Magic mouse, too slow, anyway to make it faster?

im talking about the way it moves, it seems like i have to move it all the way across the table for it to the the basic thing my usual mouse does, i obviously already moved the motion in system preferences to the fastest possible, any other ideas?

Sorry for the double post but I just found a great answer. Try the application [MouseZoom|http://www.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/macosx/12205]. It works like a charm!

  • Magic Mouse too responsive

    The Magic Mouse is somewhat too response, i.e. it will activate a link, a check box, a menu item, etc. if the pointer hovers over these items, even if I don't click the left or right buttons. Is there a way to reduce the Mouse "sensitivity"?

    Is your finger hovering just above the touch surface? If so, make a conscious effort to hold it a bit higher.
    I occasionally suffer from this, and every time I notice my fingers almost touching the surface. Getting into the habit of holding them higher helps enormously...

  • Magic Mouse extremely slow on Macbook Air (late 2010)

    Hi All,
    Just switched from PC to Mac - everything is fine and i'm very excited about it.
    There's one major issue for me and that's with the Apple Magic Mouse, it feels extremely slow and sluggish - nothing like Mice i've used in Windows.
    Now, it seems that third party software fixes this (Mouse Acceleration Preferences Pane i.e.) but i don;t see why it should be prefect out of the box.
    Any ideas ?
    Thanks,

    Hi Tom,
    Thanks for your quick reply. I am not convinced it is a hardware problem. For if I hold the key that is faulty pressed for a few seconds it works, and the also works for a while before it stops working again. This to me seems like it is software based. Is there a secure way to test software vs. hardware e.g. by booting from an external image into a shell only? I do not think I have an image on a usb, is there any online server that I can connect to to try it?
    Thanks again

  • Magic Mouse too Sensitive Under Mavericks

    Sensitivity is an issue with all Apps under Mavericks.  The slightest touch is detected as a swipe or scroll.   I can't find any preference to adjust this.  Any suggestions?
    The sensitivity was fine under Mountain Lion.

    I am finding it increasingly frustrating to work in Mavericks and one of the issues is this magic mouse touch sensitivity!
    I am a graphic designer and I do a lot of layout work with the mouse. When I am fine tuning layouts and dragging and dropping in Adobe Illustrator I find a LOT of issues where things are sliding around left/right and up/down at the slightly twitch of my finger. This is not pinned to this specific application though. I find the same experience across all applications where I have to drag, drop, and place things on a screen as well as with regular scrolling where there is some "wiggle" in a window when trying to scroll up and down. For instance, on Chrome the screen regularly moves a little left to right just when my finger is sitting on the mouse not really moving. It's noticable on Chrome because it has the "bounce" effect when you scroll past the boundaries of the website you are view
    This is extremly frustrating!
    This is not related to the tracking or the scrolling speed. It is something different entirely.

  • Mini to Slow - Can I make it Faster?

    I'm new to this board and to Toshiba products.   I have a mini laptop NB 205 with windows 7 starter...  does anyone know why its so slow loading and, what I can do to make it faster?  I'm not the best with computers and still learning about them.
    Thanks
    Boni

    Streaming without buffering is dependent on your internet connection, not the amount of ram (or video ram) you have. The only thing you can change on your computer itself to help with streaming is to see if there is a lower resolution streaming option (like 480P or 360P instead of 1080P or 720P or SD instead of HD).  Otherwise you'll need to get a faster internet connection.
    To adjust the video ram you have to go into the bios. Not sure exactly where it is on your system, but there aren't that many options that you can change in the bios on those things so it should be easy to find.
    If you don't post your COMPLETE model number it's very difficult to assist you. Please try to post in complete sentences with punctuation, capitals, and correct spelling. Toshiba does NOT provide any direct support in these forums. All support is User to User in their spare time.

  • Mouse too slow

    Besides the problem I had with a internet pen, I still have (screen saver does not work when I have the mac connected to internet pen), now I have a problem with the mouse from apple, that with the speed to the maximum stills slow slow slow, besides that from time to time the cursor (mouse point) moves away from places I did not even drive. Im tired too have so many problems with the new mac i bought that is my first mac and im really sad about it.

    Sorry to hear about your problems; to start, could you please explain what this "internet pen" is? I've googled it and could not come up with anything except that it may be some software that comes with a Vodafone? If that is correct, did you check to see if the software is compatible with Mac OS? It would also help to know what it and/or its purpose is.
    As for your mouse problems (and possibly the screen saver problem), you could try the following:
    Go to Users -> Library -> Preferences and trash the following: com.apple.systempreferences.plist
    Restart computer.
    Note: If you trash this file, you will most likely have to reset any changes you've made (such as time, date, or other preference changes) in the various Preference Panes.
    And, have you repaired permissions after downloading and installing any software? (Applications -> Utilities -> Disk Utility -> highlight your hard drive and click on repair permissions)

  • TS3048 My apple magic mouse keeps slowing down.

    It's not jittery or jumpy, it's just slow.  I max out the track speed in the preferences and that works for a few minutes.  Shortly after, it slows back down.  I go into the preferences and it is still maxed.  If I turn it down, it becomes extremely slow.  I mean, I have to lift my mouse off the table and reposition it to get it to where I need to go.  Does anyone know how I can fix this?

    Hello:
    Try resetting the PRAM and SMC.

  • JDeveloper 10.1.3.1 is very slow, how to make it faster ?

