Macromedia versions of Dreamweaver

I don't like using the newer css based Dreamweaver versions. Is there any where I can still get hold of the MX, MX studio or DV 8 version for a mac?

I doubt it. Macromedia hasn't existed since 2006.
Why are you having so much trouble with CSS? It's powerful, efficient and meets current web standards. Maybe you should give it a chance.

My trial version of dreamweaver won't open... Please help as the people from customer service refuse to! :(

I downloaded a trial version of dreamweaver. It worked for a
few days, then stopped working. When I click on the desktop icon it
loads and asks me if I want to continue with my trial (29 days
left) or enter serial number. When I click continue with trial a
"Dreamweaver 8" banner comes up (indicating it is loading) then it
closes. I phoned technical support and wasn't able to get through
several times. When I finally did (after 45 minutes) the conclusion
they gave me was that THEY COULD NOT HELP ME FOR "FREE" because it
was a trial version. I really want to learn this program and would
really appreciate any help. I also checked out the dreamweaver
download trouble-shooting page and tried a few things which did not
seem to help. My computer is fairly new and has more than enough
memory (160G or so?).

I'll try. What are your machine specs. You say 160G of
memory? I am
assuming you mean a 160 gb hard drive. That is not memory.
How much RAM do
you have? What operating system are you running?
Did you download the trial from the Adobe site? Do you have
antivirus or
firewall software that might be blocking the program?

Will using two versions of dreamweaver trash my code??

Our company is currently building a new website and we keep running into problems. Currently we have one main web desginer and another person who helps input text and pictures. Because we have two people working on this project the file bounces between two computers at the office and then is taken home and used on a third computer. In the midst of the multi-use of computers there are two versions of Macromedia, studio 8 and MX. We had our code completely trashed and now all versions on each computer are not working. We think that it was due to a code that was pulled off of a blog for a "print this page" option that was input into the template, but now just realized that using two versions of dreamweaver also may have caused the problem. If anyone has suggestions as to what may have caused this please respond!

I have an old version of Dreamweaver MX that I I cannot register online....the link tells me that my internet is not connected (this is not accurate)...and the phone numbers provided to register over the phone do not seem to be in working order. So how do I register this piece of software so that I can use it for more than a few weeks trial period?

I was just granted a license to Dreamweaver through my
company. It's Dreamweaver MX version 6.0. I'd like to take an
online class for using the tool, but the class requires the 2004
version of Dreamweaver MX and I can't tell if my version matches.
I've looked in the "Help > About Dreamweaver" menu, but
all it tells me is the version, not the year.
If I'm using Dreamweaver MX version 6.0, is that 2004 or
newer?

It's older. By alot. The sequence was -
DMX6.0 - DMX6.1 - DMX2004 - DMX2004 7.0.1 - DW8 - DW8 8.0.1 -
DW8 8.0.2
If your company will allow you to upgrade, that would be
best.

I am going to purchase a new version of Dreamweaver, I have
MX. I see that 8 is out with one upgrade. Is 9 coming out
soon?

I have Dreamweaver MX2004 with valid licenses which are accepted, but when I try to activate the product it cannot be done online and the telephone numbers provided are no longer working. When I contacted Adobe they said 'Older versions are no longer supported, try the forums' Anybody help me with this?

Adobe stopped their licensing servers for CS2 and below some time ago. And your product is not an Adobe product.
Adobe released a series of serial numbers for their older products that should work:

Be aware that your software is almost 10 years old. You may be well advised to upgrade to something that is more compliant with current web standards. I would mention that your version of Dreamweaver would work very well for doing HTML documents for email.

DW doesn't make slideshows. You'll need to use a jQuery plugin or a 3rd party commercial Extension.

I cannot download the trial version of dreamweaver cs4

can anyone tell me why my firefox asnd internet exployer both keep freezing up when i try to download the trial version of dreamweaver cs4? I have called tech support adobe and they can not give me a solution.

The files that are created by using Dreamweaver are universal files, meaning that you will be able to edit those files in any editor. There are many web developers that use a combination of editors (e.g. Dreamweaver and SublimeText) to create the files.
So, to answer your question, you will be able to edit/create the files no matter which version of DW you use.

Problems with Italian version of Dreamweaver [subject edited by moderator]

The italian version of this software doesn't match with the configurations in the tutorials and it's impossible to follow the procedure to learn how to use it!! I've spent more than two hours just to put the "split working area" in vertical with no results. No way to open the same tools. And then, where are the assets files to download??? I think it could be a wonderful idea give us something easier to learn, simply having giving us the right correspondence between the software (open for the first time after the download) and the video tutorials…please, in this condition I cannot work and so how can I do?

unfortunately I can't go on with this program…it's impossible without the CSS file showed on the tutorial…I've also tried to find something on the web and I've tried to install Adobe Widget Browser but it doesn't work!
So I've lost a lot of hours and I'm very frustrated and disappointed…and then the Dreamweaver CC version I've downloaded from Creative Cloud is different from the one in the tutorials, so I can follow all the indications without stop and start searching somewhere the things…
In this condition it's impossible to learn how to use this software…it's an incredible waste of time…and paying for that!!
