Mail 3 in Leopard unable to send mail ??

Hi, i have set the mail configuration like in mail 2.0, but my IMAP account now in mail 3.0 with Leopard is unable to sent mail because :: The SMTP server “smtp.unil.ch” doesn’t support TLS (SSL) on port 25. Please check your account settings and try again.
I don't know if in mail 3 there are many changes, but i don't have this problem with mail 2.0. thks!!!!

iPhoto doesn't support pdf files.  It never has.  There used to be a feature in the older systems that would save a pdf as a jpeg file to iPhoto.  Here's how to reestablish that capability:
Here's how to get any file into iPhoto as a jpeg file:
1 - open the file in any application that will open it.
2 - type Command+P to start the print process.
3  - click on the PDF button and select "Save PDF to iPhoto".
NOTE:  If you don't have any of those options go to Toad's Cellar and download these two files:
Save PDF to iPhoto 200 DPI.workflow.zip
Save PDF to iPhoto 300 DPI.workflow.zip
Unzip the files and place in the HD/Library/PDF Services folder and reboot.
4 - select either of the files above (300 dip is used for photos to be included in a book that will be ordered).
5 - in the window that comes up enter an album name or select an existing album and hit the Continue button.
That will create a 200 or 300 dpi jpeg file of the item being printed and import it into iPhoto.

  • Leopard unable to send folders to a samba share

    We are currently experiencing a problem trying to copy a pro tools project onto one of our servers via a samba share on the server. When we try to copy/move a directory finder reports that it does not have sufficiant privalages to do so.
    But when we selected individual files inside the directory tree and copied them, they all went over fine and where able to create directories on the server from the client.
    I then used terminal and ls -la to view the contents of the directories and discovered there were a fair few hidden temporary files. All belong to the correct user as far as samba is concerned, but some had the "@", Extended attributes flag attatched. I am able to interrogate them using xattr which shows com.apple.<this part varies> I'm unsure completely what com. files represent, as I am generally a linux user (sorry apple! but hey we're both unixy..)
    Does anyone know of a fix, or if this is a common problem? or any way I can stop osx from spuriously creating these hidden files? or am I going to havto script something.. umm.. somewhere.
    Oh, the server is running Fedora Linux, and the client is an Imac running OSX Leopard.
    Any information would be greatly appreciated!

    I am having difficulty finding a sollution to this problem.

    do you get error -36 or error -50? there are several bugs related to that in snow leopard finder. not sure which one is affecting you. try this link first

    next, see this post. It could be a problem with split resource forks for hidden .DS_Store files if it only affects folders

    We purchased a new iPad2 and registered it using a 'new' iCloud email/ID. We are unable to send email from the iPad and iPhone. The error is:>> Cannot send mail. The user name or password for iCloud is incorrect.

    About ~20 hours later, this ended up solving itself. We can send email using the '.icloud' email from both the iPad and iPhone.  Advise would be 'wait' before you start seeking alteranatives like yahoo, hotmail, etc.  This definitely is a convenient way to keep all your 'cloud' information in a centralized place, including the common email...

  • Unable to send Mail from POP account

    I have an Iphone 4 and have upgraded the IOS from 5-1 to 6.1.3. Since then I have been receiving all my mails but i have been unable to send mails from my POP account. the notification "Cannot Send Mail. A copy has been placed in your Outbox. The receipient, "xxyyzz @ gmail . com " was rejected by the server" displayed. Please Help. the same thing happens when I configure my POP account on my Son's Iphone4, and there is no problem in receiving and sending mails from my Outlook. Please Help!!!!!
    Can i revert back to IOS5.1.1?????

    Contact your email provider and get the correct settings to use for the outgoing mail server (SMTP) on a mobile device. If it's email provided by your ISP, they have likely blocked email from outside their network from relaying to prevent spam.

  • Unable to SEND mail using Activesync in Exchange 2010 server on iPhone or Windows Mobile 6.1

    Hi All,
    We've been setting up a new SBS 2011 server for a client this week. Everything is working, except the staff have 4 x iPhones to connect with Exchange ActiveSync.
    There are 2 x iPhone 4's and 2 x iPhone 3Gs's. We can setup the Exchange accounts on each of the phones and they are all able to sync mail and calender etc with the server.
    The problem we have is when any of them try to send mail from the phone, it gives an error : "Cannot Send Mail - An error occurred while delivering this message" and it sits in the outbox on the phone.
    The newsgroups and forums are littered with people having issues with IOS4 and Exchange 2010 but most of these are from June-August 2010 when IOS4 version was around 4.00 or 4.01
    A lot of these people had iPhone 3 handsets running with IOS 3.1.3 which worked with Exchange 2010 but when they upgraded to IOS 4, they had this problem sending mail.
    It seems that for most of them, the fix came in the form of IOS version 4.1 which fixed the send issue for them.
    We have a variety of Hansets and IOS versions (including an iPhone 3Gs running IOS 3.1.3) but are unable to send mail from any of them:
    iPhone 3Gs    IOS 3.1.3
    iPhone 3Gs    IOS 4.3.3
    iPhone 4       IOS 4.3.3
    iPhone 4       IOS 4.3.5
    I was surprised that the iPhone 3Gs running 3.1.3 was unable to send either as nearly all the forums etc I read with this issue said the iPhone 3's worked with that IOS version.
    Today we used a test iPhone 4 handset from our office to connect to an almost identical Small Business Server 2011 we setup two weeks ago for another client.
    The test iPhone 4 was able to connect, Sync and Send email on that server but when set it to connect to this SBS 2011 server, it gets the "Cannot Send Mail" message the same as the others. So clearly the handset is working (on the other server at least),
    it must be something misconfigured in this Exchange server right?
    We ran the Exchange Remote Connectivity Analyser on the Exchange server and got green ticks across the board.
    Outlook Web App and Outlook Anywhere both work normally. Everything we can test on the Exchange server works except sending from any iPhone.
    Having said all that, I just setup a Windows Mobile 6.1 handset to sync with the Exchange 2010 server as a test, and it appears to have the same issue.
    It will connect & Sync Mail, Contacts and Calendar but if trying to send an email from the phone, it will just sit in the outbox.
    Does anyone have some insight into what the problem may be?

