Made trouble for myself by moving data folder. Need help to fix.

I did something that was not smart. I was trying to access photos via online and I moved my iphoto data folders to the desktop. Now, I don't know how to move the data folder back and I don't want to screw it up even worse. If I go into iphoto the thumbnails are blank, but when you double-click you can see the photo. How do I fix my careless mistake?

First off, try move the Data folder back:
Quit iPhoto
Go to your Pictures Folder and find the iPhoto Library there. Right (or Control-) Click on the icon and select 'Show Package Contents'. A finder window will open with the Library exposed.
Drag the Data Folder in there.
Close the Window.
Start iPhoto.

You can use any Open / Attach / Browse dialogue. On the left there's a Media heading, your pics can be accessed there. Apple-Click for selecting multiple pics.

Many internet sites such as Flickr and SmugMug have plug-ins for accessing the iPhoto Library. If the site you want to use doesn’t then some, one or any of these will also work:
To upload to a site that does not have an iPhoto Export Plug-in the recommended way is to Select the Pic in the iPhoto Window and go File -> Export and export the pic to the desktop, then upload from there. After the upload you can trash the pic on the desktop. It's only a copy and your original is safe in iPhoto.
This is also true for emailing with Web-based services. However, if you're using Gmail you can use iPhoto2GMail
If you use Apple's Mail, Entourage, AOL or Eudora you can email from within iPhoto.
If you use a Cocoa-based Browser such as Safari, you can drag the pics from the iPhoto Window to the Attach window in the browser.
*If you want to access the files with iPhoto not running*:
Create a Media Browser using Automator (takes about 10 seconds) or use this free utility Karelia iMedia Browser
Other options include:
1. *Drag and Drop*: Drag a photo from the iPhoto Window to the desktop, there iPhoto will make a full-sized copy of the pic.
2. *File -> Export*: Select the files in the iPhoto Window and go File -> Export. The dialogue will give you various options, including altering the format, naming the files and changing the size. Again, producing a copy.
3. *Show File*: Right- (or Control-) Click on a pic and in the resulting dialogue choose 'Show File'. A Finder window will pop open with the file already selected.

Look, I understand I still need a card attached to the account. The problem is, it won't accept my card because I only have 87 cents in my bank account right now.
If I had known there would be so much trouble with the iTunes card, I would have just put the cash in my bank account in the morning instead of buying an iTunes card (I didn't expect the banks to be open on Thanksgiving of course).
Apple will only accept cards that have a balance. The balance is so small in my account that it won't accept it as a valid card.
I'm going to have to contact Apple anyway to reset the security questions. That's obvious. Your answers were not exactly helpful. You didn't tell me anything I don't already know, but thanks for trying to be helpful.

I've ran a benchmark on my Mac (iMac early 2009). Performance of Yosemite in general was about the same as Mavericks. But that can be different on other Mac's of course. Safari is mostly a bit slower. It's recommended you clean your old internet-caches and then restart Safari. (you can use a little app called CCleaner to do that). That might make a difference. Speed-issues are usually solved in the first and second update of OS X.

Display vs. For Sale items... Need help thinking this out

Okay, here's the problem. I have created a separate catalog called Museum for joden.businesscatalyst.com
In that catalog is a sub catalog for Edwardian Jewelry.
These products are not for sale, but I want to display them.
We also have a store with items in another catalog that are for sale.
It does not appear that I can create a separate template for Online Store Modules that can be used for the Museum catalog, for when I add this catalog to a menu, it creates a product display but also has Add to shopping cart buttons and the large images also have the add to button. Since there is no inventory or price, it won't be added, but I am wondering if there is a way to keep this inventory separate from our overall store, display it on a different Module when clicked, etc. Basically what I need is a display area for not for sale items and a regular catalog for sale items.

