Magnifying glass zoom tool

Hi, Some of the new features in Edge Animate CC 2014 are welcome additions, particularly the scroll and zoom tools, but unfortunately the magnifying glass tool only seems to zoom in but not out. Select magnifying glass and click to zoom in, select magnifying glass and hold down alt key, still zooms in. Any chance of a fix?

Hi Phildsb, This does work fine on my Mac and Windows systems. You can also use Ctrl+(or -) or Ctrl+scroll options to zoom in and out.
Can you tel me which OS you are using? Also can you check if you have some keyboard shortcut already set that conflicts with this.

  • How do I create a magnifying glass zoom effect?

I'm building an image 'showcase of work' website site. Each html page features a selection of thumbnails on one side linked to a main image on the other.  I am trying to find out how to create something like a zoom effect 'magnifying glass' so that the user can hover over the main image to zoom in within a confined circle or square in more detail, which moves with the mouse whilst hovering over the image. I'm sure you all know what I mean!  (just in case, please see attached html file showing the page layout)  (I also don't want to get too techy/over complicate things as I'm learning as I go). I want to be able to use this feature throughout the site, therefore, I guess it's another CSS rule that I need to apply...?
I'm hoping someone can point me in the right direction to find some sort of step by step 'how to' do this.  I can't seem to find just what I'm looking for... maybe I'm not calling it by the right terminology!
I'm currently using Design Premium CS4 (predominantly Dreamweaver, Photoshop and a little Flash)
    Cheers....

    Hi
Magiczoom and lightbox are used for showing enlarged versions of images etc. similar to using a separate pop-up window (but without the annoyance of pop-up windows).
Anythingzoomer is a magnifying glass effect and works as such.

  • How to access the magnifier/marquee zoom tool in Reader XI?

The subject says it all, really.
    Richard

The keyboard shortcut is the same as in most applications (Windows):
    Ctrl + [zoom in]
    Ctrl - [zoom out]
use the + / - on the numeric keypad.
If you don't have the Zoom tool on your Toolbar, you can add it using View | Show/Hide | Toolbar Items | Select & Zoom.

  • LR4 White balance tool changes to magnifying glass

I just upgrade to LR 4.  However  in the develop module, whenever I choose my white balance tool and then hover over the image it changes to the magnifying glass.  If I click, all it does is zoom in and out.  The circle where the WB tool lives, is blank like it usually is when the tool is selected.
I've checked for stuck keys and still have same result.
    Win 7 pro x64

hmm.. I posted on here. Left LR open and did some other stuff for a while.  Came back to color correct WB tool-less and vola all of a sudden it's working.  we'll see for how long

  • How do I change the size of the tools and the text for the menus in Photoshop?  I need a magnifying glass in order to make out what they are.

How do I change the size of the tools and the text for the menus in Photoshop?  I need a magnifying glass in order to make out what they are.

Okay, I've figured it out, so I'm going to answer my own question in hopes that it may help anyone else that would like to actually be able to see what they're doing when using Photoshop CC 2014 on a high resolution screen.
    1.  Open Photoshop.
    2.  Select Preferences from the Edit Menu, then select General.
    3.  Change the HUD Color Picker to Hue Strip (Medium).
    4.  Select Interface from the Preferences menu on the left side of the dialog box.
    5.  Change the UI Font Size to Large in the Text area of the Preferences dialog box.
    6.  Select Experimental Features from the Preferences menu on the left side of the dialog box.
    7.  Select Scale UI 200% for high-density displays (Windows only).
    8.  Click on OK, then Exit/Quit Photoshop.
    9.  Open Photoshop and everything should be readable.

  • Is there a way to disable that "no zooming" magnifying glass icon?

I'm working on a folio that uses smooth scrolling articles as well as regular single-page articles. My problem is that when I save everything to PDF format, some pages you can pinch and zoom, and others (specifically the smooth scrolling articles) you can't. I figure if I disable pinch and zoom entirely, there will be less confusion.
Question 1: Can you choose to turn off pinch and zoom on PDF articles? How?
Question 2: Can you disable the "no zooming" magnifying glass that pops up when you try to zoom an article that doesn't support it? (eg: smooth scrolling pages)
Question 3: Does anyone know when smooth scrolling will be possible on PDF articles? Because if smooth scrolling was supported on PDF articles this whole thing wouldn't be a problem to begin with.
    Thanks!

    Thanks Bob!
In your answer to Question #1, if you turn off "Enable Pinch & Zoom" will the magnifying glass not appear?
I noticed that the Vogue app featured (http://tv.adobe.com/watch/digital-publishing-customer-showcase/app-of-the-week-vogue/) does not have the magnifying glass icon and wondered how they did that.

