Mail 4.4 wont open with my 10.6.8 OS

Backed up Mail 4.4 from Time Machine but now running 10.6.8. Now when I open Mail it says it is not compatible with the OS. Already tried reinstalling the 10.6.8 update but no mail package inside and I installed the supplement pack as well with no luck. Does anyone know how I can get Mail back up and running? Cannot find a download for it anywhere, and am trying to avoid a full re install since I just did that a week ago. Any way to get Mail 4.5 with a reinstall? Thanks!

1. Try Right mouse click iTunes icon and select "Run as Administrator". Does it open now?
2. If not, check if this file APSDaemon.exe is the problem here.
Close your iTunes.
Press Ctrl-Alt-Del key and choose Task Manager. In the "Processes" Tab, select the file APSDaemon.exe and click End Prosses button, then close the task manager window.
Now open itunes and see if it is working?
If that works, to prevent having to do the same process everytime you restart Windows, go to. START button, type in
MSCONFIG
Hit ENTER
Click STARTUP Tab, Uncheck "Apple Push", click OK.
Restart Windows.
3. If step 2 fails, refer to following article to remove SC files:

Boot from your recovery partition (command-R at startup) and select Get Help Online. Safari will launch. Is it slow?

Itune wont open with iphone attached

iTunes wont open when I attach my iPhone to the computer with the same USB ccable I have been using. I can open iTunes then all works fine. In iTunes the option to open iTunes when phone is attached is clicked on.

You'll have to disable the "Prevent iPods, iPhones, and iPads from syncing automatically" option before you can choose to have iTunes open when the iPhone is connected.

AVCHD wont open with Quicktime player

I'm using the sony handy cam. Plugged it into the computer and tried selecting all four options on the camcorder (USB connect... etc.) two of them came up with a file AVCHD. I clicked on it and it opened a new window that appeared to be loading, and then a pop up came and said cannot open, with a exclamation point with quicktime app photo. Mail messages do not open with double click

Worked before, but lately Mail does not open my messages from the inbox with a double click. Have to use the menu to open a message or read in preview pane.
Have checked for upgrades and reindexed the messages.
Mac OS 10.6.8

That sounds very like an issue with your mouse/trackpad and not iPhoto. Go to your SystemPreferences and chck the speed you've set for double clicking

Open source shopping cart wont open with safari

Hi all...
I'm designing cart templates for a company that supplies an interface for uploading product to an open source shopping cart. The problem is I can't open the shopping carts with safari. They are fine with firefox and on a PC. (forgive me for swearing) The sites are open source carts based on php scripting with a lot of compressed data. A software interface is used to upload products etc... The error I get is
"Safari can’t open the page “not sure if I can put the link here as it is a business”. The error was: “bad server response” (NSURLErrorDomain:-1011) Please choose Report Bug to Apple..."
It's the same for all the sites using the carts.
Is there a fix at the user end or does safari simply not have support for these carts. Any help would be awesome....

PCI Compliance. As a merchant (online or brick & mortar store), you must take necessary steps to ensure your customer's CC info doesn't fall into the wrong hands. Server Security. Use a reliable web host. I can't emphasize this enough. Cheap hosting is no bargain especially if your host doesn't take reasonable steps to secure their servers at their end.
Lock down your php scripts & form log-ins to defend your site against possible hackers & robot exploitation. If your site is ever compromised, you will need reliable backups of your Site files and MySql data. Make sure to backup these files regularly and store them in a safe place.
Backend log-in. Use strong, encrypted passwords -- 17 characters, upper & lower case with symbols. If you can remember your passwords, they're not strong enough. I keep mine written down in a Rolodex.
Change the Admin log-in name to something less obvious like GrandHighExhaltedMysticRuler or something only you will recognize as the site's admin level user. It's also a good idea to change your server, database and backend log-ins regularly.

You need to re-install:
To re-install iPhoto
1. Put the iPhoto.app in the trash (Drag it from your Applications Folder to the trash)
2a: On 10.5: Go to HD/Library/Receipts and remove any pkg file there with iPhoto in the name.
2b: On 10.6: Those receipts may be found as follows: In the Finder use the Go menu and select Go To Folder. In the resulting window type
/var/db/receipts/
2c: on 10.7 they're at
/private/var/db/receipts
A Finder Window will open at that location and you can remove the iPhoto pkg files.
3. Re-install.
If you purchased an iLife Disk, then iPhoto is on it.
If iPhoto was installed on your Mac when you go it then it’s on the System Restore disks that came with your Mac. Insert the first one and opt to ‘Install Bundled Applications Only.
If you purchased it on the App Store or have a Recent Mac you can find it in your Purchases List.

In order to help resolve this issue where your iTunes application will not launch on your Mac, I'd like you to please follow the directions in the article below to reinstall iTunes.
Download the latest installer
Open Safari or another web browser.
Go to the iTunes download webpage and click the Free Download button.
Make sure that the Mac OS X version is selected on that page.
Click the Download button to start the download.
Once the file is downloaded, a new Finder window appears containing two items (below). If a Finder window doesn't appear, locate the iTunesX.dmg file (where X is the iTunes version number) on the desktop (or wherever your downloads go) and double-click it to display these items:
A "Read Before You Install iTunes" file. This document contains the system requirements for the version of iTunes, and may contain other useful information about installing.
An iTunes.mpkg file (this is the installer file itself).
Install iTunes
Quit iTunes if it is currently open.
Double-click the iTunes.mpkg file. This opens the Installer application in Mac OS X.
Follow the instructions in the installer screens. If all of the installation components appear unchecked and dimmed (unavailable, and therefore not installable), refer to Mac OS X iTunes installer components are disabled.
After the installation has completed, quit the Installer and restart the computer. The new version of iTunes appears on your hard disk in your Applications folder.
Opening iTunes
It's possible that clicking the iTunes icon in your Dock or double-clicking an iTunes icon on your desktop could open an older version of iTunes. Open iTunes from the Applications folder to be sure you are opening the right version:
Double-click your hard disk.
Double-click the Applications folder.
Double-click the iTunes icon.
If you notice another copy of iTunes in the Dock after following these steps, here's a way to take care of that:
Quit iTunes.
Drag the iTunes icon out of the Dock.
Drag the iTunes icon from the Applications folder to the Dock.

Absolutely. I have done everything in the online forums under the trouble shooting section. Restarted my computer, restarted the phone, switched usb ports, performed a hard reset on the phone, nothing has changed. When I plug my phone in, my computer is registering it in the my computer section but when I run the diagnostic tests in Itunes it says it cannot locate the phone. I actually tried to download Itunes 8, the one I had when it was working, and no luck, it said something about having to use the newest version.

It was probably created in CS3. One of the features used in CS3 is cell styles (surprise!)
Have the person who created the file export an INX (InDesign Interchange file). You can open it if you have the latest version of CS2. (However, the cell styles won't be cell styles anymore.)
