Magic mouse scrolling windows 7 fails

I have the latest MacBook air and Windows 7 loaded thru VM Fusion. Everything works great EXCEPT the Magic Mouse vertical (natural scrolling) features.
Is there a fix so my mouse driver in Windows 7 will find and support ALL the features of the magic mouse. This doesn't seem like a real technical challenge, just getting the correct driver installed.

Your issue is with Fusion if the mouse works everywhere else.  I suggest you consult the Fusion forums:  http://communities.vmware.com/community/vmtn/desktop/fusion

  • Using Magic Mouse under windows 7 (32/64)

    Hello Apple;
it is my second issue after i solved the issue of duel OS (OSX & Win7), now every thing went good under win7 except the magic mouse, so when i open the Bluetooth and search the devices the system recognize the Magic mouse, but windows takes so long time connecting to Magic mouse, and finally it is not connected.
so how to solve this problem?

bluetooth connection is incredibly unreliable/intermittent when in Windows (I run Windows 7 64-bit and Boot Camp 4.0, and got both devices connected without any trouble via Bluetooth).
    https://discussions.apple.com/thread/4079148
After much testing, I have found the cause of lagging/jumpiness on the Bluetooth Magic Mouse and Magic TrackPad in Boot Camp.
    Hopefully this will help others:
The drivers for the Broadcom 802.11n Wireless Adapter have a setting called "Bluetooth Collaboration" that is Disabled by default. Enabling this option removes the problem instantly.
My Magic Trackpad now works flawlessly, even if I stand 6 metres from the machine. It now works just as well as under Mac OS. The setting can be found under:
Control Panel > Device Manager > Network Adapters > Broadcom 802.11n Network Adapter (right click and choose "Properties".
Under the "Advanced" tab, highlight the setting named "Bluetooth Collaboration", then change it to Enable. Then click OK.
I narrowed the problem down to the wireless card by disabling ALL startup services and processes for Windows, then re-enabling one by one.
As soon as I enabled the Windows Wireless Service, the problem came back.
Similarly, disabling the Wireless Card inside the Network and Sharing Center (or Device Manager) removes the problem.
This led me to believe it must be a driver issue with the wireless card, since the problem didn't occur with the Magic TrackPad under Mac OS, or on my mother's Windows 7 64-bit computer.
So when I went into the Driver Properties to check for an update, I found this setting about Bluetooth Collaboration.
All Apple notebooks use the Broadcom card (and have done for years), so this driver is installed for almost anybody using Boot Camp on an Apple notebook. I'd assume this problem would affect anybody using Boot Camp + wifi + a Bluetooth device.

    Hi,
As mentioned in the link posted by Steve, you can check the setting of Data Execution Prevention.
And according to the following blog, some hardware features that Hyper-V does not utilize and enabling them will prevent Hyper-V from loading.  (If your BIOS doesn't have this hardware feature, then igonre this part)

  • Anyone else have a problem with Magic mouse scroll after Maverick update?

Now I have upgraded to Maverick (among other minor things) my Magic Mouse scroll often doesnt work unless I close the application it stopped working in and open it again.
Has anyone else had this issue? Is there a fix? was there any worthwhile reason to update?

This has happened to me, in fact, why I'm even searching in here...I need help too to fix it! It's so annoying!

  • Is it possible to disable the magic mouse scrolling in windows 7?

I've partitioned my hard drive with bootcamp to run windows 7 for a handful of games that aren't mac friendly. The problem is that once I installed the drivers to use the magic mouse, the scroll keeps jumping around at inconvenient times while I'm playing which makes it pretty difficult. How can I turn the scrolling off? I like having the scroll on the trackpad, but I only want the left and right click on the mouse.

I use MagicMouse on iMac with Windows 7 running (installed through BootCamp). Got sick of annoying horizontal scrolling. The solution described above has helped me to disable it. Here is what I've done in steps:
    1) go to http://www.autohotkey.com/ and download an app (a script editor).
    2) Install and run the program - please note that it will not open as it runs in the background
    3) Rightclick on the desktop -> choose "New" -> "AutoHotkey Script" (a new script file will be created on the desktop) -> name it as you wish (e.g. "Mouse_HScroll")
    4) Rightclick on the file you've just created and choose "Edit Script" from the menu.
    5) Add these three lines below existing text in the file:
    WheelLeft::return
    WheelRight::return
    #MaxHotkeysPerInterval 5000
    6) Save file
    7) Run "Convert .ahk to .exe" program from the package installed earlier and browse the file you've just created, hit ">Convert<" -> .exe file should be created. Run this file -> the scrolling should be disabled now.
    7) You may wish to move this file to Start/"Autorun" folder, so it would be launched automatically each time you reboot your Mac/PC.
    Hope this helps! Good Luck

  • Magic Mouse Scroll Fail

    Hi,
I have just bought a Magic Mouse, and am trying to install it. My MBP recognizes it, I can move the cursor and have use of the buttons, however I cant scroll. At All.
When I go into System Preferences>Mouse, I only have two sliders, Tracking Speed & Double Click Speed. When I click on 'Setup Bluetooth Mouse' it just says 'No Mouse Found' while the searching wheel continuously spins.
Im running Snow Leopard, and my previous Mighty Mouse worked fine until the scrollball called it quits, which is why i bought a new magic mouse, which doesnt scroll.....

If you are running 10.6 like your profile says, you need the Magic Mouse Software Update for Snow Leopard.
    http://support.apple.com/kb/DL950
The link above requires you to have 10.6.1 before installing the update so you might want to just move up to 10.6.2
You can update your machine to 10.6.2 and change your profile also.

