Magic Trackpad suddenly begins lagging

I have had my Magic Trackpad for about a year now, I used it with my old iMac, and then I sold that and got a macbook pro, it worked fine with both, but now suddenly my Magic Trackpad is lagging sometimes when I am using it. It seems random, I swapped batteries but that doesn't seem to help. I don't know how much its lagging but enough to where I can't do things quickly, is this a blue tooth issue? I had no problems with my old iMac, but this newey late 2011 MBP is just having problems. Anyone else got this to work?

Saltank - Thanks for a reply.
I did contact Apple about this problem, tho I have an older unsupported machine, a Mac Pro, I thought it was a 10.10.3 problem and supportable. I'm in contact w/ a senior adviser whose now taken my problem to the engineers, and I'll post what the fix might be.
My symptoms happened at once and have been consistent, they started 5 days after the Update. I also hooked up another track pad and had same problem - yes maybe bluetooth related, I don't have a bluetooth keyboard, so I can't say. But that is interesting that your problems are developing around that possibility.
The first tech I spoke to said that she saw that a few people have had somewhat similar issues along these lines (tho the senior adviser did not say as much). Both of course were totally helpful and nice. The senior advisor filed a data report.
EGAD!!! Writing that last sentence - all of a sudden the screen activated the 4 finger upswipe I tried to make 4-5 minutes ago!!! AND NOW I HAVE ALL THE GESTURES BACK AGAIN! WTH? Did something just happen on the Apple side w/ my case behind the scenes? Can they do that? Or is this like what you were saying w/ the disconnecting completely and then coming back? Will this last all day? Is the functionality back? I'll have to wait the day to see...
I'll have to get back to this thread later.

  • Magic trackpad suddenly won't connect

I have a Mac Mini that I use solely for watching movies.  It's connected directly to my TV, works great.  I recently had to change the batteries, now it takes forever to connect.  Formerly, whenever I turned the Mini on, the Trackpad connected right away.  Now it takes forever and sometimes won't connect.  When I turn it on, I get a solid green light for a few seconds, then nothing, no flashing light like it is trying to pair.  Everything is up to date.  Any suggestions?

If you are not comfortable taking the bottom off, have Apple do it for you.  If you want to do it yourself, it requires a #00 Phillips driver.
    Ciao.
If you do choose to do it yourself, note that three screws near the hinge are longer than the rest.
If the battery is swollen, it should be replaced.

  • 10.6.5 and Magic Trackpad = FAIL

I thought I had worked out the problems with my Magic Trackpad and 10.6.5, but right now it looks as though 10.6.5 broke my Magic Trackpad's functionality.
After the 10.6.5 update, my Magic Trackpad is no longer recognized. I've reinstalled the Magic Trackpad Update 1.0 and also reinstalled the 10.6.5 combo, but I can't get my iMac to recognize the Magic Trackpad. I've also trashed the com.apple.bluetooth.plist as was mentioned in another thread, but that change didn't stick after a reboot.
Symptoms: When I go into the Trackpad Preference pane, I turn on my Magic Trackpad and begin the Bluetooth search. The dialog comes up with 'Found "Apple Wireless Trackpad"', but when I hit Connect, I eventually get an error - "The pairing attempt was unsuccessful". The strange thing is that if I go into the Bluetooth Preference pane, the "Apple Wireless Trackpad" shows up defined and connected. If I delete the "Apple Wireless Trackpad" pairing under the Bluetooth pane, then add the MT back in, the pairing works correctly. But as soon as I enter the Trackpad pane, all the problems start.
I've rebooted into Safe mod and tried the Trackpad Preference pane, but it still doesn't work there. I called Apple Support, and they advised me to do an archive/install of 10.6.0 from my SL DVD, then apply the 10.6.4 combo and MT 1.0 update, then try the MT out. If it works, then apply the 10.6.5 combo and try again. But this seems like a long process for something that I know worked up until the 10.6.5 release.
Does anyone have any other suggestions as to what I can try (other than reverting to 10.6.4)? I really want to keep 10.6.5 for the graphics improvements (I play Steam), so I can live without the MT until it's fixed. But I really want my MT to work.
    Thanks.

