Mail and Password problem

I am trying to use Mail on a MacBookPro with Lion. My wife uses it successfully on her iMac using Snow Leopard. I use it (sometimes) on my iMac also using snow Leopard. When I open Mail in Lion it asks for her password which is different from mine and if i use it, it shows me all her mail, which I don't care about. I use other e-mail apps on my two computers so I can live without Mail if i have to. Is there a solution to this problem?

So, to get this right: On the MacBook Pro you have set up ONE account in Mail.app - YOUR account. And despite that it happens from time to time that Mail asks you for the password of a totally different E-Mail account - the one from your wife? And your wife's account is not set up in Mail.app.
Everthing correct?
Is your wife's account set up on different E-Mail applications on that MacBook Pro? Is she using this laptop as well, and if yes, is she using the same login account to the computer for this?

You would really have to ask the app developer if there is a way to export the data.
As for adding a printer, you would need to purchase an AirPrint compatible printer and connect it to your wireless network.

You might try the following steps:
Restart the device by holding down the on/off button until the power down slider appears.
Try entering your password in another location (i.e. when you are using a different wifi network)
Reset all settings (settings > general > reset), this resets some of your settings to factory default. It’s not a complete removal of settings. It removes all of your preferences for Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Do No Disturb, Notifications, General, Sounds, Brightness & Wallpaper and Privacy. It does not remove any of your data.
Try signing out of iCloud and back in (only if find my phone is disabled)
If this doesn’t help your best option may be to contact Apple ID Support, upon speaking to an operator you should explain that your problem is related to your Apple ID, this way you will not be charged for assistance, even if you don’t have an AppleCare plan.

"Catch 22": new e-mail and password on iCloud

I'm in a "catch 22"-situation.
Background:
I am using iCloud on my mac, iPhone and iPad.
I changed my e-mail address and my password for my iCloud account.
I deleted the iCloud account on my iPhone and reentered the iCloud account with the new e-mail address and password without problems.
Problem:
I want to delete the iCloud account on my iPad as well, but I can't. In order to delete it, I have to type in the password to my previous iCloud account e-mail (which I changed to a new e-mail address). None of the passwords (neither the old one or the new one) works. I only have the option of using the old e-mail address as log on (the e-mail address field is grey and cannot be edited in the log-on pop-up window).
I have tried to change the e-mail address and password back to the previous status before I made the change, but it doesn't matter. Neither passwords work and I am not able to do anything with the e-mail address in the log-on window.
It seems that I am caught between a rock and a hard place. I probably should have deleted the iCloud account on my devices (iPhone and iPad) before I changed the e-mail and password for the iCloud account, but I didn't.... As I mentioned, it worked on the iPhone, but it does not work on the iPad.
Is there anyone capable of helping me out of this "catch 22"? I would be very grateful.

You need to switch of Find My iPhone with her Apple ID & password.
If you no longer have your iOS device
If you didn't follow the steps above before selling or giving away your iOS device:
Ask the new owner to erase all content and settings as described above.
If you're using iCloud and Find My iPhone on the device, you can erase the device remotely and remove it from your account by signing in to icloud.com/find, selecting the device, and clicking Erase. When the device has been erased, click Remove from Account. After you erase the device, you'll need to wait 24 hours before you can activate iMessage on your new device.
If you're unable to complete either of the above steps, you should change your Apple ID password. Changing your password won't remove any personal information that is cached on the device, but it will make sure that the new owner can't delete your information from iCloud.
Deregister iMessage if you're switching to a non-Apple phone.
If you're using Apple Pay, you can also remove your credit or debit cards at iCloud.com. Just choose Settings to see which devices are using Apple Pay, then click your device and click Remove next to Apple Pay.

I apologize, I'm a bit unclear on exactly what you are trying to log into with your Apple ID, or what exactly you are seeing (alert message, directions, etc) when you try to do so. Mail and iPhoto Problems with sending photos.
I have this problem that started a while ago and seems to be getting worse.
Here are the different scenarios.
-If I try to share a photo to email within iPhoto, it will insert the image file name in the mail message, but no image icon or opened image. In iPhoto Preferences under General I have chosen to use Email Photos using Mail.
-If I choose to use iPhoto to send the photo, it will compose the message and the photo is viewable. If I send the message i can view the photo within the email I sent to myself. Nothing happens when I double click on the photo in the Mail message. Nothing happens when i control click on the photo in the mail message. Nothing happens when I try to drag the photo to the desktop from the mail message. When I try to save attachments from the email and choose a place to save it, the save button is grayed out and it cannot be saved. When I check the mail message it says there is an attachemnt but there is no file size listed.
-If I use the stationary within Mail app I cannot drag a photo into the placeholder, I get a circle with a line through it symbol when I try. It happens if I try to drag a photo from the desktop or from the media browser within Mail app.
-If I drag the photo to the desktop from iPhoto, I can double click it on the desktop and it will open in Preview.
-If I then control click on the same photo on the desktop and scroll to share/email, the generic photo icon will be inserted in the mail message. If i double click the photo icon in the mail message I get a message it can't be opened because it is empty.
-If I drag that same image to the mail message body the same thing happens.
-If I send that email to someone they cannot open the image file.
What I can do:
- I can drag that same image file on the desktop to my dropbox folder and it will upload. From there I can go on my iPad and download the photo and send it through email just fine.
-I can open the same image file on my desktop in Preview, I can copy and paste it into a mail message and the image will be viewable in the mail message by me and by the recipient.
-I can drag that same image on the desktop to my safari browser window and it will be viewable in the page. i can then copy and paste that image into a mail message and it is viewable in the message. I can then send that email message to myself and i can control click on the image and get all my options. It also shows as an attachment with the size of the image file in the mail message.
I can send that message to someone and they can see the photo and open it fine.
-If I send that same email to me I can see the photo within the mail. If I then drag that photo to the desktop I cannot use it again to put in an email as the same problem happens again.
I have tried all scenarios in my user account, another users account and in a guest account. The same happens in all. I am guessing because of this it is not a corrupt preference file, unless all of the preference files are corrupt. The guest user account I added a new email account so it was brand new and still had the problem.
I am stumped, all and any help is appreciated.

