Mail 2.1.3 download

My mail is acting up...quitting and not showing sent emails and just taking forever to send a simple text email. I keep getting spinning arrows and it's not my internet connection.
I want to download the program and can not find it on the apple site.
Is it available for download so I can get a fresh program?
Thanks in advance, michael

  • I have a new i phone 5 nad my mail is now constantly downloading, how can i stop this?

I have changed my work phone from an I phone 4s to I Phone 5. When I go to my mail it is always downloading and starts downloading emails from 2009. It takes a hours to download all the old emails and it takes hours for new emails to come through.
Then frustratingly it will do the same process all over again.
I have changed very possible setting but with no success.
The email come from my works server and is a microsoft exchange email account.
Please can someone help as this is really making life complicated.

Settings > Mail, Contacts, and Calendars > select the account > change the number of days to sync.

  • Mail won't stop downloading messages... and won't quit either...

It just started a few days ago. It has been working just fine, even after I upgraded to Tiger (which was several months ago, finally). Over the last few days, when I launch Mail.app, it downloads all the same messages that have been on the server since Friday and won't ever complete the download. It just spins and spins. SO, the messages are never officially retrieved and removed from my POP server (which is a setting I have turned on). If I force quit the app. Or even quit the process (which doesn't usually have any effect), I then relaunch Mail.app and it re-downloads all the messages. Now I have about 5 copies of all these messages. And I can't seem to just quit the app.
I read a post that involved trashing the inbox and reimporting it back in. I'm not sure if that is the approach here. OR, if I can infact, just delete a particular cache file or temp file, or something that might get the Mail.app un-stuck.
Any thoughts? Let me know if you need any more specifics.
    Thanks!

Mail 1.x used MessageUidsAlreadyDownloaded to keep track of which messages had already been downloaded from the server. Mail 2.x uses MessageUidsAlreadyDownloaded2 for the same purpose. It could be that there is something wrong with that file, or with your Inbox, but it could also be that Mail is choking on some troublesome message on the server. Let's try this first:
    1. Quit Mail.
    2. In the Finder, go to ~/Library/Mail/POP-username@mailserver/.
    3. Move the MessageUidsAlreadyDownloaded files to the Trash.
    4. Move INBOX.mbox to the Desktop (don't trash it), to be imported later.
As a result or removing the MessageUidsAlreadyDownloaded files, Mail will try to download everythng still on the server as if new. You can use the Account Info window first to remove from the server any messages you don't want to be downloaded again. In order to do that, choose Get Info (⌘I) from the Action menu (gear icon) located below the mailboxes list in the main Mail window -- type "Account Info" in the search field of Mail Help for more information on this feature.

  • Mail 2.1 re-downloads already downloaded POP mail!

I recently installed Mac OS 10.4.9 on a new Mac Pro tower and my older 15" G4 Powerbook. The OS comes with Apple Mail 2.1. The problem I'm having is with Mail 2.1 regarding retrieving POP mail from the Yahoo server that has already been downloaded. Since I don't routinely clear messages from the Yahoo server, repeating a download from scratch can mean over 9000 messages. This results in duplicate messages piling up in my INBOX.
Since I download POP mail to both of my computers, I don't want to clear the Yahoo server of mail.
How do I prevent Mail 2.1 from downloading already downloaded POP mail without clearing the server?
    Powerbook G4   Mac OS X (10.4.9)

The first time to download the messages was 2 weeks ago when I reformatted my G4 Powerbook with the new Mac OS 10.4.9. I then set up the Apple Mail 2.1 to retrieve messages from the Yahoo server. It downloaded all the messages just fine.
Then about 1 week later, when routinely checking for new mail, it started downloaded from the Yahoo server just as it had the first time (thereby creating dulicate copies of every mail message).
This has forced me to clear the Yahoo server, which I really didn't want to do.
This problem is not severe, I understand. But the older version of Mail never had this problem over 2+ years of use.

