Mail 5.3 OS X 10.7.5 Settings Problems
I am having a real problem with this version of Mail.
1. I cannot get my saved mail to show "To" who it was addressed. What is the setting I need?
2. In an attempt to find "To" I expanded the Headers. Now I cannot figure out how to Collapse the Headers. What is the setting I need?
3. I tried to make a Smart Mailbox, but It only collects the incoming Mail from the individual, it does not collect the sent Mail to the same person. I've tried setting the Rules to "Entire Message" and also built two Rules one for outgoing and one for incoming. The Smart mailbox only collects the incoming and misses all outgoing. What am I doing wrong? (I never had this problem with the old version of Mail)

the settings are gone, i guess. But even worse, I cannot get the iPad2 to play Full HD thru the Apple digital AV adaptor using apps that support (and advertise this), like AVPlayer HD. This definiteley used to work before one of the last iOS upgrades. (I am now at 5.1.1). -
My boyfriend knew my apple id and my password and when we broke up he changed it and he changed my alternate e-mail address so i cannot restore it. The problem is that my iPhone activation is linked to iCloud. What can i do? I have old password and old alternate e-mail.

Is there a way to create a PDF from outlook e-mail that does not embed the attachment? better, is there a way to convert the e-mail with attachement (not embeded) as pdf pages?
- Problem: I have 1400 e-mails with attachments that need to be converted into pdf and the attachments cannot be embeded.

There is an option of embedding index for faster search while converting email to a PDF .
However I am not sure that will serve your purpose or not .
I would recommend you to get in touch with Microsoft support as well .

After installing the new Yosemite OS on my iMac I can no longer send email. I can receive email, but not send. I use gmail and can send email on the gmail (google) site, but not on "mail" on my iMac. Any others with this problem? What should we do?
My gmail, which is correctly configured for Mail with gmail SMTP and Google IMAP, works for awhile on Mail, which I leave open while working on other applications. But several times a day I get msg from Google: "We recently blocked a sign-in attempt to your Google Account" . . . and requiring me to verify my account details, re-enter passwords, confirm security settings (or change them from "disable" to "enable less secure methods" and so on). In Mail I also have tried "taking all accounts online", and re-entering my gmail password inside Mail account settings. These steps successfully re-set comms between gmail and Mail ... for awhile, then it happens again. Enough occurrences over a work day that I just quit Mail and revert to accessing gmail directly. Apple Care advisor and an Apple knowledge base article say that Apple can't deal with this, as gmail is third-party app, and they refer me to gmail, and so far I've found nothing helpful there.
From today I also have several instances of a window saying "Mail has unexpectedly closed" and asking me to Re-open it.
I also use Yahoo mail, which stops working with Mac Mail at the same time as gmail, but I do not receive notices to re-verify from Yahoo.
I recently upgraded from Mavericks to Yosemite. The Mail problem happened occasionally with Mavericks but is far more frequent with Yosemite. -
I have installed OS X Mavericks on macbook pro, macbook air & iMac but I am having terrible trouble with apple Mail. I need to take all accounts online frequently OR worse I have to quit mail and restart computer. Is anyone else having problems?
I just checked to see if the update to OS X Yosemite 10.10.1 solved any of the issues outlined in my previous post, and to my dismay, nothing has changed -- all of the previous problems persist.
My iMac (8) -- it's renamed itself eight times since the recent troubleshoot with the Apple tech rep -- shows up as a shared device in Finder on my MacBook Pro, but when I click on it, I cannot establish a connection using "Connect As". So I've attempted to connect using the menu "Go/Connect to Server...", using both (alternately) the iMac's name and IP address, to no avail. I get a message which reads: "There was a problem connecting to the server 'Peter's iMac (8)'. This server may not exist or it is unavailable at this time. Check the server name or IP address, check your network connection, and then try again."
Here's what I know:
The server -- Peter's iMac (8) does exist;
The server -- Peter's iMac (8) is available at this time;
The server name -- Peter's iMac (8) -- is correct, as specified in the system sharing preferences;
The server IP address is correct, as specified in the system sharing preferences;
The network connection is active when I attempt to connect.
I'm convinced the problems stem directly from the OS X Yosemite update. None of this was ever remotely an issue in the previous OS X's -- any of them. This is maddening! What can be done? Apple?? Anyone??? -
I am not able to Mobile Me email account to connect with iCloud or my Apple Mail program. Don't know if my settings are correct or not. Can anyone help me with this please?

