Magic mouse on glass mouse mat

I use a glass mouse mat with a couple of gaming mice but i have another mouse that doesnt like it
i'm just wondering does magic mouse work with glass mouse mat?
thanks

The Magic Mouse works well on any surface the laser light doesn't penatrate.  Glass doesn't work well but if the black glass is dense enough it could.  Using a mouse pad or piece of paper or magazine will fix that issue.

  • Magic Mouse on Glass Surface

    Hello All,
i have my new iMac i7 on its way from China to the US. I have a glass surfaced desk at home and wonder if any of you know if the magic mouse will work on that material. Appreciate your help!!!

I ordered an aluminum mouse pad to go with the new Magic Mouse, is called the MacPadd. Apparently the inventor is a rather strange individual (do a Google search on MacPadd) however the mouse pad is very sharp.
I have a feeling that they may not be available for long and are probably going to become collector items, therefore if you are interested, I would place an order before they are sold out.
I ordered direct from their American distributor, Other World Computing.

  • Inside lesion in the top surface glass of my Magic Mouse

    Hallo to all.
This is my Magic Mouse purchesed in Itali on March 22 2011.
I always always maximum care and it has never any fallen. These days I've suddenly noticed a lesion in a top glass surface . What should I do? Does Apple warranty cover these problems?
    Thanks

As it's still under warranty I'd call Applecare and they'll probably replace it for you.

  • Magic Mouse vs. Glass Table Top

    Hi -
Will the new magic mouse work on a glass table top? I have been having issue with my older mouse not functioning on the glass table top and wondered if I took the plunge to a new magic mouse if I would experience the same thing. Other mice (e.g Logitech) touts a dark laser that should work, but I did not want to go that route unless necessary.
    Thanks - Ziggy

It seems to have started when I tried to use it on a black glass table.
Try using it on a mouse pad or a plain piece of white paper.

  • Magic Mouse - worst mouse i've ever used

My magic mouse has left scratches on my mouse mat, my glass table from ikea which was expensive and the battery cover rattles when i touch it. Its out of the maximum days of return to apple so what do i do? I just want to get rid of it, i've had it since it came out and i've not enjoyed any moment of it. I've just been using my razer deathadder and it glides along the mat like a feather but the magic mouse is like a piece of lead with spikes stuck to it. I've tried requesting a repair but it says i've not entered the right data which is ridiculous because i know how to read.

    Hi MattStreet89;
If you are dissatisfied with an Apple product you can being it back to Apple even if the return days have expired. It sounds like there is a real problem with your m]magic mouse.

  • Recommendations for good mouse pad for new Magic Mouse?

Hi, I have several mouse pads with a microfiber, but my new Magic Mouse doesn't operate smoothly on them. Sometimes it hangs up, or is slower to move than at other times. I tried an expensive one made of coated glass, but the noise of the Magic Mouse (with its two long strips) rubbing on the coated surface was too much, so I returned it. Any recommendations? Thanks! Duncan

I have one of these. Works great, looks cool next to the keyboard!

  • Magic Mouse can't click

Recently my iMac (Intel, with Lion) won't react to mouse clicks. I can move the cursor but there is no reaction when I click. I have a Magic Mouse but I get the same result with a Logitech wireless mouse. Could it be related to my new metal and glass computer desk? I have a password on starting the iMac so I can't even get in past that.

Probably not the new desk. Try a
    PRAM RESET
    Zap the PRAM
    Shut down the computer.
Locate the following keys on the keyboard: Command, Option, P, and R. You will need to hold these keys down simultaneously in step 4.
    Turn on the computer.
Press and hold the Command-Option-P-R keys. You must press this key combination before the gray screen appears.
Hold the keys down until the computer restarts and you hear the startup sound for the second time.
    Release the keys.

  • Magic mouse dilemma....

Right, try and work this one out if you will please ladies and gentlemen...
I have a magic mouse that i've had for around a year and it works absolutely fine with my macbook pro of a similar age, no issues... Recently the track pad gave up on my mac mini, late 2013 model so I thought, no drama, I'll use me magic mouse... Connects fine, everything is fine other than the tracking, very jittery.. Still using same mouse mat as with macbook pro where as said, no issues... No drama I thought, I'll just go out and get another magic mouse, one for each, so brand new magic mouse, still performing with my mac mini the same as the old one, jittery as ya like tracking,,, ):
Tried new mouse with macbook, fine, no issues..!! All on the same mousemat this is.. Here's the sting, when I use either of my mice on my sofa instead of my mousemat, they both work fine with my mac mini...!!!! How on gods earth can that be...????
Any help here would be most gratefully appreciated coz this has proper done me brain in... ):
I don't want to use my sofa as a mousemat obviously and as said, both mice work fine on mousemat with macbook, brain damage....!!