My client says that any catalog, even though it is a separate catalog called museum, will interfere with our inventory for the store.
Not sure what to do about this. I could create static pages for sample items, but will lose our current museum of previously owned items and NFS items.
I could create a gallery of special items for each jewelry period (BTW, the fact that the photo gallery uses a complete folder rather than selected items in a folder is a real problem).
None of these solutions seems to facilitate what I need to do.
I have another client I am thinking of moving to Business Cat with the same issue. He wants to display samples of his previous jewelry creations that are not for sale, but also needs a current inventory.
I'm starting to think BC is not going to be able to serve these larger clients.

If you're wanting to remove the add to cart button from the template for products in a particular catalogues you're going to have to put something into place, BC won't do it for you in this case unfortunately.
You can use the backup list view or a custom template to remove the add to cart from them.
As for the detail view you just need to remove the '.moreoption' div - or if you don't want to show the price either then the 'prod_options' div.
You could utilise a custom field (from inside the product options) and fill it with something like 'noSale'. Then in the CSS have '.noSale .moreoption { display: none }'
Add the custom tag field into your large product template somewhere at the top inside a class.
If you fill it in, it'll hide, if you don't, it won't.
There are other options, but this seems pretty easy. This also allows items in any catalogue to be not for sale, not anything specifically - so you could have multiple that are not for sale, multiple that are.

Moved my library, need help please

I had loaded my music folder into my iTunes library and everything worked fine. A week ago I bought an external hard drive and moved the folder from the internal hd to the external. What do I have to do so that iTunes recognizes the new songs and deletes the songs from the old location so I don't end up with duplicate songs? And when I sync my iPod, it can't find the songs because it's looking in the old location. Will I have to remake my playlist completely?

This worked for me. In itunes click edit, click preferences, click advanced tab
See what the file path is to your itunes music folder location. You can change it by clicking on change and then search for the folder on your new drive.

Help before i shoot myself! Moving Data

I have a 2009 macbook pro running lion and a 2011 imac running snow leopard (just delivered today) It's a long story. However, what im trying to do is copy what is currently on my macbook pro in lion (this is all current info) and move everything to my imac, running snow leopard. The problem that i am having is im tryin to restore my imac from my macbook pro via migration assistant and thats not worked at all. The imac is kinda saying it wont do it coz the backup its from a different machine. I just want to take whats on my 2009 macbook pro running lion and move it all to (and over-right) whats currently running on my 2011 imac running snow leopard to bring it up to date with my macbook pro.
I know this is probably not difficult to someone looking in right now, but ive spent all bloody day on it! Please any help you can ive will be really appreciated.

You seem to be describing two different things here: one is that you want to Restore your iMac with waht's on your MBP, and the other that you want to move some date to the iMac from the MBP. Those are two contradictory things, and one of them won't work.
If you are trying to Restore your iMac from the MBP (move everything, including the OS) it may not work. Since no 2011 iMacs shipping since July come with Snow Leopard installed, that leaves some doubt as to what you have on that machine, and how you got it.
But in any case, if you just want to move some data from the MBP to the iMac, instead of messing around with Migration Assistant, why not just connect the two computers via Ethernet and do a straight Finder copy from one to the other?