  • The past few days my Mail app has started downloading multiple copies of e-mails from all pop servers.  This is only happening on my Macbook not other macs.  Deleting mail from server does not help. I ran ClamXav found 2 viruses deleted problem continues

opps.  Long title there... The past few days my Mail app has started downloading multiple copies of e-mails from all pop servers.  This is only happening on my Macbook not other macs.  Deleting mail from server does not help. I ran ClamXav found 2 viruses deleted those.  Checked for software update and installed suggested downloads.  Problem still contintues.  Any suggestions?

    Folks,
even after having repaired the inbox folder under "properties" a few times, I still had some e-mails where the contents are different from the subject line.
In other words in the inbox there are two e-mails: one with subject line "abc", and another one with subject line "def".
When I display the e-mail with the subject line "abc", the contents are from the e-mail with the subject line "def" in the in-basket.
What else can be done to correct this problem?
    Thanks and best regards.

  • Mail will not stop downloading

    I have a flat screen iMac 800 w/ OS 10.3.9 and mail 1.3.11.
The mail continuously downloads nonstop. How do I stop this? If I delete the mail it just downloads the same stuff again. The server wil not let the mail be deleted by Mac mail once it is downloaded. I have a laptop with the same accounts and it behaves normally. Mail only downloads once on that computer. But that one has OS 10.4 on it.
    G4 Powerbook & iMac 800   Mac OS X (10.4.5)
    G4 Powerbook & iMac 800   Mac OS X (10.4.5)

    You're welcome.
my isp's mail will let my mail stay on the server for a very long
    time before it is deleted
This isn't strange. What's strange is that you cannot remove the messages from the server if you wish.
I did as you said to do in your last post and even emptied the trash
and did a restart. It still still wants to download over 8000 mails
    from the server.
As I said in my previous post, this was to be expected. Deleting MessageUidsAlreadyDownloaded causes Mail to treat everything still on the server as if new and try to download it again. What deleting MessageUidsAlreadyDownloaded is supposed to accomplish is to get rid of any corruption that might be causing Mail to download the same messages repeatedly.
I think that I may have to manually delete all the old mail on the server
    Definitely.
Having two machines downloading the same mail when one machine is seldom
used just isn't working it seems.
It should work, but you may need to clean up the server first.

  • Since updating to ios7 i can no longer partially download emails and this is using up all my data plan. How can I make Mail only be partially downloaded again?

Since updating to ios7 i can no longer partially download emails and this is using up all my data plan. How can I make Mail only be partially downloaded again?

YEA!  My jurryrig worked!  To all with this problem:
You CAN have podcasts in a regular playlist IF you convert them to a standard MP3 first.  So, yes, a lot of manual labor
The good news: if, like me, it is a track that you listen to frequently (in my case meditations for sleep and relaxation) then the time is worth it.  I will mess with automator later to see if there is anyway to script this!  Then, less work for me and more for my mac.
    Here are the steps:
Select the file from your Podcast folder.
Change all data you need -- "artist," "album" etc...
Make a copy of the cover art for this file by dragging it to the desktop.
Select the Advanced -> Convert ID3 Tags menu item.
Check ID3 tag version, and select "v1.0" from the drop-down menu.
Drag the file to the desktop (this will make a copy of the MP3 on the desktop)
Delete the file from the iTunes list.
Drag the copy of the file you have on the Desktop back into iTunes.
Search for the file in the Library, and add the cover art again to the file.
Now the file is out of the Podcasts folder and works like a regular MP3 file inside iTunes. You can re-add it back to playlists!

  • Mail won't stop downloading

Turned mail off, then on again, because my password wasn't being recognized.  When I turned it on again, the problem went away. BUT the phone kept downloading old mail for the next several hours and it's still downloading old mail.  How can I make it stop?

  • "mail has not been downloaded from the server" messages......

About 2 weeks ago I started seeing "mail has not been downloaded from the server" messages popping up when I attempt to both new mail and e-mails that I have already read. I usually don't have any problems when I first launch the program, but after a few minutes running I get this message when I try to open any e-mail.
The message from "---" <[email protected]> concerning “RE: S8-04 pps sample package” has not been downloaded from the server. You need to take this account online in order to download it.
I know that the program is running online because it continues to show me new e-mails that come in.
    What should I do?