Well, just had a bit of a moment of clarity I think.... There's me thinking my trackpad had gone west coz it was doing the same thing, jittery tracking so that ended up in the bin, now I've had the same problem with the new mouse...!!! And I've also noticed that my keyboard connection is dropping out sometimes as well, only when not in use, when typing it's fine but starting to think it may be a bluetooth receiver problem on my mac mini, does that sound feasible...?? Altho I'm not quite sure how that would explain my mouse working perfectly on my sofa...!!
I'm not used to having this kind of thinking with apple lol, I've never had any problems with anything before...!!

  • Best Surface for Magic Mouse?

I am on a wooden desk and used a Magic Mouse just recently.. Its been ok, but jumpy and not that precise..
I have tried a mouse mat which was a little better, but then a small portable table which wasn't ideal but managed to get close enough to the desk and its very accurate!
I realise before ditching the Magic Mouse and its jumpyness etc that its not the mouse but the surface!
Can anyone recommend the most accurate surface for MM? is it a black/white mouse mat? wood?
I had no idea this would make so much difference!!

    Hello:
I have seen nothing that indicates a "best" pattern.  I use an old "Alaskan Moose Pad" mouse pad complete with a moose picture and it works very well.

  • How best to clean the bottom of the magic mouse?

The two black strips on the bottom of the magic mouse collect a lot of schmutz that I have to scrape off with a fingernail once or twice a day.  My desk is not that dirty, I swear!  Is there anything I can do to prevent this endless dirtying/cleaning cycle?

You need to keep your mouse mat clean!

  • Magic Mouse and Employing Pinch to Open and Close Feature

I have purchased a magic mouse and would like to employ the "pinch to open & close" features (option on multi-touch trackpad) with the magic mouse. This is not the same as zoom (e.g. hold control key with mouse wheel).
I have tried using bettertouchtool and magicprefs, but it appears that neither accommodates this feature easily. If there were a keyboard shortcut to employ this feature then I think I can assign it to a magic mouse gesture via BTT or Magic Prefs, but I cannot find such a keyboard shortcut.
    Does anyone have any ideas?

It could be you are approaching it incorrectly.   It can be a tricky little gadget that actually works with minimal pressure.
Try turning over the mouse so the compartment panel faces you, optical sensor topmost.  Then holding the mouse at each side but not on the panel itself, flick the small, black rectangular panel downwards.   The top of the panel should spring out, though it may require you to manipulate it fully away from the mouse.
Once you have replaced the batteries, starting at the bottom reverse the procedure then clip into place.   Remember to move the small switch next to the optical sensor upwards which should turn on the green light.   Then click twice to connect.

  • My magic mouse scrolling is stuttering in safari 5.0.5. Can anyone help?

    Hi all,
This has been a problem for a while now but am finally getting around to do something about it. I've increasingly noticed that when scrolling in Safari 5.0.5 it becomes stuttery/jittery using the magic mouse.
I've updated everything (OS, updates etc...) to the latest versions, have plenty of space left on my HD.
Does anyone have suggestions to get it fixed? Smooth scrolling is selected in mouse preferences.
    Kind regards,
    Jack

Same problem here. As well, every few minutes, the mouse doesn't scroll at all until I've scrolled up and down two or three times. Other forums have posts about this problem, too. Things that didn't help:
    • quitting/restarting Safari
    • restarting
    • resetting PRAM
    • turning off smooth scrolling
    The problem occurs independently of:
    • Flash websites
    • complex pages
    • currently loading pages (active, or background tabs)
    • any other wireless activity

  • Is there a way to open the notification pane using magic mouse?

Is there a way to open the notification pane using magic mouse? i mean it would be great if i could two finger swipe to the right for the notification pane (two finger swipe left opens dashboard)
I have Magic Prefs if it helps

It doesn't seem like this is possible in 10.9.1.  Can someone at Apple confirm or provide a solution?

Estes atalhos realmente aumentam a produtividade do trabalho no software: zoom, orbit, pan, etc...
