Magic Mouse A1296 or MB829LL/A

I'm looking to buy an Apple Magic Mouse, and keep seeing (on eBay) either an A1296 part number or MB829ll/A number. Does anyone know if there's a difference between these two models, or are they one and the same? I've done a bunch of searches and can't find any info on this.
Thanks,
Mark

: MB829LL/A is the current mouse sold in the apple store.
They appear to be the same model as shown here:

I don't think there's been but one model since introduction.

  • Latest Magic Mouse model

    Hi there,
I want to buy a magic mouse for my daughter and a friend is selling one and he says it's only a few months old. I am wondering if it's possible to confirm whether it's the latest model or not.
Can anyone confirm for me please what the latest model or serial number is to make sure that I'm buying the latest model is it just the one model with updates on software? I couldn't find much on the net for this.
    Thanks in advance,
    Maz

    If it looks like this...
    ...it's the latest version.

  • Will the magic mouse work well with my iMac G5?

I was wondering before i buy the Magic mouse cause my mighty mouse is getting old, if it will work with my iMac?
i did upgrade to leopard so i was wondering if it will work?
    thanks!

Based on the system requirements, on the product listing page at the Apple Store
    http://store.apple.com/us/product/MB829LL/A
it will work. Scrolling works with Leopard. +Momentum Scrolling+ makes the scroll continue a bit after you stop the motion with your finger, like the action has "momentum." Snow Leopard is required for that feature to work.

  • Will magic mouse and wireless keyboard work with my G4?

hello, i have a 1.25 Ghz ppc g4 imac and have leopard installed. i was wondering if i get a bluetooth dongle and a magic mouse and wireless keyboard would it work? would i also need a special kind of bluetooth adapter? i already have airport extreme, im going for the modern mac one wire (power cord) look. thank you.

According to this on the Apple Store:
    http://store.apple.com/us/product/MB829LL/A?fnode=MTY1NDA1Mg
the Magic Mouse requires at least OS 10.5.8 whcih you don't have.
The current wireless keyboard requires 10.6 which cannot run on a G4 iMac.
I would look to third-party solutions. I like Logitech input devices:
    http://www.logitech.com/en-us/home
However, even the Logitech devicez may require a higher version of the Mac OS than you have. Be certain to check system requirements very closely before buying something.

  • Latest model of magic mouse

I have seen on E-Bay a magic mouse model A1296 - is this discontinued in favour of a newer model? Are there any compatibility issues with these versions of the wireless mouse with a new MacBook Pro with Retina Display - late 2013 model? Thanks for advice offered.  John

    Barry,
Thanks for the advice.  I was slightly cautious about buying a Magic Mouse on E-Bay so I did buy a new device from an online retailer (Pixmania) that was selling this item for £50.90 which is a little bit cheaper than Apple.
So I have heeded your warning before reading your posting, but I can see the dilemma of buying a pre-owned device.
    Best Wishes for 2014.

  • Magic Mouse and Employing Pinch to Open and Close Feature

I have purchased a magic mouse and would like to employ the "pinch to open & close" features (option on multi-touch trackpad) with the magic mouse. This is not the same as zoom (e.g. hold control key with mouse wheel).
I have tried using bettertouchtool and magicprefs, but it appears that neither accommodates this feature easily. If there were a keyboard shortcut to employ this feature then I think I can assign it to a magic mouse gesture via BTT or Magic Prefs, but I cannot find such a keyboard shortcut.
    Does anyone have any ideas?

It could be you are approaching it incorrectly.   It can be a tricky little gadget that actually works with minimal pressure.
Try turning over the mouse so the compartment panel faces you, optical sensor topmost.  Then holding the mouse at each side but not on the panel itself, flick the small, black rectangular panel downwards.   The top of the panel should spring out, though it may require you to manipulate it fully away from the mouse.
Once you have replaced the batteries, starting at the bottom reverse the procedure then clip into place.   Remember to move the small switch next to the optical sensor upwards which should turn on the green light.   Then click twice to connect.

  • My magic mouse scrolling is stuttering in safari 5.0.5. Can anyone help?

    Hi all,
This has been a problem for a while now but am finally getting around to do something about it. I've increasingly noticed that when scrolling in Safari 5.0.5 it becomes stuttery/jittery using the magic mouse.
I've updated everything (OS, updates etc...) to the latest versions, have plenty of space left on my HD.
Does anyone have suggestions to get it fixed? Smooth scrolling is selected in mouse preferences.
    Kind regards,
    Jack

Same problem here. As well, every few minutes, the mouse doesn't scroll at all until I've scrolled up and down two or three times. Other forums have posts about this problem, too. Things that didn't help:
    • quitting/restarting Safari
    • restarting
    • resetting PRAM
    • turning off smooth scrolling
    The problem occurs independently of:
    • Flash websites
    • complex pages
    • currently loading pages (active, or background tabs)
    • any other wireless activity

  • Is there a way to open the notification pane using magic mouse?

Is there a way to open the notification pane using magic mouse? i mean it would be great if i could two finger swipe to the right for the notification pane (two finger swipe left opens dashboard)
I have Magic Prefs if it helps

It doesn't seem like this is possible in 10.9.1.  Can someone at Apple confirm or provide a solution?

Estes atalhos realmente aumentam a produtividade do trabalho no software: zoom, orbit, pan, etc...