I had exactly the same problem on 10.6.4, and now it still exists on 10.6.5. I am able to get my Magic Trackpad working again simply by shutting down and restarting under 10.6.5, but then it stops working if I leave my computer alone overnight or while at work.
I long ago removed all USB Overdrive components, but the problem persists.
As a side effect, I notice that iTunes stops recognizing my iPhone 4 with latest iOS when the Magic Trackpad stops working. When I get the Magic Trackpad working again, iTunes again recognizes the iPhone. The iPhone is connected via the USB cable, and BlueTooth is turned OFF on the iPhone. This suggests a possible USB issue, in addition to the obvious possible BlueTooth issue.
Under 10.6.4, I sometimes had to shut down and reboot several times, and remove all user and local preference panes, before the Magic Trackpad would start working again. Sometimes I noticed that the BlueTooth preference pane had disappeared from System Preferences, which it is supposed to do when it detects no pairable BlueTooth devices nearby. Replacing the Magic Trackpad's batteries, turning it off and on, etc., make no difference.
I suspect a software conflict somewhere, but despite considerable exploration I have found nothing. Monday, I'm going to ask Apple to replace my Magic Trackpad (because, really, I can't live without it).

  • Magic Trackpad has become a battery black hole

Why has my Magic Trackpad suddenly start eating batteries like potato chips? I have been using it for well over a year with only needing to change the batteries about every month and a half. I use Sanyo Eneloop1.2v Ni-MH 2,000 mAH batteries. Yesterday I lost Trackpad connectivity because of a low battery condition, swapped them out with fully charged ones then several hours later the same thing happened. Each time was a different set of batteries. I swapped out the keyboard batteries as well and they are doing fine and registering at 100%. Usage is very light. What is going on?

Same thing here. I had a 2008 iMac for many years with a Magic Track pad, got a new 27" iMac in September with a new trackpad. Running Mavericks and it's eating my batteries like crazy. I go through two a week and i'm only on my computer about 4 hours a week at the most. I used to use my Mac much more than i do now and the batteries would last for almost 4 to 6 months. Alkaline in every case. Something is up. I see lots of people with this problem on the discussion boards.

  • Bluetooth lags on new Mac Mini w/ Wireless keyboard and Magic Trackpad

    Hi everyone,
I just bought a new mac mini (the basic model) and attached it via HDMI to a HD TV. I bought the mac wireless keyboard and magic trackpad to go with it. Everything works except that both the keyboard and mouse are consistently slow. Not quite to the point of un-useable, but very noticeable.
I've read that it might be radio interference with the bluetooth signal. To test this, I put my Macbook Pro right next to the new mac mini (while it and the screen were on) and paired the keyboard and mouse to the macbook pro. Everything was super fast, no lag - so that leads me to think the problem is with the Mac Mini. I've tried playing with all the bluetooth options, to no avail.
Anyone have any suggestions? I've also tried attaching a bluetooth magic mouse and had the same slowdown. Nothing seems to affect the lag, it's very consistent and probably around half a second between keystroke or mouse movement and it's reflection on the screen.
    Thanks,
    -Mike

    Hey All,
I've got the same issue with my Mac Book Pro and a new Samsung LED 3D TV. Its connected through a DVI out from the mac to a gold HDMI adaptor, then to HDMI into the TV. I've used this set-up with my last HDTV which was a Sharp LCD, and there was no lag and no issues.
I noticed that for me, the lag appeared on the TV, but not on the laptop, so I thought it might be the connection (If I went right to HDMI instead of an adaptor maybe it'd be better) but I don't think it is given that the last TV worked fine.
I then went to my display settings in the control panel on my mac and changed the refresh rate from 24 Hertz to 60 Hertz (NTSC) on the TV and the issue has pretty much completely dissappeared. Not sure why that was the default, but I imagine certain video and other media will play even smoother as well!
    Woo hoo!
Hope you all figure this out too!

  • Magic Trackpad jerky - All of sudden

All of a sudden - out of nowhere - my Magic Trackpad is all jerky and doesn't track the pointer smoothly.  This is occuring after a few minutes after resetting it.  I've done several resets and the same result; after a short period of time of working normally, it starts acting up.  I had to go back to my Magic Mouse - which I now hate after being on the track pad for so long using gestures under Lion.
The only thing I can conclude is that the BlueTooth antenna is going on the device.
Has anyone else had this issue?  Any solutions out there?  I'm out of ideas.
    Thanks.

