Magic mouse - windows 7 - one click is required

i have to click my magic mouse one time to make it working in windows 7 os.. is there any idea to eliminate this problem ?

It is not a 'problem' the Mouse 'sleeps' when you are not using it, the click wakes it up, otherwise the battery would go flat while you are not using it.

  • The batteries on my Magic Mouse are lasting one week

The batteries on my Magic Mouse are lasting one week. Please help.

How old is the Mouse.  When did you last change the batteries.  Are they rechargeable or regular.
Here are some notes I have made about batteries.
Batteries.  Here are a few notes I've put together.    Whether you use regular or rechargeable batteries you should buy the best. Discounted or unbranded batteries are more likely to give a depleted performance and may be of irregular size, often leading to connection problems.  Apple’s own brand, Eneloop and Energiser appear to be the best.
Rechargeable batteries for the standard Magic mouse are unlikely to exceed eighteen days before needing a recharge although the mouse itself can be a limiting factor.  I have seen reports that some Logitech mice vastly exceed this.    Apple may suggest more in their sales blurb but this is a realistic expectation.  The benefit (if you are organised) is that you can always have charged batteries available.  Regular batteries will give you between 25 and 35 days before they need to be replaced.
Note.  Never mix old and new batteries or rechargeable and regular.  The notes above are based on my personal experience, not shutting down my machine and using it for around four hours per day.  Note.  Monitors do not always faithfully report battery strength, particularly the rechargeable ones.
When checking your mouse or keyboard batteries ... Turn off the device. Remove the batteries, Clean the terminals both inside the battery compartment and the batteries themselves. Replace or renew both batteries. Turn on the device.  You should get a blinking green light if the device is paired. Click the mouse to activate it.  The green light becomes steady.

  • Magic mouse - Windows middle click?

Yet another topic on so called magic mouse, which seems not so magic now. Though I'd still love to buy it!
Anyway, I've been looking into it for days, and once MagicPrefs became available middle click issue for OS X was solved. However, both my work and studies require frequent use of Windows CAD applications (hope remains it will feature Mac versions one day), where navigating with middle button is essential.
I've tried to look through discussion boards, but didn't find anything similar to this. Thanks in advance!

<rant> This is a big deal, but not really being taken seriously. Apple hasn't even bothered to work it out in their own OS yet. Thanks @vladalexa [MagicPrefs], a developer from Romania, for the final decision on the 70$ purchase )@steve(. Otherwise, the native software cannibalizes too much of the hardware's built-in functionality to justify the investment. Virtual machines would solve this issue, but I just don't have the free hardware resources to accommodate the kind of software I run. </rant>
i don't care how )magicprefs for windows / other manufacturer's driver / whatever works!(, there needs to be support for middle click in windows )native, not virtual(. it's like have a scroll wheel that doesn't work on a 70$ mouse...
    fingers crossed

  • Magic Mouse connectivity and now clicking issue

Had my Magic Mouse for a few years now and it worked perfectly well up until about 12 months ago. It suddenly started to lose connection at random intervals (no it's not the batteries or the terminals) that annoyed me but I got on with it. Now though it seems to of seized up! It was jumping all over the place, selecting things I hadn't clicked and then seemed as if the right click was permanatly engaged. Now it's just not clicking at all which presents a problem in that I can't wen access the settings tab to try and fix it!! Tried taking the batteries out, no change. Restarted the computer manually, no change, changed the batteries even though they were reading 100%... No change. I'm a student again now, I can't afford £60 for a new mouse, especially after reading the thousands of threads about how bad they are!

    "Few years"
What makes you think that a mouse ( or anything else) lasts forever?
"Thousands of threads?"  That us quite an exaggeration and clearly not accurate.
    Buy a new one.

  • Magic Mouse Primary and Secondary Clicks Switched

Recently I picked up a Magic Mouse and have since found some very strange things that I don't know how to fix:
The primary and secondary clicks are switched. As in, under mouse settings when I select the secondary click to be on the right, only the primary click works on the right side and everything else is a secondary click. It is also very annoying because every time I have more than one finger touching the surface it counts as a secondary click. If anyone knows how to fix this I would really appreciate feedback.
I looked around in settings and couldn't find anything regarding this matter. I fiddled with some stuff but never got it working properly.
    Feedback much appreciated!

