Made a Custom Camera Case

Well, sort of. Long story short, I bought the "Care Package" edition of a video game, Black Ops 2, and afterwards had no idea what to do with the big package it came with. So, rather than toss it I started to figure out how feasible it would be to turn it into a camera storage case. What I have just about three months later is a lot of procrastination. Took me three days and about $30 for the velcro and cut foam.
I cut the holes for equipment myself and regret doing that. I'll have foam cut again at some point down the road but for now this should work. When I do, I plan on getting a bright orange foam block for the interior to match the straps on the outside.
I entertained the idea of using padded dividers but that idea didn't catch traction when I couldn't find any replacement dividers with the specifications/lengths I was looking for.
I've "thrown it around" and it holds up well with the gear inside. No where near the protection a proper Pelican case would give me but this just looks cool in my trunk and closet. I also plan on getting an o-ring made for the small gap in the border in the lips of the lids to give it some proper water proofing but it still won't give as much protection as I'd like.

You can delete a custom gesture by doing the following:
1. Go to "Settings"
2. Select "General"
3. Scroll down and select "Accessibility"
4. Scroll down and select "AssistiveTouch"
5. Select "Edit" in the upper right hand corner
6. Press the minus symbol next to the gesture you want to delete
7. Press "Delete"
Hope this helps.

  • Custom Camera Profile Disables External Editing?

I'm using Lightroom 5 and Photoshop CS5.  The problem is that if I apply a custom camera color profile created by X-Rite Passport Color Checker, I can no longer use an external editor, such as Photoshop, to edit my photos.  Before I apply the custom profile, the external editor function works just fine.  If I apply a custom profile in the Camera Calibration panel, then the ability to use external editors no longer works.  There is no error message, but nothing happens when I try to edit in an external editor.  If I go back and turn off the custom profile and go back to Adobe Standard, then the external editor function works again.  What is going on?  Is there a way to make it possible to apply a custom profile in Camera Calibration and still be able to use the external editors?

A suggestion: it sometimes happens that the main "edit in PS" function gets.. a bit confused. I agree with the other posters that it's critical which program is to render your image to an editable state (ACR, or LR)... which also means, whether PS is going to simply open up an already-saved file from disk, or be passed instructions to have ACR make it an unsaved image in memory.
Perhaps there is some issue with ACR seeing the folder where Passport is saving its special camera colour profiles via LR - the more standard ones are located in a structure shared by both programs, the same as with lens profiles. This will only be a difficulty, if it is ACR which is trying to do the job of rendering the image.
Just to clarify: normally when we say LR version such-and-such is compatible with ACR version such-and-such, we are assuming that the latest available Process Version is being used within Lightroom. For any individual image which happens to be set to an earlier Process Version, the compatibility with ACR operates, as if an earlier version of LR was being used. So (for example) one image using PV 2012 would get necessarily rendered by LR when you selected "Edit in PS" with PS CS5, because that is known not to support PV2012. But another image using PV2010 might get sent directly to CS5's ACR within the same setup (provided not earlier than 6.7), without giving the option, since that version of ACR IS known to support that generation of image adjustments.
To troubleshoot whether external editing is or is not possible, it can be helpful to set up Photoshop manually as a LR external editing preset (I find this useful anyway). This is done within the lower, "additional" part of the External editing tab in LR Preferences. By browsing direct to the Photoshop executable, you can specify whether 32-bit or 64-bit, also set up the bitdepth and colourspace, and explicity name that. When this name is then selected against an image from the "Edit in..." context menu, it is definitely Lightroom that renders the image - you can be sure that ACR is not involved.
If Lightroom cannot render an image under such an external editing preset, save it to disk / add a new imported image version, and have PS open that, when a {Passport profile is selected - but those things can happen when (say) Adobe Standard is selected, then AFAICT that narrows down on LR's ability to use the profile which Passport has made. I'd still have expected some kind of a warning message.
Even if PS was for some reason unable to open the image, but LR had definitely been the one told to render it - I would not expect to have "nothing" happen. I would expect to see a new image version in LR stacked with the original - named (by default) either [Imagename]-edit.tiff or [imagename]-edit.psd - which looked exactly the same as the current LR edits, only hard-rendered into a flat pixel file.

