Magic Packet - How to get my router to send one

I have the Quantum Gateway 1100 router.  I have a NAS Server on my home network.  The NAS server has the capability to Wake on LAN if the router can send that packet.  Can anyone tell me how to get the router to send the Wake-on-Lan packet to the server.  FIOS Tech Support is completely and totally useless.

Hi,
You can do a fresh installation using the installer bits available at the following link/location Download CS5.5 products
For suites, you need to download and copy both .7z and .exe in the same folder. Clicking .exe will extract all relevant installer files. You can then install the suite. Use your existing Serial number when prompted.

    Routers: Any configurable device that sits between your computer and the internet link you have. This includes Modems that Route as well as "routers"
    Routers seem to fall into two categories
    Those that work straight from the box. See Apple Article HT1787

    Even then some list that they need tweaks.
    and those that do not.
    This post will deal with what you may need to look at.
    First off make sure your device is acting as a DHCP server. (if you are already on the internet you may not have to bother with this.)
    Check in the Tiger System Preferences > Network Preference Pane, in the "Built in Ethernet" option from the "Show" drop down list.
    In Leopard the Networks are listed on the left with icons. The Airport Option will need you to access the Advance Button for the Next bit.
    Make sure the TCP/IP tab is the 'front' one. You should be able to see Configure IPv4 and it most likely reads Using DCHP. Make a note of your IP address. It will start 10.xxx.xxx.xxx or 192.168.xxx.xxx (the 'x' s will stand for any number between 1 and 255). The range 172.16.xxx.xxx is also a possible value at this point. Rarely used, but it is part of the RFC for Address Allocation for Private Internets.
    Your router is most likely to be configurable from your browser. You will need to find the IP address to type into the browser from any Readme or PDF files that came on the install disk or visit the makers website and download a manual.
    The Port Forward.com site lists many devices and clicking on one will take you to a list of Applications. This iChat will open an page that will start by telling you the defaults to access the device
    Opening or Allowing ports. Several Methods not all devices have all of them.
    DMZ (Demilitarised Zone)
    This is a less secure setting that basically opens all ports and points the incoming data to your computer. (not helpful if you have more than one computer on your LAN). It can be considered as an extreme form of Port Forwarding
    Port Forwarding (also Virtual Server or Pin Holes)
    These settings are usually found in an Advanced setting.
    You may need to set an incoming IP address (Usually 0.0.0.0 to any outside server), a port that data will arrive on, the Inside computer's IP address (your computer) and the port it will deal with the data on and the protocol it will use.
    See this pic for an example of the description above.
    In this example shows that on some Port AND Protocols need to be listed.
    iChat uses TCP and UDP so some devices will need the ports listed one by one and some settings done twice, once for each protocol. The example above has a "Both" setting
    See Apple Article HT1507 Previously Doc 93208 for more information. This is the Tiger iChat 3 list. The same ports are needed for Leopard except for these changes
    My Note 2:
    On the first link Note 1 under tables in that link would be better if it read:
    " 1. All iChat AV traffic is UDP -
    except for ports 5190 and 5298, which need to be open for both TCP as well;
    and 5220, 5222, which need to be open for TCP only. "
    Note 2
    GoggleTalk needs port 5223 on TCP. Also note the Server name for iChat 3 set ups
    UPnP Universal Plug n Play.
    This is a simple Plug and Play type of setting. iChat can find it's own way through a router if the device has this capability.
    By Not doing Port Forwarding, Triggering or DMZ and enabling UPnP the application is allowed to control the modem and the ports that are open.
    They close after the application has finished with them on a timed basis.
    On some devices the number of "hops" (how far away the UPnP can be "seen") can be reduced from a default of 4)
    Trigger Ports
    Some devices offer a security measure that works by a first or trigger port receiving a data packet and then opening further ports when accepted.
    The first port for incoming Video or Audio invites is port 5678.
    Pre iChat 4
    When you click on the invite window the process moves in to port 5060 (so these will need to be opened by the trigger port) for negotiating the final group of ports from the group of 20 (16384-16403 These will need to open when the trigger says so as well). Therefore port 5678 triggers ports 5678, 5060, 16384-16403. All on UDP. Port 5190 neeeds to trigger port 5190 for both TCP and UDP.
    See this variation where only the ports listed above are completed.
    The other single ports need to be set one by one in addition. (5220,5222, 5223 5297, 5298, 5353)Replace
    iChat 4
    The port used in IChat 4 is port 16402 instead of port 5060. The group of 20 ports is reduced to 10 (16393-16402). This is because all the In and Out Audio and Video data is on one port. Other that than the settings are the same.
    At this time there is no Info on the ports the Screen Sharing in iChat 4 uses.
    Wireless
    Here you will have to read around but this Apple Article TA25949 Previously Doc 58514 might be a good starting place.
    Essentially whether you are wireless or Ethernet to your routing device makes very little difference to the way you do things.
    Your computer will get two IPs from a DHCP server if you are connected by both methods. (iChat does not like this)
    Multiple devices
    Make sure only one is acting as a DHCP server. Make sure wireless devices are bridged properly.