    Further to this .. I found the solution on a MS Exchange 2010 support forum.
    It was not a certificate or firewall issue, looks as thought the “Accepted Domains” in Exchange Mgmt Console –
    Org Config – Hub Transport cannot have any spaces in the name field.
    I had some spaces and the emails were not downloading fully and able to send. Once I removed the spaces from the Name field and
    restarting the Exchange and IIS services emails were now being sent and received ok.

  • E72- Unable to send e-mail from work mailbox

    I am unable to send e-mails from my work e-mail through my E72 although it receives perfectly. I have been in contact with Nokia via e-mail for the last 2 weeks and they have sent several suggestions to solve the issue but nothing is working. I have set-up my work e-mail on my husbands Blackberry  with the same settings and can receive and send perfectly. From that I conclude there is no issue with the settings I have or my work e-mail but with
    Nokia!! The latest 'help' I have received was to download a patch but I have no idea how to do this and get it onto my phone. So far Nokia have not replied to me.
    Any suggestions how to get this to work would be greatly appreciated

    If you're using a much older firmware, updating the phone would be a good idea.  Find the Software Updates section of nokia.com and type your phone model.  If you can't do an over-the-air update, download and install either the OVI Suite or the standalone Software Updater.  This may hard reset the phone, so back up anything important with OVI Suite first.
    Ignoring firmware for now, IMAP and URL's are like apples and oranges.  If you work for a small company, the server may always be called " mail.mycompany.com", but IMAP will never use an HTTP or HTTPS prefix.  URL's are typically associated with Microsoft Exchange servers.  Within the email program, check Options -> Settings -> Mailbox settings -> Mailbox settings -> Advanced mailbox settings.  Are "Outgoing email settings" set to something like
    User authentication: Same as for incoming
    Outgoing mail server: <compare to the setting for the Incoming server name; in a small company this will likely be the same>
    Since you're getting far enough for the mail sever to reject your connection, the other settings should be fine as-is.
    It does look like an authentication issue, so I'd say you're either hitting the wrong server or there's a bad username or password in there somewhere.  If the Blackberry works with an IMAP connection, then you should be using the same server name(s), and user/password.
    If all else fails, you can always try removing and readding the mailbox completely.  Choose Menu -> Applications -> Email -> Settings -> <highlight your work account> -> Options -> Remove mailbox.  And then set it up from scratch.  I hope that helps a little!

  • I am unable to send mail from my Orange.fr account on my ipad add

    Orange.fr lost personal data on Sunday, so I decided to change the password on my mail account which I did successfully can pick up and send mail via Thunderbird on my PC.  However, I had to delete my orange account from the mail application as it would let me change the password in settings.  I can now receive mail OK, but I an unable to send as I get the message that "That the username or password for "SMPT (email address)@smtp.orange.fr" is incorrect.  I have checked the server settings against those on Orange.fr website, and they are correct.   Any ideas what the problem is?

    Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)
    Or this - Delete the account in Mail and then set it up again. Settings->Mail, Contacts, Calendars -> Accounts   Tap on the Account, then on the red button that says Remove Account.

  • Why am I unable to send e mails from my IPhone or IPad and get message rejected from outgoing server, message placed in outbox

    Why am I unable to send e mails from my iPhone, and get message rejected by server and message put in outbox.  I have tried changing server ports but to no avail.  I am not very technically minded so any suggestions in laymans terms please.  This is a big problem as I work away frequently and need to answer e mails.  This also happens when at home and on my own wifi.

    I am unable to Send E-mail via Default mail app in my iphone. IOS7, i have account of icloud, Gmail, Microsoft all the account are well added, i can recieve e-mails but the massage i send is never sent

    Turns out this was a simple set up error for me, although i'd set up mobile me to sync my e mails I had never set up my outgoing message server. Therefore, if I received a message from me.com I could reply no problem, however if the message came from aol.com I couldn't reply.

    What's wrng with that code snipnet?
    Nagaraju G.

