  • Magic Mouse Freezing

My Magic Mouse regulary freezes and stays down for about 5 minutes. Is there a simple fix?

So your bluetooth is frozen? Hmmm.
You just turn the mouse off & on again & mash the button 10times /sec until it kicks in again.

  • Magic Mouse freeze

My Magic mouse stopped working suddenly. Batteries 100%.  Computer says it is connected. Any ideas?

Same problem here.  New batteries, mouse battery level at 100% and it is paired with computer according to the System Preference. The cursor does not move but left and right clicking and scrolling work.  I have not found any help anywhere for this! No light under the mouse either.... It is just above a year old and worked fine until today.
    Any help welcome!

  • Magic Mouse Freezes up

    Hello -
I have read a few of the postings regarding this issue, specifically the response from BarryHemphill (which seemed to have worked for the person posting):
    "Hi:
Go to system preferences>bluetooth.  Highlight the device.  If the sidebar to the right does not show detailed information, click on the little gear and then "show more info."  Then click on the gear again and select "favorite."
    Barry iMac, Mac OS X (10.7.1), 4 GB memory,DSL"
I have done this, but still experience connection loss.  Is there another fix?
    Mike

Thanks, RRFS.  I did what you recommended, but still had the same results.
But I researched a little more here in the Support Communities and discovered the wireless keyboard and magic mouse REQUIRE a 1.5 volt battery and NOT the 1.2 volt rechargeable batteries I was trying to use - I figured a AA battery was a AA battery. I wasn't aware the rechargeable ones were smaller
The "Copper top" Duracell came thru again!! And thanks again!!!

  • Can't swipe back on websites any more..the page just freezes and i have to close it...this happens with both the trackpad and magic mouse. Also can't scroll down in iCal...any advice please?

While browsing online tonight my Wi-Fi failed and then after restarting I noticed that I can no longer swipe "back" on websites...when I swipe back to go to a previous page the browser just freezes – can’t click anything or navigate to another site – I have to close the browser and reopen it.
This happens in both Safari and Google Chrome with both Trackpad and Magic Mouse.
Also noticed that I can no longer scroll down in iCal… All the other gestures seem to be responding normally.
Anyone have advice as to how I can fix this?

Restart your computer and try again.
    Double check your AppleMenu()>System Preferences>Trackpad
    for all custom settings here.

  • Safari freezes when attempting to go back using the wipe function of the magic mouse.

Whenever I wipe a little bit to the side on my magic mous the opened tab starts freezing when attempting to go back.
Restart didn't help and there was no system error Message.
    Thank you for supporting!
By the way, I'm running Maverick already.

From the Safari menu bar, select
Safari ▹ Preferences... ▹ Privacy ▹ Remove All Website Data
    and confirm. Test.

  • Magic Mouse three finger freeze

I have a Magic Mouse that was working fine along with Magic Prefs.  Suddenly I  ran into freezing whenever I thought the mouse with three fingers.  I have removed all traces of MagicPrefs to no avail.  A quick search here showed some others with the same issue but I didn't find any clear answer.  Any thoughts as to where to look?
    Chris

Typo..."touch the mouse with three fingers"

  • Mouse freezes frequently (Magic and USB both)

My mouse freezes frequently. I have tried a Magic Mouse with fresh batteries and a USB mouse, and the problem happens in both. It is very frustrating! It will freeze for 5-20 seconds, sometimes every minute for several minutes, sometimes it will go an hour without freezing. What can I do?

I have been having this problem for a few weeks now.
I researched lots of threads but haven't seen this problem happening recently or in the latest update / with multiple types of mice / etc.
I should add that the keyboard (USB) is not having any connection problems.

  • Swipe between pages feature is freezing with magic mouse and magic trackpad in Mavericks

I am experiencing a bug in Mavericks with my Magic trackpad and the Magic mouse. This bug comes and goes and is very sporadic. When it happens I am usually in a browser like Firefox or Safari, or in iPhoto. Anything that uses the Swipe between pages feature usually locks up, and  on top of this it locks the scroling up and down function in the browsers and in iPhoto. The only thing that makes these functions work again is to reeboot or turn off bluetooth and turn it back on. I see that many people are having this problem in other posts, and I am just wondering if Apple is actually working on this bug or has somebody found what trigers this bug and do they have the fix for it?
    Thanks for your help
    Chris

Maybe this will help. You can look for other ideas in the 'More Like This' box to the right.

Send Apple feedback. They won't answer, but at least will know there is a problem. If enough people send feedback, it may get the problem solved sooner.

  • Macbook Pro keyboard and track pad freezes after a day or two of using bluetooth Magic Mouse

The first time this happened I thought my 3 y/old 17" Macbook Pro had died. The mouse cursor had frozen to the top left of the screen and the keyboard was also frozen and no matter what I did it didnt unfreeze. Even restarting. I searched extensively online and the only solution offered was to re install the system software.
The next day I took it into work, opened it ip there and the cursor and keyboard was working again.
This led me to believe there was a conflict with my recently purchased Magic Mouse and/or bluetooth.  Even though I had been using the mouse for well over 3 weeks with no problem.
I resumed using the Magic Mouse with the computer for another week and then the keyboard/trackpad froze again. The Magic Mouse remained active.  This time, I took the batteries out of the mouse and took the computer downstairs. After a couple of hours everything is working fine again.
Has anyone had this experience and knows how to fix? Or am I resigned to using a wired mouse?

