Magic Trackpad - Cannot get Bluetooth to recognize it

So, I purchased the new Magic Trackpad for my Mac Pro and MacBook Pro... Works well on my Mac Pro, but I cannot get it to come up in Bluetooth on my 2010 MacBook Pro. I do not use USB Overdrive. I've tried syncing in both the Bluetooth Preference and within the Trackpad Preference. No go. Turn it on, turn it off, restart the computer, reset PRAM, and nothing seems to help.
What gives? I have my laptop hooked up to my TV and would like to navigate it on the couch using the Trackpad... How? Help!

I've got exactly the same problem, its killing me.. I've been trying for about 10 days now.
I actually want to do exactly the same thing, connect to my Macbook Air connected to TV.. I want the Trackpad as a bedside nav with my bluetooth Keyboard... crazy as this should be so simple.
I've installed the : MagicTrackpadMultiTouchUpd1.0.dmg Makes no difference, it just won't pair. It pairs with my iMac but I do not get the correct prefernces appearing. (But at least it pair's)
Feel like this problem is beating me today!!

I cannot get CS6 to recognize my Sony DCR-TRV340 camera for capturing video from that camera. The CS6 capture box keeps putting up a message that capture device is off line. The Sony DCR-TRV340 camera is not listed in the CS6 Device Type list in the CS6 DV/HDV device control settings box of Sony cameras. I've downloaded what I think are the correct drivers for the TRV340, and when I plug the camera into the computer, the computer shows it listed in the devices and printers box, but CS6 will not recognize it. Do I need to install these drivers into a specific folder in the CS6 program? If so, where do I find these drivers in the windows 7 professional operating system, and into which CS6 file folder would I copy them to?

Most camera's are not listed in Device controle, set it to Sony and generic. Yours is very old its a Digital 8 camera (I still got a TRV210). Johns second link wont work with your camera.
You do not need to download drivers nor do you need to install anything. Most likely its the Legacy driver.

General rule is connect camera to pc wait until windows reconigzes the camera.
Fire up Premiere and capture.
Never connect the camera to pc when the camera is on.

SHA-1 - cannot get terminal to recognize the path

I have followed quite precisely the instructions at

to verify an SHA-1 digest, in this case for the 10.5.6 upgrade. I cannot get Terminal to recognize the path, despite that I have up it in several times with great care!

Using the 'Terminal App' can be quite tricky for sure but I'll walk you through it.
First, open the 'Terminal App' and then type in
/usr/bin/openssl
Now hit the spacebar to add a space.
Then type in
sha1
and hit the spacebar again to add another space.
So now this should be the command line so far
/usr/bin/openssl sha1
Now open the finder and locate the file you want to verify. It's probably in your downloads folder. Once the file is located, Click & Drag it into the 'Terminal App' and release it. Bingo! The 'Terminal App' will have the correct path to the file and should verify it after you press the 'return' key. (Note: Any spaces in the file name, the 'Terminal App' will pad them with a backslash "\". Example File Name: +"My File.txt"+ becomes +"My\ File.txt"+ ). So +Don't Panic+ if you see any backslashes.
Now the command line should be something like this ...
/usr/bin/openssl sha1 /Users/David/Downloads/MacOSXUpdCombo10.5.6.dmg

Anytime I ask it to call, text, email any contact name it says it cannot find them in my contacts?

If it says "Delivered" under it to begin with, then you're not sending it as an MMS, you're sending it as an iMessage. It's entirely possible the problem is on the receiving end.

Magic Trackpad: cannot pair; instructions wrong; no "Setup Bluetooth Trackp

Brand new MacBook Pro 2.66GHz Core i7 running 10.6.3 as received from Apple.
Magic Trackpad instruction book pg 4 is wrong; there is no "Setup Bluetooth Trackpad" button in the Trackpad preferences pane.
Tried using the Keyboard pane; it just keeps spinning looking for a device -- but the power light on the Magic Trackpad does blink during this.
Need the MTrackpad on the left since the computer is on the right & I've ruined my right thumb joint with 20+ years of trackpad use.

I believe MT needed an update to work. Here is the update but note that you must be on 10.6.4 to apply it. If you just do a Software Update and move to 10.6.5, the support is built in.

I have just bought Element 11 but cannot get it to recognize Windows Mail as my Carrier

Previously I used Elements 7 to send photos to friends, but I bought a Nikon D800 Camera, and elements 7 does not support files from that camera, so I bought Elements 11, but cannot get it to access Windows Mail as my carrier. When I try to e-mail photos it only shows Microsoft Outlook or Adobe Mail to choose from. How do I get the program to understand that I use Windows Mail as my carrier.

I use Windows Mail all the time and it is the Default e-mail carrier for all my other programs and is the only carrier that I use in my computer. I use Windows Mail with Elements 7, Wordperfect and Word. The only reason I bought Elements 11 was because I had bought this new camera with 36.3 mega pixels, Elements 7 could not handle these files, and I was advised to buy Elements 11, which works fine with these files. I do not understand why Elements 11 did not recognize Windows Mail as my default, and does not give me any options other that Windows Outlook or Adobe Mail. There must be a way to get into this programs setup to alter this, but I cannot find any way which would allow me to do that. Can You help me.

Cannot get Ex495 to recognize new 2 TB hard drive

I just purchased a new 2 TB Hitachi hard drive, but the home server won't recognize it. I tried to put it in the 3rd and 4th bay, but it just wouldn't work. I did put the drive in a desktop and it works fine, so it's not a hard drive hardware issue itself. Is it a known issue with 2 tb drive with the server?

Cannot get Lela to recognize my internet connection

I have tried and tried and tried to get Lela to recognize my internet connection. I am connected to the internet through the WRT54G right now, but the easylink advisor will not "fix" the internet connection in my network. It just keeps telling me to make sure my cables are connected - they are, it tells me to plug and unplug my modem and router (done this at least 20 times). I'm guessing there is some setting on my computer that needs to change, but I have'nt a clue what it could be unless Lela tells me what needs changed. Like I stated I am typing this and have an internet connection right now. When I try to get through to support from easylink advisor it goes to a "the website cannot be found" site. Could someone help me I am about worn out with this issue?

Go to add/remove programs and remove LELA from your system. It is not needed for anything.

I cannot get my iPod Touch to sunc with my Bluetooth adapter. The adapteer works with other BT devices. I received a message stating "no device driver installed" I am presuming the message is associated witht eh iPod. Any help or ideas appreciated.

The BT profiles on the iPod do not allow pairing with a computer. See:

Well. I can't get bluetooth to work. I have 3 different Bluetooth Dongles to test. lsusb lists them like this:
Bus 001 Device 027: ID 0a12:0001 Cambridge Silicon Radio, Ltd Bluetooth Dongle (HCI mode)
Bus 001 Device 026: ID 057c:3800 AVM GmbH BlueFRITZ! Bluetooth Stick
Bus 002 Device 014: ID 0a12:0001 Cambridge Silicon Radio, Ltd Bluetooth Dongle (HCI mode)
2 Obviously have the same chip. On my fathers Fedora box all these dongles work. So I started the bluetooth daemon. I connected all 3 sticks and this is what my messages.log tells me:

They are not recognized. hcid should detect them according to http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Bluetooth
After searching the forums the solution for others was to turn on dbus. But my dbus is on.
lsmod | grep blue:
bluetooth 56484 8 hidp,hci_vhci,hci_uart,bpa10x,bfusb,rfcomm,l2cap,hci_usb
hcitool lists no available devices. What am I missing? Someone has an idea?

But I can't get it to work as an audio device, it still make when I try to connect it:
