Magic mouse problems

Magic Mouse will not zoom even when set to zoom in system preference

There are two methods to zoom.  Full screen zoom and "smart zoom".  Full screen zoom works when you hold down the CNTL key and scroll up/down.  You can check that it's enabled (and which key to hold) in System Preferences > Universal Access > Seeing tab > uncheck "Zoom in window" > click the Options... button > check Use scroll wheel with modifier keys to zoom".    (This also assumes scrolling is enabled on the mouse).
The second method is "smart zoom".  It's enabled in System Preferences > Mouse > Point & Click > check Smart Zoom.
This only works in some apple programs.  Check it in Safari.  Move the cursor to an area in the web browser and Double Tap with One finger.  It should zoom to that area.  You can double tap One finger again to zoom out.

  • Apple magic mouse problem

    hello
so today i changed my Apple mouse batteries and now it disconnects by itself all the time and it's annoying me alot!
    what is the problem here?

    Hi code-itunes,
Thank you for contributing to the Apple Support Communities.
It sounds like your Magic Mouse is not staying connected to your Mac. I know this can be an annoying situation.
If your Magic Mouse started disconnecting after you changed the batteries, you may want to try another set of batteries in case the ones you're using are depleted.
If the same thing happens with multiple sets of new batteries, next try the tips in this article:

    hi there
i got a big problem with my magic mouse after installing a new audio interface (RME BABFACE) .... after installing and restarting the system, the magic mouse jumps to corners and clicks even when I don´t push "click" on it... it goes totally crazy.... you can´t work with that... t

i repaired the hard drive permissions and checked them also.... no success.
anyone has an idea or did had some similar problem ?
i also started a thread in RME forum but no answer so far...
my system is mac mini i7 with lion 10.7.4

    Hi ruddager --
    Have you tried different batteries?
Like plain AA batteries. Or the Lithium AA batteries?
What are you using for a mouse pad? Have you tried a different (plain) surface?

  • Bizarre Magic Mouse problem

Hi! I just got a magic mouse to use on my mac pro and am having the most bizarre problem with it. The movement of the pointer on the screen in very sluggish and glitchy to respond, as if its on a bad surface or the cpu is being hit super hard and causing everything to slow down or something (it isn't).
The random this about this is the mouse works fine on my iMac and Macbook?!?! Which would suggest the a bluetooth problem on my mac pro yes? But i've tried my old bluetooth mighty mouse on it and it works fine!!
I have tried all kinds of different surfaces, installed the 1.0 wireless mouse update, re installed it again manually incase it corrupted, reset the smc and pram, but nothing seems to make any difference! It's driving me insane lol...
Applecare where stumped too, and there only suggestion was to take the machine and mouse to a store, which i don't really fancy doing as its a mac pro
Has anyone else had / heard of anything like this? Any ideas of what the problem could be or possible solutions would be greatly appreciated!!
    Thanks,
    John

I am experiencing the same problem. In fact, just now (with batteries at 93% and the mouse 2 ft from the mini) it lost connection. Please file a bug report.
We are all just users here. Apple has a simple bug report system and it's open to the public: http://www.apple.com/feedback/macosx.html - Choose the Feedback Type as "Bug Report" and be sure to include every detail you can think of about you OS, the way it was installed, and the exact model of Mac you have. You can get the Model Identifier by launching System Profiler in your Utilities folder and click on Hardware.
Sorry to hear you are having a problem with your Magic Mouse. I just unpacked another iMac tonight and it's importing data right now. It's the first one we've received with the new mouse. I'll be sure to check it out thoroughly and will file my own reports as needed.

  • Il magic mouse problemi

il mio magic mouse si deisconette continuamente anche con batteria cariche al 100%
mi da connessione perduta e dopo un po' di tempo si riconnette
    perchè questo problema???
    grazie...

    We need far more information.
Has it previously scrolled horizontally?   Is the fault restricted to certain browsers or program facilities?   What machine are you using it on?    Has this problem appeared following an OS upgrade.

  • MAGIC MOUSE Problem 24" iMac.

I recently purchased the new magic mouse, having tried it in store and being amazed with it. It woks fantastically on my MacBook Running 10.6.2. It works fine on my works MacPro running Tiger. But with my iMac running 10.6.2 it is very often sluggish. Unresponsive. Slow. Then at times it can work fantastically for a couple of minutes. Then it goes sluggish again.
I also have an externally powered USB hub connected that is attached to the stand at the top of the stand at the back of the iMac.
I don't have the USB overdrive thing isntalled that some people references in forums that bring up this same issue.
I have tried contacting apple. Nothing works. I have done a clean install. I have dumped my prefs. I have unpaired the mouse umpteen times. The problem gets solved momentarily.
More recently now when i click once the **** dashboard keeps coming up - this wasn't happening before.
I have set response and tracking in the prefs panel to max and still it's slow and unresponsive!!
Incidentally i have big problems with my Airport on this iMac also. I have trouble getting it to communicate reliably with my Apple TV and my Wireless router. Sometimes it's fine. Sometimes it's not. it's driving me nuts and Apple Tech support are next to useless. My local authorised repair centre are claiming it might be a software issue and want to bill me for their time because they say it isn't hardware.
I'm getting so fed up with it now. The mouse has come so close to hitting the wall. I waste at least 2 hours every night trying to pair, unpair, reset etc and NOTHING works and Apple are next to useless at solving it.
PLEASE CAN SOMEONE HELP ME, THAT HAS BEEN GOING OF FOR WEEKS AND NOW WASTING MY TIME AND MONEY WHEN I SHOULD BE WORKING EARNING IT, NOT WASTING TIME TRYING TO RESOLVE THIS.