  • AE CS5 - Duplicated comp not rendering with custom camera

    Hello
I hope this is a simple fix.
I have an AE comp that uses a custom camera and many 3D layers.
I duplicated the comp, and the new comp will not render using the custom camera. It uses a default camera which does not have my camrea's attributes, and it looks all wonky.
Is there a place where I can force the render to use a specific camera? I didn't see an option in the render settings or output module.
    Thanks

In that screenshot, the text is too tiny for me to make anything out.
I can tell that you're previewing in the Composition panel with your shotCam. But is that camera layer the active camera in the composition?
In case you're not clear on what the active camera is, here's an excerpt from After Effects Help:
"You can choose to view a composition through the active camera or through a named custom camera. The active camera is the topmost camera in the Timeline panel at the current time for which the Video switch is selected. The active camera view is the point of view used for creating final output and nesting compositions."

  • Custom Camera Profile List (Color Checker Passport)

    Hi
I am new to Lightroom 4.3 and have a question regarding Custom Camera Profiles. I have created custom profiles using Color Checker Passport for sunny, cloudy, flash, tungsten etc but would really like to create one for most shoots. I thought it would be a good idea to name it say "Temp" and overwrite each time so that I dont end up knee deep in camera profiles. But I am guessing if I do this will the latest saved version of "Temp" change the camera profile of all other previously saved versions of "Temp" from other shoots?
It would be good if the saved version of "Temp" resided within the folder of that particular shoot only.

In fact I'm amazed at how good the Adobe Standard profile is (Nikon D300/700) - I have never been able to improve on it for sheer accuracy.
ColorChecker Passport profiles I created for my Canon 5D MKII, 600D and 300D bodies looks better than the Adobe Standard profile, with both set to the same neutral white balance. This includes both single-illuminant and dual-illuminant profiles.
Take a look at the below images which were adjusted in LR using normal adjustments for a "picture" image, and not adjusted as a test chart. The Deep Blue and Purplish Blue patches have a slightly different hue and are more saturated on  my non-wide gamut display. I'm sure they would look even more different on a wide gamut display. The ColorChecker profiled image looks closer to the actual ColorChecker when compared side-by-side. Some of the other color patches also have more saturation, which again appears more accurate.
I am certainly no "expert" on color management, but do have over 40 years of film, color darkroom, and digital imaging experience. To me the ColorChecker profile image looks better and more accurate than the Adobe Standard profile image, and that's just my opinion. Maybe it's something unique to Adobe's Canon profiles, but I have no Nikon equipment to test this assumption.
Concerning the OP's creation and use of multiple "sunny, cloudy, flash, tungsten etc. profiles," I did the same thing when I first used the CC Passport. And you're correct that for normal sunlight pictures only one (1) profile is actually needed, with changes made to white balance for the different conditions. But there is nothing wrong with creating multiple profiles and saving them with their matching white balance settings as a Develop preset. Disk space is cheap and IMHO LR simplifies the process and organization of presets, just as Rob Cole suggested.
I would suggest further that under some natural lighting conditions white balance alone may not totally correct the image. Examples would be high-altitude, early morning and evening low-angle sunlight, etc. Of course this begs the question of how much should you actually "correct" these images – It depends on the purpose, such as artistic versus clinical usage, or a balance of both.

  • Where can I find a camera case for my iPod touch 4g?

I have found many cases for the iPhone 4/4S that are camera cases but I don't have an iPhone. I'm looking to find a camera case for my iPod touch 4th generation.

I've found cases for the iPhone that have little 8x zoom lens and cases that can attach a DSLR lens to your iPhone. I'm trying to find one for my iPod touch but cant find any.
Yeah I've checked the apple store. Unless they just added it today I can't find one.

  • ACR 5 - Support for Custom Camera Profiles

ACR 4 allows users to select from a list of four device-independent colour spaces (Adobe RGB 1998, ColorMatch RGB, ProPhoto RGB and sRGB). Unlike other RAW processors, it does not allow selection of a custom camera profile. This capability is very useful when colour accuracy is of considerable importance (e.g. reproduction of art works). Does ACR 5 allow for selection of custom profiles?

