MagSafe flashing green/amber

My macbook pro 13" 2011 was working fine all day. I left it for a bit and opened it up at the end of the day and it shut down as soon as the display booted up. I figured it just needed to charge and left it plugged in over night, but there was no change in the morning. MagSafe is blinking green/amber when plugged in. There is no respsonse from pressing and holding the power button, and the charging display lights on the side aren't lighting up either. I tried the SMC reset with no results. Other threads have suggested unplugging and reconnecting the battery connector inside the shell, but I can't find this connector in my model. I think it might be under the battery? But I'm not sure and I don't want to make my situation worse!
Please help! There is no Apple store or Apple retailers in my town!
Thank you! (:

Opening the body and messing with the battery will void all support from Apple...they are very emphatic about that.
Take the MacBook Pro to an Apple store genius bar and have the techs test it...sounds like a failure in the battery or charging circuitry.  Be sure and take the charger along so they can test that also.

  • Airport Extreme light flashes green, amber, then goes out

When I pug in the Airport Extreme the led status light flashes green, amber, then goes out. Matters not if I press the reset button, unplug and press, or anything else.
So it seems I have power, but it will not work, and the light goes out.
    Any Ideas?

    How old is it?
See if you have a 12v power supply of around 2A around.. and try that.. sometimes the power supply goes.. but often it is the internal supplies.. in which case you cannot really do anything but replace it.
If it is less than 3years old and you have apple care on a computer Apple might replace it.. if you match all the requirements. outside 3years.. buy a new one.

with 82 charging  cycles, your battery most certainly fine.

take a dry toothbrush to the gold contacts both male and female on the connector and retest.
Sounds like you have a damaged connector or a damage in the DC cord.
Go to the apple store and use a DIFFERENT adapter for 10 seconds, that will immediately tell you the SOURCE of the fault.

  • Solid amber flashes green once about every minute + even more problems

I have a problem with my airport express:
-Even after doing a factory reset my airport express has an solid amber light wich flashes green once about every minute.
    - Sometimes the LED light even goes off for a couple of seconds.
    - I can't find the airport express in the airport express utility, even when I directly connect a LAN cable it won't find it.
    - I also can't find the airport express wirelessly.
Please help me fixing this airport express.

    Lauren, welcome to the discussions!
Unfortunately, the symptoms you are describing likely indicate that your Express has an internal problem and may need to be replaced.
If you have not already done so, try a Factory Default Reset to see if that might help.
Power down the Express and wait a few minutes.
Then hold in the reset button and keep holding it in as you plug the device back in to power
Keep holding the reset button until you see the amber light begin to blink more quickly. This normally takes about 5-10 seconds
See if that helps. If no luck, I'm afraid the Express has failed and will need to be replaced.

  • Green/amber lights blink & Mac not recognizing unit

I used iTunes and loaded music onto my shuffle this morning with no problems. I listened to it for about an hour and a half. Later, I plugged it into my computer. The computer and iTunes no longer recognizes the unit. Our other computer does not recognize it either. When I connect it to the USB port, it:
    1)blinks green once
    2)pauses
    3)blinks green/amber together
    4)blinks amber thereafter
It still plays music... but of course I can't update the play list and do not know if it is actually charging.
Any and all suggestions are appreciated! I'm unable to do the restore since the computer doesn't know it's connected.

Cannot run the reset utility... the computer is not
recognizing that it is plugged in so I cannot select
    the restore button...
What does Apple System Profiler say about the USB tree AND the "iPod"? Also, disconnect the Shuffle, reboot and try again.
BTW, the light sequence you listed is perfectly NORMAL...with the exception that something is accessing the Shuffle OR it's "enabled for data" e.g. it's being seen as a flash drive.

  • What does flashing green LED on a Powersupply really mean?

  • What Does Flashing Green Power Cord Light Mean?

Today, my MacBook Pro Retina charging cord started showing a flashing green light on the mag-safe connector.  What does this mean and how can I fix it?

This sounds like some sort of power issue.
Are you using the 3 prong plug or the 2 prong (dusk head)? If you are using the dusk head try the 3 prong.
You can try a SMC reset:
Intel-based Macs: Resetting the System Management Controller (SMC)
Also read thru this and check all that it suggests:
    Apple Portables: Troubleshooting MagSafe adapters
    Check/clean pins/sockets
If still no joy there may a damaged conductor in the cable/attachment to the brick issue.
You can take it to an Apple Genius bar for a free diagnosis/evaluation, bring both the computer and the power supply.
Make an appointment first, as they can be quite busy:

  • Airport Extreme-Green-Amber-Off

I've read several threads on resetting Airport Exreme.  Kids accidentally kicked off power supply station to all devices including computer. Upon power up the Extreme light goes green, amber then off.  Tried soft reset, hard reset, factory reset, etc.  Went through steps from various threads here to sequencially power up devices.  Still, once Extreme is powered up, the light is green for a second, Amber for about 20 seconds then goes off completely.  Reset gets amber light to flash but then steady, then off.  Think it's fried?  BTW, broadband modem works fine once directely connected to iMac.  No broadband at all if connected through Extreme.  Thaks in advance.

