Mail 7.3 quirk

MBP mid 2012, OSX 10.9.4, Mail 7.3
When I delete an email from my inbox Mail selects the next message and removes the unread icon prior to me opening the message.
Is there a way not have this happen? I often find that as I  go back through my emails there are some that I have missed because of this issue.
Thanks, Brendan

When mail "selects the next message", that actually opens the message for you.  So, naturally, the unread icon is deleted.
If you elect not to read the message right now, you can reinstate the unread icon for the selected message.  From Mail's menu, do Message > Mark > As Unread.

  • Mail - irritating display quirk

    I've just moved to Mail from Entourage v.X for Mac. No major problems so far, but an annoying display quirk which I'm hoping someone can help me to resolve.
    I am using Mail to send and receive via two POP accounts, hence I like to have the information displayed in Mail as follows:
    In the In mailbox, I like the columns to be in the order:
    Attachment - From - Subject - Date Received - To
    Whereas in the Sent mailbox, I like the columns to be in the order:
    Attachment - To - Subject - Date Sent - From
    The trouble is, when I put the columns in the order I want them in the Sent mailbox, they rearrange themselves in the In mailbox as well.
    It's a small thing, I know, but it's driving me nuts! In Entourage the column displays in the mailboxes are completely independent of each other - but in Mail it seems that you change the display for one and it changes them all.
    Is there any way round this?
    20" iMac Core 2 Duo   Mac OS X (10.4.8)   2.33 GHz, 3Gb RAM

    No. Mail stores column view settings globally for all mailboxes. You cannot change them for one mailbox without affecting the rest as well, except Mail allows you to have slightly different From/To and Date Sent/Date Received settings for Sent, i.e. show one instead of the other, but not the kind of difference you want.

  • Mail 4.5 Quirk(s) - Now unable to drag email address to Search

    I've been going through printer issues since updating to Snow Leopard, and am just now getting a chance to address other issues.  This one is driving me nuts and didn't seem to find anyone else posting about it (or just didn't get the right search terms!).  But when I have an email up, and I try to drag the sender's email address up to the Search window in Mail (to look for other emails from the same address), since the update to SL am no longer able to do that.  It will not drop into the Search window.
    Another quirk that I'm having, less frustrating but it's there nonetheless is that when I've tried to copy and paste an email address into the Search window, I no longer get just the email address.  I mean, you have in many/most email addresses the person's name and then the actual email address inside of the brackets -- and when you click on the email address and then select Copy Address and then paste into the Search window, now I get the stuff outside the brackets as well.  And Mail will not properly search the email address until I manually delete the brackets and the extra name info, leaving just the email address itself.
    I'm not the only one seeing these quirks am I???

    I went to the local Apple store earlier this week and asked on of the folks at the Genius Bar if he knew how to set the outgoing mail address. He showed me that I could enable the "reply to" field and then put my mail forwarding address into that field. Unfortunately, there is no easy way to pre-populate that field so that it always has my mail forwarding account address.

  • Outlook Quirk With E-Mail Submission of XML and/or PDF

    Hello all.
    I am running into an annoying little Outlook quirk when testing e-mail submissions of PDF forms. When the submit button is clicked, Outlook will open a new message window as it should, but the
    Send button will not trigger when clicked. The new message window doesn't react, it just sits there normally. Also,
    Ctrl+Enter doesn't work either. But...if I save the message as a draft, and then send from Outlook's drafts folder, the e-mail miraculously goes its merry way.
    I have tried this out with submitting the XML data by e-mail and with sending the completed PDF via e-mail (both by revising the
    Submit By E-mail button's submit node to "PDF" in the XML and by using a regular button and changing the field's control type and submit info).
    Does anyone have any ideas as to why Outlook is being finicky with this? I am running Office Outlook 2003 on Windows XP Pro and I use LiveCycle Designer 7.0 to create and edit the forms and Acrobat Pro 8.0 to test. My testers also use Outlook 2003/WinXP Pro and use Acrobat Pro 7.0 to fill in the forms.
    Thanks for the time and any help.

  • Can you help with Mavericks Mail quirks?

