  • My iTunes match on my MacBook Pro hasn't worked since Mountain Lion install. Tried Apple Tech but all their suggestions didn't solve the issue. Guess I will try them again on Monday. Clearly this is a common problem and a Mountian Lion conflict issue.

iTunes match hasn't worked since Mountain Lion install. Cloud icon keeps striking~ off. Won't upload new tracks to iTunes match. Just the eternal circle of step one, two, freeze....then tries again but never gets completed. Worked fine before Mountain Lion. Apple tech tried over phone for an hour but it didn't solve this issue. See others are in the same boat. Any help with this, please??

Same issue here with a MacBook pro recently upgraded to Mountain Lion.  I hadn't tried iTunes Match prior to the upgrade so can't say whether or not it worked previously.
    Getting quite frustrated!

  • Back to my mac screen sharing no longer works since Mountain Lion release, even on Lion

I've used screen sharing via iCloud and back to my mac between a 2007 macbook and a 2010 imac.  Both computers are still on Lion but screen sharing stopped working when Mountain Lion was released.  I've read a number of comments on this forum that people were having trouble since upgrading to Mountain Lion, but I don't think that's the problem b/c I haven't upgraded either machine.  I think the problem is something Apple did in preparation for the Mountain Lion release date and it seems to have damaged screen sharing functionality.  Anybody else experiencing this or have a fix for it.
As for the specifics, I can still see my "other" machine under shared and can click "share screen," it usually searches for a couple minutes, then pops up the password dialogue box, but then searches for a while and eventually the password box closes, "screen sharing" stays open, but there are no windows associated with it.

I have the same problem, just today (although I'm still running 10.6.8). Every morning I turn on my main Logic mac then fire up my 2 slave macs, connect to them, activate Screen Sharing, and get going.
This morning I tried it, connected to the other macs as usual (I can see/access/alter their hard drives from my main mac) but when I click "Share Screen" I just get the "connecting" dialog box & it just keeps going.
The weird thing is, when I put my laptop into the network via wifi, I can screenshare my main mac's screen (all 3 of them, actually!)  but not my 2 slave macs that are ethernet'd to the main mac.
I've tried every solution I could find via google, and nothing is working.

  • IMessage Not Working Since Mountain Lion Upgrade

Since I "upgraded" my iMac and MacBook Air to Mountain Lion, iMessage delivery is hit and miss to the say the least from my iPhone 4S.  I first realised there was an issue receiving text messages whilst in the States and not connected to WiFi. Messages weren't even being received as text messages, even but would all come through as a flood from my girlfriend when I connected to WiFi.
At the weekend she dropped her iPhone 4 and the screen is duff so she's swapped her SIM into a spare BlackBerry until it's repaired.  Gues what? She can text me but my 4S is still trying to reply by iMessage and none of them are being resent/sent as text messages.
It's useless having a mobile phone that will effectively only communicate by voice and e-mail and no basic texting. It wouldn't be so bad if it actualy said the messages were failing.

Were you running os x 10.6 before the upgrade?
Anyway photoshop cs2 won't work on mountain lion because cs2 is a PowerPC application
and mountain lion can only run intel applications natively like photoshop cs3-cc.
If you were using 10.6, then you were using rossetta, an application that allowed some powerpc programs to run on an intel mac and mountain lion doesn't have rossetta.
The current versions of photoshop available from adobe are photoshop cs6 and photoshop cc, but since cs2 is out
of the upgrade loop now, so you need to either buy the full version of photoshop cs6 or subscribe to photoshop cc.

  • Pages not working since Mountain Lion Installation

I just opened a document I created in 2010, and got an error message when trying to save changes: "Can't save, print, or export documents until the iWork 30-day trial has been activated."  I have been using iWork 09 for quite a long time (I have version 4.2)...I installed Mountain Lion about 4 days ago and this is the first day I've been in Pages since.  I don't know why I'm getting this error when '09 is installed on my computer and I've been using a paid version of iWork since for years.  I have not discovred instances where other people have had this issue after installing Mountain Lion, but wanted to ask here.  Thank you.

  • Why don't pages and keynote work since mountain lion was reinstalled?

I just had Mountain Lion reinstalled to fix a problem with reading DVD's. That problem was fixed but now I can't use Pages or Keynote. When I try to open them I get a message saying "files that need iwork are missing" and it says to use the iwork installer to reinstall iwork. So I downloaded and installed iwork 9.2, but pages, numbers and keynote still don't work. Help! I need my documents for work!

Plus when I tried downloading updates to pages and keynote from the Apple support site, I got a message saying they couldn't be installed because they were from an unidentified developer, not approved by Apple. Huh?

  • Firewire, Virtual software and Chrome don't work under Mountain Lion.  Why?