Hi Everyone, I have pretty much copied and pasted my post from the Motorola forums (with a few minor edits) over here as I do need a little bit of help or insight on my issue.
I have scoured through the Droid X section trying to find solutions to my problems and I haven't been able to get a solid answer anywhere (here or on other Android/X2 forums).
I have an X2. I really like this phone. It is solid and has crystal clear sound quality. However, ever since I have had it I have seen intermittent issues pop up and I would like to get some feedback on them or get things put into perspective that it is a known glitch in the interface between the Android OS and the hardware. I bought the phone at Best Buy and every time I bring it in (either back to Best Buy or a Verizon store), as the issue is intermittent, they won't replace the phone. The people at Best Buy have told me to "do a battery pull every morning" which completely offends me as I never had to do anything so drastic with my original Droid until it finally decided to reboot on me every 2 hours (this is when I upgraded to the X2). I had to pick it up from Best Buy as I needed a functional phone immediately and no Verizon store in the area had the X2 in stock.
The first (and most important issue)... Every once in a while, even though I have full signal, when somebody calls me, my phone will not ring or vibrate. It will ring the full six times on their end but does not show up on my phone as ever receiving or missing the call. After the six rings on their end, it goes to voicemail and after they leave the message, only the voicemail indicator shows up. Over the past month this has happened multiple times (once or twice a week). Those who don't leave messages have had to hunt me down because they thought I had left my phone elsewhere as it never rang or notified me of an incoming call.
The next two issues are still important to me but they are more of an inconvenience than anything else.
Sometimes (yes, this is intermittent too but it happens daily), when I wake my phone from sleep, all of the antennas seem to be off and it takes a good second or two to show back up in the status bar (3G, Bluetooth, etc). My question is, have all of the non-CDMA antennas "gone to sleep"? The signal bar for the actual cell service are still there, just not the other services (3G/1X) or wireless settings (Bluetooth/WiFi) for a couple seconds.
Lastly (and this may be a direct link to the previous question), when I use the "Google Talk" application, the messages I send go through very quickly, but sometimes I do not get replies for a long time after they are sent (30 minutes to and hour later). If I wake the phone, sometimes a previously sent message will come through, and when I check the chat log in Gmail itself, the message was sent from quite a while back (15 minutes to an hour).
I know I am brand new to your community, and I am sorry to have to burden you all with a post like this as my initial post. However, I have always liked and used Motorola phones with Verizon/GTE (all the way back to the MicroTAC series of the early 90s) without issues or incidents for the most part. As my original Droid was starting to act up I decided to jump on the X2 as it was just released. I understood that it was not going to initially come with Gingerbread and I said I would be patient for the update to come and hopefully it would bring a new level to the phone itself as well as solve some (if not all) of the issues. However, now that it is past my return date, and there is no update as of yet, I do require assistance.

The responses I received over at the Moto forums said the same thing about the battery saver mode. However, I have had the same issue with the radios shutting off during the day while it is in "Nighttime savings mode" so I'm just thinking it's an oddball glitch with the phone's power management settings and clock. I have recently changed the battery mode to "Performance Mode" from Nighttime Savings" as I have the phone plugged into the charger at night anyways. I'm hoping that will take care of both my radio and gtalk issues.
@Wildman: I have heard the same thing about the GB update from a Verizon rep very recently myself. I am still going to hope for an update sometime in the near future, but I do recall the first update for my Original Droid was months down the line from the release day.
@Droiddude: Are you just cycling the power? Or are you actually doing physical battery pulls? If cycling the power works for you it would lessen the burden of pulling that Incipio case (Verizon Double Cover) off my phone every time to do battery pulls. It's a great case but wow it's a tight/snug fit.
@vereyezuhn: I understand that there are possible dead areas in which my main issue may occur. I even have a prepaid phone for the times I am in a Verizon dead zone. However, when my issue occurs, I will be in the same spot for a while. I will receive all my calls, miss one in the manner I have spoken, then receive the following calls normally (SMS/MMS does not seem to be affected either as I seem to receive all of those). This is why I have this specific issue. I have recently cleared the phone's cache partition as well as update the PRL using *228 option 2. We will see over time if this eliminates the issue or at least makes it much more rare.