Looking at another thread in this forum, I see some people who had older apple mice installed before the magic mouse are having this problem with the magic mouse.
I had an older wireless mouse that would take right-clicks before I set up the magic mouse. Unfortunately when I connect the older wireless mouse I can no longer access it's preferences. It only gives me the preferences a generic one button mouse. Somewhere there must be some set of files I can delete and it will forget this old mouse.
I am pretty disheartened after a week of this. One of the benefits to a mac is that I shouldn't have to dig around removing drivers and such

  • Magic Mouse, Windows 7, World of Warcraft

I using Apple Magic Mouse on Windows 7. But I found there are some problems when I use this mouse play WOW.
1). Some time right click will stop auto-run.
2). When I didn't use mouse few second. The mouse will "sleep" for save power I think. I have to click mouse to wake it up. But it will make mistake sometimes. I have disable power management for Bluetooth Radio. But seems it still not work.
    Anyone have the same problem?

    Hello mjy78,
    Just an FYI for you.
It is always best to check with the software manufacturer FIRST. They will tell you if they have tested the product and the version, as well as whether or not it will work with Windows 7.
Check out the Windows 7 Compatibility site: (There you will find out about hardware and software compatibility.)
    http://www.microsoft.com/windows/compatibility/en-us/default.aspx
There is a pulldown from which you can choose "hardware" and "software".
There are also some great articles, instructional videos and such to help with your Windows 7 at our Springboard site:
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/default.aspx
In any event a lot of the times, Vista drivers will work in lieu of Windows 7 drivers, however, it's not 100%!
As stated previously, it's best to have the Windows 7 certified drivers installed.
    Thanks again,
    John M.

  • Magic mouse windows 7

I have a magic mouse and it works but everytime i restart my pc i need to remove my magic mouse in the devices and then reconnect it is there any way this can work just normal with bootcamps and stuff
    Thanks
    Rick

I realise this is an old post, pity no one answered it earlier, but I use VMWare 3 and Win 7 on my MacBook Pro. The Magic Mouse works just fine for l.mouse, r.mouse and scroll in VMWare/Win7 (also bootcamp - but I've given up on bootcamp and am just sticking with VMWare), but the gestures, (two finger swipes for back and forward) don't work. Also for some reason when you try to use CTRL+Left click to select multiple items (eg, multiple cell ranges in Excel) doesn't work, however, this can be often overcome by using command (the apple key)+Left click. In Excel however, Command+LeftClick works like CTRL+Middle click rather than CTRL+LeftClick. I'm about to post a request to see if anyone has solved this problem.

  • HT1338 My new magic mouse will not one finger scroll left and right

I am up to date with software but after connecting my new magic mouse it will not one finger scroll left and right. It does scroll up and down. Any ideas on what may be wrong??

I don't have a Magic Mouse, but there is probably a setting that enables and disables horizontal scrolling.  Look on System Preferences Mouse pane.

  • Replacing magic mouse with new one

I dropped my old magic mouse and broke it. Bought a new one. I have deleted everything i can find but my system wants to connect to the old one and will not discover the new one. How...?

Finder Go menu -> Go to Folder... "/Library/Preferences", then remove "com.apple.Bluetooth.plist", then reboot could solve the problem.

  • Magic Mouse won't right click on files, but works fine otherwise. 10.6.8

My Magic mouse just suddenly seemd to stop right clicking on files. I can right click on blank sapces in finder or on the desktop and it gives me the usual drop down menu but as soon as I try and right click or ctrl+click on a file there's just nothing. Can't seem to find any similar problems on google. Any ideas?

Hi, yes. The right click would work at start-up until I click on 'always allow' for permissions for google drive, then it dissappears
Unfortunately I found no other workaround other than to switch to the other views (although I strongly dislike working in the other views). But I just use Drive in my internet browser when I do use it, so it's okay for me to uninstall it. Maybe it's something to contact google about so they can fix it on there side.

  • My Magic Mouse won't double click

I cannot double click with my new magic mouse (or older wired logitech mouse) to open anything, whether it be in finder, the desktop, iTunes etc...
I'm sure that it isn't the fault of the iMac as there has been no update or change of settings.

    Hello:
    No apology necessary

You reset it like this: http://support.apple.com/kb/PH11243
A reset sometimes helps and it cannot hurt anything.