    My Mail difficulties started with Mavericks OS.  I can send and receive.  Can you help me with any of the following:
    1.  Lower left on screen may show many incoming mails (as high as 60), whereas I expect and get fewer thaan 10 per session.
    2.  Lower left on screen may show outgoing mails, 3-10, again and again, when Mail opens when in fact there are no unsent messages.
    3.  Mail in my sent box may appear marked as unread just as it would in the in box.  If I click to open, they no longer appear as unread.  This is not consistent, and seems unrelated to whether the recipient has opened them.
    4.  Rules roll my gmail account into Mail.  However, when Mail opens, I am asked for my gmail password.
    5.  I had a bcc with name of recipient show up on header of sent mail!  I have quit using bcc.
    6.  Is it possible to re-install Mail?  Maybe just a new installation of Mail would take care of it.  VBerg, Cape Coral, FL

    To get a new copy of Mail, you'd have to re-install the OS, which can be done by boorting into the Recovery Volume (command - R at startup).

  • Missing messages and other recent Mail.app quirks

    HI,
    Although I've read through many post on this issue, I haven't found one that seems to apply to my situation. And, the process seems really confusing... so I thought I'd ask you guy's.
    I rebuilt my inbox's last night, and:
    1. 1 of my 2 POP inbox's is now empty (except for a couple new mails today). There were about 150 messages.
    2. My .mac inbox is receiving mails, but first the little spinner thing wouldn't stop spinning, and has switched to a blue clock looking thing that's stuck at about 10:30 (may have moved to 11:00 now?).
    3. Drafts don't seem to be saving.
    4. Seems that the audio feedback is gone or was gone (the sound is up and the speakers to work).
    5. I was getting a strange error message when sending that I didn't write down (something to do with the Trash and 0 space or something).
    I've been on this new machine (OS 10.4.5) since November with no Mail.app (2.0.7) trouble at all (I moved from a TiBook that had once had Panther on it). And, I didn't let this last Security update install. I had been trying to resolve some POP SMTP server issues, but went with .mac with the "reply to" option (I'm stuck in a hotel in southern China), and I did lose one email that I had just sent... which prompted the rebuild of the mailbox's. Still can't find that missing email- but I did get a reply from the person I sent it to.
    There weren't many messages in that now empty inbox, but they were the important ones (which I think I located in Library > Mail folder thanks to you folks).
    I can survive with issues 2 - 5 above if necessary, but I'd really like to deal with the missing message problem.
    Should I just "import mailbox's" back in and hope it all works? Will I lose those new mails from today? Can you offer me any advice?
    Sorry if I rambled on too much (too much spare time on a Sunday morning in China), and thank you in advance for any thoughts,
    Guy

    Guy,
    Different answers for each file. The CachedData1 is a leftover file from an IMAP or .mac account -- Mail no longer uses that method of caching, so delete.
    The two MessageUidsAlreadyDownloaded are used with each POP account, and are still valid file types -- however, one of them should be modified each time you access your POP server -- check the dates modified again.
    The two files named to begin with Incoming are leftovers, and probably must simply be deleted. They resulted in the mailbox where you found them when a message had been received (even if by transfer) and that mailbox was not opened prior to the conversion. In Panther, and earlier, these files would disappear when the mailbox was opened to view. It probably is only one or two messages -- the Incoming_Mail file can be read with TextEdit to confirm.
    I think the Envelope Index Journal results during an incomplete indexing attempt Mail has made at some point, was meant to be temporary -- I am not entirely sure about this, but I do not have one.
    The time out on port zero is one I need to research -- although I have seen a few reports, and think there is some explanation, I cannot remember as I write this.
    There is an ongoing issue with .mac and continuation of the indicator for activity -- I see this on my iBook G4, but not on my G5. Useless needed for Offline use, set Mail Preferences/Accounts/Advanced to Don't save all message and attachment for Offline viewing, which may help. I hope this one get addressed in some future update.

