MAIL ACCOUNT NOT WORKING SOMEONE HELP?!

I have two email accounts in Mail but my outlook account always comes up with "mail can't connect to the account" I don't know what's happening? I try to activate it online but it still doesn't work? I've also re entered the password... what do i do!?

Make sure the settings your email provider needs are correctly set up in Mail. The server names, ports, etc., have to be set up correctly. Usually the info will be online. If you look in their support area, you may even find specific instructions for setting up Mac Mail.
Are you saying you're using Outlook as well as Mail? The "outlook account" comment is a little confusing.

    Have you attempted an iTunes restore and setting up as a new device? Sometimes battery life issues can be caused by corrupted iOS software.

  • Mail Account Not Working

    Mail on my Air is able to receive and send mail from my University email, but after syncing the mail client with my new iPhone 5 yesterday, I still cannot send/receive mail from that account on my phone.
    I first set it up on my Air through the Mail new Account interface. My university uses a Gmail Apps interface, so it was relatively easy. IMAP is enabled on my server with all of the correct options (double checked with a tutorial). The account works perfectly on my mac and am able to send and receive.
    I then plugged in my iPhone 5 and synced it using iTunes with emphasis on the Mail Accounts option. All of my accounts are on my phone (iCloud, personal Gmail, and Univ. Gmail). I can send/receive from the first two, but still no go on the University account. It gives me a message whenever it attempts to send or receive saying that my username or password is incorrect - when in fact it isn't.
    Am I missing something? Is there a reason it worked flawlessly with my own Gmail account (which is a Google Apps setup with my personal domain as well) but not my University account?

  • Mail search not working; please help

    For some reason the search function in Mail has stopped working. If I click on the Sent folder, tons of emails come up, but when I search, it always comes back blank, when they are definitely there?
    Dosn't matter if I search for something I sent 10 minutes ago, yesterday or last week, nothing ever comes up. I have to list by name and look alphabetically which takes ages.
    Any ideas?

    Not that it's much help, Nigel, but I'm having the same problem. No matter what I search for, I get no result. I CAN find the email in Spotlight, however. Can you?   • E-mail account not working since Z10 software update 10.2.0.424

    I’m having a technical issue with my company e-mail account on my blackberry device. The phone had recently updated [5-days ago] its operating system to version 10.2.0.424
    Ever since the software update, I have not been able to send or receive any e-mails on my work email account. But my gmail account is working normally on the phone.
    I deleted the account completely from the phone and tried to reconfigure it, but the message is always the same: “The server for account XXX – [email protected] [mail.xxx.com, port: 143] can't be reached.  The settings might be incorrect or the server could be temporarily offline.  Check your settings and try again."
    Our company's web-mail is provided by Bluehost and i have checked and rechecked that the configurations match the specs instructed by Bluehost. Moreover, these are the exact same settings I was using on the phone before the software update and it was working fine.

    Try these as needed:
    1. Reset phone - press both home and sleep/wake buttons until the Apple logo appears.
    2. Delete and reinstall the account
    3. Restore phone in iTunes using a backup
    4. Restore as a new iPhone

    Can you access the account on another device?
    What error message are you getting?
    Are you sure the setting you entered are correct?
    I would Google for:
    setup XX email on iphone
    where XX is your provider.
    The delete the the account from the iPod and reenter the settings
    Safari does work on the iPod, right?

  • Virtual Host Mail Accounts Not Working

    Hi. I have attempted to search the discussions for an answer to this, but haven't had much luck.
    I have one server running 10.5.8. This server hosts 4 domains, 1 main and 3 virtual. Each domain needs an [email protected] email address. I have created a user in WGM named info and have created the short names for each domain: info (I assume the local domain short name doesn't need the domain.com added), [email protected], [email protected] and [email protected] I have entered the 3 virtual hosts in Server Admin-->Mail-->Settings-->Advanced-->Hosting-->Enable Virtual Hosting section.
    The issue is that when I configure Mail for each of the accounts, they are being treated as though they are aliases and not virtual host accounts. In other words, each account sees the exact same mail. When I check Server Admin-->Mail-->Maintenance-->Accounts I do NOT see the three additional virtual host accounts, so clearly they are not being created.
    This same server is also the mail server, so each domain's DNS MX record is pointing to this server. Like I said, I can send and receive mail, but it goes to all the accounts simultaneously (as aliases would) rather than individually.
    I've scoured the documentation, but cannot seem to find what I have missed here to prevent this from working as it should.
    Does anyone have experience with a successful deployment of a situation similar to this one?

