My iphone was working PERFECTLY today. Tonight, I opened iTunes to sync some new music and had 2 updates available - one was for iTunes, one for iPhone. I docked my phone, installed and ran both updates, and they took FOREVER to run. I was so frustrated that I cancelled it at about 80% complete. Everything seemed fine until I was about to go to bed, I saw that my phone had no service. So I figured I'd just shut it off then turn it back on. Upon doing that, the phone turned on, but all I can do is make emergency calls. In addition, when I dock the phone, NOTHING is on iTunes. Just "iPhone" in grey in the background!!! Can anyone help?!?!?! Let me know if you need more info. :((
You cannot EVER update an unlocked or hacked iPhone, as yours obviously is if it works with a Vodaphone SIM card. Updating it may not work at all, or may turn it into an iBrick. The only way to update an unlocked phone is to first lock it, then update it, then unlock it again. A process we cannot discuss here; you need to go to the place you got the phone.

To make sure that this is not software related, set it back to factory settings, without using any backup data afterwards. Set up the rest of the personal settings manually and test the phone. If it still does not work, this is a hardware issue and the phone has to be serviced by Apple or an Authorized Apple Service Provider:

Hi, i had the same problem. Try to find the file "apple" or "itunes" don't know it anymore exactly. Ahm well you need to delet any information or just plug in your iphone into an other computer. important is that your iphone never has been pluged in this computer before. This was what i did, and it worked!

You should make a mapping for the service sapmsPRD in your /etc/services file (On Windows: C:WINDOWSSYSTEM32DRIVERSETCservices). If your instance number is 00 you will have to add the following entry:

Iphone problem, please help!!!
My 8gb Iphone 4 was saying it was full and wouldnt let me sync any new music/apps, etc. It had nearly 2gb of 'other' so using DiskAid I managed to delete all the 'other' files and have alot more space on my phone, however, after doing this, none of my songs will play. It skips through all my songs without me pressing anything, yet they play on my Itunes libary. I have tried syncing it all again, I have also tried to back up and restore my Iphone but it says there isnt enough space on the phone for me to do so. All my music is illegally downloaded as I cant afford to pay for songs on Itunes, and the songs I have actually bought from Itunes (which is about 5 songs) wont even play either. I spoke to a woman in my local Apple store and she suggested backing up everything and then restoring it, but I'm scared incase I do it wrong and lose everything. She said it is possible that the songs names are on my phone, but the actual track isnt.. How do I sort this? This is very urgent as I am doing a music course at college and I need my music on my phone! Please help me or I will end up smashing my phone with a hammer!
You have to do a DFU on the phone. the other stuff is firmwear and sofware. If you delete this than you must do a DFU. A DFU is pretty much distoying the phone and re-downloading everything. If you do this than you will not be able to restore from any back-up. I am with you man. I have a 64Gb iPhone 5 and the other files takes up 9Gb of space. It is very annoying.

I'm in trouble, my iPod Touch is giving 4th shock when recharge and the battery does not last any more. who knows or has a similar problem, please help me. Note: all this after I downloaded the new version OS5.
I would make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store because of the shock issue. I doubt it was caused by the update.

un-final methods can be overridden.You mean non-static (i.e. instance) methods. Class (static) methods cannot be overridden. Hidden or shadowed (I keep forgetting which is which), but not overridden.
I'm not actually sure about package-private though. If they can be overridden, the child class that does the overriding would have to be in the same package. I would guess that they'd be overridden in that situation, but it's possible that they'd be hidden/shadowed. I haven't bothered to look it up or try it.
