I accidentally changed the magnification settings in Z10. I cant revrse it. please help

After you swipe from the top down from your home screen and select settings, then System settings shows up, it doesn't allow you to scroll down to Accessibility with 1 finger or two sliding up the menu?

Lack of settings in Z10

Anybody else disappointed with the lack of settings on the Z10 vs the Bold?
For instance you can not set the number of vibrates when you have a notification
When you plug in your phone to a charger you can not set it up to go into Bedside Mode
and a few other little things that I really liked about the OS7
unless I'm not doing something right,can someone tell me how?

Old news, there are many posts here about this already.
The Notification granularity from prior BBoSes is not yet available in profiles.... yet.
We are all hoping that these will be added into the OS in newer OS versions.
Bedside mode is enabled by pulling down the "shade" (swipe down from the top) on the lock screen, or by going into the alarm and pulling down the top menu.

Z10 options are less than 9860

Hi just upgraded handset from Blackberry 9860 to Z10. I loved the 9860 but eventually two of the buttons stopped working. One of the most noticeable things about the Z10 compared to 9860 is there seems to be a lot less 'options' on the Z10 for each facility. The 9860 had many more option settings but the 'Settings' in Z10 are limited. One of the things I miss most is the Reduced keyboard layout feature for portrait virtual touchscreen keyboard which had 2 letters on each key. It made texting much easier. The Z10 doesn't have this option. Also, can you change the functionality of the side button key (currently for voice) and change it to e.g. camera? - and also can you change the home screen notifications so that as well as telling you there is a new sms text message, it also tells you who it's from without having to swipe right into the hub every time you want to read the text? For example each contact could have coloured notifications or symbols that are easily recognised?

The volume keys will activate the Camera.

Z10 DELETE AND AUTO CORRECT PROB AS WELL AS LETTER A and L

Was having real probs with the delete ket wiping out everything I had written. Read in hear somewhere to turn off the magnification settings. Did it and it seemed to help quite nicely.
Before I turned off the magnification setting I was also having huge problems with the letter a and the letter l (thats L) key. Whenever I toouched either the a or the l key a pop up of capitol as well as a bunch of other letters popped up disallowing me to select the letter I wanted which was simple a small a or a small l. This issue was also cured it seems by turning off the magnification setting.
Only issue now is sometimes a word is inserted into the space bar that is NOT what I wanted. Invariably, all I want is a space. I have to touch back into the line thingy where the words are being put (not sure what that is referred to) and then the word inside the space bar spot dis-appears and I continue. That is a pain in the butt.
Struggling through but I do hope the delelopers and software staff are reading these forums. Typing software needs a few patches. Get on it gang! Gradually beginning to love the phone.

To properly teach you keyboard what to type, you need to delete what it gets wrong immediately and teach it the right word by typing the word correctly and then flicking the correct word up, either from the spacebar or from a word flick. It is amazing to watch this device learn your typing patterns and words!
You can literally hammer away at the keyboard so fast that you can see what the spacebar is correcting and all of the gobbledygook comes out perfect!
Buy you must teach it.. you are it's master!!!

Z10 can't link to Desktop

Phone: Z10
Current OS: 10.1.0.273
With the usb cable provided, I can previously link the Z10 to my desktop on the previous OS.
I did an software upgrade about 2-3 weeks back & haven't link the phone until today.
The desktop cannot detect the phone.
The usb cable is plug in, the phone shows that it's charging.
Blackberry Link can't detect the phone.
Please advise.

1.Go to settings on Z10->Storage and Access->under access to storage,select the connect to windows,if u r using a PC or connect to Mac,if u r using Mac-->start Link and after it's loaded up connect the device.
2.Connect Z10 to pc with Link loaded up-Restart the device
3.Check for updates to Link
4.Reinstall with the Latest version of Link

Acrobat X - Automate document properties and thumbnails

I have 2400 files (180,000 pages) of declassified military records I am converting to PDF using Print To PDF. The original data is read from a proprietory browser created by the Marine Corps 15 years ago and Print to PDF is the only way to access the data.
1. Currently, I open the new PDF created, CTRL D to Document Properties, then have to enter Navigation Tab > Pages Panel and Page and Magnifaction > Fit Height on each record set.
2. Then i go to Description and add a Description from a database I have live on my website in Coldfusion and Access.
3. I then save the file and close Acrobat X and then repeat the Print To PDF.
Questions to start.
A. Are there settings or Plugins that would allow each of the PDF's created using Print To PDF to automatically have the Navigation and Magnification settings already set?
B. Is there any way to inject the Description into the new PDF or must this always be added manually?
C. Is there any way to automate the Fast Web View function as part of the above process?