I upgraded two machines to Mountain Lion:  A Core i7 iMac and a Core2Duo Mac Mini running OS X Server.
The first thing I noticed was that any virtual machine software icons - Fusion, Parallels and Virtual Box - show up with the circle crossed out, even though each version was the latest installed (came as part of a couple of MacUpdate bundles).
Then I noticed on the iMac, all firewire devices were not being seen.  I have a Lacie 4big Quadra hooked up via firewire 800, an LG DVD+R drive on firewire 400 (800 to 400 cable coming out of the Lacie) and an EyeTV 200, which all were working just fine under Lion.  System Profiler shows a "Maximum Speed:  up to 800 Mb/sec", but no devices listed as available.  I did dupe the original Lion installation to an external USB disk but haven't resorted to that yet.  Tried identifying all connected devices at the command line, but haven't had success finding the firewire devices.
Finally, although the latest Safari is nice and fast, I have been accustomed to working with Google Chrome.  On the iMac, every time I attempt to run Chrome, it comes up crashing and asking if I wanted to report it, which I do.  I even went as far as to delete and reinstall Chrome and I get the same result.  What's up with that?
    Ideas?
    Regards,
        Tony.

Since posting, I found out there were some updates available from VMWare, Parallels and Oracle (VirtualBox) which now allow them to run properly under Mountain Lion.
I still have the problem with Firewire and Chrome though...  For Chrome, I have deleted and reinstalled but get the same result.  As for Firewire, I'm almost ready to "reorganize" my wiring from adding another powered hub and hooking some of the devices via USB, or just follow the lines and plugging and unplugging, although moments before the reboot from Lion to Mountain Lion, all firewire devices worked in the configuration described and nothing had since changed...

  • My scanner does not work since mountain lion

Since I installed Mountain Lion my scanner does not work anymore.
I have a Konica Minolta Magicolor 1690MF and the printing works.
There doesn't seem to be other drivers available at Konica Minolta.

Your apparently older Model needs to use Apple's "Print & Scan" which is found in Applications>System Prefernces>Print & Scan:
Place the item that you want to scan on the scanner glass, or load it into the automatic document feeder (ADF) if your printer has one.
Click the Apple menu (# ), and then click System Preferences .
    Click Print & Scan (# ).
Click your printer in the left pane.
Click Scan , and then click Open Scanner .
Click Show Details . The details of the scan display, including options to change scan settings.Figure 4: Example of the Show Details scanning screen#
Change any scan settings as necessary, and then click Scan .NOTE: Make sure to select either the Flatbed mode or the Document Feedermode, depending on your printer and how you plan to scan.
    Hope this helps

  • Home sharing don't work in Mountain Lion update

both Apple TV and Remote fails to load Itunes library arggghh!! everything is set up restarted rebootet and run through several times.
anybody have same issues or hopefully a solution?

    Hi All,
Just did the ML and iTunes update and identified this issue.
The following fixed the issue for me:
Settings / Sharing / File Sharing / Options (button)
---> Enable "Share files and folders using AFP" (wasn't enabled)
---> Enable "Share files and folders using SMB (Windows)" (already enabled in my system)
After enabling AFP sharing, my ATV2 worked perfectly with home sharing from both the native disk/volume and a NAS volume.
    Cheers!

  • Speak Sender Name Only AppleScript in Mail No Longer Working In Mountain Lion

Hi all, the title pretty much says it all.
I have a very simple AppleScript that I use as a rule in Apple Mail everytime new email comes in.
This AppleScript will speak only the sender's name. That's all I want it to say.
I there are two emails, it will say, "Mail From John Smith" followed closely by "Mail From Johnny Appletree", etc.
This works great in Lion as a Mail rule.
I have properly placed this AppleScript in the correct path for Mail scripts.
    It's located in:
    (user name)/Library/Application Scripts/com.apple.mail
I've popped in the sample script provided by Apple into this same path that speaks the total number of selected emails, the name and the subject, etc. That works fine, so I'm positive the path is correct. But that script says a bunch of items I don't need. I just need a simple script and I'm guessing somehow the conversion from Lion to Mountain Lion doesn't work for some reason with this script.
Anyone know how to modify this supposedly simple script to make it work in Mountain Lion?
Any help is most appreciated, thanks!
Here is the script I had been using in Lion as a Mail rule without any issues before Mountain Lion:
    on perform_mail_action(info)
-- see if iTunes is playing
              set itunes_playing to false
              tell application "System Events"
if (get name of every process) does not contain "iTunes" then
                                  set itunes_playing to false
                        else
                                  tell application "iTunes"
if player state is playing then set itunes_playing to true
                                  end tell
                        end if
              end tell
    -- pause iTunes if needed
if itunes_playing is true then tell application "iTunes" to pause
              tell application "Mail"
set the_messages to |SelectedMessages| of info
                        repeat with a_message in the_messages
set the_sender to extract name from sender of a_message
if (junk mail status of a_message) is not true then
                                            say "Mail from " & the_sender
                                  end if
                        end repeat
              end tell
-- resume iTunes if it was playing before
if itunes_playing is true then tell application "iTunes" to play
    end perform_mail_action

    Hi,
This script should work, try it :
    using terms from application "Mail"
on perform mail action with messages theselectedMessages
tell application "iTunes" -- this doesn launch Tunes if iTunes is not running
set itunes_playing to running and player state is playing -- see if iTunes is playing
if itunes_playing then pause -- pause iTunes if needed
                end tell
                tell application "Mail"
                      repeat with a_message in theselectedMessages
set the_sender to extract name from sender of a_message
if (junk mail status of a_message) is not true then
tell me to say "Mail from " & the_sender
                            end if
                      end repeat
                end tell
-- resume iTunes if it was playing before
if itunes_playing then tell application "iTunes" to play
end perform mail action with messages
    end using terms from