    HI,
    I hear your pain.
Just a shot in the dark but perhaps interference is the cause, go here.

  • Magic mouse problems with windows 7

I connect the magic mouse to the computer, I can right click and left click. but it's not doing other stuff!!!!!!!
    Hopes help

Well you need to say exactly what you are doing... Are you running Bootcamp or Parallels or VMware etc? Or are you just running a PC?

  • Magic Mouse problems on Lion...

I just finished installing Lion and my first impression is that I hate it! I'm having the following issues (of which help would be greatly appreciated...)
    1. With Magic Mouse I can no longer do a 2-finger swipe to go back/forward on Safari or Chrome. Any way to get this back?
    2. Does the scrolling up/down with Magic Mouse seem backwards to anyone else?
    3. It definitely takes longer to open applications in Lion...its not fun waiting for Chrome or Safari to open. I have upgraded to 4 gb RAM but doesn't seem to help. I realize my computer is on the old side (about 3 yrs old now) but it ran perfectly before!
Thank you so much for your help...hopefully I can learn to love Lion like I've loved other Apple products.

rdaufmann87, thanks for the info. Would that there were a "kind" column. When I go to System Information and select Applications under Software, I see a Kind *field* and I am able to see the data for only one application at a time. Looks like this:
      Version:    1.6.65
      Last Modified:    [1/14/11] 9:52 :34AM |1/14/11
      Kind:    Universal
      64-Bit (Intel):    No
      App Store:    No
      Get Info String:    1.6.65, 11/16/2008 21:00
      Location:    /Applications/Adobe/Acrobat.com.app
So my option is to select each of my hundreds of apps, one at a time, and see what is in the Kind field. Not optimal.
Still unaddressed: why can't I right click using my Magic Mouse in Lion? This is the earliest I have ever gone to a new Mac OS (starting with v1.1), and I am now regretting it after seeing how much trouble many folks are having.

  • Magic Mouse problems with swiping/selection

I've had two Magic Mice on OS X10.9.2. With both, the system deselects swiping in System Prefences after I select it. Pages 'bounce' in Word and Powerppoint, such that it's extremely hard to edit documents and presentations. Setting the sensitivity doesn't seem to help. Randomly, I can't click-select text in documents in Word.
    Ideas?

Aaannnnnddddddd.... this has been really helpful - not.
A piece of advice for everyone, then: don't buy a Magic Mouse if you're using Word or Powerpoint. They're trash.

  • Magic mouse problems with MacPro 2013

Installed my new Mac Pro version late 2013 and all was working well. Yesterday I added two USB3 hubs and now I am having issues with my Magic Mouse. It looses its conection and is erradic in operation. Would be surprised if it was the hubs but I suppose I should disconect them and find out. Thought the new MacPro would have a better antena on the Bluetooth. Mouse has 60% power. What items will interfere with bluetooth. I am also using Parallels with Windows 7 running.

I suspect it is the hubs. Bluetooth on a Mac uses USB ports.
If you look at "about this Mac>system reports>USB" you will see what I mean.

  • Magic mouse problem, please heeelllppp!!!

My magic mouse can't click, scroll or anything....it just can move over the screen, but the movement seems to be so disordered
Last day, everything was fine with the Mouse
I didnt fall it down or crack it with anything around...
I've installed Mac Os Mountain Lion for about a week, I wonder if it's about the software or hardware (I mean the Mouse)
    Pleaseeee Help!!!!
    Thank you very much.

  • Gesture magic mouse problem!!!

With app in full screen and mouse with the two magic fingers on the right do not look through the other applications!

    Hello:
I do not know of any similar problem...however, try resetting the SMC and PRAM.  Might help and cannot hurt.

  • Magic mouse problem - side to side scrolling...

Is anyone else having a problem with mouse partially working? I can scroll up and down, zoom in, and swipe with 2 fingers but can't scroll horizontally or 360. Also I can only use the scroll up and down feature with 1 finger if the web page has a side scroll bar. So for instance I can only use mouse in the traditional way on the imac front page or on a web page without a scroll bar. This is driving me nuts!
I can't understand how it's half working. Do I need to send it back? On os 10.6.2 and showing up in pref box with all options ticked. Have only had imac a couple of weeks so any suggestions would be great - thanks.

It seems obvious that you can't scroll horizontally unless the page you're visiting, or your document, is larger than the width of your window.

  • Magic Mouse Problem

Sorry if this is in the wrong area but I need help as it is driving me nuts.
My new MM is opening every link the cursor rests on. Is this a feature, do I have to rest the cursor on an empty space every time (which is a pain) or is there a way to stop it doing this?

If it is clicking cleanly but triggering links without interaction...not good.
Can you test another mouse on that computer and/or test the MM on another computer?
Have to agree that it might need to go back to the nearest Apple Store if you can't sort it out easily.

  • TS2662 magic mouse problems - non-battery

mouse activates on screen but will not move the cursor.
Sometimes the screen indicates it finds it and other times it doesnt.
    Ideas?

I suspect interference. Do you put your cell near the mouse and keyboard?
    Here's Apple's info on interference
