Mail 3.6 Click on a message and it goes to trash or disappears totally

I just upgraded my old G5 iMac 20 inch to the new iMac 24 inch. It has the latest updates which is 10.5.7 and Mail 3.6. Now I have been having problems with mail. When I go to click on a message to open it, the message will quickly disappear. Most of the time I will find it in the trash. A couple of times it will disappear totally. It doesn't happen on every message, maybe one in 20 or so messages I try to open. Another thing I notice is that when I click on some messages instead of showing the message in the preview pane it will open the message up in full screen. I can't seem to get any info on this, and before I call Apple I would hope somebody out there has been experiencing this too and might have an answer. All my settings for my mail accounts seem to be right and I checked everything in preferences and it seems OK also. My G5 iMac never had any issues with mail.

Whoa, was your email exposed on a public forum/TV show?
First I would sign out of Mail right away.
Second I would go to your email's website and sign into there. Examples... icloud.com, hotmail.com, yahoo.com and whatever you use. Just to see if it's happening there. If it is happening there, then I strongly suggest changing your email address and whatever website you used it on for login information.
If it's not happening there, then hopefully when you sign back into Mail it won't happen again. If it does happen again, let us know. I wouldn't be able to help but maybe someone else could.

I am using Robo Form like I have for years and when I click on a website to open it goes there and puts in the username and password and opens in a new tab but Robo Form stays on top and Firefox is underneath it and it used to automatically go to Firefox and put it on top and now it doesnt do that anymore.

On my ipad mini, when I delete an email from the inbox (and it goes into Trash), it immediately deletes that email from the server (ATT/Yahoo). I've called support for both ATT and Apple and can't find a way to have the emails remain on the server.

[The curious thing is, if I "move" the deleted emails from Trash on my iPad Mini into the Inbox, I can go to my notebook, open my online email and they are back in my ATT/Yahoo Inbox.]

I have to double click to read message and see pictures

I hit something and it change how I see my mail. Before the mail would come in and I'd click once. The mail was opened and stayed open. Same with sent mail. I could see the message or picture after I sent it. Now I just have columns of names where the emails came from. To see the picture or the message I have to double click and the message or picture (attachment) opens up in a little box. I'd like to go back and I'm sure it is simple to do. Thanks

Mail 2.0 crashing when sending message and opening mailbox

I've had a weird problem for a few weeks now that I've finally replicated.
I have about 7 accounts that are all active. Mail stops responding when I compose a message and click "send" and then go to another mailbox. It starts to open the mailbox, and starts to send the message (sometimes completing the send), but hangs in the Beach Ball of Death state. I force quit, and reopen. The mailbox selected opens with no problem, and then the message sends (sometimes twice if it actually completed before the crash.)
I have tried reducing the mailbox sizes of every inbox and outbox involved to almost nothing, rebuilding indexes, removing attachments, etc. Nothing seems to work.
iBook G4 12" Mac OS X (10.4.5)

Ohhhhh, if you have something to fix it... I'd be most grateful! Mailtags rocks my world, and I'd be lost without it.

Everytime i start mail, it tries to download 840 messages and sticks at 22.

this only happens on my macbook. my other macs in the house are not doing this. it's driving me nuts. please help.

Please, give more details. What's your account type ? have you stopped using Mail on that Mac for reasonable amount of time to have 800+ messages on the servers and not on the Mac ? what happens when it is stuck at message #22 ? it might be a message with some big file attach that would take some time to download.

Hotmail loads and i can see my inbox and messages, but when i click on a message nothing happens. Has anyone else had this problem? Any suggestions on how to fix?

I have Mail set up with an IMAP account and for about a week now it has failed to import any of my messages. To make matters worse, it is in a constant state of processing and it refuses to close.
It appears that Mail is stubbornly trying, and constantly failing, to import a message from the server. How do I put an end to this vicious cycle without deleting the account from Mail? (I don't want to risk losing all of my organized folders or any other data for that matter).
Here's what Console is showing:

The option to take apps full screen is still available. Here are the steps on this feature in Yosemite.
Take apps full screen
In many apps, you can expand the window to fill your entire screen. While in full-screen view, swipe to see another app’s full-screen window, to see your desktop, or to see a space you created.
Expand to full-screen view: Click the green full-screen button in the top-left corner of an app window, or press Control-Command (⌘)-F.
Move between windows in full-screen view: Swipe left or right on a trackpad or Magic Mouse. For more information, see Learn trackpad and mouse gestures.
Return to standard view: Move the pointer to the top-left corner of the screen, then click the green full-screen button again, or press Control-Command (⌘)-F.

TS3276 I have two email accounts set up on Mail. One shows the unread messages and the other one doesn't... how can I get it to show both account's unread messages?

I have two email accounts set up on my Mail application. Both pull in and send just fine but ever since I upgrade the exchange sever and re-setup the account It won't show the unread (number) to the right of the inbox? The other one shows up just fine. Any clues would be great! Thank you.

Inbox Doesn't Show New Mail Until I Click Out of Inbox and Click Back In

Hello, I originally posted this in the Microsoft Community, but I was told to post here instead. HELP!!! Nobody I know seems to have an answer for this.
I have Outlook 2010 connected to Exchange (work email). Whenever I get new mail, I have to click out of the Inbox and then click back in, in order to see and open my new mail. I do receive the pop-up notification in the lower right hand corner, and
I receive the "(1)" notification next to "Inbox" on the left side menu (that's how I know when I have new mail), but no actual email shows in the Reading/Window Pane. It's like I have to refresh my Inbox.
The problem does not exist with any of my Inbox subfolders - only the Inbox itself.
When I had my department help desk remote in, the problem ceased (making me sound crazy), but when the technician logged off remote access, boom, the problem was back.
I've searched the internet, contacted my help desk multiple times, and deleted and re-created my Outlook profile, but nothing has worked so far.
Any insight into this issue would be greatly appreciated, as this problem is a pain!

Please check whether you can see the items in your Inbox using Online mode or Outlook Web Access or Outlook Web App (OWA). If you just cannot see them in your Cached mode profile, please start Outlook using the following command-line (Click
Start and then click Run) to have a try:

Mail says I have 5 unread messages, and yet I do not.

Just updated my iPhone 5 to iOS 7, and the software seems to think that I have 5 unread messages. I tried running through all the mail, restarted it, and then hard reset it. Still shows 5 unread. Any suggestions?

I had the same issue. Turns out I had my mac open and the mail was being pulled there but not on my phone. I deleted the messages on my mac and the indicator went away. It could be a bug, I would submit feedback if that is the case http://www.apple.com/feedback/. That is probably what I will do.

When I open my mail app it shows that I have unread mail, so I click mark all read and carry on my business. About 2 seconds later all the mail I just marked comes back unread. This keeps happening, what can I do?

Everytime I get a new email, I open the mail app and mark it as read. Recently, whenever I receive emails I mark them all read yet 2 seconds later they are all marked unread. I again mark them all read and the same thing happens. I now have 95 emails from 2 weeks ago that I clearly marked read but they won't stay read. What can I do?

Shut down and restart the app...
- From any Home Screen, double tap the home button to bring up the Recents List
- Tap and hold any icon in this list until they wiggle
- Press the red to delete the offending app from this list.
- Press the home button twice when done.
- Restart the app