When this question had been asked in the past the answer has always been, "No, because these choices are all that you need." This may seem to be a rather close minded answer. But in reality the Prophoto color space encompasses everything else that is available. So the solution has been to do all of your work in ACR in Prophoto and send the image on to Photoshop in that color space. Then convert to the desired color space in Photoshop.

  • [4.3] Custom camera profiles now ignored

    Hi,
After installation of LR 4.3, my custom camera profiles are no longer recognized. They are still in the correct folder along with the other camera profiles installed by LR but these custom profiles are not shown in the drop down list in the Camera Calibration panel.
    Any similar experience?
    Any fix?
    Thanks in advance.

Aaaah, it seems that custom profiles now need to be stored in another folder, different from the one where the default profiles are stored.
Previously, all profiles (default and custom) were stored there for my 5D :
    C:\ProgramData\Adobe\CameraRaw\CameraProfiles\Camera\Canon EOS 5D
Now the custom profiles need to be moved there (create the folder if it doesn't exist) :
    C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\CameraRaw\CameraProfiles\Canon EOS 5D
A warning about this change would have been nice and time saving.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE WILL SOMEONE WHO KNOWS ABOUT THIS CONTACT ME???
CS6 Bridge does not show ANY of the adjustments I've made in previous versions of Camera Raw, and sometimes (intermittently) doesn't show adjustments made in CS6 Camera Raw.
I'm on a PC, I've uninstalled and reinstalled about 6 times. I feel so upset, I've spent literally HOURS going in circles on the Adobe website, trying to get help on the phone (I'll pay!!!) but there seems to be no way to contact anyone. I've posted this problem several times and no one answers.
If you don't know the answer, can you please tell me how to get tech help even if I have to pay for it??

  • Where to store custom camera profiles on a MacBook Pro 17" OS X 10.8.5

I recently created custom camera profiles for a friend's Nikon D700 using the Adobe DNG Profile Editor. She does not know where to install or store the dcp files so they can be used when she converts her RAW files. She is using Photoshop CS6 on a MacBook Pro 17" with OS X 10.8.5. I created the profiles on a PC. Can anyone help?

  • Can't load custom camera profiles

I'm using both Lightroom 3.5 and Photoshop CS5 on a 64-bit Windowx XP-Pro system with 8GB of RAM and plenty of disk space.
I use an X-rite color checker to generate custom camera profiles whenever I do portraits or other color critical photo sessions. The camera profile is generally placed in the
    "Documents and Settings\...{user...}Application Data\Adobe\CameraRaw\CameraProfiles " folder.
When I try to apply a profile in either lightroom or ACR the newely created profile is not visible in the camera profile drop-down box. When I check to see if the profile exists in the appropriate folder, it does.
I've used color profiles before and have always been able to create and select a profile. Now I'm no longer able to do this. I would prefer to not re-install all my Adobe software since then I'd have to reinstall all the updates and plug-ins.
How can I get lightroom and ACR to see these profiles and use them?

OK I figured out my problem and it seems as though it was a combination of things.
First: The X-Rite color checker can't create a profile if any of the color channels in the image are clipped. Adjusting the exposure via Camera Raw/Lightroom and saving the file as a DNG doesn't help since the changes are in metadata and not the actual raw file. I tried converting the file to a TIF after making the exposure adjustment then to a DNG, this allowed me to then save it as a DNG which the X-Rite software then allowed me to create a custom profile without errors. This new profile however, was not visible from the Camera Calibration menu.  The reason for this is that in the actual .dcp file, instead of having the camera type specified, it had TIF.
Second: The imbedded camera type (Canon 5D, Nikon D90, etc.) in the profile has to match the camera type in the metadata of the image you're trying to apply the profile to. Apparently, Lightroom/ACR, only allows you to see profiles that match the images taken by the same camera type. This makes sense since my two different bodies have different profiles. If you shoot with two different bodies you need to apply the profiles separately in lightroom. You need to sort the images by camera type then apply/sync the camera profile applicable to each camera seperately.
Third: I figured out a solution to the issue of my overexposed color checker, but unless your are comfortable with editing the binary .dcp file with a binary editor, I suggest you add  1/2 to a full stop when shooting the color checker. The problem is that red typically clips before any other color and since your meter does an 18% average (including the incident meter in the studio), it's possible to clip Red while Green and Blue are fine.