    This works fine with me, try it or compare it if you want.
    public void sendEmail( String from, String to,
    String subject, String body) {
    fMailServerConfig.put("mail.smtp.host", " <<mail server>>");
    Session session = Session.getDefaultInstance( fMailServerConfig, null );
    MimeMessage message = new MimeMessage( session );
    try {
    message.setFrom(new InternetAddress(from));
    message.setRecipient(Message.RecipientType.TO,
    new InternetAddress(to));
    message.setSubject( subject);
    message.setText( body);
    //Adds Attechment:
    Multipart multipart = new MimeMultipart();
    BodyPart messageBodyPart = new MimeBodyPart();
    messageBodyPart.setText("Here are my attachments");
    multipart.addBodyPart(messageBodyPart);
    messageBodyPart = new MimeBodyPart();
    //first attachment
    DataSource source = new FileDataSource("C:\\img1.jpg");
    messageBodyPart.setDataHandler(new DataHandler(source));
    messageBodyPart.setFileName("C:\\Telnor1.jpg");
    multipart.addBodyPart(messageBodyPart);
    //Second attachment
    DataSource source2 = new FileDataSource("C:\\img2.jpg");
    messageBodyPart.setDataHandler(new DataHandler(source2));
    messageBodyPart.setFileName("C:\\Telnor2.jpg");
    multipart.addBodyPart(messageBodyPart);
    //etc...
    message.setContent(multipart);
    Transport.send( message );
    }catch (MessagingException e){
    System.err.println("Cant send mail. " + e);
    The error on your code might be:
    BodyPart messageBodyPart1=new MimeBodyPart();
    DataSource source1=new FileDataSource(filename1);
    messageBodyPart.setDataHandler(new DataHandler(source1));
    messageBodyPart.setFileName(filename1);
    multipart.addBodyPart(messageBodyPart1);
    You don't need to create a new BodyPart, and apart from that you'r seting values on "messageBodyPart" but adding "messageBodyPart1" to your multipart :P
    Well see u and have a good one!
    p.s. i know it's a little late from the day you posted, but at least it might help somebody else :D .

  • I'm unable to send mail please can someone help me fix it

    I have suddenly started to get an error message when sending some of my mail it is telling me to go to my "Temporary Directory Settings" as it's unable to send through C:\Users\Tina\AppData\Local\Temp\nsmail.tmp
    I have tried unticking my email attachments in my anti virus as I was told to do the last time I had a problem, but to no avail. Please can someone help me fix this and preferably in step by step form ?

    I suggest you contact McAfee for instructions. I don't use their product and a year after it started making life hard for Thunderbird users i am sure they can offer constructive workarounds.

  • Unable to send mail on ipad

    I am unable to send email to a specific address from my iPad. I can send from iPhone and iMac this address. Any ideas.  Just updated all mobil devices to iOS 7.0.6 but the problem still exists.

    I solved my problem by entering user name and password in the outgoing server fields in my mail account. It says they are optional but not for me.

  • Unable to send mail, can receive mail

    I'm working on my mother's computer. It's sent mail just fine. All of a sudden it can't send any mail, receives mail just fine. I've been reading previous posts. I tried entering port 587 in the server port. I changed use authentication to password, checked user name, and password. We get an error message that mail is unable to send and will remain in the outbox. This time after we changed to the port 587when we tried to send a message: we got a message to re enter our password. It never asked that before.
    We plan on checking with verizon tomorrow to see if they can help from their end. I hate being caught in these loops, my guess is they'll say it's the computer. Can anyone help us?? What else can we do? We have 6 messages sitting in the outbox unable to send any.

    Unless Verizon's SMTP server requires and supports authentication, changing the authentication from None to Password will have no effect.
    Try deleting and re-creating Verizon's SMTP server and if there are any SMTP servers available to choose from not being actively used by any account, delete those.

  • Unable to send mail via Secure SMTP

    Our email system allows users access to their accounts via secure IMAP and SMTP.
    I am able to connect and view my inbox via secure IMAP, using a number of different S60 devices - namely E72, E52 and 5800.
    However I am unable to connect to send via secure SMTP.
    By contrast, I am able to view and send mail with Apple and Android devices without any problems.
    On my comparable UAT configuration the S60 devices do not have this problem.
    On UAT, we use a self-signed certificate, as opposed to the Live system which uses a Verisign certificate.
    Help, please!
    I'd like to be able to send mail with my S60 devices.
    How can I resolve this apparent problem with the certificate?
    Echo

    An Update of sorts.
    On my E72 I removed all references to Verisign under: Ctrl. panel -> Settings -> General -> Security -> Certificate management -> Authority certificates. (There were about 6 entries)
    I tried to connect afresh, but the phone took two attempts to pick up my password for email.
    I now have a 'Trusted site certificate' for the email server.
    However, I still can't send.  A message pops up 'Unable to send message: <target address>'

    The server "smtp.mac.com" refused to allow a connection on port 25.
    I can connect to webmail of course and send mail that way.
    I receive mail perfectly.
    Not sure what to do...??
    Thank you for any help with this.