Yes, I have exactly the syptoms you describe. I'ts been happening for the last few days.
Can anybody suggest something we can try?
    Thanks in advance,

  • MBP suddenly slow/lagging - pls somebody skilled with EtreCheck tell me what's wrong?

I love ASC for hands-on advice to try oneself however this time I am in it too deep: My sons MBP suddenly became lagging and unresponsive/very very slow... ie. the swirl-thing comes up 1-2 secs AFTER clicking the apple-icon and the menu yet another 6-10 secs. Below is a copy from EtreCheck, pls help me understand it - never used it before.. My other MBPs could be optimized as well but at least they perform ok... this one is bad. Who to blame? Me, my son or thirdparty?

    1. This procedure is a diagnostic test. It changes nothing, for better or worse, and therefore will not, in itself, solve the problem. But with the aid of the test results, the solution may take a few minutes, instead of hours or days.
Don't be put off by the complexity of these instructions. The process is much less complicated than the description. You do harder tasks with the computer all the time.
    2. If you don't already have a current backup, back up all data before doing anything else. The backup is necessary on general principle, not because of anything in the test procedure. Backup is always a must, and when you're having any kind of trouble with the computer, you may be at higher than usual risk of losing data, whether you follow these instructions or not.
There are ways to back up a computer that isn't fully functional. Ask if you need guidance.
    3. Below are instructions to run a UNIX shell script, a type of program. As I wrote above, it changes nothing. It doesn't send or receive any data on the network. All it does is to generate a human-readable report on the state of the computer. That report goes nowhere unless you choose to share it. If you prefer, you can act on it yourself without disclosing the contents to me or anyone else.
You should be wondering whether you can believe me, and whether it's safe to run a program at the behest of a stranger. In general, no, it's not safe and I don't encourage it.
In this case, however, there are a couple of ways for you to decide whether the program is safe without having to trust me. First, you can read it. Unlike an application that you download and click to run, it's transparent, so anyone with the necessary skill can verify what it does.
You may not be able to understand the script yourself. But variations of the script have been posted on this website thousands of times over a period of years. The site is hosted by Apple, which does not allow it to be used to distribute harmful software. Any one of the millions of registered users could have read the script and raised the alarm if it was harmful. Then I would not be here now and you would not be reading this message.
Nevertheless, if you can't satisfy yourself that these instructions are safe, don't follow them. Ask for other options.
    4. Here's a summary of what you need to do, if you choose to proceed:
☞ Copy a line of text in this window to the Clipboard.
☞ Paste into the window of another application.
☞ Wait for the test to run. It usually takes a few minutes.
☞ Paste the results, which will have been copied automatically, back into a reply on this page.
The sequence is: copy, paste, wait, paste again. You don't need to copy a second time. Details follow.
    5. You may have started the computer in "safe" mode. Preferably, these steps should be taken in “normal” mode, under the conditions in which the problem is reproduced. If the system is now in safe mode and works well enough in normal mode to run the test, restart as usual. If you can only test in safe mode, do that.
    6. If you have more than one user, and the one affected by the problem is not an administrator, then please run the test twice: once while logged in as the affected user, and once as an administrator. The results may be different. The user that is created automatically on a new computer when you start it for the first time is an administrator. If you can't log in as an administrator, test as the affected user. Most personal Macs have only one user, and in that case this section doesn’t apply. Don't log in as root.
    7. The script is a single long line, all of which must be selected. You can accomplish this easily by triple-clicking anywhere in the line. The whole line will highlight, though you may not see all of it in the browser window, and you can then copy it. If you try to select the line by dragging across the part you can see, you won't get all of it.
Triple-click anywhere in the line of text below on this page to select it:

Copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C.
    8. Launch the built-in Terminal application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Terminal in the icon grid.
Click anywhere in the Terminal window and paste by pressing command-V. The text you pasted should vanish immediately. If it doesn't, press the return key.
    9. If you see an error message in the Terminal window such as "Syntax error" or "Event not found," enter
    exec bash
and press return. Then paste the script again.
    10. If you're logged in as an administrator, you'll be prompted for your login password. Nothing will be displayed when you type it. You will not see the usual dots in place of typed characters. Make sure caps lock is off. Type carefully and then press return. You may get a one-time warning to be careful. If you make three failed attempts to enter the password, the test will run anyway, but it will produce less information. In most cases, the difference is not important. If you don't know the password, or if you prefer not to enter it, press the key combination control-C or just press return  three times at the password prompt. Again, the script will still run.
If you're not logged in as an administrator, you won't be prompted for a password. The test will still run. It just won't do anything that requires administrator privileges.
    11. The test may take a few minutes to run, depending on how many files you have and the speed of the computer. A computer that's abnormally slow may take longer to run the test. While it's running, there will be nothing in the Terminal window and no indication of progress. Wait for the line
    [Process completed]
to appear. If you don't see it within half an hour or so, the test probably won't complete in a reasonable time. In that case, close the Terminal window and report what happened. No harm will be done.
    12. When the test is complete, quit Terminal. The results will have been copied to the Clipboard automatically. They are not shown in the Terminal window. Please don't copy anything from there. All you have to do is start a reply to this comment and then paste by pressing command-V again.
At the top of the results, there will be a line that begins with the words "Start time." If you don't see that, but instead see a mass of gibberish, you didn't wait for the "Process completed" message to appear in the Terminal window. Please wait for it and try again.
If any private information, such as your name or email address, appears in the results, anonymize it before posting. Usually that won't be necessary.
    13. When you post the results, you might see an error message on the web page: "You have included content in your post that is not permitted," or "You are not authorized to post." That's a bug in the forum software. Please post the test results on Pastebin, then post a link here to the page you created.
    14. This is a public forum, and others may give you advice based on the results of the test. They speak only for themselves, and I don't necessarily agree with them.

  • Magic Trackpad reboot?

    Hi everyone,
Yesterday my Magic Trackpad is gone. Suddenly.
No scolling response at all, the device is connected, batteries OK, THE PHYSICAL CLICK WORKS, but the pad itself is gone.
Changed batteries, restarted my Mac several times, no way to wake it up.
Before bringing it back for repair, I'm asking something I wasn't able to find anywhere: is there a way, some procedure, to restart/reboot my Magic Trackpad and fix this issue?
    Thank you all
    Riccardo
PS: Thank you Steve, looking forward for your comeback. Come on!

My instructions in that post said "Keep the first 4 checkboxes checked".  I never said check the remaining boxes.  And as it turns out, the fifth box is "Force Setup Assistant to runs again on restart".  That's why you are being prompted to reenter all your setup config information! The file named /var/db/.AppleSetupDone was deleted which causes that behavior (it says that too for that checkbox).
Don't you have any backups of your boot system?  If you did you could try copying the .AppleSetupDone file from the backup.   Somehow you need to get /var/db/.AppleSetupDone recreated.  You say your original account is there.  So there is hope and maybe only getting a new .AppleSetupDone is what's required.
There's a number of ways to approach this.  But describing them clearly I suspect is going to loose something in the translation (if my simple BT reset is any example).  So what I suggest before you do anything further, if you don't have any backups, back up that disk.  Even if it means going out and buying an external enclosure with a disk.  At least you'll then be able to do future backups if you ever get yourself out of this mess.
Assuming you have your disk backed up, reboot and go through the setup process but create a different account (i.e., different name from your original account).  I'm assuming (hoping really since I'm playing this by ear making it up as I go along) that your /Users will have two accounts showing; the original and the new one created by the new config/setup process.
I am assuming at this point you are logged into the newly created account.  If you go into the Accounts preference pane I don't know if it will show both the new and old accounts or just the new account.
Click the lock in the lower left corner and enter your admin password.
    Click the Login Options.
Make sure Automatic login is off (leave everything else alone).
Control click (right click) on your newly created account on the left and select Advanced Options...
The field that says Home directory probably says /Users/your-new-account-name, where your account name is whatever you just set up.  Change it to /Users/your-old-account-name.  In other words you are pointing the home directory back to your original account.
Also note the User ID, which I assume is 501.  You are not going to change this but I want to talk more about it a little later.
I think at this point there are two ways to go.  The first way is for you click OK and immediately reboot.  When presented with the login screen (remember Automatic login has been turned off) log into the new account you had configured for the setup.  Basically all that was done was to "move" the home directory for the new account to use the old account's home directory.
I'm assuming you originally only had the one account to begin with (i.e., the one I referred to as your-old-account-name).  In that case its User ID should also be 501.  This is critical for the permissions stuff so that changing the home directory of the new account should not affect the permissions.
So at this point, if this all works (like I said I'm making this up as I type), you can use your old account but you need to log in with the new account name.  If you are happy with that you can trash the /User/your-new-account-name.  It's useless anyhow since it too is based on User ID 501.
The second way you could go (remember I said there were two ways to go) is to change the account name in the Advanced Options (the same panel you changed the home directory in) to the old account name.  Then click the OK button and reboot.
So this second scheme is you changed both the home directory and account name.  I never did this before so I don't know what the implications of this are.  But if it works, after clicking the OK button, reboot, and with this scheme you would log in with your old account name.  Again trash the /Users/your-new-account-name.  Theoretically, you would now be back where you started before you ever tried the BT factory reset.
I've described only one scenario and as I said there are other approaches.  But this post is getting too long and maybe confusing.
I hope this is clear enough.  No guarantees.  And I'll say it again.  Make sure you backed that disk up before trying any of this.