  • This Mail quirk is driving me batty, please help

    Aloha all (iPhone 3GS v 3.1.2 16gb latest updates installed, no jailbreak) now that that's out of the way here's the issue.
    On home screen amount of messages shows up in Mail. When I open Mail, the amount of messages are still there, however in mail from @me.com as soon as I open the mail all messages disappear. With the other account, my home account through Cox Cable the numbers stay and the correct number of messages show up when I open. Only in the .Mac account do the mail messages disappear. Any thoughts or ideas on this one? I usually have to wait until I get to a computer to log in to .Mac and read the mail. This has basically become a pain in the posterior. Sometimes there is mail in the correct amount, and sometimes there's not. I want .Mac to work badly, but there are becoming so many little issues I'm about ready to cut it loose. I have been very patient, over 3 years, but I've about had it with so many other free apps that do the same stuff, From the slowest backups, unusable iDisk speeds, sorry didn't mean to rant, just want a way for my mail to work properly. Mahalo for any tips, info, suggestions. JB

    If this is a former .Mac account, are you accessing the account as an IMAP or POP account with the email client on your computer used for accessing the account?
    If you are accessing the account as a POP account with an email client on your computer, this can cause problems when accessing the account as an IMAP account with another email client.

  • Can't setup POP3 E-mail on mail client on my MacBook Pro

    So this problem is getting really out of hand and I'm not sure what options I have left. So here are the details:
    I'm trying to set up my work e-mail (the site host is Network Solutions) with Mail. There seem to be no problems with the online client. I can sign on without any troubles so password and username are correct. I'm using Mail 4.4. I first enter my name, e-mail, and password with no problems. Then for the incoming mail server I do the same, choosing POP, and I get the following message:
    "The POP server "mail.companysite.com" (with the proper domain inserted) is not responding. Try checking the network connection, and that the server name is correct. Otherwise, the server might be temporarily unavailable. If you continue, you might not be able to receive messages."
    i get this regardless if i put my username as just username or [email protected] and my network connection is fine as my other e-mail accounts (2 gmails set up as IMAP) work just fine. I've tried using different ports other than the default 110. Still the same problem.
    An interesting little quirk is that at one point it actually did work, then suddenly without any changes to anything that I could tell, it stopped. When it was working, I had it set up on my iPod touch and even when it stopped on my computer it kept working on my iPod. But that also didn't last as now I can no longer connect or even set it up.
    But wait! There's more. I've tried all the different debugging methods I can come up with, including trying to set it up on different e-mail clients, Entourage and Thunderbird, with the same result. Then I eventually tried it on another computer, on a PC running Windows XP, and wouldn't you know it, it set up without a hitch! so this means that my account is properly set up for this. Furthermore, I know it is possible to use an e-mail client on a mac with this domain as one of my coworkers has set it up on Entourage and Mail as well as his iPhone. I have no firewall settings currently on so nothing should be blocking and i've tried it using several different internet connections in different countries (seemingly then it's not a router or modem issue)
    Anyone have any ideas? Any and all help would be greatly appreciated! Let me know if there's any more info you would need me to provide.

    Create a New User Account, and as that New User try to set up this one account -- as it is POP, set to leave messages on the server after download. If not familiar with setting up a New User Account, see:
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?path=Mac/10.5/en/8235.html
    This will be a useful test, and is not meant to suggest a permanent switch to the New User Account, but rather a test of the Mail application outside of your normal User Account.
    Also in System Preferences/Networks click on Advanced, then Proxies and make sure no proxy selections have been checked.

  • Cannot send mail after upgrading to Lion

    Can anyone help.
    I upgraded to OS X Lion, and since then I cannot send mail from any of my accounts.
    Nothing wrong with them. I can access, receive and send with othe Mail programs, as well as from my iPhone and iPad.
    I have deleted, and reconfigured my accounts, and no luck.

    I am having the exact same problem as Steve Kennedy a few posts back.
    "When I press send I watch the fan for a couple of minutes before seeing the error message that invites me to select another server or try later. The outgoing mail server that shows up as being unusable is MobileMe (MobileMe). When I select smtp.me.com, I can send. Sometimes I can even send a couple of messages before the problem returns.
    I'm using Lion and Mail 5.0 (1244.2/1244.3) on my iMac (mid-2010) and Verizon FIOS. Never had this problem with Snow Leopard or earlier. Don't have it with my MacPro running Snow Leopard on the home wireless network. Don't have it when using MobileMe mail on the Web, but that's a slow alternative."
    I am getting REAL tired of the Lion quirks. <y desktop rearranges itself when it feels like it. Nothing consistent or repeatable. The folders just all appear on the right side and disregard how I have them organized on the desktop. I have set all of the recommended settings to no avail. A mind of it's own.
    Help us Apple. Mail is almost unusable.

  • How to delete Mail account without losing old mail?