Moving to CF10, Need help with Application.cfc

I've been googling about how to work with Application.cfc since last week but I still have some questions and I can't find the answers.
My application is under the root (in unix) and there are many subfolders underneath it. Each sub-folder is hosting a different web application.
From what I read, I can create 1 root Application.cfc and then on subsequent sub-folder, when I need to have another Application.cfc on that level, I can create ProxyApplication (see below) and then create a sub-folder level Applicatin.cfc
So, when I set an application.DSN on my root Application.cfc, using proxyApplication I don't have to reset this dsn again in my sub folder level Application.cfc
Since my loginform.cfm and loginaction.cfm is right under root directory too, I also set OnsessionStart in the root Application.cfc to handle user login. Then this means, I don't have to reset session variable again anywhere because session.username, etc has been set on the highest level.
Is this correct?
In addition, Am I correct when I do the following:
1. Since I have root level and sub-folder level Application.cfc, I should set this.name with a different name, am I right?
    On the root Application.cfc I set this.name = "StudentServices" because this represent the global application
    On the sub-folder level's Application.cfc, I set this.name to "StudentServices_stdLoad" becaus this sub-folder only handle student load application.
2. On the root Application.cfc, I set the DSN to the application scope. So on the sub-folder level Application.cfc I can check if a particular db is working or not
    because as awhole, in the global sense, this web application uses more than one Databases. Each sub-folder may use a database that is dfferent than the other sub folder.
Am I doing the right thing? Please advice

OK. It sounds to me like you really shouldn't be using a single root Application.cfc at all, if all you want to do is share some settings between your "sub-applications". I would look at storing the common settings in an external file that all of the applications can read in. The simplest way is to put the settings in a .CFM file somwhere outside of the web root (so it is not directly web accessible) and load it with <cfinclude> tag into the OnApplicationStart() method of each sub-application's App.cfc. That .CFM file can be as simple as:

Alternatively, you can look at using a config file like this Ray Camden blog post suggests, and use the GetProfileSection(), GetProfileString(), and SetProfileString() functions as needed within OnApplicationStart(). You could even put ALL of your settings in
A third option is to store your settings in an XML file or in JSON format in a text file. You could then write code to read in the XML file, and use something like xml2struct.cfc to convert the XML into a struct, then append the struct to your application scope. If you go the JSON route, then just read in the JSON file and use DeserializeJSON() to convert it into a struct, and append it to the application scope.
What I think is probably the best approach is to use a community-supported MVC framework like FW/1 or ColdBox (maybe you already are, I don't think you've said so though). One of the many advantages to doing so is that they have built-in "environment" support that can be used to configure common settings, depending on your environment (dev/qa/production). You would handle reading in your external settings through the "environment" mechanism.
One other thing to think about: your login mechanism. I think you want to use one set of login tools that is shared by all of the "sub-applications". You can do this also by putting the login/authentication-related code somewhere outside the webroot of your applications, and then either set up a mapping to that location in CF Admin, or set an application-specific mapping in your various App.cfc files. That way all the "sub-applications" share a common set of code for the login process. I don't know how your login process works (do all users go to the same login page then get redirected into their relevant "sub-application", or does each "sub-application" have a discrete login page that utilizes common back-end processes to authenticate and redirect), so you'll have to judge how that is best accomplished.
Hopefully this gives you some useful ideas.

Infoset data issues need help ASAP

I have created an InfoSet, to read data from one Single ODS. The ODS has already data active, but the Query on infoset doesnt returns any data.also i checked in listcube `without any success.
Could you please advise me where it might be wrong. i didn't changed anything in infoset. Just created a Infoset on top of ODS.
I tried all the options and made sure that it's not authorization issue.i deleted the ods data and loaded some test data and tried to create a query on ods it's fetching the data but no data pulling by infoset.
something wrong inbetween infoset and ods. could you please advise me what might be wrong and how can i resolve.
might be some issues with the generated program or some issue with the database level.
some of the infosets i created fectching partial data , some are getting full data from ODS and some of the infosets not at all picking the data. Overall i have created about 80 Infosets.
We are in BW 3.5. Recently upgraded the patch successfully.
Looking forward for your precious advise.

just tried to go through it again, and it was close to finishing, less than a 1/2 hour left. and it got the error: "the installer is experiencing errors installing onto "Macintosh HD". The disk may be damaged, please try installing on another disk."
does that mean i'm going to have to buy a new internal hard-drive? once again any advice will be really helpful. Thanks
p.s. I also went and verified the disk again and it said there wasn't any issues with it. and i repaired it anyways and it said it was fine. This is super annoying