  • Magic trackpad single tap not working

    Hey Everyone,
So I have a new 2014 mac mini, and I have the magic trackpad and wireless keyboard connected to it.  In my settings I have the "single tap" turned on, but when actually "tapping" with a single press, it doesn't work.  The only way it works is if I actually use the click function.  Now, I have bootcamp loaded up and these functions works perfect on my windows 8.1 partition.  Any suggestions?

Using Lion 10.7.2, iMac 2010, Bluetooth trackpad, keyboard and mouse. Suddenly computer screen/screens would freeze after a prolonged (hours>overnight) sleep, no response to the trackpad or keyboard, requiring a restart. Problem has been fixed for past 2+ weeks, after performing the following:
    1. Connect USB keyboard and mouse and restart computer.
    2. Remove all 3 Bluetooth devices and partially remove batteries.
    3. Turn off Bluetooth in System Preferences.
    4. After overnight sleep, turn on Bluetooth in System Preferences.
    5. Reconnect Bluetooth keyboard. Waited another day.
    6. Reconnect Bluetooth trackpad and mouse.
    7. After overnight sleep, everything was OK.
    8. Removed USB mouse and keyboard.
    9. No further problems with sleep>freezing and bluetooth devices all OK.

  • Magic Trackpad gone wild

Has anyone seen a Magic Trackpad go wild?
It seems to be OK all morning then last two days around now all of a sudden it just seems to scroll over and click on everything on my desktop so fast I cannot really see what is happening. Applications launching etc. like crazy. I do not think it is inteference. If I turn it off or take it way out in the garage the iMac settles down. It has been a bit be humid down here.
When the trackpad goes wild I battery-up a standby magic mouse to do my work. After awhile I can power the magic trackpad back up or go out retrieve it from the garage and it seems ok.

Again, If I understand the technology correctly these devices can be sensitive to humidity. I am 99% sure mine became very sensitive. They run on the electronic principle of capacitance. If you have ever been to Las Vegas, which is really dry, you will be shocked by the static electricity. The other side of the coin is humidity.
Notice if you leave mosturizer on your hands or if they are not completely dry any of these devices can act weird. I could see how the they could go bad - or become more sensitive. Capacitors tend to be the weak link in lots of electronics.
I took mine back to the Apple Store and the new one is just fine.  Humidity or not.

  • Why does my trackpad start to lag when i charge my macbook pro?

This week suddenly my macbook pro has the issue that my trackpad starts to lag when i charge my macbook. I have had my macbook for 6 months now and everything worked fine until now.

You should post that on the Boot Camp  forum, that is where all the Boot Camp and Windows guys hang out.
    Good luck.

  • Magic trackpad won't pair

Just bought a magic trackpad and I can't get it to pair with my mac mini.
I have a 2009 mac mini running lion with 8 gigs of ram.
I turn on the trackpad and the light begins to blink , and then I click the
track pad button in system preferences but it never finds the trackpad.

    Never mind!
I restarted the computer and tried it again and the trackpad was quickly paired.
So, all is right in the world.
    Thanks

  • Back functionality in Safari broken with 9.1 with Magic Trackpad?

