Mail and iCal Schedule Send
Is there a way, besides using Mail Scripts, to schedule-send an email message. I say Mail and iCal because there was no place for Mail problems that I saw in the forum, and this has to do with iCal, so, why not question here? Thanks.

Mail and iCal not launching?
Hello,
I have a fairly new Macbook Pro (purchased in February of this year). I've not had any issues with it up till now, but in the past few days I've been having trouble with the Mail and iCal apps. Neither will launch, at all. When I click on the icons, they bounce, but then do not continue to open. I think it started after an aborted attempt to install the most recent update, but I can't swear to that. I can't say I've done anything to fix it, beyond restarting the computer. There's no error message; the application simply does not start.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
CheersNo Mail plugins.... I'll check for disk corruption and do a safe boot later.
I turned off the auto check mail to manual and now I can open application. But Every time I click GET MAIL, it crashes.
I think it make have something to do with RSS feed. I deleted it to prevent it from checking. But it still resides in MAILBOX>GET NEW MAIL>RSS. When I choose it, it crashes.
When I choose my personal mailboxes, it won't do anything. I can send mail but can't receive. Then when I force to check all mailboxes, it crashes.
I believe it's something wrong in the system folder. When boot it ROOT, I tried to create a new account in mail and something is corrupted. Clicking the FINISHED button won't close the window but everytime I click it, it creates a new account with a weird name.
It could be the iSync and/or RSS, issue. -
How to get rid of automatically created Mail and iCal accounts on client?
I have recently setup an OS X 10.6 Server for our small office. I got the domain name wrong in the initial install and fixed this by doing a complete clean reinstall of OS X 10.6 server (now upgraded to 10.6.4).
The problem is that one of the OS X 10.6.4 clients had been setup to talk to the server prior to the rebuild. Now on this client, I cannot work out how to get rid of or change the automatically created server accounts in iCal and Mail - everytime you login, these are recreated using the old domain name (and of course don't work).
In Mail if you remove the server account (from Accounts in Preferences), it just pops back again. I even removed every trace of the old domain name from the apple.com.mail.plist file but when I re-open Mail that darned server account (with the old domain name) just pops up again.
In iCal its slightly different in that you can remove the account and it stays away while you have iCal open. But as soon as you close and re-open it, that server account just pops up again!
I thought it might be something to do with Kerberos and found a Kerberos file on the client which had the old domain name throughout it - I changed all these references to the new domain name, but still the same behaviour in Mail and iCal.
This is doing my head in. Any ideas?I have the same problem. Every time that I open iCal on the client a new account is created and an error message shown that I cannot login. I can delete the wrong account in the iCal preferences. However, as soon as I restart, the account and the error message are back.
How do I "unbind" and "rebind" a client? I searched the "Mac OS X Server
Open Directory Administration Version 10.6 Snow Leopard" but the only reference to "binding" seems to be in the context of Active Directory which I don't have.
Any help is greatly appreciated. -

Simultaneous Mail and iCal problems - iCal shows old to-dos
I was getting ready for my weekly backup, so I ran all the cleaning activities in OnyX. Then when I logged in after the restart, Quicksilver crashed on me 3 times in a row and acted as if I was installing it for the first time. I did not, however, have to completely reset Quicksilver. It did remember most of my settings.
Once I dealt with Quicksilver, I launched SuperDuper for the back up. SuperDuper, however, asked me to register the software. I've had to re-enter license numbers for other products, so I didn't think much of it. I launched Mail to find the message with my registration info, and that's when I started freaking out.
Mail and iCal launched simultaneously even though I clearly selected just Mail in Quicksilver. Mail displayed the welcome screen and asked me to set up a new account. iCal displayed about 30 alarms dating from early 2006 to today (9/22/2007). It also asked me if I wanted to changed the time zone setting in iCal to match the change on the computer. My calendars seemed in tact in iCal, but my to-do list is completely outdated. I now have old action items dating back to 8/2006.
After several other trouble shooting steps detailed in another post (http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1145401), Mail opened up by itself (no iCal) and all my accounts and messages were there.
iCal, however, still has all the old to-do items.
Does anyone know or have any idea why this happened and how I can fix the to-do list?
Thanks! No problem with Calendar but Mail keeps syncing with the server. The activity window is full all the time - apparently re-syncing though no new mail is downloaded. Rang in but they have no idea what's causing it and have sent diagnostic to engineers. In 10.8, just a quick burst of activity when mail was checked for but now it's constant. As a result, emptying the Deleted Items mailbox is very slow. Am worried about the amount of bandwidth being eaten up.