Firefox is my browser. Until recently, I was able to open my virgin e.mails ok. Now I can't. I haven't made any setting changes. I can open my Yahoo mail ok, just not my virgin mail. Virgin tell me its a browser (incompatibility) problem. I can open my Virgin mail if I use Internet Explorer. I can get to my Virgin mail page ok, I can see I have mail etc., it just won't let me open that mail. All I get to see is the title of the mail but no content.

Quit Mail. Force quit if necessary.
Back up all data. That means you know you can restore the Mail database, no matter what happens.
Triple-click the line below on this page to select it:
~/Library/Mail/V2/MailData/Envelope Index
Copy the selected text to the Clipboard (command-C). In the Finder, select
Go ▹ Go to Folder
from the menu bar. Paste into the box that opens (command-V), then press return.
A Finder window will open with a file selected. Move the selected file to the Desktop, leaving the window open. Other files in the folder may have names that begin with "Envelope Index". Move those files, if any, to the Trash.
Log out and log back in. Relaunch Mail. It should prompt you to re-import your messages. You may get a warning that the index is corrupt and that Mail has to quit. Click OK.
Test. If Mail now works as expected, you can delete the file you moved to the Desktop. Otherwise, post your results. -
Yahoo mail on nokia c6 don't have advance settings
Hi,
I am able to configure Gmail and Yahoo mailbox on nokia C6.
FYI - first I configured Gmail and then Yahoo mail.
Both worked fine for first couple of days (mainly I was able receive and send the emails)
After some days Yahoo mailbox stopped receiving mails.
When I tried to check the settings of both , I found that Yahoo mail box don't have the advanced account settings in which we configure the Incoming and out going servers. Gmail still have these settings.
My understanding -
As for some initial days I was able to receive Yahoo mails my account setting must be ok ,
There is no problem yet with Gmail.
Neither it is an issue of access point - gmail works on both access points, but Yahoo don't on any.
Only one observation is after creating the mailbox on C6 , I may have logged into same Yahoo account from my desktop, I suppose after this it stopped receiving any mails. Also I can't sent mails from Yahoo mailbox. In parallel for gmail I can still log into the email from desktop as well as from my mobile.
Please help if any of you have solve the problem.

mak_c6Do you have an AT&T email account? They use Yahoo for email service. Anything with att, sbc, sbcglobal, ameritech, etc is actually a Yahoo account.

In preparing for iCloud storage to be reduced to 5GB, I have deleted all my emails (via internet to iCloud) including all inboxes, sent mail, archived etc. HOWEVER my iPhone (under Settings>iCloud>Storage and Backup>Manage Storage says I have 8.5 GB. Please help!

Since a few weeks TB started migrating many of my incoming mails to the junk box. Disabling all settings regarding unwanted mail (in preferences as well as in account settings), does not help. New mails keep arriving in the junk box instead of the In box. Is it a bug? How can I fix it?
Most likely the messages ending up in the junk folder have been moved there by your provider's spam filter. You may check via webmail if you can tune the provider filter. There's not much else you can do other than regularly checking for false positives.
Alternatively you can switch off the provider filter and train the Thunderbird built-in filter.

my macbook pro running 10.7.3 froze and would not start .. using my time machine back up I installed a back up from 14 days ago ... now I find I dont have any utilities, mail, Ical system preferences .. anyone else have this problem?
If your ipad is less than 1 year old, take it in to an apple store and they should replace it for free

My campus mail, which is accessed through Outlook, frequently boots me out. I must copy and save every message, because I cannot predict when it will go through and when I will be thrown out. I have set my Preferences to allow pop-ups from ctuonline.edu and from campus.ctuonline.edu. I do not have these (connection?) problems when I access the site through Safari.
