Magic trackpad bluetooth Connected / Connection Lost

Hi there,
I have a Mac Pro 2010 (Not macbook pro). I use a magic trackpad alongside a wacom intuos.
My trackpad has been displaying connected / connection lost for quite some time now and its rather annoying.
This doesn't happen after sleep, not does it take 60s to kick in (like some reports I've seen). It starts immediately and continues forever.
I check back on these forums periodically to see if anyone has had my exact problem and no dice.
Here is what I have tried:
• Reboot
• Reset PRAM
• Reset SMC by disconnecting power cable from tower
• Replacing batteries, changing battery brand
• Checking connectors for signs of corrosion on batteries and in the trackpad. (they're clean)
• Running trackpad a friend's macbook air (it worked and maintained connection)
• Running on another laptop on the same desk as the Mac Pro (maintained connection – ruled out local interference)
It seems to have been since Yosemite, but not instantaneously. I am loath to reinstall the OS and quite frankly have seen that this has not been a step towards fixing it for anyone!
Any new fixes anyone has, I'd love to hear them! Also my trackpad is personalised. Can i reset it? Perhaps that would fix it!
Thanks

To uninstall Chrome was no problem because if you reinstall it you lose nothing, unlike with some apps.
But this link with Yosemite seems to go on and on and no-one has come up with an answer.  I don't think Bluetooth is the fault but it may be connected (forgive the pun) to a service or app you have.  As I said, I have neither Yosemite or Chrome so I can only offer educated guesswork rather than practical help.
This would not be a solution but if you could download and apply Etrecheck, it may show something in your system.  This link should take you there.   Then copy / paste it here in this thread.

  • Magic Mouse: Bluetooth Connection Lost

Periodically (and extremely frustrating) my iMac screen will announce "Bluetooth connection lost".
There seems to be no logical explanation. But...
This leaves me with a totally functionless Magic Mouse.
Is there a way of re-establishing Magic Mouse/Bluetooth without going through the hassle of connecting a USB mouse to reach System Preferences?

I'm starting to have problems with the Bluetooth not recognizing the Magic Mouse even though 1) it's discoverable and 2) I favorited it. Does this have anything to do with the new Magic Prefs app?
One other thing that could make a major difference is that I downloaded USB Overdrive in order to use a Logitech joystick. It really should have no bearing on something that is not a USB device, though that preference panel does recognize the Magic Mouse...in spirit if not in function. I cannot scroll with it or use the touch-specific functions of that device. If Bluetooth cannot read it, what good is it anyway?

  • Bluetooth connection lost during sleep

Intel iMac frequently loses its bluetooth connection with a magic mouse during sleep and doesn't re-connect upon waking up.  A restart is used to re-establish the bluetooth connection. The iMac is a late 2012 model (2.7 GHz Intel Core i5, 21.5 inch screen).

as a workaround then I suspect that turning off the mouse and back on again will make it work
windows 8.1 have the same issue with my razor mouse not with my magic trackpad though
I disconnect the razor mouse and reconnect and all is good quicker then reboot

  • Magic TrackPad wont connect in bootcamp 4. Windows asks for a pairing pin

I am running bootcamp 4 and using a 32 bit version of Windows 7. Every time I try to connect the Magic Trackpad it loads the the drivers but when I go to use the pad it says a bluetooth device is trying to connect and asks for a pairing pin. Is there an updated driver for BootCamp 4?. Magic Trackpad connected and worked flawlessly (as usual) in Mac OS X Maverick.

UPDATE: I installed Vista on Bootcamp and tried the Magic TrackPad driver. It has the same problem. I can get the device to work as advertised on the initial install and reboots in the same OS. But when you switch from Windows to Mac OS X (or vice-versa) the device will not work: in Windows is listed as paired and connected, but does not work. In Mac OS X, it will not connect automatically and does not work. If you manually try to connect the Bluetooth icon briefly shows connected and then disconnects.
I sent a bug report to Apple as a "developer" and they state that it is a known issue. I guess we simply wait for them to get around fixing the drivers at some point in the distant future. Clearly they ignore these forums altogether. The experience has left me disappointed with Apple and their slow and inadequate response to problems. I would rather they devote some resources to getting their existing products to work instead of wasting resources to add iPhone-style displays to Mac OS X. If I wanted buggy drivers and no support I should have just stayed with Windows.