    HI ..
    Open a Finder window.
Select your user account on the left in the Sidebar. It has a small house icon.
Now open the Library folder then the Preferences folder.
Move the com.apple.systemuiserver.plist file from the Preferences folder to the Trash.
    Restart your Mac.

  • Magnifying glass icon in Apple's tutorials

Every time I click and watch a tutorial on Apple's website, a magnifying glass pops up and highlights buttons or key areas that the speaker is referring to. How and where is that tool created and used?

Thanks for the reply. I should have signed up for this discussion forum a long time ago!!
Ok, back to your question. I was on iLife 08, looking over a tutorial for iDVD 08. In the section on working with menus, the video shows you the new animated templates Apple has provided for you. During the video, the speaker emphasizes areas such as a button or menu option using a magnifying glass. It zooms in and zooms out very nicely. I know you can do that in After Effects, but was wondering if its built into OS X?

  • CS5 Extended. Dragging on Mag. Glass - Zooms Humongously

Can't find the old posting. I reset my pref's in Photoshop CS5 Extended and now when I drag the magnifying glass... it zooms humongously instead of just what I wanted magnified. I clicked off what I thought would turn that off but it still is doing this.
Also, it's started to do something where if I am near a layer, somehow it brings the ghosted layer all over the place where ever I move my cursor until I go up to the solid arrow and click on that. (That's why I did the above step to try and see if it would stop doing this.)
    Thanks again for help.

Select the Zoom tool (Z key)> uncheck Scrubby Zoom from tool bar
don't know about the second part of your question...

  • Magnifying glass iOs8

    Hello,
I upgraded to iOs8 and everything was going smooth at first but then I got that weird problem with the magnifying glass that pops up when you hold your finger over text that you've typed and want to use that magnifying glass to zoom in. I hold my finger, the thing appears for less than a second and disappears though the cursor does move in between the letters. I tried to restart my phone 3 times and it did fix the problem but for about 10 mins, then it got back.
What will you suggest I do to get rid of that unpleasant situation?
    Thank you for your help!

If you mean that the Zoom tool was removed from the application bar then yes, that was intentional, they needed to make some extra room for the workspace switcher. Anyway, why bother to select the zoom tool? Ctrl+Space and the new scrubby zoom is much faster

  • Magnifying Glass (How do I undo it?)

Hi, Logic has been gr8 so far! I used the magnifying glass to zoom in on a region, but now I don't know how to undo the magnifying glass? How do I get back to a normal sized screen?

Easy. Select the magnify glass tool, and hold down the CTRL button on your keyboard and just click until it gets back to the size you want.

  • Magnifying Glass working strangely CS5

Suddenly I can no longer use the magnifying glass to draw a marquee around a section of a pictu
re. It acts now as a zoom. Move it up the picture via the mouse - it zooms in,
down it zooms out. I have reset the tool but no result. Any ideas how to rest
    ore normal performance? Thanx

That's a new feature called "scrubby zoom" and can be disabled by unchecking the little box at the top of the Photoshop main window, when the zoom tool is active.
Yeah, I didn't like it either.

  • Hand cursor (not arrow cursor) in zoom tool

When I use the zoom tool (and most other tools) in Photoshop CS5, I only have a hand-shaped cursor, not an arrow cursor, and I can't do anything with it. How do I get the arrow cursor back?

You should have a magnifying glass as the cursor if you're using the zoom tool, not the arrow.  I'm wondering if you don't have an issue with your spacebar on your keyboard, as that activates the hand tool.  Can you try a different keyboard?

  • Create a magnifying glass on an image.

I am pretty new to Flex. I am trying to create a magnifying
glass for an image viewer. I want to move the cursor over an image
that will zoom in on a 200X200 area. I don't want to zoom in on the
whole image. I can see I can probably do it with the Bitmap class,
but I do not see how I can cut out a piece of the original bitmap
to display. Also, Flex seems to have a lot of similar features like
Zoom, but I can't see how to use any of these cool features to do
just what i want to do. Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks

The way I do this in Flash is to have a masked enlarged image
on a seperate layer with the magnifier acting as the mask. The mask
object is draggable, so it reveals to larger image as you move it
around. There is some math involved to make it track like it is
    actually revealing the smaller image.
    The layering looks like this:
    mask object
    large image
    small image
mask is a property of flash.display.DisplayObject and
mx.core.IFlexDisplayObject. I haven't played with this yet in Flex,
but I'm sure it should work similarly to what I've used in
    Flash.