  • How to get all the values in one column of a JTable

    How to get all the values in one column of a JTable as a Collection of String.
    I don;t want to write a for loop to say getValueAt(row, 1) eg for 2nd column.

    I don;t want to write a for loop to say getValueAt(row, 1) eg for 2nd column. You could always write a custom TableModel that stores the data in the format you want it. It would probably be about 50 lines of code. Or you could write a loop in 3 lines of code. I'll let you decide which approach you want to take.

  • How to get a routing consistent to the Database

    Hi ABAP,
    my task is to program a RFC-function which can generate routings, copy routings, read routings, and modify routings (with Headdata, Operations, Materialtaskallocation).
    I can use BAPI_ROUTING_CREATE to generate a routing, and to copy a routing.
    Reading a routing is quite easy with normal selects.
    Means i already have accomplished these tasks.
    BUT now i have to modify the routing. The modification itself again is quite easy and doesnt make much problems. The Problem is: How to get the modified routing to the Database in a consistent state? Does anyone of you know of any BAPI´s/Functions/anything which can do that for me?
    Or if not does at least anyone know how the data-model of a routing is?
    If i had a data_model i could do the konsistency checks myself, but since i have no model i dont know what to check against.
    anyway guys thanks for listening.

    Hi Florian  ,
    SAP will track changes happend on some Objects.So u have to find out object class for ROUTING then u can get the data from CDHDR/CDPOS.

  • How to get a value for Select One Choice in the backing bean

  • How to get server certificate before sending off confidential content?

    If my mail client knows for example the SHA1 value of TLS/SSL enabled receiving MTA's certificate, subversion of DNS and Root-CAs could be prevented if after establishing the connection, the com.sun.mail.smtp.SMTPTransport.serverSocket were accessible to retrieve that certificate:
    X509Certificate[] certs = null;
    if (serverSocket instanceof SSLSocket) {
    SSLSocket ssl = (SSLSocket) serverSocket;
    certs = ssl.getSession().getPeerCertificateChain();
    byte[] sha1 = MessageDigest.getInstance("SHA1").digest(
    certs[0].getEncoded());
    //TODO now validate with the sha1 you already know
    Unfortunately com.sun.mail.smtp.SMTPTransport (let alone javax.mail.Transport) have a public getServerSocket() or even better a getX509ServerCertificates() method.
    Any other ideas how to get at those certificates short of using gnu classpathx?
    See also http://forum.java.sun.com/thread.jspa?threadID=615422

    I found the solution for server side. We will use Handler. And base on technology to generate web service's stuff (my server using axis, but my client using jaxWS), we have different ways to implement and deploy Handler. My purpose is only write input/output xml message to log, so with my server, I only adjust server-config.wsdd as bellow:
    <deployment
    xmlns="http://xml.apache.org/axis/wsdd/"
    xmlns:java="http://xml.apache.org/axis/wsdd/providers/java">
    <handler name="log" type="java:org.apache.axis.handlers.LogHandler"/>
    <globalConfiguration>
    <requestFlow>
    <handler type="log"/>
    </requestFlow>
    <responseFlow>
    <handler type="log"/>
    </responseFlow>
    </globalConfiguration>
    <transport
    name="http" pivot="java:org.apache.axis.transport.http.HTTPSender"/>
    </deployment>
    But now I still can not control directory and log file name yet (now it's axis.log by default).