  • IMac freezes during sleep bluetooth connection lost

I have a 27" iMac and when the screen goes to sleep I lose my bluetooth connection and must restart the iMac using a wired mouse or the power button.
I have a wireless Apple keyboard, magic mouse and magic trackpad.  The screensaver is off, energy saver set to leave the hard drive running, and simply darken the screen after 15 minutes.
Every morning all my bluetooth devices are nonresponsive.  Fortunately I have an old Apple USB mouse which allows me to restart.
I've tried deleting user preferences for com.apple.bluetooth.plist.
Should I just do an archive and install?
    Thanks,

  • Bluetooth Connection lost after a few seconds - EV...

    Hey,
I have an new Nokua Lumia 920. I want to connect my Lumia via Bluetooth to my laptop and in the university I treif to connect it to another laptop, as well as to my old XDA Touch Diamon!
The problem: I can find all bluetooth devices and can also connect to them, BUT every connection is lost after about 5 seconds. This cannot be! Here are my firmware versions - are there issues?
    OS-version: 8.0.10211.204
    firmware-revision-version: 1232.5957.1308.0007
    hardware-revision-version: 1.0.0.0
    radio-software-version: 1.0.202093.3
    chip-SOC-Version: 8960
I am located in germany. Anyone has a hint or solution - phone nearly useless to me without bluetooth.
    Best regards

You do not have to be bluetooth connected to transfer files to and from the phone.
Initiate the trandfer and it will happen. If they have been paired before, no passcode will be required.
Theey won't keep a BT connection because none of the profiles the phone has requires one.

  • Bluetooth connection lost after wakeup ( CSR - bc4 )

    hi
after wakeup, my aluminium keyboard cannot connect anymore to my macbook pro. when i go to systempreferences/bluetooth i can see the bluetooth's host name is CSR - bc4 (???). when i turn bluetooth off and on again the hostname does set correctly to the name of my macbook-pro. after the restart of the bluetooth-service my keyboard works like a charm.
    any suggestions?
    greetings from switzerland

I am having the same problem.
If I use the new aluminium wireless keyboard (with my existing wireless mighty mouse) neither the mouse nor the keyboard reconnect to the computer on waking from sleep - it does announce that I have lost the bluetooth connection but tapping/clicking/waiting doesn't facilitate reconnection.
If I send the iMac to sleep again (using the power button - the only way I have to get any signal to my machine at this point - I haven't tried Morse Code yet) it does then recognise the peripherals on waking the second time.
I have also noticed that if I turn the mouse and keyboard off causing the "connection lost" warning and then put the machine to sleep, everything does reconnect on waking (switching them back on of course).
I have it set not to wake from sleep using bluetooth devices, so that I can tidy my mouse/keyboard away without disturbing the mac. Using my old white wireless keyboard (but the same Mighty Mouse) it works beautifully again as it always did in Tiger with only a minimal delay on waking from sleep before reconnecting automatically.
The aluminium keyboard is beautiful. But we need a fix - anyone? Is it a hardware problem? A set of dud keyboards? Has anyone found that a different aluminium wireless keyboard does work with the same setup? Or that their troublemaking keyboard does work on other machines?

  • Bluetooth Connectivity Lost

A few days ago, my Plantronics 520 bluetooth headset stoppoed working despite the fact that I got the "Bluetooth ribbon" icon on my 8310 indicating that I was paired and connected.  I deleted the device and re-paired it and the same thing occurred.  To try and figure out if the issue was with the bluetooth headset or the 8310, I paired a Motorola H15 bluetooth headset and the same problem occured. It seems to me that the problem is with the 8310.
Also a right before this occured, my son paired the 8310 with a bluetooth system in my car.  I did not like the way it sounded so I deleted the car bluetooth system.
Anyone have any suggestions on what I might do to the 8310 to get bluetooth operating or what the problem might be?
    david

I was going to delete the message because I simply turned the 8310 off, took out the battery, let the phone sit for a few seconds and then started the phone up again and my bluetooth connectivity worked properly. Dont know what the problem was but the issue is resolved.

  • Nokia 1020 Bluetooth connectivity lost

For the second time, my 1020 suddenly for no apparent reason looses it's bluetooth connectivity. I'm listening to some music when it starts breaking up. Then I lose the connection altogether and cannot reconect. Have restarted and hard booted but to no avail. Will try factory reboot if I get desperate but it's a hassle. Anyone else have similar problems?