Your OS detail provided indicates you are running 10.4.7 and Sasso's OS detail provided is 10.3.9.
The MBOX Breaker script does not work with Tiger mailboxes which are different from the mailbox structure used with previous Mail.app versions and the link you provided includes instructions for Jaguar or Panther Mail, not Tiger Mail. And depending on the size of the mailbox with Jaguar or Panther Mail, the MBOX Breaker Script may not be required.
If you are getting this message with Tiger Mail, this indicates you upgraded to Tiger from Jaguar or Panther on this Mac.
If so and if this Sent mailbox is for a POP type account, using the Finder go to Home > Library > Mail > this POP account named folder (named by the user name and incoming mail server for the account) > Sent Messages.mbox.
List all file and folder names available within the Sent Messages.mbox folder.

  • Mail.app keeps saving downloads to Mail Downloads rather than ~/Downloads

I've modified Mail.app preferences to save downloads in the main downloads folder, ~/Downloads. But every time I double click an attachment, it still downloads to the wrong folder, Mail Downloads, in a terribly nested directory, ~/Library/Containers/com.apple.mail/Data/Library/Mail Downloads.
I've tried restarting Mail.app, I've tried restarting Mac OS X, to no avail. This is starting to smell like a constant's set somewhere, instead of referring to the current application preference.

When you get an email with attachments, mail automatically unpacks attachments into those funky nested folders.  If you open the attachment directly that's what it opens, because it assumes that you just want to look at the attachment, not save it.  on the other hand, if you right-click and explicitly choose download it will download a copy into the downloads folder where you expect it.

  • Mail app not auto downloading my iCloud emails and then deleting them then sometimes

    Hi
Mail app on my mac book pro is suddenly not downlaoding my iclod emails whenthe app is open. I know when the emails come in cos my iphone pings and downloads it, but it never seems to arrive on the mail app. Sometimes It will download some of them if i go to mail and sync accounts option. But then sometimes I go to look for an email that was snt a week ago or a few days ago or something and sometimes it is no there, but I know it should be cos I have not deleted it cos it is still showing up on my ipad and iphone. I am up to date with my software. It is very annoying as I use the app for work as well.
ANy suggestions or help much appreicated
    thanks

I had the exact same problem. I went to Mail/Mailbox/Rebuild and that solved it. Check out this link. http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=121902

  • .mac account in Mail.app won't download mail - it freezes

I just screenshared my mother for about 4 hours (there is about a 20 second lag time between every click i enter and the response on her end, maddening!! but that's another story).
Her AOL IMAP accounts are working fine in Mail.app, but her .mac account is not. It will not download any new mail that is sitting on the server. It shows that non-beachball circle-line progress thing, nonstop.
Weirder still, I went on her screen, composed an email to myself, and sent it. The Mail Activity showed that it was sending at speeds like 5 kbps... for 10 minutes, until I force quitted. However, I got the email in my account seconds after I sent it. So SOMEHOW the outgoing email is working, even though it froze her own Mail.app in a perpetual "Sending" progress circle.
The application will not quit... it must be force quit every time. I tried deleting the .mac account and re-adding it. I deleted the plist. I verified that the connection doctor has all green lights and says it logged into the server successfully. I tried using SSL and not SSL connections. This was an issue in 10.5.2 and persists in 10.5.3. She is on DSL plugged straight into the computer. All other internet functionality seems to be working normally.
WHAT could possibly be making Mail screw up the .mac account, but not an AOL IMAP account?
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated

I went to settings > mail, contacts, calendars and did not find a notifications setting.  But that's not the issue.  When I open the mail app and force an update, new email is not downloaded, even though I can see new email on my computer.

  • Just paid $55.00 to get e-mail fixed after IOS download , how to get money back from Apple?

After IOS download 2weeks ago, I could not send any mail. Do not have warranty, it is 13 months old.  I paid a computer expert $55.00 to fix it.  I think Apple should give me an ITunes card worth that amount.  what do you think?

I think you are responsible for the $55. It was your choice to pay someone. A software glitch is NOT covered by any warranty, period.
