Mail Account Info incomplete

I have just upgraded to Yosemite. Mail now has a problem. In the  Account Info window, the top line (sender header) of the message list is always incomplete.
The From, Subject and Size fields are blank. Date received is OK. Also all data in the maIn message window is OK.

The email accounts available should be in the window below the sync email accounts selection under the Info tab for your iPhone sync preferences with iTunes.
Is the new email account available under the Info tab for your iPhone sync preferences with iTunes and if so, is the new email account selected?

  • Changing mail account info

the good news: the iPhone automatically implemented all my account info from apple mail the first time I activated & synced it. great!
the bad news - I need to use a different outgoing mail server - I can't send mobile mail from the same server I use for my desktop mail ...
so how can I change the account info - to put in a different outgoing mail smtp dealie?? there doesn't seem to be a preference setting the way there is in apple mail...
    thanks..

am having a dickens of a time with this - when I first got the iPhone a week ago, I could receive all my mail easily but had a problem sending.
so I deleted the account, put it in all over again (as correctly advised on this thread), and now I have the send part working fine but I currently can not receive messages!
I have double & triple checked the settings - can't figure out what's wrong - will probably call Apple Care...
    thanks!

  • Mavericks Mail Account Info

At the bottom of the Mailboxes column of the Mail window the little "gear wheel" gives access to "Get Account Info". Before Mavericks the choice of sort order displayed in this window could be set. Now it's no longer possible; it just auto-sorts on the message size -  and that's it. Is there any way to get around this restriction? I found it very useful to sort on other columns, "date received", "from" or whatever, to avoid my wife having to download a mass of unnecessary mail onto her little iBook via a slow connection.

In the Classic View, if I control - click on the dot, it gives me an option to sort by.

  • Mail Account info sync

When a new email account is set up on my laptop and then I sync iphone (sync email yes) is the new account info supposed to get into the iphone? It seems not and I have to re enter all the account info into my iphone... am I missing something? I'm not using mobileme and have emails as pop accounts...

The email accounts available should be in the window below the sync email accounts selection under the Info tab for your iPhone sync preferences with iTunes.

  • User's Mail account info changed

My wife just called me at work with a bizarre Mail situation. Our iMac at home has 2 user accounts, mine and hers, and each has Mail configured for our own individual e-mail accounts, reasonably enough.
My Mail account is a full .Mac account. Her e-mail account is an e-mail only .Mac account, with her own e-mail address, obviously.
This morning the power went off and the computer with it. When she restarted, she logged into her account and got my e-mail. And when she checks the account details it is indeed configured to receive my mail.
For the time being I've asked her to use webmail until I get home to take a look. Could this have something to do with the upcoming .Mac changes? How could a power outage switch Mail accounts?

Now that I've come home I can guess roughly what happened. The power outage must have caused one of the Mail files--preferences or something--to become corrupt, and so the account didn't show up when Mail started.
Now, my .Mac settings are in her system preferences. So Mail, being friendly and accommodating, must have automatically created a .Mac account for her when it found no other accounts configured in Mail and since my account settings were in system preferences, it was able to do that no problem.

  • Error while syncing mail accounts

iTunes could not sync mail accounts to the iPhone "..." because an error occurred remapping record identifiers.
Try syncing your iPhone again. If the problem persists, replace the mail accounts on the iPhone from the info tab in the iPhone preferences.
The message above is an error message received several times. I have tried to work out how to replace the mail accounts through iTunes. Have been clicking it on and off and re-syncing. Still gives the error message. Can anyone help me resolve this?? tks

iTunes is running into a conflict between mail account information already on your iPhone and the accounts you are trying to sync.
Connect your iPhone to your computer. In the Advanced section under the Info tab, check the box next to "Mail Accounts". This will replace the mail account info on your iPhone with the accounts you are trying to sync.
If this does not work, then reset your sync history by opening the iSync application, going into the preferences, and clicking Reset Sync History.