Mail and iCal are constantly synicing with OS X Mavericks
Ever since I downloaded OS X Mavericks, Mail and iCal are constantly syncing messages and appointments as long as the programs are open. I'm receiving notices about appointments that are years old. What's more, it doesn't seem to stop when I close the laptop, so it drains my battery as well. How do I make it stop??

Question on Mail and iCal in Leopard
To those of you using Mail and iCal in Leopard...
What do you think of the new features? How does it handle things such as meeting invites and tasks?
I'm trying to determine whether or not to upgrade, and this is the determining factor. I have yet to find "professional" mail/calendar/task manager program for my Mac that makes doing business with Outlook users, easy (Entourage is terrible...)

As a consultant who runs around all day, I rely heavily on iCal, plus I use it to do my billing at the end of the month.
I find the new Leopard iCal, which I just upgraded to a couple days ago, to require lots more mousing. I don't like that at all. I prefer the info drawer of Tiger's iCal. I have to click like three times to get to where I can edit the name or note of an appointment. I'm currently planning to read the instructions (gasp!) to see if there are any useful shortcuts for those of us who are carpal-tunnelly challenged.
I don't use invitations or tasks, so I can't address that. Just the standard events.
I do love the way iCal and Address Book integrate with my iPhone. I dumped my Treo and have never looked back. -

I'm having the exact same problem on my iMac. I can receive email from imap.mail.yahoo.com, but cannot receive from smtp.mail.yahoo.com. I have not changed these settings in years and as of a few days ago they stopped working. These settings work fine on my iPhone and iPad.
So far I have:
-Deleted accounts and reestablished them
-Deleted the Mail preference file ->com.apple.mail.plist -
Mail and iCal no longer syncing To Dos
I have been an avid user of the 'To Do' functionality in Mail and iCal for several years now. For some reason, they have recently stopped working together. I can create new 'To Dos' in Mail, but they do not show up in iCal. Similarly, I can edit 'To Dos' that were previously created in Mail (and still visible in iCal), but the changes do not propagate. I can, however, manually add new To Dos in iCal just fine.
I am saving all my 'To Dos' to the 'On My Mac' account, and they show up fine in Mail. I have tried changing the calendar the events are associated with to no effect. Indeed, I have even created new calendars to add 'To Dos' to in case that worked, but it has not. If I ask Mail to reveal in iCal, it shows iCal alright, but not the new To Do. Similarly, if I ask iCal to 'Show in Mail' of an old event, it will pull up Mail, but not the right event.
Any idea what might have broken the link between Mail and iCal? This has been going on for a while, not sure if before or after the upgrade to 10.5.7, unfortunately. Also, I ran 'Busy Mac' for a while, but turned it off several months ago once Google sported proper CalDAV integration, and things were working fine.

Mail and iCal doesn't work after restart
Hello, after rebooting my Macbook Air I can't use Mail and iCal, which is starting automatically in the background. Please help me. Thanks
Try these things:
First, restart the computer, test. If the problem persists:
Test in a new user; if the problem persists, reinstall your OS (boot up the computer holding "option". Click Recovery HD, then click "reinstall Mac OS X". This will not delete your data, but I'd recommend a backup beforehand anyway, just in case). You can also click "Disk Utility" in the Recovery HD, and attempt to repair your boot disk (Macintosh HD), and restart and test before reinstalling.
If the problem does not happen in a new user, try pulling the preference lists for the two programs. You can find these by clicking Finder, going to the Go menu, hold option and click Library. Click Preferences, then scroll down to "com.apple.mail.plist" and "com.apple.ical.plist". There should be a few of each, pull these to the trash. Restart and test. If the problem still happens:
Safe boot the computer by starting up holding Shift. Test. If the problem still happens, there is some interference from a third-party program, and you might need to disable or uninstall it. You can disable third-party items on startup by going to Apple menu>System Preferences>Users and Groups, then clicking "login items", and removing (not un-checking) the third-party programs from the list. I'd remove anything that isn't absolutely necessary to start up when the computer launches. Note: This does not delete or uninstall a program, but only prevents it from opening when the computer first boots up.
Restart and test.
If the problem still happens, reply and list the steps you have done.
Good luck! -
Mail and iCal are creating zombies...
Earlier this week I had to do a complete rebuild of my MacOX Leopard system when
my MBP refused to boot, ditto with the backup and an "Archive and Restore" crashed
with a buffer overflow error.
With the new system installed and updated to 10.5.5 I have noticed that Mail
is generating "Zombies". The zombies are the procs named AddressBookSync
in the ps listing.
I have seen more than one of these creatures in the ps listing.
ICal is also creating zombies, the proc is named iCalExternalSync.
A zombie is a process that has terminated and whose final status has
not been harvested by it parent...
It might be the case that Mail and iCal will utimately reap their
dead children...
Does anyone know the scoop on these puppies?
Thanks,
JerryNo problem with Calendar but Mail keeps syncing with the server.

Mail and iCal Syncing Headaches
I do not have a .Mac account. So I can't figure out why I have to wait for what can amount to twenty seconds or so each time I launch Mail while it goes through what it says is: "Registering syncing prefs with .Mac." Mail often won't display a message or let me create a new one, and will not quit until it finally decides there's nothing to sync with. It's a pain in the a**.
On a similar note, even if I don't create any new entries or make any changes, but just to look at my calendar, iCal wants to sync with SOMETHING before IT will quit.
These issues, of course, aren't new. They've been happening all along. And that's why I'm puzzled as to why my Mac isn't smart enough to know that there's nothing to sync with. There should at least be an OPTION to turn syncing OFF. Completely. Egad, I hate to say it, but it's almost as annoying as some Windows issues.
Anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks.Hi BDAqua and Carolyn...
My OS X came configured with the .Mac preference pane in System Preferences beginning with whatever release of OS X offered it, but I did not subscribe to it, as I had no need. However, Mail and iCal had been attempting to sync from day one. Never knowing why, it eventually began to annoy me. So much so, that at one point, I removed the .Mac preference pane - AND every file I could find related to .Mac - but the attempt by Mail and iCal to sync persisted (I don't have iDisk or, at least, it's not in my Applications folder).
What makes this annoying is that while Mail attempts to sync, it prevents me from switching mailboxes and displaying or composing a message. iCal just sits there. I can't even hide iCal while it needlessly churns away.
I put the .Mac preference pane back where it belonged earlier this year and subscribed ONLY for the purpose of transferring files from my G4 dekstop to my MacBook, as instructed by an Apple support person. I've since discovered on my own that I could have done the transfer much more simply and quickly using a firewire cable; thank you, Apple support person.) Once the transfer was completed, I made sure to turn any and all syncing preferences off, and I've let my .Mac account expire. But my username and password remained in the .Mac preference pane, until I just now deleted them, at Carolyn's suggestion. Prior to doing that, the .Mac preference pane confirmed that my account had expired 206 days ago.
Before beginning this paragraph, I launched iCal and moved an item from yesterday to day and then Quit. iCal still spent a few seconds attempting to sync (perhaps to the phases of the moon, or the Fall TV season, I don't know). However, Mail - upon launching at this point - seems to only check the appropriate servers. I did see the syncing message, but only for a split second.
Am I to believe that even though my .Mac account had expired long ago, just the fact that my username and password remained in the preference pane was enough for these applications to continue sync attempts? That would seem odd to me; since 1986 my Macs have been smarter than that.
Thank you both, BDAqua and Carolyn, very much. I'll wait just a while before I call this problem... err, annoyance solved.
UPDATE: Just before beginning THIS note, I launched Mail again, and it still attempted to "Register syncing prefs with .Mac," but only for a couple of seconds. I just don't understand.
But, thanks again. -
Problem: Mail and iCal dates all appear the same
Hi,
I'm trying to solve a problem with Mail and iCal on a 13" MacBook [latest "unibody" plastic model] of a friend. The MacBook is running Snow Leopard and is up to date.
The problem is that all the dates of sent and received E-mail messages appear the same. They are all set to the 14th of august. I've tried to recompile Mail's database and also extracted all the Mbox files and then imported them again as if they came from another machine. Nevertheless all the dates stay the same. All new incoming mail is also set to this specific date and time.
The problem appears to have propagated to iCal as well. I can't yet tell if it's the same timestamp as in Mail because I haven't been able to check the machine since I've only tried to solve the issue when it was still only in Mail.
The only solution I haven't tried yet is to make a full Time Machine backup, reïnstall Snow Leopard, and then recover from the Time Machine backup. This might help but maybe someone here knows a quicker way!
If anyone has a suggestion or maybe even a solution it would be truly appreciated!
Thanks in Advance,
ArnoutUpdate
Today I received a message from another friend who is experiencing the exact same problem. The dates of some existing mails and every new mail that is sent or received is set to 10 October 2010. This time it concerns a brand new 15" Core i5 MacBook Pro, also with an up to date version of Snow Leopard.
IMPORTANT:
Concerning the software: in both cases I transferred E-mail from an old Windows machine to Mail using Outlook2Mail from LittleMachines. I now believe that this has something to do with the problem experienced on both laptops.
Again, thanks for any help. -

DanteHey dantefav77,
Welcome to the BlackBerry Support Community Forums.
Thanks for the question.
Do you get a red X or a specific error message when sending out emails? Also what type of email account are you using on the BlackBerry Z10?
How often do you lose the connection with iCal and sending?
I look forward to your reply.
Cheers.