    I've recently changed ISPs, so I have three old accounts/addresses in Mail that are no use any more. I want to delete them, but Mail (and Mail Help) tells me if I do I'll lose all the mail that has been sent or received from/by those accounts. I tried unchecking the Enable box in the Advanced tab in Preferences:Accounts, but then all the mail the disabled address had received (hundreds of messages) disappeared. I was able to get them back by re-enabling the address, but now I again have three extra addresses in the selection popup on new messages, so if I don't catch it, a message can be "sent" by a non-existent address. (It bounces, and I have to select the right address and send it again.) I don't want to lose years of emails, I just want to delete some addresses I no longer use. Anyone know how?
    PowerBook G4 17" 1.5GHz   Mac OS X (10.4.3)

    Open "In" in the mailboxes drawer by selecting the black triangle beside it....
    Thanks for the further elucidation. Wish I'd known all this (which is not explained anywhere in Mail's online Help, at least not that I could find) before I went through the tedium of manually sorting through all the messages. And I still don't understand why a search of the Inbox by the to-be-deleted email addresses failed to find some 20 messages which appeared in those addresses' individual boxes when I expanded the Inbox to show individual accounts.
    Many other email clients utilize a single large database file which is not dependent on individual account and associated mailbox filing. ... Entourage uses a single large database file and I don't prefer using an email client that stores all data in a single file.
    I certainly agree, and in fact was horrified to learn that Outlook Express does the same, which has resulted in disasters for many users. "All your eggs in one basket," anyone? Funny how folks are always pointing out to me that Apple software, despite glaring flaws, is better than Micro$oft. Since I got my first Mac in 1988, I've never used any Micro$oftware -- or any other computer. "Better than Microsoft" is not the same as "as good as it could be with a little effort," and nowhere near the "insanely great" of the early Macintosh years.
    In the early Internet years I used Netscape, which was excellent in its time; in the last few Classic Mac years, when Netscape 4.x simply couldn't do the job anymore (and Netscape 6 turned out a disaster), I switched to iCab and Eudora. I stayed with Eudora in X 10.2, finally switching to Mail sometime in 10.3, because Eudora was, well, looking increasingly ugly in the X environment, and Mail is part of the OS X package and Unicode-savvy (one of OS X's primary draws for me), and I figured I'd better become familiar with it since I support other Mac users.
    In Eudora, which does not store all mail in a single database (each mailbox is a single file, not encrypted, easily readable in a text editor), and which BTW comes with a comprehensive PDF manual, "When you delete a personality, all messages associated with that personality (both incoming and outgoing) are assigned to your Dominant personality." Which doesn't require the user to do a lot of research and work to avoid losing years of mail, and makes a lot more sense to me. And is why it had never occurred to me before that such a simple thing could turn into such a hassle; I've changed addresses before and never noticed a hole in the road. So it can be done. Eudora also keeps its mail in the Documents folder, a lot easier to back up than Mail's, which the user must hunt for.
    And yes, I've been tempted to return to Eudora -- I never see any online posts about "Eudora just lost all my mail!!!" while I see many such about Mail -- but it would be a big hassle (Mail's proprietary mbox files are not easily readable by anyone else), and like I said, I have to be familiar with Apple's software, since it's what my clients will be using. I certainly do prefer Mail's look & feel, if not some of its quirks.
    I did some research to find out more about the filing structure for each email client....
    Nice if you have the time/energy and knowledge/expertise to do that kind of research, but most users don't, and prefer the software to "just work" in a way a non-techie user (who paid as much -- or more -- for the computer as the software engineering major) would intuitively expect. As in not tossing all your mail just because you've changed your address.
    There is one more thing you can do which is mark your question as answered.
    Thanks again for taking the time to explain all this, and I'll mark the question "answered" now. And get back to work.