      Think it's fried?
Unfortunately, yes. The question is whether the outboard power supply "brick" failed, or whether internal power supply components have failed....or possibly both.
If you have an Apple store in your area, might be a good idea to take it to them to let them have a look.

  • Help with flashing green light on Express

I am trying to set up an airport express in my office to use with my a windows laptop and my iPhone. I had it working yesterday and took it home to set up a home profile on it. Everything was working fine in both places. Today when I plugged it in it went to a steady green for a second or two then amber while it booted as usual but then to a rapid flashing green. I tried everything I can think of including resets and it still does the same thing. It keeps flashing green and never appears in my network lists. Any ideas?

The rapid flashing green light has happened 3 times to me since I first set up my Airport Extreme in fall 2007. The problem is always fixed by unplugging the LAN cable that connects through my hardwire network to my Airport Express. If I plug the LAN cable back, the rapid green returns and I can't access the network. Unplug it, and voila, the network is back. (I only encounter the problem when I have unplugged the Extreme and plugged it back in - if I leave it alone it is fine).
I think the problem is a conflict in my Airport Express being set to act as a wireless bridge by my computer-tech friend, but I had it set up to be hardwired in the network so as to never lose my iTunes to hi-fi connection if there was a wireless problem. I've yet to sit down to resolve the Express issue; however, I suspect that if your case is similar, the Extreme is in conflict with another network device. If you can isolate it the network to just your Internet connection and Extreme, see if that solves it.
    Good luck.

  • Ipod shuffle 2nd gen won't work, light flashing green and orange

My 2nd gen ipod shuffle won't work and the light is flashing green and orange.  Or green, orange, orange, orange.  I've Reset, Restarted, Restored and Re-installed, so before I chuck it out I wondered if there were any other suggestions to get it working?  Thanks,

Sounds like it's still under warranty (one year). Take it back for replacement.

  • SG 200-08 All LED lights flashing green after power failure

Thinking back, about a month ago I updated the firmware (sorry I can't check version at the moment). The switch has been working fine since then. Today I needed to move some power cables and the switch lost power. Now ALL of the LED lights are flashing green and I can't access the switch. I've tried setting a static IP on my laptop to 192.168.1.20, mask 255.255.255.0, and accessing the switch on 192.168.1.254, but there's no response. I've tried holding in the reset button for at least 30 seconds while the switch is powered on, AND while powering it on. None of that has worked. Also when I first power it on, the system LED flashes orange very quickly for a second or so, then all of the LEDS start flashing green.
    What am I missing?

Its been a few months, so I don't remember the details, but I think it was a combination of using the reset button and then opening a browser to the default IP address. If you look at the screenshot I posted it has the IP address I used. I downloaded the firmware again and the webpage in the screenshot is where the router is asking me for the location of the firmware I downloaded. After it finished reloading the firmware it worked again.

  • Cross Dissolve turns to flashing green/gray after export

Hey guys, I just edited a video that needs to be released by 3pm tomorrow on YouTube.
Everything went good while editing, but once I exported, I noticed in the final version, everywhere where I had used crossdissolve, the movie flashes green and gray, untill the crossdissolve is done.
All clips I'm editing are .MOV from a canon 60d, and I'm editing with FinalCutPro7
on my brand new macbook pro. This is very urgent!

    Hi -
Did you convert the footage from your DSLR to a genuine editing codec like ProRes LT prior to editing, or are you attempting to edit the native camera files?
Click on any source clip from the camera and type Command + 9. Report the item properties, or if easier, just post a screen shot.
Then click anywhere on the timeline and type Command + 0 (zero) and report what the Sequence Settings are, or if easier, post a screen shot.
    Thanks

  • The screen of my iMac flashes green during boot-sequence, then returns to normal.

During the boot-sequence the screen of my Imac 27" flashes green (once), then returns to normal. This does not happen when I boot my Windows (Bootcamp) partition, so I assume this is some kind of OSX driver error. This started to happen only after I installed the latest patch (10.9.3). Did anybody else encounter this and/or knows how to get rid of it ?

    Hey fumanchu,
Did a small google search and found the following:
