 fresh intalls of Studio MX and much frustration.
For all us designers/editors and others - who own a Wacom tablet - there must be a bug somewhere that conflicts with Studio MX. Remove the tablet s/w - reload Studio and voila - Flash launches and has so far remained steady.
Just in case anyone is wondering why this was posted here originally - was because of the last security update and my problem started soon after - spookily coincidental!

In 2004, I bought Macromedia Studio MX 2004 with Macromedia Flash MX Professional 2004 included. Since then I have finished many projects working with Screens and Data. After I have my computer operating system upgraded with Window 7 Ultima, 64-bit version recently, I re-installed Machromedia Studio MX 2004. When I tried to retrieve my previous projects containing Screens, popup windows said " unable to open document with this version of Flash because it contains Screen". Now I knew that my Flash MX Professional 2004 was no longer working with a new serial [serial number deleted by moderator], which was perhaps only good for non-professional model. It's not a fair deal as I've paid more than 800 dollars for this package with Flash MX Professional 2004 included in 2004. Please advise. Thanks

It's legacy software that is neither compatible with Win 7 nor current versions of Flash (Player). Current versions of Flash Pro may not even be able to open your old projects without losing data. Anyway, ask in the Flash forums...

Studio MX 2004 programs will not open at all

As others here and elsewhere have reported, Mac OS updates occasionally (often?) cause problems with the Macromedia Studio MX 2004 programs. After these problematic updates, the Macromedia programs do not open; the icons bounce in the dock a few times and then either disappear or give a "Program Not Responding" error.
In the past, whenever I've had this problem, I've solved it by deleting the preferences files and/or repairing disk permissions.
This time, however, neither of these things have worked. In addition, I've trashed every Macromedia and Macrovision folder and file on my machine and reinstalled the programs, but that hasn't helped, either.
Rebooting the machine didn't help.
I've installed the hotfix available on the Adobe site. Didn't help.
I've installed the program updates also available on the Adobe site to no avail.
According the "Software Update," my machine has all the latest software installed.
I am completely out of ideas on how to get these programs working again. Is there any trick out there that someone knows about that I haven't tried?
Thanks in advance for any help/advice people can offer. This is really, really frustrating.
P.S.: I tried posting about this problem in an older thread that seemed related, but it's not clear to me whether those threads get read. Since it's been several days with no responses, I've started a new thread. Apologies if that's bad form...

I'm planning to update from Windows 7 (where everythings works perfectly fine) to Windows 8.

I'm using Windows8 x64.
The Fireworks.exe of MX 2004 needs Compatibility setting.
right click Fireworks.exe in File explorer
-> click Property
-> open "Compatibility" tab
-> check "Run this program in compatibility mode for:"
-> select mode as "Windows XP (Service Pack 3)"
-> (in case of some behavior, check "Run this program as an administrator" )
I confirmed that the FwMX2k4 boots in this way.
(but not confirmed on all extentions.)

Activation issue Macromedia Studio MX 2004

Can anyone tell me how to activate Studio MX 2004? I've had this software for years and now I have a new computer and I need to continue to use it. I realise that it is old software but it meets my needs and I have no interest in more bells and whistles and learning newer versions. Support (chat and phone) were no help at all - I am guessing it is because the software predates Adobe's aquiring of Macromedia. Surely there is a way to continue to use the software I purchased????? (Which by the way DOES work on Windows 7.)

Fire fox is crashing as well as "sent" mails are not opening, all of a sudden, continue & cancel will appear, sometimes copy & paste is not working

-The system has crashed/closed on it's own. Have had to put the pc off to get the system started again, yesterday, the hotmail was not opening either, once it opened after some time, other times I had to open Mozilla again.
-Some of the "sent" emails are not opening for me to check what I've written.
- After I've opened my hot mail account, the continue & cancel signs will appear again.

As the day progressed, all other files quit being able to save to the desktop. As I tried to diagnose the issue, I went through the Repair Disk in Disk Utilities and was told by that program to close and use the disk repair from Recovery HD (CMD + R upon reboot). I did that and was eventually told the HDD was too far gone to repair. I reformatted and restored from Time Machine following the instructions given. All is good now after 24 hours of work. I have no idea what happened but I'm not feeling real safe about my mac today. I have an SSD on order.

The CC app on my Mac won't open all of a sudden...

I just restarted my laptop but it didn't make any difference. I had the CC in my dock and it always worked fine, no it won't open at all. I have an alias in my apps and found the original in the Utilities. I am not really sure how that distribution happened. I just updated to CC PS 2014 Could that have caused the problem?

this just started. well for a couple hours i was getting repeated message for a couple of hours in terms i didn't understand, pure computer talk, from who? i don't know. i did download some email photos but did not save them. can't tell you what it said. but everything was normal at the forum. they just did a minor upgrade there in the last few hours tho also.

I don't know much about samba, but I have had very similar problems with netbios in windows, I find it to be very unreliable and I think you would be better off with ftp, but that's just my opinion. Apart from that, are you sure you have the necessary ports opened, and so do they? And you might need a line in /etc/hosts.allow

The message is this one. I could no longer open the software, I didn't try to move the library, I have enough free disc and sorry I don't remember having updated the software, maybe but I think it is not free, I dindn't pay for an upgrade. It seems that I have to desinstall Aperture and reinstall it - but on the DVD installation there is nowhere the "desinstall" function.

Go to the App Store and check out the Purchases List. If iPhoto is there then it will be v9.6.1
If it is there, then drag your existing iPhoto app (not the library, just the app) to the trash
Install the App from the App Store.
Sometimes iPhoto is not visible on the Purchases List. it may be hidden. See this article for details on how to unhide it.

One question often asked: Will I lose my Photos if I reinstall?
iPhoto the application and the iPhoto Library are two different parts of the iPhoto programme. So, reinstalling the app should not affect the Library. BUT you should always have a back up before doing this kind of work. Always.

Activate Studio MX 2004

Trying to activate a product made previously by Macromedia (Studio MX 2004), which Adobe acquired some years back. It basically the old Creative Suite with Dreamweaver, Fireworks, Freehand, Flash. The computer I was using it on died and I installed on a new one.
The software installed correctly. I have the correct product key number for the software. But when trying to activate, I get an error: "the software was unable to activate due to network problems." Even when I try to activate via phone, the number appears to no longer be in search. Anyone know how I can resolve this issue to activate the software?

When trying to activate your Creative Suite 2, Acrobat 7, or Macromedia products you may receive an error that the Activation server is unavailable. As of December 15th, 2013 the activation servers for these products are shut down. Please follow the below forum where you have instructions on how to uninstall the previous versions and re-install the product which doesn't require activation:

it says WIN/MAC, but when I look at the CD contents it is all
.exe's, and I can find nothing resembling MAC installation files.
1. How the heck do I install it?
2. Will it work on Leopard 10.5.2?

You don't. You have a Windows CD. You would have to contact
Adobe, and
exchange your Windows license for a Mac license.
