Mail always freezing

Ever since I have used the mail app. in tiger, it has froze on me. It takes about 20mins to send a message and it's hit or miss whether I can read my mail before all of the messages disappear from the screen. My computer with panter works great. what's wrong?

Yes, it has been running slow.  If I do that will it erase what is stored on the hard drive?
Thanks,
Anne
Tom wants you to run Disk Utility from the install disc and then select your boot volume and then click "Repair Disk" to check and correct any directory problems.  That will not erase any data files on the disc.  If Disk Utility actually makes repairs, do another "Repair Disk" operation, as sometimes one repair will uncover another error.  Stop when it gives the volume a clean bill of health without making any repairs.  Then restart the machine and see how things work.

  • Curve 8330 always freezing

    Hi,
I can't take this anymore, my curve is ALWAYS freezing at least 4 times a day, and this happens during any activity. It happens during phone calls and I am unable to hang up, or do anything in a call, this happened while I was on the phone yesterday and lasted for 7 minutes. It also freezes almost EVERY TIME i try to access the app world, so I have given up on using that, and often when it happend with the app world I have to do a battery pull reset. I pretty much cant upgrade any apps due to this.
Also at times when I try to exit applications (even basic ones such as Options), the phone stays frozen on a solid white screen for several minutes.
    Device info
    Your carrier: Telus
Model info and OS version: 8330, v4.5.0.186
    Apps and free space
File free before and after a battery remove/replace: 10273225 bytes free
I have tried virtually ALL suggestions.
    1. I have a 1gb SD card in the phone with all media stored on it.
    2. I only have the basic background apps running ( home, phone, messages, browser, blackberry messenger, Enhance G-mail plug-in
    3. 10273225 bytes free
    4. I have removed apps that arent used frequently.
I just bought this phone about 2 months ago and I am so sick of it already with how slow it is.
ANY help would be GREATLY appreciated

Im with Telus also, the freezing when I tried to end a call has happened to me a couple of times, usually I just take the battery out, but if it's doing that often, I would do a back up on you bb desktop, wipe the phone clean, back to default settings (telus technical support can help you with that) then restore the phone. If that doesnt work, take it back to Telus and they will send the phone off for repairs or they will replace the phone.

  • Mail app receive my mails always late comparing my iPhone mail app why ?

mail app on my new MBP haswell on mavericks receive my mails always late comparing my iPhone mail app why please ?

There are issues with Mavericks Mail but only for some people. Worst on Exchange, but remember this is not "push" mail.  It will never be as fast as Active Sync push.
For $1.99 try Airmail app, see if it is any faster. For me it is faster. If you rely heavily on 'On My Mac' folders then Airmail needs another release (in Beta currently) to support them properly, otherwise it is a very good app..

  • Mail app freezes after first use on iPad 3 and ios 8.1.  How to solve?

Apple mail app freezes after first use after reset.  iPad 3 and IOS 8.1.  How do resolve?

    Hi, sixfinger.
Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.
Try forcing all applications to close and restart the device.  Once this is done test to see if the Mail app functions correctly.
iOS: Force an app to close

iPhone, iPad, iPod touch: Turning off and on (restarting) and resetting

  • How can you tell if a computer problem is a hardware or software problem? My Macbook pro is always freezing!!

I've been using my Macbook Pro for about 5 months. The first 3 months were great. But now it makes my life harder!!!
    It's always freezing.
    Any suggetions.

Something doesn't sound right here. You say you have been using the MBP for 5 months and your profile say you are running 10.4.10. A MBP bought five months ago should have Snow Leopard 10.6. Of did you get this MBP used five months ago? Before we can help you must tell the straight story.

  • When installing Windows 7 on my mac through bootcamp, it always freezes at "Completing Installation"

When I try to install windows 7 on my mac, it always freezes at "Completing Installation".  Does anyone know a fix for this?

    Got it!
After posting my question I noticed the "More like this" category and the second discussion was a hit.
    https://discussions.apple.com/message/11290644#11290644
It was a display driver. All I needed to do was to boot from the CD again and following the directions in the post.
    Worked like a charm.

  • After upgrading to Mavericks on my Mac Pro, mail always requires that I type in my password when launching. How do I change that?

After upgrading to Mavericks on my Mac Pro, mail always requires that I type in my password when launching. How do I change that?

If your password is accepted, and Mail connects to the account, but you're prompted for the password repeatedly, take each of the following steps that you haven't already tried. Note: these steps don't apply if the server rejects the password. That's a different problem.
    Step 1
When prompted for the password, check the box marked Remember this password in my keychain.
    Step 2
Check that the keychain is working.
    Step 3
Check that the default keychain is unlocked.