You didn't mention which version of Acrobat you're using, which is critical to the answers to these questions.
If you have Acrobat Pro, then you can do A and C in a batch process (aka Action).
B can be achieved using a custom-made script. If you have version 9 or earlier a directly link to the DB can be created and the data copied from it to the script's metadata. If you have Acrobat X this can also be done, but would require export the information from the DB to a file, reading that file with a script in Acrobat and then using it to populate the metadate fields. Again, if you have Acrobat Pro this could be done in a batch process. Otherwise, you'll have to do each file at a time.

Viewing PDFs in Acrobat X on Server 2012 freezing or taking a while to display

We have users that view large PDF files in Acrobat X Professional on a Windows 2012 Terminal Server. For the most part, there are no issues when they RDP into the server from a regular laptop, desktop or thin client. However, a particular user remotes in using a Surface Pro 3 and has Windows magnification settings on. He has a problem where opening up PDFs will either freeze his session or take a few minutes to completely load a single page. I've been able to open up the same exact PDF without a problem from my laptop signed in as him (to write off any possibility of his profile having issues). Therefore, I believe this to be a problem with the display through the RDP session.
My question is: Will upgrading to Acrobat XI Professional solve this problem or at least make it less of an issue? The user cannot work with the magnification off as he cannot read text through the RDP.

Before providing you anything, please describe some more details for clarification.
1. Can other users able to take RDP session normally?
2. Did you apply any particular group policy for the user?
3. When the user try to reconnect after idle time or after disconnection?
4. Which version of OS and RDP client used by your user? I recommend you to try that account with RDP Client 8.0 or 8.1.
You can check below setting under Server Manger:
In Server manager >RDS role > Session Collections Properties > under Session tab
Here you can check “Enable Remote reconnection” is
checked and “End the Session” is
disabled.
You can check the “End session when time limits are reached “setting in group policy for the users under below mention path.

Note: If the session time limits are set via GPO then they will override the setting of session collection level. Also if you apply any change to session time limits it will only apply to new sessions, not existing sessions.

Properies - Initial view

Want to produce a pdf that opens in full screen (so I can use transitions and have a clean presentation). But I also want to maintain a certain frame size (with black background filling the remainder of the screen). I go to File->Properties->Initial view and select a magnification of 75%. But it seems that opening in full screen mode overrides the selected magnification settings. Once in full screen mode however, you can hit "command -" to size down the frame (with black filling in the extra space behind it). Basically, I want to dictate the size of the content when in full-screen mode so things don't get blown up larger than I intended. Any thoughts?

One can not modify the doc open options with a simple JavaScript command. It is possible to use the "batch process" to set the open parameters or add an "execMenuItem()". Using the "execMenuItem()" has the principal drawback that Adobe changes the menu item names and the names displayed on the menu bar are not the names used in JavaScript. So you may need to code this action to include testing the version number and passing a different name based on the version of Acrobat/Reader. You will also have to pass quoted strings, not impossible, but problematic for many users.
Ok, running the script to find the menu command for the bookmark display is:
ShowHideBookmarks
Which toggles the bookmarks pane. I do not see any way to see the state of the bookmark pane so one must know the initial state of the navigation pane before using this command.

Problems turning Illustrator pages into PDFs at the SAME SIZE...?

Something weird is happening for me, when I attempt to turn Illustrator layouts in PDFs or maybe it's "normal" for Acrobat to do this, but I don't like it and I want to fix it...
I have a page laid out in Illustrator. It's RGB, 1024x768 pixels in size, and has various JPGs at 72dpi placed on the page, and it has text on it too.
Everything is laid out pixel-perfect, and when I view it at 100% size in Illustrator, that's the size I want to the PDF to be as well, when the PDF is viewed at 100% size. The PDF is going to be viewed on-screen and the images contained in the file have various lines and suchlike in it that absolutely have to be viewed at 100% size, or they appear all blurry.
So I have my Illustrator document, at 100% size, and it looks perfect. I go to File > Save A Copy and save a version of it as a PDF.
I use the Illustrator Default settings (which, when I go through them all one by one, would indicate to me nothing about a file size conversion, no downsampling, etc.) and my PDF is generated.
However... when I then open up the PDF file in Acrobat Professional, the page it has created is way larger than my Illustrator page. So if I view my new PDF at 100% size, not only has the 72dpi image gone all blurry, but the boundaries of the page extend off the edge of my screen.
I would hazard a guess that in order to get my PDF to appear at the size it *should* be, I have to view it in Acrobat at *about* 75% - but the images are still blurry, because of the re-sizing.
So all I'm asking is for a simple way to get what's in Illustrator to convert to PDF at the same size.
Surely there must be a way?

I'm using Illustrator CS3 13.0.2 and Acrobat Professional 8.1.2, running on Mac OS X 10.5.2 on Intel.

No, that is your current magnification. Your resolution is set in the
"page display" section of Acrobat's preferences. Each user can set it
differently.