  • How to get rendered JSF page (send it as HTML email)

    Hello,
    I would like to send notification email in my application. Could you please help me to find a way how to get HTML result of JSF page as string-file-stream. Simply anything I could handle and use it as email body or attachment.
    My use case: User click to button (raise a action) which change something in DB and confirmation.xhtml(.jsf) is shown to him to confirm that this action was succesful. And I would like to send notification email to all other users with this page (simplified version).
    I need a something like String getJsfPage(String url) but I could not find anything in JSF API.
    Thanks for any clue.

    quote gimbal2: +...now write the code to generate the email body...+
    Thanks for reply...
    Is that mean that I could not use already written code (confirmation.xhtml)? The beuty on JSF is that JSF parser take care about CSS styles, EL, templating (ui: ...), ... When anybody (administrators) wants to change how this email looks - just change this XHTML file.
    How should I write email body? I thought about several way but nothing what looks good:
    - I really dont want to use StringBuilder do build HTML.
    - I dont want to write my own parser of .xhtml template (confirmation.xhtml).
    - Write HTML (xml) template and parse it with XSLT transformation seems to me acceptable but complicated. Needs a special library to perform XSLT, complicated template service (future changes)
    - JSP page, more-or-less the same problems like JSF page
    The sad is that this email (html) body is quite small but highly dynamic (css, language of texts, logos...).

  • How to get video of more than one security camera in java

    I want to get video from more than one security cameras and i really donot know yet how we do this that get videos continously with more than one camera
    olz i a beginner help me

    Hello.
    I don't know if the topic still matters, but as I took advantage from the information in the preview posts, I decided to give my share.
    I successfully ran three webcameras at the same time in a Linux machine with JMF.
    The two main issues are:
    1. It is necessary to run the binary "jmfregistry" ($JMFHOME/bin/jmfregistry) to detect the cameras every time a new one is added to the system. (Remember to run the binary with a user with write privileges on the registry file ($JMFHOME/lig/jmf.properties)).
    2. It is mandatory to plug each camera in a different usb bus. In my case, the PC I was using had three accessible two-ports buses, two in the rear and one in the front of the box. If we try to use two cameras in the same bus, one of them won't work or the detecting procedure in the "jmfregistry" program will hang.
    I hope it helps. Any question, please feel free to ask.

  • How to get 2 columns data in One Column

    Hi,
    That's called Unpivoting.
    In Oracle 11.1 (and higher) you can use the SELECT  ... UNPIVOT feature. For details and examples, see the SQL Language manual: http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E11882_01/server.112/e26088/statements_10002.htm#sthref6810
    In any version of Oracle, you can cross-join your table to any table or result set that has at least 2 rows, and use CASE (or DECODE) to get the results you want.
    Remember that a column can only have 1 datatype: it's impossible to have a column that's a VARCHAR2 on some rows, but a NUMBER on other rows.  You'll have to convert some data so that everything in the 1 output column has the same datatype.  There's no way to express 'Smith' as a NUMBER, but you can convert all the NUMBERs to strings.
    I hope this answers your question.
    If not, post  a little sample data (CREATE TABLE and INSERT statements), and also post the results you want from that data (if not what you posted already).
    Post your best attempt at a query.  Point out where it is getting the wrong results, and explain, using specific examples, how you get those results from the given data in those places.
    Always say which version of Oracle you're using (e.g., 11.2.0.2.0).

  • How do I make my waveform send one point per iteration in a loop?

    Hello,
    I am trying to create a demonstration/lab for a future course at my university.  I am trying to send data from a wind turbine to a third party DAC in order to run a motor.  I have found out that when I send a wave form to the DAC I must send one point per iteration if I use the arbitrary signal generator.  I would like to be able to send a file to the DAC without manually loading it as the arbitrary signal generator does.  I was wondering how to send the data using one point per iteration using the build waveform or other waveform function that can have the waveform built from a file that is added on the front panel.  I am using labview 8.0.
    Thanks,
    Laura

    Maybe I am asking the wrong question.  Maybe I should be asking why it is that when I send a waveform to the the DAC (using active x controls) the signal that is sent to the DAC is just the final value.  I probed the wire connected to the data input of the DAOUTPUT node and it shows the entire waveform graph and not just the last value.
    Thanks,
    Laura