Mavericks 10.9.1 update appears to have broken the use of Safari 'back' gesture, but only for standalone Magic Trackpad users? Trying to swipe with two fingers from left to right to go back simply moves the front browser pane a few mm's then stops. You can no longer interact with the page, and have to either close and reopen safari, or pop open the MBP and use the onboard trackpad, in which case you can continue the gesture through to completion, then go back to using the standalone trackpad. It's as tho with Magic Trackpad it gets stuck just after the gesture/back animation begins.
Anyone else seeing this or just me?

    1. From the Safari menu bar, select
Safari ▹ Preferences... ▹ Privacy ▹ Remove All Website Data
    and confirm. Test.
    2. There are reports that this problem can be solved by simply restarting, or by resetting the PRAM.

  • Magic trackpad, Intuos4, Better touch tools and Photoshop issues

I am using a new magic trackpad with an Intuos4 (most recent update) with Photoshop CS2. I used BTT (better touch tools) to designate upper left click for brush, and lower right click for eraser. Works great (little lag from trackpad) on my 2006 macbook.
But after several swithces between brush and eraser, my Intuos4 pen stops drawing or erasing. The cursor still moves around, but I can't draw or erase. Is thre something I can do about this?
I love using the trackpad with my left hand because I don't have to look down from the screen, and can keep my right hand drawing. Really effecient when it works. I checked the wacom forum and they said try moving the two pads farther apart.
Any insight? I plan on updating computer and software. Maybe this is not a problem with a new iMac and Lion?
    Thanks!!!

After installing this update, I've been facing some issues, since I have already been using Jitouch (which I really need).
Is there any way to uninstall this update??
    Welcome to Apple's discussion groups.
The brute-force approach would be to reinstall the last version of Mac OS X.
Another approach, although not necessarily for the faint at heart, is to look in /Library/Receipts/boms ("bill of materials", presumably) for a file named after the update, then look in it for the list of files updated as part of the update. I don't know if there's a user-oriented application that knows how to look into a "bom" file, but I was able to see that information with a "strings" command in a Terminal session.
One last approach might be to look in /System/Library/Extensions for a "kext" file with a name and/or date that suggests that it was updated as part of the trackpad update.
Once new and/or updated files have been identified, you could move them out of the directory where they are found. If a file has been updated, it might be important to replace it with the older version of the file, otherwise something important could be disabled.

  • Magic trackpad question

I posted this question in another section of this site and didnt get a response so I thought Id put it in another section and maybe Ill get a response this time.  Basically, my problem is after my computer goes to sleep and I click a key to wake it up my arrow is frozen and wont move, Ive checked the battery power in my trackpad and my keyboard and they both have plenty of battery power and it shows that my trackpad is connected onscreen yet my arrow still wont move.  I have to mess with turning my trackpad off and on and have to turn my computer off and on again as I have no way of clicking boxes because the arrow wont move.  This has just started happening in the past 2 or 3 days and I havent done anything out of the ordinary.  It finally comes around and starts working but I would like it to work instantly after I click a key to wake my computer up like it used to do for years before this started happening.  Could anyone help me with this and tell me why this may be happening and what I can do to fix it?  Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!

Bluetooth and 802.11b/g (sometimes n) WiFi 2.4GHz frequences.  Also on some Macs the WiFi and Bluetooth antennas are either shared or very close to each other.
So you can have interference from 2.4GHz WiFi.  You can also have interference from 2.4GHz cordless phones (yours or your close neighbors), 2.4GHz baby monitors (yours or your close neighbors), microwave ovens (which also use 2.4GHz frequencies).
As an experiment, when they happens again, turn off your Mac's WiFi (WiFi menu -> Turn Wi-Fi Off.  See if your Magic Trackpad will connect.  Then turn WiFi back on.
If you have the option of use 802.11n 5GHz only WiFi in your home, give that a try (I understand that many handheld devices often only have 2.4GHz WiFi support, so this might ONLY be an experiment).
You could try the suggestions in the following article
    <http://www.computerworld.com/article/2475598/mac-os-x/os-x-mavericks--fixing-wir eless-keyboard-mouse-connections.html>
    You could try deleting
    /Library/Preferences/com.apple.Bluetooth.plist
    reboot your Mac
Pair all your bluetooth devcies again.
Wild idea, maybe AirDrop is causing problem (not my best idea, so do not assume it will be of any use).