Another problem that may be related….
I have Snapz Pro. I used to be able to save the snaps to my desktop or a folder. Now when I take a screenshot and try to save the file to my desktop or a folder on my desktop I get this message "Files cannot be created in the selected location. You do not have permission to write to the selected location. Please choose a different location." I have found that i can only save the file to the clipboard. I have repaired permissions many times and still I have this problem.

I am trying to link my PC to my Mac and Iphone and I pad. I can't use my Itunes account on my PC - when I try and enter Icloud on my computer i get a server error after I put in my e-mail and password.

I regret that you're having trouble setting up your email, corbad! You're on the right track with your incoming email address. You might also try incoming.verizon.net or incoming.yahoo.verizon.net as possible alternatives, and 995 as the port number. Please let me know how that goes!

Mail and Keychain Problem

I would like to refer to the problem of Mail asking multiple (50 plus) a day for the passwords for POP accounts. The question has been posted a couple of times here and a dozens of times in other forums. Nobody was able to give an answer. If nobody has an answer to a software problem, then it is normally called a bug.
The simple question to Apple: When will you fix this bug? It makes Mail basically unusable.

they all relate to exactly the same problem and they have been asked in the last 4-5 days in this forum and no solution has been offered. The last time I looked for an answer was 4 weeks ago and the ratio of asked questions (this question) and no answers was the same. I have seen this question in all other Mac user forums and no solution has been offered there as well. This has let me to the hypothesis, that it is a bug.
ok the details:
I have 5 POP accounts on my mac and one .Mac account. The .Mac never has a problem, but the POP accounts ask for the password randomly, sometimes twice a minute. This must happen when Mail checks with the respective mail server for new messages. The problem has popped up half a year ago, I believe when Tiger got introduced. We are five people in our office and everybody has this problem, at work and at home and with 6 different providers.
Even if you check the box, "Save password in Keychain" it happens again. You can avoid this by closing Mail and just opening it when you check for new mail every couple of hours, or you can hit the button "Connect to Internet" in Mail. If you are lucky all the POP accounts get downloaded.
I have tried the Keychain fixes, everything that got posted as possible fixes. Nothing worked.
Help would be appreciated.

Authentication: Kerberos V5
The problem: when I login on my client, a TGT is acquired normally, klist shows it, and if I launch Mail, mail get a imap service ticket and all works fine.
When my TGT expires, I cannot get a new TGT otherwise than a kinit, which is unacceptable for my users. Before, whith Snow Leopard or Leopard mail client, if no TGT was present on client, mail poped up a specific kerberos dialog box to ask the password and then get a new TGT and imap service ticket. It is anyway the actual behavior with others services as AFP for example.
I have try to create an user Launch Agent which make a kinit periodically, but when the Mac client get out of long sleep state, the TGT is expired and I have no way to launch my script at this moment.
To reproduce the problem with no ticket at sequence start:

No solution at this point. Now we are seeing the same problem trying to authenticate radius users. Extremely frustrating!

I'm wondering if it's trying to use the wrong auth mech at first. I see the user come in with a successful DIGEST-MD5 during the problem, then successful MS-CHAPv2 following the password reset. Resetting the user's password "fixes" the issue. Until it happens again at an unspecified time.

I have a bunch of Mac buddies in this area and every one of them has been complaining (that's not the real word they've used but want to keep it clean here) for weeks about this annoying Comcast password issue! My theory, just a theory, is that Comcast's recent webmail upgrade (have you seen that yet? Pretty nice, actually!) meant some reconfiguring of things "under the hood" there....and that's been causing problems for us Mac users. However, the Windows users I know have been largely unbothered by this password problem.
This is one reason I 've set up a Gmail account for myself as a backup. But I'd like to add my voice to the many others who've posted here, asking Apple to use its influence to get Comcast, the biggest ISP out there, to fix this Mac issue!

I am sure many on here have been having the Password Authentication pop-up window come up on their Macs. I like others called both Apple and Comcast about this issue with each company pointing the "finger" to the other guy. Yesterday I called Comcast again about this annoying problem since the pop-ups started happening again. For the first time ever I had a tech guy admit that Comcast is aware of this problem and they are working on it. Actually he said they have been working on it for quite some time now. What he did as a possible fix, that he said worked for others, is to change my password in the system and then have me log in to my account and then I was able to change my password to what I wanted. Mail seemed to work for me after that. Today Mail is stable, but I won't be holding my breath.
