Magic Mouse gestures settings
Hi,
My magic mouse connects to my MBP and the cursor works, but the mouse settings window is the old one and i can not activate gestures for the mouse.
I´ve tried to reset PRAM and SMC with no effect.
Tried magicprefs.app with no effect.
Anyone got some suggestions for me?
Found the solution.
I have earlier installed usb overdrive, but this was removed.
Install the new version, and then unistalled it again, then the settings window is back to normal.

OK. I found the fix for the problem!
You need to reset the PRAM and SMC... I just did that and it completely fixed the problem.

Apple magic mouse gestures on Lion
Hi all
I just checked in this forum but didn't found a clear answer so I ask this question
Are the Apple magic mouse gestures working on Mac OS Lion ?
I just bought one 2 days ago and even recognized and in Preference panel all necessary check boxes checked no way to have the gestures working.
Thanks
Regards
BKantiqueSorted !!!!
I go back to the retailer and change the mouse and then once installed the new mouse doh !! still nothing..
After looking around in several forums about Lion issue suddenly I remember of a software I installed some months ago which is taking in charge USB (USB overdrive) and once inside I discovered that the mouse was attached to it...
Then I uninstall this software and restart my MBP and now my mouse works perfectly well all gestures supported, battery level shows and so on .....
What a waste of time but it's my fault just install this software in order to use a game pad which didn't worked and even with this software still continue to not being recognize by my games.... so loss for me to uninstall it anyway.. -
Problem with magic mouse gestures in safari
iMac 27", mid 2011
16 GB 1333Mhz
Using OS X Yosemite, Safari, Magic Mouse
one day no problem at all, the next day, without any new installations:
Whenever I use the swipe gesture to go back to a previous page,
It does not work and I cannot scroll on this page anymore.
Shutting down Safari and restarting it works.
I read a lot about this, it seems to be a known problem.
I did not use terminal to use direct command for remedy, but tried everything else I read:
power own the mouse, taking battery out, switching off BT for Mouse, several restarts of the iMac etc.
Nothing helps.
As I am so used to the gestures for a very long tome, it takes only seconds, before I swipe back-- and that´s it!
I have to restart Safari.
I would be very thankful for your help!
best,
FredHi seventy one,
many thanks for your efforts to help me!!
but I just solved my problem doing the exact same as someone else did:
I cite him here:

Re: Magic Mouse Scrolling Issuein response to Linc Davis
Hi Linc
Thank you for the extremely detailed response.
I think I have the issue solved for the minute at least.
I not only disconnected every cable from the Mac, as I had previously done, I also disconnected every cable from my peripherals and powered down every peripheral as well, then re-wired my set-up. This seems to have solved the issue. Not sure of the technical reason that this would have fixed my problem, but it seems to have fixed the issue for the moment anyway.
So, my problem is solved too!!
Many thanks -
Magic mouse gestures not working
Hi,
the gestures of my magic mouse stop working.
I've tried another mouse on my laptop and it work
I also tried my mouse on another laptop and the same problem happens.
it's behaving like a "normal" mouse.
Is this a hardware problem? if yes, How do I fix it?
Please advise,
CMReset the SMC and PRAM, it make take 2-3 attempts to fully clear them. If those do not work restart in Safe Mode to clear some caches.
SMC RESET
Shut down the computer.
Unplug the computer's power cord and all peripherals.
Press and hold the power button for 5 seconds.
Release the power button.
Attach the computers power cable.
Press the power button to turn on the computer.
PRAM RESET
Shut down the computer.
Locate the following keys on the keyboard: Command, Option, P, and R. You will need to hold these keys down simultaneously in step 4.
Turn on the computer.
Press and hold the Command-Option-P-R keys. You must press this key combination before the gray screen appears.
Hold the keys down until the computer restarts and you hear the startup sound for the second time.
Release the keys. -

Where are magic mouse gestures in iPhoto?
Before lion upgrade, a two finger swipe would allow you to switch between photos in iPhoto '11. This no longer seems to be the case. Any thought on how to enable this (similar to the new gesture in Safari, one finger swipe to go back or fwd).
One 3rd party solution would be to use Better Touch Tool and define a gesture for iPhoto only. Works well. Still, I feel your frustration with Apple for not making these gestures more universal.