    Hi all,
    I am using JDeveloper 10.1.3.1, on AMD Athlon 64 2800+, 1 GB RAM, Windows XP SP2.
    As our pages grows, now it is very slow to add new page or navigation case on the faces-config.xml.
    Yes, we can use the overview tab of the faces-config to work faster, but I see the drawing is not good if we let JDev to draw the line.
    Is there any workaround to make our JDev faster ?
    Thank you for your help,
    xtanto

    Hi Xtanto,
    What I mean is that I use multiple faces-config files. One of them is just for my manged beans that I use in a menu model for my af:Page. In that faces-config, there are no navigation cases, just managed beans. Since the faces-config diagram view shows only navigation cases, the diagram is not useful for such faces-config's (the diagram is blank). In any case, I never use the diagram view, even for my faces-config's with the navigation cases. I just find it easier to use the "overview" view, or the XML source instead.
    Hope this is clearer.

  • Why is the Magic Mouse slow and impressive on Mavericks?

    After upgrade to Mavericks, the Magic Mouse become slow and Impressive. This doens,t happened on Mountain Lion.
    I did a clean installation and the batery of Magic Mouse is full!

    Did you post from the system that has the problem? (Your "More System Details" list shows Flash 11.7 instead of 11.8 for some reason.)
    This is some standard guidance that addresses the most common issues with Flash in Firefox. I'm sure you've seen some of it before, but just in case:
    (1) Make sure all recorders/downloaders that interact with Flash media are as up-to-date as possible, or disable them.
    (2) Disable hardware graphics acceleration in Firefox and in Flash ''(I see from your post that you've done this part)''
    (A) In Firefox, un-check the box here and restart:
    orange Firefox button (or Tools menu) > Options > Advanced > General > "Use hardware acceleration when available"
    (B) In Flash, see this support article from Adobe: http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/video-playback-issues.html#main_Solve_video_playback_issues
    (3) Disable protected mode (Windows Vista/7/8)
    See this support article from Adobe under the heading "Last Resort": [http://forums.adobe.com/message/4468493#TemporaryWorkaround Adobe Forums: How do I troubleshoot Flash Player's protected mode for Firefox?]

  • Windows XP & Magic Mouse

    I have a MacBook Pro (Intel) and recently purchased a Magic Mouse. It works fine with Mac OS X (Snow Leopard), but not with Boot Camp (WinXP). The only way I can get the mouse to work under Boot Camp is, after finishing to boot in WinXP, to uninstall the Magic Mouse in the Bluetooth setup and then re-installing it. Then it will work. But it is time consuming. Also, I MUST use the passkey of "0000" (I even say "no passkey" during the setup) in order to install successful the mouse. Can anyone please help me? Thank you very much for any help I can get!

    I don't know for sure if this will apply to you, but when I couldn't get my Apple Bluetooth wireless keyboard to work in Bootcamp Windows XP, I found this solution....and it worked for the keyboard. It may work with your Magic Mouse, too (some of the "thank you" messages said it worked with their wireless mouse, too).

  • My magic mouse won't work.

    I got a low battery warning yesterday & went to change then today. Well, one of the batteries had exploded. I cleaned the area as best I could (it even ate through the cover) but the mouse won't work with the new batteries. Did the acid "kill" my mouse or is it just time to replace it? I got the Magic Mouse right after they came out.

    I already cleaned the contacts before I posted. I would think my Magic mouse would last longer than a couple years. I am going to take the remaining package of batteries back to Costco as they are supposedly good to 2016. I will take the magic mouse too so they can see the damage. Now, If I can only get my bluetooth "Mighty Mouse" to pare with my iMac I would be happy. Good thing I have my laptop!

  • Magic mouse clicking sound

    I just purchased a new iMac 5K with the Magic Mouse. Every time I click on the mouse I hear a clicking noise. How do  eliminate this? I have an older Magic Mouse and it does not make any sound when I click on it.

    It certainly is.. I notice that when clicking the left side, it has one distinct "tick" sound but the left has 2 crunchy/clucking sounds. Hard to explain but it doesn't sound right.. I just want to know from anyone else if this is the norm..
    Thx..

  • Fade in/out effect too slow

    Hi!
    I'm trying to do a fade in/out effect between two images using the following code:
    public void render(Graphics g, Image imageFrom, Image imageTo, int width, int height) {
    Image buffer=gc.createCompatibleVolatileImage(width,height);
    Graphics2D g2 = (Graphics2D)buffer.getGraphics();
    int counter=0;
    while (counter<90) {
       counter=counter+2;
       double alphaScalar = Math.sin(Math.toRadians(counter));
       g2.setComposite(AlphaComposite.SrcOver);
       g2.drawImage(imageFrom, 0, 0, null);
       g2.setComposite(AlphaComposite.getInstance(AlphaComposite.SRC_OVER, (float)alphaScalar));
       g2.drawImage(imageTo, 0, 0, null);
       g.drawImage(buffer, 0, 0, null);
      try {
       Thread.sleep(1);
      catch(InterruptedException ex){}
    g.dispose();
    g2.dispose();
    buffer.flush();
    }The problem is that it's too slow and jerky, even in fast computers. I need a smoother transition. Can someone help me, please ?
    Before you ask me, I've put a "Thread.sleep(1)" line to allow another thread playing a background music to breath.
    Thanks in advance

  • HT1846 I have a windows 7, and i'm trying to make my Mac's Magic Mouse work on my PC... do i need to download this BootCamp? or should i install a driver especially made for Windows 7?

    Is there any way that i can have my Magic Mouse to run on my PC (Windows 7)?
    i am looking for drivers online, but i don't want to install something that Apple may not approve of. I'm sure if there were such a driver, then Apple would have provided it; unless i have missed something.

    when one makes the bootcamp driver disc in bootcamp on osx it builds a cd with apple tested drivers for the hardware for windows