Sounds like your phone has the jitters.
This is sometimes caused when a DLL fle is missing when you restore, so the ipsw pacakge wasn't installed corectly.
You could back up and restore, but if it doesn't help go to http://www.felixbruns.de/iPod/firmware/ and then download the same firmware your on.
Open up iTunes and hold Shift+Restore and select that firmware, you can't use anoy ther firmwares though.
    Hope this helped

  • Mail is freezing up on 1 email (that I've already deleted from my gmail)

    The Situation:
I have mac mail set up to send/recieve from my gmail account. Usually it's all been working fine.
    Problem:
Someone sent me 40 emails with a 20MB attachment in each email. Mac Mail now tries to download the messages but freezes up. I went into gmail and deleted the messages with the attachments. but Mac Mail still freezes whenever I try to get new mail from my gmail.
I've already used the "get account info" to delete messages from the server. Mail is just **** bent on pull these "unpullable" messages from my gmail account.
    What do I do?

Yes I've restarted everything a few things..!
It's like Mac Mail has the large messages (or whatever it is that is clogging up the pipeline) cached somewhere and can't remove it from the stream. I'd delete the gmail mailbox from Mac Mail if that would fix it, but I am afraid I'll loose all my mail.
    Thanks 2point5 !

  • IPad mail app freezing, need help

I've experienced my Mail app freezing twice in last two weeks in the middle of writing a mesage. I can't save it as a draft nor can send it, can't move to another folder. But if I leave the Mail app and go to gmail app it works. Anyone knows what's happening?
Thank you in forward for your help!

Have you tried the simple basic things?
Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
Quit the mail app and restart.Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button.Quit/close open apps by double tapping the home button and the task bar will appear with all of you recent/open apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner to close the apps. Restart the iPad. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
It is possible that you have an email in your inbox or trash folder that is causing the problem as well. Maybe an email with large attachment? If you have an email like that - try deleting it from the iPad. You may need to do that from the server in your webmail using a web browser if the mail app keeps frezzing on you.

  • Loathe iTunes...always freezing!

I absolutely hate iTunes! I've never been able to smoothly run the darn program, EVER! It always freezes on the first try, and it takes at least 3 tries to get it going without freezing and sometimes still doesn't recognize my iPod is even connected. I've tried uninstalling/reinstalling/updating/starting without iPod connected, etc, etc...
I have no problems with any other programs, my PC is rather new (Windows 7, up to date).
I try to use other media programs when I can (MusicBee, WMP, etc), because iTunes is so frustrating. Really, they need to think of a better way to do this, scrap the whole program altogether and start over.  And make it more user friendly while they're at it, because iTunes is anything BUT.
Until they start listening to their users and we're all forced to endure this crap program, does anyone have any suggestions on how to make it at least stop freezing up????

same thing happens to me. I use a shuffle and i-tunes only seems to open when it wants to.

  • Mail always being sent from first account

When I click "reply", my mail always goes out from my eathlink account, even if the original email came in on my website account. I have to manually change it, to have it go out from website account.
How can I set the default so all my mails now are sent from my web account automatically?
    Thanks

    Hello Mimi.
Have you created and are accessing your website email account as a separate email account in Mail or are you forwarding messages received by your website email account to your Earthlink email account?
If you are accessing your website email account as a separate email account in Mail, when hitting reply for a message received by your website email account, the website email account should be used by default as the sending email account.
With all Mail.app versions prior to Tiger Mail, there is not a default email account selection used when selecting New to compose a new message.
When selecting New to compose a new message with Jaguar or Panther Mail, the default email account used is based on the current mailbox selected in the Mailboxes drawer. If you have your website email account's Inbox or Sent mailbox selected in the mailboxes drawer when selecting New to compose a new message, the website email account will be chosen as the sending email account automatically.
When "In" or "Sent" or a user created "On My Mac" mailbox is selected in the mailboxes drawer (without an account's mailbox selected), the default account used when selecting New to compose a new message is the first account listed in the Account's pane or list at Mail > Preferences > Accounts. If you are accessing multiple/separate accounts in Mail, you can select/drag the chosen account in the Account's pane or list to the top of the list to be listed first.
Tiger Mail includes a default "Send new mail from" account selection preference when selecting New to compose a new message regardless which mailbox is selected in the Mailboxes drawer but when selecting reply or forward for a message received by an email account, the default account used is the account the message was received by.

  • Mail always "auto" opens

After (re-) starting my MacAir Mail always opens automatically. I don't want this. What to do? Thanks

Have you installed anything that uses Mail? This could be caused, for example, by a widget checking to see if you have new messages.