  • Migration Assistant only moved Apple Mail account & nothing else in Mail

    Hello,
I recently got a New MacBook Pro, now running 10.8.1. My Old Black MacBook was Running Snow Leopard 10.6.8.
I used the Migration Assistant to move everything over. So far Everything seems to have been moved over, except my mail settings, Malbox folders, Rules, and accounts. It did move my icloud mail account info, but that was it. I have 5 other Accounts with seperate POP/SMTP servers to move over. I have been able to manually Migrate all the Mailbox folders on my mac by importing them from my old mac's ~/user/Library/Mail folder, but my accounts and Extensive set of rules still have not been moved.
I first tried moving my MessageRules.plist file from my old ~/user/Library/Mail folder to my new folder of the same name, but that did not move my rules.
Any Suggestions as to how I can move my accounts and rules.
    Thank you in Advance.
    Jeff

Connect your iPhone to your computer. In the Advanced section under the Info tab, check the box next to "Mail Accounts". This will replace the mail account info on your iPhone with the accounts you are trying to sync.

  • I had a MobileMe account before... after upgrading to iOS 5, should I keep my account info under iCloud (settings) AND under mail, contacts and calendars (in Settings as well) or only keep the info under the new iCloud setting section?

I had a MobileMe account before... after upgrading to iOS 5, should I keep my account info under iCloud (settings) AND under mail, contacts and calendars (in Settings as well) or only keep the info under the new iCloud setting section?

That's not the correct port. It should be 993 for incoming.
If you signed into iCloud from the System Preferences, it should automatically create the iCloud account for you in Mail. Sounds like it is an account you already had set up for MMe in Mail.
Open Mail preferences, open the Accounts tab, disable that account in the advanced pane.
Open Sys Prefs, open the iCloud tab, and sign out of iCloud. Then sign back in and see if a new iCloud account is automatically created.

  • Mac Mail losing account info

    Hi,
Every once in a while, and I don't know why, MacMail just loses my account info.
For example, everything was perfect (even this morning) until I came back from lunch today. I opened up Mail and just got the spinning wheel next to my account name and then the circle with the triangle & exclamation point inside. Doesn't show any errors at all. Just no incoming email. This account is for an account on my web host, not gmail or yahoo mail or other webmail thing.
Also, for another account I also get the spinning wheel and then I get a message that says "The POP server "pop.sbcglobal.net" rejected the password...." This also used to work fine and I don't know why it would suddenly lose the account info.
The first problem is more of an issue for me because I don't get any message that tells me what's wrong.
    Any help is appreciate.
    Rob

MacMail just loses my account info.
Mail is not losing your account info; it's just unable to establish a connection to the mail server for some reason. Happens all the time, around the world, so it's nothing to worry about. It should correct itself on the next attempt.

  • Mail's "Messages on Server" in "Account Info"  not working

Since upgrading to Maverick, it has become extremely tedious to manage my Pop server accounts via Mail's Account Info, Messages on Server function.  In the first place, none of the sorting tabs work--the messages are sorted by size only and will not re-sort in any other way.
Secondly, and more frustratingly, it takes an interminable amount of time to delete messages from the server via the Messages on Server window--more than a full minute in most instances.
This is a real nuisance in that my practice is to view what is on the server before downloading email, deleting any that are spam or otherwise not needing to be downloaded.  The practice allows me to leave email on the server until I have downloaded it on both (or either) of two machines that I use to access my email accounts--of which I have four to check.
For the record, I am running OS X 10.9.1 and Mail 7.1 (1827).
Is anyone at Apple aware of these issues?  And if so, is anything being done?  Is there anything that I can do to address this?
    Thank you.
    Onfoot

I assume you are talking about your gmail account. If you choose to store the messages on the server, you will be able to access them from the gmail website from any computer. If you leave it unchecked, you won't. If you have set up your Mac Mail application with your gmail account, your MobileMe will automatically sync your computer with the online MobileMe website whether you store the emails on the gmail server or not. So what it comes down to is that if you choose to keep your messages on the gmail server, you will be able to access them from two places online - MobileMe and the Gmail website.
    Hope this helps,
    Chris

When I try to access Mail I get the following message "Cannot Get Mail. The mail server is not responding. Verify that you have entered the correct account info in Mail Settings". I have entered the correct account details and even deleted them and re-entered them but to no avail, Help.

Try deleting the email account and readding it in the "other" tab instead of Yahoo/gmail, etc