    ArrayField and state of child

    From: Luca Gioppo <[email protected]>
    Date: Wed, 02 Sep 1998 15:00:23 +0200
    Subject: ArrayField and state of child
    I got this problem:
    I want the array fieild to show the elementa of some columns depending on a
    boolean attribute of the mapped class:
    if true col 6 and 7 (datafield) will be invisible an col 5 visible and vice
    versa.
    Col 5 is a scrolllist so I need to populate each time the widget with
    different data.
    Everything functions well (htanks to the help found on the list) but I see
    a strange quirk:
    When I set to true two consecutive rows and then I scroll the arrayfield
    the widget of col 6 and 7 that were invisible
    pop up (only on one of the row), they are just a dirty paint as they cannot
    be selected (but show the hidden data)
    Any suggestion on this.
    I use R3.f
    Here is a code fragment of the method
    The array field has 5 rows
    Method popProv just populate the scrolllist with the array of listelement
    passed as parameter.
    mw1 : fieldWidget;
    mw2 : fieldWidget;
    mw3 : fieldWidget;
    myRow : integer = 1;
    for i in <arfProc>.TopRow to <arfProc>.TopRow + 4 do
    mw1 = <arfProc>.BodyGrid.GetChildInCell(myRow ,5);
    mw2 = <arfProc>.BodyGrid.GetChildInCell(myRow ,6);
    mw3 = <arfProc>.BodyGrid.GetChildInCell(myRow ,7);
    if arfProc.codFilter then
    mw1.State = FS_UPDATE;
    popProv(PI_sclProv = ScrollList(mw1),
    PI_arrPr = arfProc[i].arrProv);
    mw2.State = FS_INVISIBLE;
    mw3.State = FS_INVISIBLE;
    else
    mw1.State = FS_INVISIBLE;
    mw2.State = FS_UPDATE;
    mw3.State = FS_UPDATE;
    end if;
    myRow = myRow + 1;
    end for;

    Dave,
    FS_VIEW etc. aren't text values, they're integer constants which
    you can check out in DisplayProject. The one you want looks to
    be FS_VIEWONLY, which is equal to 2.

    Hi folks,
      I've been anxiously waiting for the Mavericks release, hoping it would, once-and-for-all, fix this aggravating issue I've had with spotlight mail searches.
    I recently carried out a full wipe-and-reinstall on my iMac, by creating a bootable clone of my main desktop, then booting from that drive and using disk utility to erase my main hard drive, and selecting that drive in the Mavericks installer.  This means that I had a 100% pristine installation of Mavericks - no old preferences, no old settings, no weird filesystem permissions issues, and yet this problem STILL persists.
    I have three different Gmail email accounts, all connected via IMAP, and all saving the emails locally for offline viewing (although I don't believe this is an option anymore in Mavericks).  When I first added these accounts to Mail.app, I was unable to search them either in Spotlight or in Mail.app.
    I have since undergone multiple attempts to fix it, and occasionally during the process Spotlight has worked(although it shows multiple historical versions of sent mails due to auto-save), but searching from within Mail.app remained broken no matter what I did.
    These are the things I've tried:
    running 'mdimport -r /Library/Spotlight/Mail.mdimporter'
    adding and removing ~/Library/Mail to the spotlight 'do not index these files' privacy setting
    adding and removing the entire hard drive to the 'do not index' list
    using 'mdutil -E' to erase and rebuild the index
    manually removing the Envelope Index files from ~/Library/Mail/V2/MailData, then re-launching mail to force it to rebuild the index
    using the menus within mail to rebuild the mailboxes
    This has been broken for several versions of Mac OS, and it's obscene that there hasn't been any progress on the issue.  Please tell me that somebody has some new ideas that I haven't tried yet - I've been struggling with this headache literally for YEARS, and it has really soured me on an otherwise excellent Apple experience.

    I finally figured it out!
    The trick was that I had some old versions of Mail.app in an archived folder, and these versions were screwing up spotlight, even though they haven't been run in years.  Removing the old versions, then updating the spotlight index and rebuilding the Envelope Index files seems to have fixed my search.
    For others who, like me, have spent YEARS of constantly re-indexing things to fix it - there is an odd quirk in the way OS X associates files, where it seeks out Applications anywhere on your computer (including external hard drives), and the presence of those Applications can mess things up even if you aren't running them.  This seems to be rarely discussed in proposed solutions, but it was absolutely the fix for me.

  • Mail does not release attachments to be deleted!