    I do, indeed, have the addresses set up for one user, as you have ascertained. I suppose that I will alter the setup in the manner in which you describe. What is completely perplexing to me is that if you review Apple's documentation just after the section after describing Mail Forwarding (~pg. 37) you will see that Apple is saying I can set it up the way I have. Directly from the text as follows:
    Virtual hosting is a method you can use to host more than one domain name on the
    same computer and IP address, with overlapping mail user names.
    For instance, a mail server can receive mail transfer requests for two domains,
    mail.example1.com and mail.example.com, both of which resolve to the same IP
    address. For mail.example1.com, the server would deliver mail to “[email protected]
    to a user mailbox for “bob,” while it would also deliver mail to “[email protected]” to
    a different user mailbox. Virtual hosts are essentially the converse of local host aliases.
    Again, I state that if this is to be true, then I should have the ability to assign one Open Directory account and give that account the four addresses as above with each having a separate user mailbox. The way it is behaving now is like aliases, not virtual hosts as Apple describes.
    I'd love to understand why this is the case, perhaps I'm completely misunderstanding the text.

    I try to log onto my account but it says this apple id has not yet been used with the itunes store and it takes me back to the create an id page. However if i then try to create a new account it says my email is used for an id and tells me to either log on or use a different email? So i can't get around it, someone please tell me how i can sort out this problem

  • Hotmail & Yahoo Mail accounts not working on OS X 10.9.5

    I have not been receiving email for about 5 days until I did an update last night. Now I am receiving emails but since the update finished, no emails will be sent. There are still four pending and asks for my passwords... it repeatedly pops up asking for the passwords.   • Mail import not working - please help

    Hi - I've read all the archive material I can find about "No valid Mail for Mac OS X files were found." and I'm still stumped.
    I want to update Mail in my new Mac Mini with all the old emails from my old G4. These 8,000 old emails are accessible on my old G4 but I cannot import them. I transferred the old Library/Mail Folder containing all the emails to the Mini but no matter what I do I keep getting "No valid Mail for Mac OS X files were found." I've tried every folder in every layer, even tried over the network to the original files. I have permission to read/write the files.
    By the way my old G4 will not go into Target mode for easy transfer via Migration Assistant so I've had to go this method, to my enormous chagrin!
    What am I doing wrong? It's obviously something, but even 12 hours off and a good sleep didn't help...

    Mail 1.x stored mail in standard mbox format, but Mail 2.x doesn’t. The only way you might find Mail messages in a “recovered” mbox file is if it’s a Mail 1.x file that Mail 2.x left there after the conversion to the new .emlx format when/if you upgraded from Mac OS X 10.3 or earlier to Mac OS X 10.4.

  • All mail accounts not working

    My wifes iPhone has stopped receiving email on all 3 of her email accounts. 2 of them are POP and one of them is gmail. It happened while we were vacationing in the US on wifi and some roaming on AT&T. We came home last night and it still isn't working. She restored the iPhone through iTunes last night and it didn't work.
    What should she do next?

    OK so I deleted and "reinstalled" both POP accounts and now everything seems to be working. I believe this has happened before, anyone know why?

    By default you can’t add links but there is a trick to it that can do just that:
    Write a new email, add the urls in the new email as if its a signature.
    Then select the text that you wish for it to be a link and go to Edit then Add Link.
    Repeat that process for all your links then Copy and paste the manually created footer with links in the signature section under preferences...