How to set up gesture on Magic Mouse for Launchpad ?
I wonder is there any gesture to open Launchpad on the Magic Mouse like on the Magic Trackpad ???
...which suggests the answer to your original question is 'no'!
If you want to use LP with a mouse, you'll need to click it from the Dock icon or Applications folder.
You could try 3rd party tools, like Better Touch Tool, which has some support for Magic Mouse gestures, but I don't use it myself so couldn't say whether that includes support of an LP gesture. Still, its free to try out, so easy to find out (let us know if it does!). -
MacOSX forgetting Magic Mouse settings after restart
Hello together,
since today my MacOS X (MacBook Pro, 10.6.6, early 2011) seems to forget my Magic Mouse movement settings every time I restart OSX and after waking up from sleep mode. The settings are always put to minimum automatically.
Every time I have to fix it in the System settings.
I have already repaired the HDD access rights and set the Magic Mouse to Favorite. Without effect to the problem.
Does anybody have an idea what could be the reason for this problem and how to solve it?
Thanks and Regards
ManuelManuel,
Try going into System Prefs->Accounts. Unlock it. Look in "Login Items" and delete MagicPrefs application. Restart your computer. It worked for me... -
Magic Mouse and Employing Pinch to Open and Close Feature
I have purchased a magic mouse and would like to employ the "pinch to open & close" features (option on multi-touch trackpad) with the magic mouse. This is not the same as zoom (e.g. hold control key with mouse wheel).
I have tried using bettertouchtool and magicprefs, but it appears that neither accommodates this feature easily. If there were a keyboard shortcut to employ this feature then I think I can assign it to a magic mouse gesture via BTT or Magic Prefs, but I cannot find such a keyboard shortcut.
Does anyone have any ideas? It could be you are approaching it incorrectly. It can be a tricky little gadget that actually works with minimal pressure.
Try turning over the mouse so the compartment panel faces you, optical sensor topmost. Then holding the mouse at each side but not on the panel itself, flick the small, black rectangular panel downwards. The top of the panel should spring out, though it may require you to manipulate it fully away from the mouse.
Once you have replaced the batteries, starting at the bottom reverse the procedure then clip into place. Remember to move the small switch next to the optical sensor upwards which should turn on the green light. Then click twice to connect. -

Bizarre Magic Mouse behavior in Lion
This is a bit hard to explain, but it's driving me batty, so let's see if I can.
I have a 27" iMac from the previous generation, and the Magic Mouse it came with.
Sometimes when I'm scrolling through a web page in Safari, or about to select something else after I have finished with a web page, the middle column of the page (where most of the information is) is suddenly magnified to fill the entire window, and I can't get it to return to the original magnification.
It looks like it's the feature where you're supposed to be able to double-tap the mouse to zoom into a column, but when I try deliberately double tapping the mouse it selects a word. So when I want to invoke this feature, I can't, but I can invoke it completely by accident, when I almost never actually want it. Double tapping the mouse again does nothing at all.
Has anyone had a similar problem and know what makes it happen? I'm very confused about this .
Thanks!
DavidI'm somewhat disappointed by this because I like the feature in principle, but when I try to use it it won't do anything. Very frustrating and strange.
Maybe I need to give the Magic Trackpad a try. It seems like Apple is really pushing stufff that only really works on trackpads nowadays, but at the time I got my iMac a bit over six months ago, the Magic Mouse gesture support seemed to work just as well. With the new gestures I think the trackpad might really be the way to go.

Magic mouse scrolling wont work
Hey i just bought a Magic Mouse for 69euros, i did the wirells mouse 1.0 update and hooked the thing up. I went to pref->mouse and my lovely mac connected it.
However i am unable to scroll whatsoever. for 69euros this is unexaptable for me since my 5euro usb mouse owns this thing atm bc it can scroll.
Please help me and tell me what to do, to be able to scroll w the magic mouse.
thanks!Dirkvanb wrote:

Use one finger from top to bottom (vertically) as if you're rolling over an imaginary wheel to scroll up and down. One finger horizontally will scroll left to right.
You should view [This Tutorial|http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zGSLtkFV0dc] that shows Magic Mouse gestures including scrolling. -

Someone told me that ABAP mapping is faster than Java mapping cause it runs on ABAP stack straight away, where as Java mapping runs on Java stack and then transfers the result to ABAP stack whic reduces effieciency. Does that mean me should prefer AB