    In Tiger, there was no trouble deleting a file which was attached to an email.
    In Leopard, i could never delete a file until the message it was attached to had been sent.
    In Snow Leopard, i can't delete any file that has ever been attached to an email without first 'Quitting' the Mail application, which i'm used to doing very rarely.
    *A known bug? Some way around this?*

    *This is driving me slowly insane!*
    After mailing and trashing a whole pile of images, it can take ages to securely empty trash.
    I must send negative feedback about a newly noticed quirk/bug in Apple Mail about once a week.
    If i could find an affordable alternative to Apple Mail with the features i need, i'd dump this stupid app!
    It's got Smart Mailbox problems, this problem, search problems, wonky changing style behaviors, problems with the cursor springing off to odd locations when doing much editing of styled mail, and many more quirks; +far more than i notice in any other Apple app i use.+
    I've long ago established that none of this junk can be traced to my install (redone that) or any add-ons, that I've got on the system.

  • Apple Mail Pop Server Configuration

    Hi all,
    It's not often I post on here but here we go. I have been using Macs ever since the Lisa Electronic Office and have always been perplexed by one strange quirk of the Apple Mail account configuration process. This quirk is now becoming extremely troublesome.
    I use BT/Yahoo (I'm not talking about the famous password rejection problem). One main account and several sub-accounts which, for all intents and purposes, can be considered as separate accounts.
    Now the problem arises because, while each has a separate email address, they all use the same pop server settings. ie. mail.btinternet.com.
    Mail will not allow me to use two accounts with the same pop settings. I can set up and verify the account (doesn't stay on-line because SSL is set and the port is wrong) but when I come make a change and save it I get the message:
    Invalid Directory
    The account path /Users/fredbloggs/Library/Mail/V2/[email protected]@mail.btinternet.com is already being used by the account “Another One”
    Obviously I've changed the account names. Another One is one of my other accounts. I've got one working by using pop.btinternet.com but I've run out of working aliases. I should be able to set up 10 sub accounts and access them all with Apple Mail. IMAP works OK but that is something I don't wish to use for a number of reasons.
    Anybody else come across this?
    I can do all this with Entourage (horrible) and Outlook which I do not intend to buy. Why does Apple make life so difficult sometimes?

    OK Folks,
    To save confusion and to all those people who think I am using the same email address for everything, here they are.
         British Telecomm Residential
              [email protected]          (USAAF 381st Bomb Group Heavy)
              [email protected]     (My company)
              [email protected]          (Master Account for everything else)
         British Telecomm Business
              [email protected]          BT Business E-Mail - I don't use
         Others I have are:
              [email protected]
              [email protected]
              [email protected]
    [email protected] currently exists as an IMAP account which works but something I would rather not have.
    As you can see, they are all separate and distinct.
    As I said before, all hese work just fine with Entourage (nasty and a dead product) and Outlook (something I'm not prepared to buy when the Apple offering should do it all for me and integrates really nicely with iCal, Address Book, Notes etc.
    Thank you everybody for trying to help and thanks Defcom but, as you thought, that article is really old hat now.
    I am now going to open a large bottle and sit in that darkened room.
    If I now get flooded with spam, I know where it's come from.
    Goodnight, Good Morning or G'Day depending on where you're from..

  • E-Mail Signature Grey and Single Line after PR1.2 ...

    Hi
    After having updated my N900 to PR1.2, I now find that when I reply to, or create a new message in the standard e-mail client , my automatic signature is inserted in grey instead of black, and all linefeeds are left out so the whole thing appears in one line instead of four which is how I have it.
    Sure, I can edit it and re-insert the linefeeds and make it all black, but this is clearly not the point. It worked fine prior to 1.2 and should continue to work fine after the upgrade.
    One quirk of this 'bug' is that, once I've opened a new message (with the incorrect signature), if I change the originating e-mail address (I have more than one e-mail account) by tapping on my e-mail address at the top and selecing a different one, the signature 'repairs' itself and the linefeeds re-appear so the signature then looks fine except that it's still in grey.
    Does anyone else have this problem? Does anyone have a fix?
    Thanks.

    for some reason on the new pr 1.2 version, the signiture is requiring html to have the breaks.
    if your signiture used to look like:
    Joe Blow
    ABC Corp.
    [email protected]
    888-555-1212
    Sent from my Nokia n900
    then is now looks like this:
    Joe BlowABC [email protected] Sent from my Nokia n900
    to fix this, write it this way:
    Joe Blow<br>
    ABC Corp.<br>
    [email protected]<br>
    888-821-0937<br>
    <br>
    Sent from my Nokia n900.
    it will still show up as a light grey/brown, but it will now be formated correctly.