  • Magic mouse shows script when click

Please bear with me as a completely non-tech but long time Mac user whilst I try to explain what has happened.I use a Home Accountz application which wasn't working well and so I decided to import it from my external HD(FreeAgent  backup drive).I used SuperDuper to copy all the files( including Home Accountz )on my external drive to my iMac internal HD.
Since then everything has changed  on my internal HD-so for example I can't drag windows, swipe with my mouse, when I click on any window a small script window with various options shows.I can't type in  a Firefox search window, the green button won't close a window with a click and so on.
I apologize for not making this clear -but all I can say is nothing works as before EXCEPT on the external HD where everything is working perfectly.
If anyone can guide me as to how to restore my internal HD software to work as it did, I would be very grateful.
And,again-sorry for this very non-tech description of my problem.

OS X Version 10.8.5 ,3.06 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo

That might be what is happening as again yesterday I went to move to spot light and up came the desk top.
This was the FIRST time that I was able to get back to my programs by doing the opposite.
Just now it happened again, but this time, I held the mouse firmly. Then it hit me - Hot Corners.
I have had hot corners set for years, but this is the first time I have activated it by mistake. Checked the control panel and sure enough, the upper right is set for desktop.
What I find interesting is that with the "Start screen saver" hot corner, you must keep the pointer up there for it to start, not like the others where you touch it and it does the action.
You will get the solved since your suggestion helped me find the true cause.
    Thanks

  • Pairing Apple Bluetooth Keyboard and Magic Mouse Windows 7 64-bit

    Evening Apple Forum!
I'm camping with a problem regarding the pairing of my two bluetooth devices: the bluetooth keyboard by Apple and the Magic Mouse in Windows.
    I'm running Windows 7 64-bit through Boot Camp 3.1.
I have tried pairing them as I normally would, turn on the device and then let the MacBook search for bluetooth devices. This, however, didn't work out for both the keyboard and the mouse.
After some searching in several forums, I wondered if I had to update the driver operating Bluetooth in general. I came to the conclusion this wasn't needed after checking the 'Device Manager' in Windows. The Device Manager displayed under 'Bluetooth Radios' two drivers:
    - Apple Broadcom Built-in Bluetooth
    - Microsoft Bluetooth Enumerator
    This seemed fine.
After this, I read through a .pdf file regarding Boot Camp directly from Apple, which pointed me towards another method of pairing the bluetooth devices: the devices had to be turned off before or while the MacBook was searching and turned on again after that. Sadly this didn't do anything either.
I'm clueless, I have no idea whatsoever how to get this to work. This support forum is always a last resort for me because usually I can deal with a problem myself by basic knowledge or reading some forums. This isn't the case this time.
If anyone has an idea of how to pair these devices to my MacBook, feel free to reply.
    Thanks!

I've found the solution here on the forum:
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=11491400&#11207285
All I did was unpair my mouse on Mac and then pair the mouse on Windows 7 and finally re-pair the mouse on Mac. It worked perfectly. It seems that Windows 7 likes exclusivity.

  • Magic Mouse Windows 7 Bootcamp 3.1

Can someone confirm whether or not the new Bootcamp Magicmouse drivers for Windows enable all the finger swiping features of the mouse? If not, exactly what is enabled?
    Thanks in advance

I have the same issue. My MM works for a while until the comp goes into sleep or gets restarted.
Have you unchecked the box in Device Manager/Bluetooth/Apple Bluetooth/Properties/Power Management, where it says "allow computer to turn off this device to save power" ?
If you leave it checked (default) Bluetooth will turn off after a few minutes.
Re-reading your post I see yours doesn't work after a restart so may not be this problem. For some reason my bluetooth mighty mouse always needs a single left click after a restart, then it is instantly fine. If you try and move the mouse before clicking it won't move and looks like its not connected.

  • Resizing split windows using ONE click and drag

Say I have two windows split vertically.
Now in order to make one window smaller and the other larger it would be really cool to be able to drag the middle line to the right or the left.
Currently, if you want to e.g. make the left window thinner and the right window larger, you have to:
    - first drag the right border of the left window to the left
    - then drag the left border of the right window to the left too, up to the right border of the left window.
    That is annoying.