    Hi, grahammeltzer.
Welcome to the Nokia Support Discussions!
To which accessory is your phone connected to? Note that compatibility with 3rd party devices (for example, accessories) depends on Bluetooth standards and applications related by it's manufacturer.
Here are basic fixes that you can try on your phone:
    1. Make sure that your phone is not in Battery Saver or Flight mode.
    2. Make sure that the pairing devices are set to be visible to one another, and that there are no obstructions blocking the space between the devices.
    3. If you cannot establish a connection or lose it soon after pairing, make sure that your phonebook contacts do not have special characters or blanks before the name; rename or remove them if they do.
    4. If the above steps do not help, start the pairing process from the beginning:
Clear the paired devices list on your phone's Bluetooth settings and restart your phone.
Reset the pairing Bluetooth device to clear information about the last Bluetooth devices.
Go through the pairing process. Refer to the pairing device's user manual to find reset and pairing instructions.
The Bluetooth symbol should appear on your phone screen.
Just let us know if provided workarounds did not work. All the best!

  • Desktop 6.0 Bluetooth Connectivity lost

After recently updating to Desktop 6.0 my software will no longer allow Bluetooth connectivity (which I had with the previous version)
    Suggestions?
    Solved!

    Hi,
I have the same problem with my Lenovo T61. Everything was fine in v5.0.1.
I've tried everything I can think of from diagnostics to disable bluetooth, reboot, renable and check DM6, reboot and checkl DB6 but nothing.
No choice now but to rollback and hope for the best.

  • Magic Mouse Bluetooth Connection - WiFi Interference

I have a macbook and recently purchased a magic mouse.  It constantly connects and disconnects.  I replaced the batteries, re-paired th BT connection, no luck.  I spent an hour on the phone with apple support and we tried everything they had in their database, no success.  I then took it to the genius bar at the local store with the same result.  Apple replaced the mouse with a new one, having the same problem.  The mouse only has issues in my apartment.  When I go to the conference room on the 1st floor, the mouse works fine.  I suspect my time capsule wifi 2.4ghz is causing interference with the bluetooth.  I tried to disable the 2.4ghz wifi and only use 5ghz, but I can't find a way to do it.
If anyone has any ideas, I would be grateful.

  • Magic Mouse Bluetooth connection problems with Mac OS X Lion

I've a problem with my Magic Mouse on  bluetooth since I've updated my Mac to Lion, it's disconnecting too often. How to fix it ?

It might be a physical battery connection problem. The solution was already described by this article:http://macs.about.com/od/tipstricks/qt/Fix-Magic-Mouse-Disconnects.htm
Placing a trimmed piece on paper that was cut from a business card between the batteries and the battery-enclosure lid helps hold the batteries down firmly. This eliminates the tiny freeplay that allows a physical battery terminal disconnect when the mouse is jolted.

  • Constantly getting "Bluetooth Connection Lost"

I have an Iogear Model GME225B Bluetooth Mouse. It will work fine for a while and then just lose it's connection. It has been replaced once already, but I am wondering if there is something wrong with my Powerbook G4's bluetooth module. Do these ever go bad? Has anyone else had problems with this Bluetooth Mouse?
    Any help would be appreciated.

An update on my Iogear Bluetooth Optical Mini Mouse.
I sent the mouse back for the second time. Iogear promptly sent me a replacement. When I tried to set it up, everything went fine except it would not pair.
I went online to their live chat with a Tech and he had me set it up under Bluetooth as follows:
Select "Any Device" instead of "mouse", tell the computer "do not generate the pass key", Select the option that you can put the pass key in, use the passkey "1234."
It worked! and has been working perfect so far with no disconnections unless of course it sits idle for a while.
I love this mouse. It is such a perfect size for me and Iogear has been the best. They truly warrant their product.

  • Bluetooth connection lost after sleep mode

I'm using a bluetooth keyboard with my iPhone. It works great. However, if the phone goes into sleep mode, it does not keep the connection and I have to re-establish the connection through settings each time. Is there a way to keep the connection or have it automaticaly reconnect?

I use the Apple bluetooth. When I sleep my iPad it actually puts the keyboard to sleep. Probably to save the batteries. When I wake the iPad, I still have to go to the Bluetooth and reconnect via the iPad. The keyboard automatically turns back on so I don't have to power it on. I think that is the best you could hope for.

  • Bluetooth Connection lost

My Plantronics M155 device loses connection every 20 seconds when the phone is not charging.  When charging, the connection is maintained until the display dims.  any ideas?

Hi thanks for that info, but this is the third bb and it is always the device. I have just this minute paired with my wifes phone no problem at all, went straght back and followed the exact same procedure and it pairs but then will not connect so once again has to be the device, I have tried to contact BB direct but cannot find a link to them. Looks like another lengthy call to Vodafone BlackBerry Tech support and all they will do is send me another divice, surley someone will want to know that it is a problem or is it the power of my mind causes this  problem?