I have never encountered anything similar. However, try resetting the PRAM and SMC.

  • Magic mouse sticks/freezes

Anyone else noticed a problem with the Magic Mouse in that it seems to get stuck for a few seconds at time?
It'll work perfectly, then I can't move it left or right (only barely), you can click, it'll move up and down more than left or right but still not much, and then after about 10 seconds it'll work perfectly.
If you pick the mouse up and bang it down very lightly it comes back to life too.
    Is it just mine?

There are several of us that have been having similar problems with bluetooth mice on the mac for at least a year now. If you look under jumpy mouse or erratic mouse or selectively slow in the bluetooth forums you will see hundreds of us with similar problems.
We have discovered that bluetooth mice seem to be selectively slow when downloading a large file or copying a large file or if a program is demanding significant resources. This slowness in slow motion looks like a jumpy mouse - no response and then an overly large response.
I have posted a video of the problem on Youtube. You can read additional comments there.
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OBzisliiVpg
My advice is to contact Apple Care and notify them of the problem. Don't be surprised if they claim not to know about it. This seems to be a common response. In addition, notify Apple by going to Apple.com/feedback and sending them an email. Eventually, Apple will figure out the source of this problem.
Finally, the problems don't exist in Bootcamp - Bluetooth mice are perfectly smooth in Windows. The problem exists in OSX - Amazing!

  • Magic Mouse disconnecting on Windows 7

So I bought the Magic Mouse a couple of days ago for my Dell Inspiron running Windows 7 64bit and I'm experiencing some problems.
Now I know that officially the mouse only works with Macs, but I loved it so much that I just decided to buy it already and see if I can somehow make it work. Looking back, I realize it was somewhat foolish on my part. But still, it's here and it's paid for.
Anyway, it paired just fine with my BT dongle (with a 0000 key), Windows automatically installed some drivers, and I installed one found on the internet.
Basically, it works as any normal mouse would, vertical scrolling and right|left click, with none of those 'special' features. I don't care about that tho, what bothers me is that it keeps freezing, or disconnecting, not sure what the right term is, every now and then. It just stops moving the cursor. I tried to time it, but once it disconnected after 20 min and the next after 5. I've been trying to make it work all day and it disconnected many, many times. Sometimes, it comes back after manually turning it off and then on again, other times, it takes up to 30 min.
I tried a number of things, updating the Bluetooth drivers, Windows tells me they are all up to date, restarting and switching off the PC, moving the dongle around, deleting and then pairing the mouse again. I even checked the power options, there was nothing related to the mouse there.
    Any help would be appreciated.

I am in the exact same situation after foolishly purchasing the mouse, and have installed the drivers to allow the basic functionality to work with Windows 7. Just as in your case the mouse freezes every once and a while, usually after it has not been used for at least 30 seconds or so. I have tried all the same steps and have not yet been able to fix the issue.
Are there others out there, that are also experiencing this and are there any ideas what can be done to fix it?

  • Turning off CMD + SCROLL zooming with Apple Magic Mouse?

Scrolling with Apple's Magic Mouse is extremely sensitive in Fireworks, so sometimes when I use a keyboard shortcut that involves the command key and I accidentally leave it pressed for just a split second after I perform the shortcut and I scroll at the same time, Fireworks will recognize the held-down key as wanting to "scroll'n zoom" and will quickly zoom in way too far/far out, sometimes causing the program to hang for freeze. Has anyone else experienced this and would be able to explain it better? It happens way too much for me. :/

    Hi
Same probem is here, suddenly pointer stopped to be active and no tracking at all. All buttons, gestures etc are performing well.
    - paired / unpaired > no result
    - replaced batteries > no result
    - cleaned contacts inside mouse > no result
    - cleaned laser > no result
Light is blinking only a few after mouse is connected, and completely stops to blink, while mouse buttons are working.
Tried to find solution on web, does not help much.
    Any solution?
    Thanks

  • Suddenly have issues with Magic Mouse

I have used the Magic Mouse almost since it was first put on the market and really love it.
I upgraded to Mavericks when it first came out, too. I am currently running Mavericks 10.9.2
However, this morning I turned on my iMac and all of a sudden, when I am in Safari and swipe, it catches and freezes Safari to the point that I have to quit Safari altogether and then log back in. It scrolls up and down in Safari just fine, it's just when I attempt to go right or left. Also, when I open Calendar, the Magic Mouse won't do any scrolling at all. I can click on something within the window and it works ok, but attempting to scroll the calendar up and down to a different month/week and nothing happens. I am also running the same version of Mavericks on my MBP and the mouse of it works just fine.
Anyone out there experiencing this also?
Anyone out there have some helpful tips for Dummies?
    Thanks.

    Sometimes I assume things...bad idea :)