Indeed. And people have free choice of how to view them. What you
can't do is do pixel-level design. You can control the open options,
like what magnification, whether the full page is visible, but you
can't control how many pixels that uses, so you cannot match it to
some other application.

Dock items rest at login

Hi,
Recently, my dock preferences are reset each time I login. The applications in the dock are reset to the default apps (all the iLife apps, Quicktime, photobooth, the Apple "spring" web shortcut), despite me having removed them and customising things a bit.
The dock size and magnification settings are also reset.
Further to that, I use KDE installed via Fink. Again, all of my user set preferences are reset to the defaults.
I'm presuming some config files in my home directory are not being read and/or are somehow corrupt.
I can't think of any change I have made recently which may have caused this.
I'm a relative newbie to Mac OS - any help is appreciated, esp. if it saves me reinstalling...

In Finder click on Home then Library then Preferences and locate com.apple.dock.plist and drag it to the desktop.
Log out and log back in again, and make some changes to the Dock.
Log out and log back in again, and see if they now stick.
If they do trash the .plist file that is on the Desktop

Problem with CS3

I've got all my clips together and am ready to publish my movie. I can't, however, figure out why the Sequence is showing up "zoomed" in. It's cutting off the heads of most of my family and I cna't figure out how to change it. I've tried messing with the magnification settings and stuff but I think that's a separate control. The videos show up perfectly in Source view but something about Sequence view is messing them up. PLEASE help! Thanks!

My clip preview on the right isn't showing the entire frame, it looks magnified?

I checked the magnification settings but I still can't see the entire edges of the frame?

Sounds like the Sequence Settings don't match the dimensions of the source content. Try dragging the clip in the Project panel to the New Item button in that panel's lower right corner.
If that doesn't resolve it, please post a screenshot showing the Source Monitor and Program Monitor and, ideally, the Project panel with the Video Info column visible.

Notification rings/vibration problem

Just got Z10 a few days ago and like it so far,but found one problem:
When my Z10 connects/disconnects from my car hans free over bluetooth, it looses notification rings/vibration. I'm still receiving calls/emails but everything is silent. The settings in Z10 are still fine and set to profile "normal".
The only way to make it work I found so far is to power off/on.
Anyone experiencing the same? Any idea howto fix this?

Yup ... me too.
Just got my second Z10 so far Friday as a replacement for my first Z10 due to battery/charging issues and freezing up requiring the battery to be pulled as this is a company phone for business.
So I am at a family gathering today and people are asking about the new BlackBerry, so I start to show others only to discover it won't ring when someone is calling me ... after checking all the settings are correct, and that the volume is all the way up ... only was resolved temporarily by rebooting the phone ... so I'm back to dealing with **bleep** again.
To top it off, a friend summed it up snickering by stating "And that is exactly why regardless of a new flashy phone I won't ever own a BlackBerry"
Geez ... this is beyond ridiculous now ... I can't imagine if I was in sales or real estate dealing with this nonsense.
I'm starting to think we are all a bug of test guinea pigs taking part in the largest beta test ever conducted ...

'borrowing' the view of part of an existing JComponent

In my applications I use a 'Magnifier'; this little component (or widget)
magnifies another component by allowing to set the magnification
(in discrete steps) and the ofset of a viewport. Think of it as a JScrollPane
plus the magnification part.
Everything works fine, no questions here. The Magnifier uses a JSlider
for the magnification settings and a JScrollBar for the ofset adjustment.
This is my question: this compond component takes too much screen
real estate IMHO. I would like to have a JScrollbar with two 'up' arrow
buttons on top and two 'down' arrows below the sliding knob part.
(similar applies when the magnifier is displayed horizontally).
The outermost buttons could take care of the magnification part; maybe
even those small JSpinner buttons would do fine (if available in all
four directions).
Of course I can cook up my own leyft/right/up/down arrow buttons, but
I was wondering: would it be possible to 'borrow' those buttons, or at
least the Icon of those buttons from the standard Swing JComponents?
I pirated the sources and googled around, and I realized that's it's the
corresponding UIs that take care of the appearance of those buttons
and then I hit rock bottom w.r.t. the documentation and the sources.
Any ideas anyone?

3D models imported from U3D show in small window in the middle of document. Any way to resize this?

When I open U3D file with acrobat, it turns 3D into document. Problem, however, is that size of the area where model is shown, is too small and fixed in dimensions.
If I recall correctly, Acrobat 9 automatically resized 3D area to whole window size. Acrobat X, however doesn't do this.
There's no image handles or anything to fix this neither. I went through properties/3D options and nothing there also.
What to do?

If you are converting a U3D file into a new PDF file, then the annotation fits the entire page but it is set to open at "100%" scaling and usually that's quite small - so you simply need to change the initial view > magnification settings under File > Properties.
If you're placing a U3D file into an existing document, the size of the annotation is fixed on the page at author time.
