  • Exposé and Spaces need three tries to activate... ?

I hope this is in the right area. I didn't see a forum for Exposé and Spaces problems.
Every time I start my computer up, and then go to use Spaces, or show my desktop, it takes three clicks or button presses to get the feature to activate. It doesn't matter how long I wait after booting, or how long I wait between button presses (I think). It's really weird, but I can't really find anything wrong. After I get it going the first time, it keeps working.
Does anyone know what this is?

I'd be really appreciative if someone could give me some input on what they think this is.

  • My wired Apple Magic Mouse is frozen and I am unable to move around on my Mini Mac.  I receive a window saying the computer cannot locate a wireless mouse.  How do I get my mouse to work again.

My Magic Mouse is frozen.  How do I get it to work again?  Also I keep getting a window that says it cannot locate my wireless mouse.  I do not have a wireless mouse.

Got confused between your header question about a wired mouse and the main question about a wireless mouse.  You said your magic mouse was frozen and added you do not have a wireless mouse.   Problem is ... the magic mouse is wireless.   The original mighty mouse was the corded version.
The wired mouse is a regular problem.  After two to three years it tends to clog up. You can clean it (to a degree) as follows.
Using an alcohol moistened, not wet, cotton bud, scratch at the mouse ball for a minute or so.   Then turn it upside down and on a clean piece of thick white paper or card on a firm surface, vigorously rub the mouse ball on the paper in a regular figure of eight.  Do this for a minute or so and occasionally tap the mouse on the paper.   This will help dislodge bits of fluff etc.   Then try again

I have downloaded and installed 10.8.5 combo but it does not help.
Menu bar - System Preferences/ there is no bluetooth item
    I restarted with cmd + alt + P + R it doesn't help.

Did you try the suggestions from your other post on this?

  • Magic Mouse: Is there and easy way to keep switching scroll on and off

I'm afraid I'm not very adventurous with Magic Mouse. The only feature I use is One finger Scroll - with intertia. Its great for web surfing. Trouble is its a nightmare for programmes like illustrator and inDesign where the page leaps about in a crazy way at the slightest touch. So, I currently spend all day going to System Preferences - Mouse - to switch the Scroll feature on or off. Does anyone know a better way of doing this? Is there a keyboard command? Could I set something up in Automator? The ideal would be on the mouse itself: Two taps turns it on, two taps turns it off. I've just downloaded an app called BetterTouchTool which I though would be an answer to my prayers - but I can figure it out.
    Any ideas, anyone?

    Thanks Capfred
I've tried switching off inertia - but I prefer it for websites. Inertia is much faster and more fun to use. Annoying thing is, I never had this problem with the old Mighty Mouse because it was easy to avoid touching the little scroll ball when I didn't want to. My body language is obviously not cut out for Magic Mouse because sometimes when I'm reaching for it my finger must slightly slide across it before I grip it firmly. This isn't a problem on most websites because the only option is to scroll up and down. But in Illustrator and inDesign, this causes my carefully centred page to go flying left or right and I have to use a keyboard command to re-centre it.
I'm sure I can't be the only one to have this problem!

  • Exposé and Spaces

Hello I have this little problem I want to solve because it´s boring.
When you are dealing with Exposé you just need to click on the shortcut, then the windows will move aside, then you just need to put your mouse ( without clicking ) and the chosen window will be brought to the front.
On Spaces to chose the Space you want you need to click on the mouse to chose the space you want. Is it possible to code this to be like Exposé ( without clicking) ?
    thanks for your time

  • I left my Magic Mouse on overnight and now the scrolling and swiping does not work. Help Me!

    Hey guys,
About a month agop I got a Magic Mouse as a Birthday present and have been using it semi regularly on my Macbook. However, last night I accidentally left the mouse on while the computer was off overnight. Initially the mouse was completely not working, so I managed to reboot it by deleting certain things in the extensions folder (AppleBluetoothMutlitouch.kext and AppleMultitouchDriver.Kext) and while the mouse works fine now, the scrolling and swiping functions no longer work. I've tried downloading the update on the mac site, but everytime the message "a newer version of this software already exists" pops up!
I'm completely stumped (and I do not have USB Overdrive on my Mac)

It's obvious that you need a screen repair.
    This tells you prices:  http://www.apple.com/support/ipod/service/prices/
If you bring your ipod into an apple store, they can also ship it out for repairs. Also you should back up your ipod onto your computer before you bring it anywhere, so your memory doesnt get wiped out. If you have itunes IOS 6.1.3, plug the device into the computer, bring up itunes, in the top right hand corner click the button that says ipod, then click summary. Near the center of the page should be a button that says back up now. Click that and it will save all of your ipod's ino to your computer so you can re-download it when its fixed. Hopes this helps!