  • Magic Mouse and Windows 7: Discovered but will not Connect.

Windows 7 (W7) can "Discover" the Magic Mouse (MM) but doesn't seem to be able to connect. Here is asolution.
    1. Turn Off your MM.
    2. Restart W7
    3. Connect a "Wired" USB mouse. (My Track Pad would not Right Click.)
    4. Open "Hidden Icons". (In the Right lower corner of your dispaly, in the "Tray" is a small "Triangle" icon. Mouse over this and you will see that this is the "Show Hidden Icons" icon. Click on it.)
    5. You should now see a Bluetooth icon. This is the "Bluetooth Devices" icon. Click on it.
    6. A Pop Up Menu appears. Click on "Add a device."
    7. Turn on your MM.
    8. Your MM should appear in the "Select a device to add to this computer." window.
    9. It will probably just say "Mouse" or "Bluetooth Mouse" If you have used your MM before on your Mac, it may display your Mac's "Short User Name". This means that W7 has "Discovered" your MM.
    10. Right Click on your displayed device.
    11. Click on "Add device..."
    12. Click on "Properties"
    13. Select/Click on the "Services" tab.
    14. Tick the "Box" for "Driver for mice, keyboard, etc. (HID)"
    15. Click "OK" and exit.
Your MM should now work! Sort of!! Left & Right Click works and Up and Down scrolling works. Right & Left scroll does not.
Also, you will note that your MM becomes "Inactive" after a few seconds of disuse. Just give it a single Left click to get it going again. I've posted a solution to this problem in another post.

Thanks! That fixed my issues with my Apple bluetooth mouse and keyboard in Win7.

  • Magic Mouse Scroll Idea for Apple

I love using the new Magic Mouse and the Scroll feature is wonderful.
Having said that, it creates havoc in Photoshop as any movement of your fingertip when a zoomed window size creates scroll bars makes the cursor jump. So when using Photoshop, I open System Prefs and turn Scrolling off. Easily accomplished, but a nuisance.
I would like to see Apple ad an option in Mouse Preferences to "Turn Off Scrolling" in Specific Applications (ala like using Spaces, Firewall, etc. where we define specific Apps)

Click here and fill out the form.

  • HOWTO: Magic Mouse in Windows XP Pro

This is easiest to do when you have another mouse already working with the system...
    1. Install your bluetooth support and service packs for XP
    2. Go to Bluetooth devices from your control panel or system tray
    3. Connect the Magic Mouse and wait until the machine settles down.
    4. Click Add..
    5. Check my device is set up and ready to be found
    6. Click Next
    7. Click the device from the list - it should appear as the address of the mouse (looks like a Mac address)
    8. Click Next
    9. Don't use a passkey
    10. Wait until the bubble appears saying to click here because a device is requesting your attention (or whatever it says)
    11. Pass key is 0000
    12. Click Next
    13. Click Finish
    14. Go back to Bluetooth devices
    15. Click on the device from the list
    16. Click Properties
    17. Give the device a reasonable name (like Magic Mouse?)
    18. Click Services tab
    19. Check drivers for keyboard, mice, etc (HID)
    20. Click Ok.
That should be it. This was not the first bluetooth device I added, so you may need additional steps to configure bluetooth to start with, but that it is out of the scope of this guide.
As you have probably read, the left and right mouse buttons work, but the touch features (such as scrolling) do not.
I suppose this should work in a VM system on OSX, if you have drivers to pass thru the machine's bluetooth functionality.
If you have followed this steps and can't get it to work, maybe Windows is too much for you and you should buy a Mac (I haven't tried it on my Air yet, but expect the process to be much easier than this.. but then again, I already love the Air touchpad, why would I spoil it with a mouse?)

If I boot directly from the BootCamp partition, MagicMouse is NOT recognized and no driver seems to be installed. If I run Win7 with VMWare Fusion from the BootCamp partition, MagicMouse runs just fine.
I have installed the BootCamp 3.1 update and a driver for the MagicMouse does not seem to have been installed. I would really like to see a standalone Windows Installer for the MagicMouse driver.
Apple's KB Article: TS3039 does not mention anything about Win7. "When using an Apple Magic Mouse with Microsoft Windows XP or Vista, vertical scrolling and two-finger swiping may not work."

  • Using Apple Magic Mouse With Windows 7 64 bit and Parallels Desktop 8 questions

I will be getting an iMac in the coming months and installing Parallels Desktop 8 and Windows 7 64 bit.
I was wondering if I would have the functions of been able to left click, right click, scroll (preferably vertically but also occasionally horizontally) with the Apple Magic Mouse when I'm running Windows 7 through Parallels Desktop 8?
I just wondered if anyone has installed Parallels Desktop 8 and Windows 7 and have you been able to do what i mentioned above and also have you come across any other issues, problems whilst using the Apple Magic Mouse on the Windows side?
If there is any problems/issues with doing the above, is there anything I will need to do to get the above functionality to work?
    Thanks in advance.

    The same with the trackpad!
Sometimes scrolling is a bit too fast, becuase Win 7 isn't made to use with the Magicmouse or trackpad.
The only thing i miss / doesn't work ist the middle mouse button!
Thanks very much for the help stz-42 its much appreciated.
Providing I can left click, right click, scroll, then that's OK for me as I will be spending the vast amount of my time on the Mac side.
Are you able to scroll both horizontally and vertically when using Parallels 8 Win 7 64 bit on your iMac?