  • Q: Custom camera profiles and process 2010 - incompatible?

I have two digital cameras that I've had modified to shoot in the infrared.  I have to use custom camera profiles (created with the DNG profile editor) when I import IR images, otherwise the custom white balance is not preserved correctly.  However, even though the Develop module shows that the process is 2010 for my IR images, the Detail and Contrast sliders under Noise Reduction are grayed out.
I read somewhere on the web that custom camera profiles used on import effectively negate the ability to use the new features in process 2010 - can anyone confirm this, or otherwise explain why I'm not able to use the Noise Reduction features of process 2010 in their entirety?
    Thanks much.

Even with the amounts at non-zero values?

  • Created custom camera profile in DNG editor and can't find it in LR

I have created custom camera profiles and can't find them in Lightroom 3. Can someone help? I'm a Mac user.
    David

I figured it out. I saved the profile, but I did not export it.
    Thanks for the help everyone.
I was primarily interested in doing a custom tone curve to match my Mark IV to my 5D. The results were really bad, so I re did the profiles to simply get close colors, and I used the Point Tone Curve to match the two cameras. I've always liked the tone curve from the 5D, and I've always hated the one on the Mark IV.
    Problem Solved.
    Thanks again.

  • ITunes did not made backup of Camera Roll

I have plans to update IOS from 5.1.1 to latest IOS on my iPhone 4s and yesterday I start it.
First I need to free space on phone and I start do remove unused programs. Also I need to sync my photos - about 420 photos, screenshots and videos with about 1.14 Gb size, but I saw too many "Other" space (about 3.5 Gb on 16Gb device) and try to decide this problem first. After googling problem I found that restore from reserve copy may help. I just used "Restore" options from backup and nothing changed after device reboot. Then I start to try other methods to take full acces to iPhone file system, but nothing happens. ALso I plug iPhone to Windows 7 PC and made backup there. Then I try to fully clean iPhone (without manual photo syncing being sure in its safety) and restore it from backup.
When I made It I found my applications with data are back, but Camera Roll was empty, even albums disappear (I used 2 albums which used for current payments info and showing part of my photo for other peoples). Also some SMS was lost (at least one SMS in my bank folder)
Then I try to find software to see inside iTunes Backup. I saw that my last ITunes backup did not contain Camera Roll backup! Only images used with MMS/iMessages are stored! I checked Windows iTunes backup and saw the same! I checked old (25.12.13) backups and saw Camera roll (about 850 photos) already synced to iPhoto and to Windows.I see Camera Roll of my iPad which I made hour before. I even checked backups of tools fof full access and did not saw Camera Roll.
Ok, I'm idiot that hope for automatic backup, and now I cannot return my photos.
Why iTunes did nod made backup of Camera Roll or why Iphone did not allow to make Camera Roll backup?
Why iTunes or iPhone did not warned me about failures of backup my Camera Roll?

Thanks for the super fast response, wow!
That is the only way I make backups, I don't backup to the cloud I click the "Back Up Now" button under "Manually Back Up and Restore", in the top iTunes window, for a second a message flashes that my iPhone is syncing, and then that disappears, the "Back Up Now" becomes solid black again (I can press it again), yet no backup is made. I was just reading that article, I have none of those symptoms or error or alert messages.  I already have copies of my AppData folder because I made copies 2 days ago prior to the upgrade from iTunes 11 to 12 at the time I made my iPhone backup last. Now I wanted to manually backup the iPhone again prior to the iOS 8.1 upgrade, part of my backup procest. s is always copying the AppData folders have I have a new backup created by iTunes. So I'm baffled at what to do next.  I had already restarted my PC and my iPhone before posting here to try and again.
From that link, I don't know what the Lockdown folder is, I haven't been instructed to reset it, hearing that word for the first time, so not sure if that's something I should be concerned about. My Windows is fully up to date, same security measures as I've always used - NAV and MBAM...
