Made on a Mac icons

Hello,
I need to replace the web badges for iweb. I need the "mwmac_white.tiff" and "mwmac.tiff icons.
Is there a place on the apple site to recover or obtain these?

In the Finder do Command-Shift-G (Go to folder from the Go menu) and paste this :
/Applications/iWeb.app/Contents/Resources/English.lproj
Or :
/Applications/iWeb.app/Contents/Resources/
And choose the folder of your own language.lproj.
The images are in these folders.

I looked but could find, is there a way to disable this link? I'd prefer that my viewers don't go to another site from my home page.
I'd like to promote that the web site was made on a mac, but don't want them going to another link.

You can do it with a bit of jiggerypokery. To begin with delete the default image in iWeb. Now all you have to do is insert it again as a normal image. To find it on your mac, open Applications in Finder and then right-click (ctrl-click) on the iWeb icon. Choose Show Package Contents and open the Contents folder followed by the Resources folder. You should now find loads and loads of image files (and a few others). You need to search for a folder called English.Iproj. Within that folder is some more images and lots of folders. Search for two images called:
mwmac_white.tiff and mwmac.tiff. Copy and paste them to your desktop (or anywhere else). Now go back to iWeb and add them as normal images.

Syncing Issues with ICAL & Missing .Mac Icon... related?

We have been having problems with our ICal syncing for weeks, to the point where we have just stopped using our ICAL all together.
But now, my .mac icon, which I use to access my backup database is missing off my computer as well, and also missing off one of the other network computers.
Are these things related?
Any updates on when the syncing problems will be resolved?

As an IT consultant, i'm in agreement with Mr Utts.    The promise of "it just works" died with Steve Jobs.   Mac OS has been in freefall since 10.5 .    I need a fully functional OS, not an iPad on my desk. ( this means YOU Forstall !! )
Why break Samba ( a standard ), why break WebDAV ( a standard ), why break CalDAV ( a standard )??    Apple has done ALL of these things and they seem to be doing it on purpose.
The Apple "ecosystem" is just fine, but removing functionality as fast as you can, and removing interoperablity as fast as you can... if Apple products ONLY work within the ecosystem... people can and will leave Apple.    You've already run off the business users by refusing to make a real Server or real Server software.   You ran off the video user with Final Cut Pro X.   Dumbing down (and breaking) the OS is running off the IT User.
Mac OS used to easily walk the line of "hard core enough for a Unix Guru, easy enough for your Mom". Now they just want the Moms.
And i disagree, we are ALL "qualified to say what Apple might do about this...", they will do nothing.   They don't beleive they have made a mistake. They beleive WE are the problem by stubbornly insisting that things that used to work should continue to work.

How do you remove the "made on a mac" and logo on back cover of a photobook on the latest version of iphoto?

In your book, click on the Design icon, then click on the background behind the pages to select properties for the book, rather than any specific page. Now unclick "Include Apple logo at end of book".

If you have a look at http://web.mac.com/jfbertrand you'll notice that everything is in French -- something that's important to me, as I'm a high school French teacher.
But the button at the bottom (made on a mac, which links to mac.com) is in English. I've been trying to find one in French, but to no avail.
Of course, I could create one myself, but while there are gazillion apple logos out there on the Intarweb, I don't have the Myriad font.
BTW, in French it should probably read "Créé sur un Mac" or "Créé avec un Mac"

On your iPad, just go to Settings>Mail, Contacts, etc.>Add account>iCloud and put in the details of the account you set up. Shouldn't be a problem at all.

Third-party NTFS software interferes with the Apple NTFS drivers, which control whether you can see the Bootcamp partition in the Startup Disk option. As a test, can you uninstall all third-party NTFS software and check System Preferences -> Startup Disk?

My MacBook was not normally booting up. It would turn on, make the Apple startup noise, and the bottom loading bar would progress just a little bit, then my MacBook would shut down. I tried rebooting it many times and the same thing would happen, it would just shut down. Then, I read that I can reset the PRAM (by holding Option+Command+P+R after the Apple startup noise comes). That worked, but now I get a screen that asks me to choose one of the 4 options (see: http://images.macworld.com/images/article/2012/07/lionrecoveryutilities-289404.j pg). I choose Restore From Time Machine Backup, but it progresses to 17.6% and gets stuck there forever. I tried doing it again, and it got stuck at 17.6% again. That is why I am asking if I should just reinstall Lion, then restore a previous backup on the fresh new Lion?

Mac IIsi, smily Mac icon comes on and off

I have two IIsi. When they are powered on, both displays smily Mac icon for few seconds then comes an icon with a question mark.
The problem is that sometimes they work as they should and comes a full desktop mode. But when the full desktop appears it comes on and goes off periodically.
But mostly the booting up process stops at the Mac icon with the quesstion marks in it.
I opened up the case and found out that a few capacitors were leaking.
Could it be the issue related to the symptom?
For example that the Simasi effect on the SE/30 is related to the leaky caps.

Electrolytic capacitors (the "little cans") are used to smooth out power. If they have deteriorated to the point where they are leaking, they cannot be doing their job.
The Samasi effect or "Zebra Stripes" appears on Macs with memory-mapped screens. You are looking directly into memory at the garbage that is there. Dynamic RAM is built from tiny capacitors, and cannot remain stable when there is not enough capacitance nearby to smooth out transient power effects.
Electrolytic capacitors are polarized, and must be installed with + and - facing the same way as the originals. They must be at least the same temperature range, and at least the same capacitance as the ones you replace. Higher temp range and higher capacitance is almost always OK, but may cost a little more and be a little larger in size.
Once you have replaced the failing capacitors, you will need to also replace the 1/2-AA sized PRAM backup battery and reset the PRAM to get the blinking question mark to resolve and stay resolved..

If the video is already on a DVD:
You need to convert the VOB files in the TS-Folder of the DVD back to DV which iMovie is designed to handle. For that you need mpegStreamclip:

Obviously the foregoing only applies to DVDs you have made yourself, or other home-made DVDs that have been given to you. It will NOT work on copy-protected commercial DVDs, which in any case would be illegal.

Flashing "?" alternating with Mac icon on display

I turned on my G5 for the 1st time and the only thing that shows on the monitor is a small folder in the center of the screen with a question mark "?" in the middle alternating back and forth with the Mac icon every couple seconds. There is no indication the keyboard or mouse are able to function although both are hooked up properly. Thank You--cm

Greetings and welcome to the Apple boards.
That symbol means that your Mac cannot find a valid system drive from which to boot.
Boot from your Install disks and see if Disk Utility can find the hard drive.

Error: "Made on a Mac" button displaying too low when published!

Okay, so in iWeb the Made on a Mac button at the bottom of my page appears to be 50 or so pixels beneath the last bit of content. The page is set to be 700x700. But the last bit of content seemingly ends at 871px and the button is situated at 932px. When I post the website the button appears 200 or more px beneath now! Any suggestions?

I think I solved it-- changed the page height to 950 (from 700px) and it displays fine.

Removable logo "Made in a Mac" in Hard books

As far as I can see the logo "Made in a Mac" is removable in all the designs that can be printed by Apple in iPhoto '08 except for the Hard book designs, please let me know how to remove it in the hard books, or include in a next update the function to remove it. I think the users should have the last word on an imposing promotion in something that will be for personal use.
I'm not opposed to the logo, I just want to have the choice to remove it if I wish to.

The logo can be removed; I just verified this in a hardcover book that I had already designed. To do this, click on the "settings" option at the bottom of the iPhoto window (where the gear is), and uncheck the option "Include Apple logo".