  • Magic mouse constantly disconnects and can't get it to connect without rebooting the computer.  Anyone else have this issue

How do you solve the problem of the magic mouse constantly disconnecting?  I have changed the batteries and turn it on and off, but the only way to get it to reconnect seems to be re-starting the computer.  Any thoughts?  Thank you.

    Greetings Beth,
Wireless devices are susceptible to interference.  Review this article for common sources: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3048#5
They are also very sensitive to low power.  Make sure you are using VERY fresh batteries.  If they have been sitting on a shelf for months they don't count as fresh IMO.
Troubleshooting steps to try after you read that article at the top:
Remove the following to the trash: Macintosh HD > Library > Preferences > com.apple.Bluetooth.plist
Restart the computer and re-pair the mouse and keyboard
If issue persists reset the SMC:http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3964
If the issue persists reset the PRAM:http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1379
    Hope that helps!

  • Is possible to pair magic mouse to one and only Mac?

Question is in the title. Yes, Go to System Preferences > Bluetooth > on the machines you want to remove it from (MBP).
Highlight the mouse in the list to the left and click the "-"  icon below the list to unpair it.
The mouse will only connect to machines that it has been paired with and appear in the list above.
    Regards,
    Captfred

  • Magic mouse right click and scroll

Hi. Ive recently just started having some problems with my magic mouse. The cursor and single click works fine, but all of a sudden the right click, as well as the scrolling has completely stopped working. When I try to right click, it acts just like the mouse is set to have only a single click, and the scroll just doesn't work at all.
Ive checked the mouse settings, and scroll as well as right click were both still selected. Ive also made sure to run the software update so everything is up to date.
    thanks!

    Hello, kgorringe,
For the circumstances you describe, this link to the Apple knowledge base should help you.   Go through it paragraph by paragraph as some aspects intrude on others.

  • Magic Mouse-Right click and left click reversed?

Hello! Thanks in advance for any info you can provide regarding my problem. My wireless keyboard and magic mouse recently has been disconnecting from Bluetooth. A few days ago they both quit, and after a call to apple tech support, I tried everything, including re-loading my system software(Mac Pro, Snow Leopard 10.6.2) When my keyboard and mouse finally came back up, when I de-selected the right click, the mouse wouldn't click. The cursor moves around, but no click. I have to plug in another mouse and select right click, and then the mouse will click, but the right and left click are reversed.
At one point, when plugging in an old wired mouse, I was able to select whether I wanted to enable the right or left click, and when I selected left click, the mouse quit clicking. I can't seem to get thatoption now with a wired mouse, and that might not even be related.
Can anyone help! I'd like to get my Magic mouse working correctly!
    Thanks for all your help!
    Mark S.

    Hello ms:
    Welcome to Apple discussions.
Try trashing a preference file (com.apple.bluetooth.plist) and restarting.

  • Can I use Magic Mouse, Track Pad and the wireless keyboard together?

Can I use a Magic Mouse, a Track Pad,  and the wireless keyboard together at once?
    Thanks.

    All through bluetooth?

  • Magic Mouse tracking poorly and losing Bluetooth connectivity since Mountain Lion upgrade

Since upgrading to Mountain Lion I have experienced frequent and inconsistant tracking from my Magic Mouse. It will work fine and then out of no where, and without any connection to a particular app or process (that I can identify) it will begin stop moving or move in a very jittery fashion. I'm also experiencing Bluetooth connection loss with the mouse from time to time out of nowhere. I cleaned the mouse and even went to so far as to replace it with another, brand new Magic Mouse and have seen the same problem.
I have also tried resetting PRAM and SMC.
Anyone else experiencing this or a similar issue? Have any suggestions of things to try?
    Mac Pro (Early 2008)
    Processor  2 x 2.8 GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon
    Memory  26 GB 800 MHz DDR2 FB-DIMM
Graphics  ATI Radeon HD 5870 1024 MB
    Software  OS X 10.8 (12A269)

Well , regarding of this issue i did some tests and i've reached to some conclusions to fix it.
    Steps
    1. turn off the magic mouse
    2. remove batteries
    3. put everything back and power on.
    4. pair your mouse again if you remove it from the tab
    5. leave the option discoverable marked down
    6. add to favorite from bluetooth menu (you will see a red heart with yes )
    7. should work for now
Test 1 : Mac mini 2010 with OSX Lion 10.7.4
Test 2 : MBA 2012 with OSX Mountain Lion 10.8.1
Conclusion : still have a bug not showing the right battery level (only 100%)but if you use "iStat" widget you will see the real level.
Magic mouse doesn't have, unfortunatelly the multipoint technology so if you use on multiple cpu in the same area can create instability (leave only one of a time and remove it from the bluetooth tab on other cpu)
I belive its working only using step 6, but to be sure
