Mail App delete rules after a few time

Hi,
Every time i write a rule in Mail app, it disappear a few minutes after and only the default Apple rule keep living.
Someone have the same problem ?
Another icloud sync issue ?
Any fix ?
Thanks.

This started happening to me only recently.  Same hardware, no OS update - most obvious thing I'd changed recently is that I'd gone from having one (enabled) mail account to two.  Previously it was just one Exchange account, and the new account is a Google IMAP account.  I'm going to test to see if the problem goes away when I disable *either* of them (suggesting the problem is in how Mail.app handles multiple enabled accounts) or if I must specifically disable the Google IMAP account (suggesting the problem is specifically in how Mail.app handles Google and/or IMAP).

  • Mail.app Search "Clearing" After a few Seconds

When I go to search for something inside Mail, I can usually find something just fine, but after a few seconds, Mail's search filter "clears" and the mailbox view goes back to unfiltered list.  This is especially aggravating when reading a message thread in the filtered results, as it will take you from your view of the thread while reading.  I am about at my wits end...
Has anyone seen this before?  Any tips on how I might resolve this?

  • Searching in Mail.app: results lost after a few seconds

    Mail.app  (Version 7.3 (1878.2))
Anyone finding that sometimes searching in Mail.app loses the results after a few seconds?
Suppose I'm in my Inbox and I want to search. I type in a search term, the results will appear as expected, but then after a few seconds – without doing anything – the search results are replaced by my Inbox again.
The work around is simply to retype the search term.
(I've already reindexed my hard disk.)
    Best wishes, Jon

  • Mail.app and rules...

Since upgrading from 10.4.11 to 10.5.6 I've had random issues with mail.app.
Rules have been an issue since upgrading. Application of rules was more or less OK, except for one set of messages that apparently the new mail.app couldn't/wouldn't filter, even when I deleted the old imported rule and created a new one. :-/
Today I find that mail.app has decided to stop applying all rules. If I select a single message and choose Apply Rules from the Message menu, it gets filtered as desired, except the messages mentioned above which still are not filtered.
Did I forget to buy the special superSecret, available only by special invitation from you know who, iDecoderRing?
Hints? Tips? No, I'm not interested in going to Thunderbird, at least not yet. I use it elsewhere and like it, but...
    Thanks,

How many condition entries do you have in the failing rule(s)? How many rules do you have? I have found that if a rule got too big I started seeing inconsistent execution - in this case auto-move of incoming mail based upon sending email address. Don't ask me how big is too big - I didn't capture that info, maybe 25+. I did find that reducing the number of entries within a rule once that rule became problematic did no good. I had to delete the offending rule and add a new (smaller) rule. The inconsistent auto-move behavior I was seeing went away when I had a smaller number of smaller rules.
But now I'm seeing a different rule problem
I have set up four rules to change each mail entry's color based upon its age. Same inconsistent behavior as above - but I can't trace it to running mail.app continuously for days or anything like that. I reboot/restart my MBP at least 1X/day. It appears that the rules engine simply get "lazy" after some unknown time period until it gets woken up by going to Message > Apply Rules. The "lazy" behavior is that it only executes the first active rule rather than all active rules.

  • How can I automatically open Mail.app message attachments after downloading

The subject says it all, I think.
    My wish #1
Automatically Opening Mail.app message attachments after downloading
    My Wish #2
At least having the Finder automatically default to the folder I just downloaded to after completing the download.
Is this an option in Leopard, at least?

Very clever. But unfortunately that doesn't seem to work in Tiger.
Then again, I stil presume that when you do that, a ile is still downloaded and appears somewhere on your hard drive. If you "save as" the file opened by preview, you probably still need to go back to the place where the file was saved and delete it.
Then again again, if Preview is peeking into a Word or Excel attachment, it may not actually be "downloading it" first?? Strange. If it was a jpg file attachment, on the other hand, it seems more likely that some sort of file would be downloaded to the hard drive as a result of that drag and drop of the paper clip.
I did find that drag and drop capability interesting, though. Even in Tiger.
Oh well. I have to start looking at scripts.
When I downloaded that Automator application that was supposed to "close all open applications", I was surprised that it didn't work. Says it works with TIger. ???
    http://www.apple.com/downloads/macosx/automator/
Was I supposed to import it into Automator as an "action" and save it as an Automator application and then open Automator and click "run" for that action each time I wanted to use it? Seams a bit cumbersome.

  • Anything that I copy on my desktop gets deleted automatically after a few seconds. Any idea what is going on ?

I have a problem with my MBP.
One day something weird started happening. Every time I would copy / save / download something on my desktop it got deleted automatically after a few seconds. On very very rare occasions this would not happen.
This has been going on for 3 months now and I haven't found any sollution. The last option is to format and reinstall Lion but I hope there is a faster/better solution than that.
    I have a 2011 15-inch MBP with the up-to-date Mac OS X Lion.

Please read this whole message before doing anything.
This procedure is a diagnostic test. It won’t solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
Third-party system modifications are a common cause of usability problems. By a “system modification,” I mean software that affects the operation of other software -- potentially for the worse. The following procedure will help identify which such modifications you've installed. Don’t be alarmed by the complexity of these instructions -- they’re easy to carry out and won’t change anything on your Mac.
These steps are to be taken while booted in “normal” mode, not in safe mode. If you’re now running in safe mode, reboot as usual before continuing.
Below are four lines of text in monospaced type, which are UNIX shell commands. They’re harmless, but they must be entered exactly as given in order to work. If you have doubts about the safety of running these commands, search this site for other discussions in which they’ve been used without any report of ill effects.
Some of the commands will line-wrap in your browser, but each one is really just a single long line, all of which must be selected. You can accomplish this easily by triple-clicking anywhere in the line. The whole line will highlight, and you can then either copy or drag it. The headings “Step 1” and so on are not part of the commands.
Note: If you have more than one user account, Step 2 must be taken as an administrator. Ordinarily that would be the user created automatically when you booted the system for the first time. The other steps should be taken as the user who has the problem, if different. Most personal Macs have only one user, and in that case this paragraph doesn’t apply.
To begin, launch the Terminal application; e.g., by entering the first few letters of its name in a Spotlight search. A text window will open with a line already in it, ending either in a dollar sign (“$”) or a percent sign (“%”). If you get the percent sign, enter “sh” and press return. You should then get a new line ending in a dollar sign.
    Step 1
Copy or drag -- do not type -- the line below into the Terminal window, then press return:
    kextstat -kl | awk ' !/com\.apple/ { print $6 $7 } '
Post the lines of output (if any) that appear below what you just entered (the text, please, not a screenshot.)
    Step 2
    Repeat with this line:
    sudo launchctl list | sed 1d | awk ' !/0x|apple|com\.vix|edu\.|org\./ { print $3 } '
This time, you'll be prompted for your login password, which won't be displayed when you type it. You may get a one-time warning not to screw up. You don't need to post the warning.
    Step 3
    launchctl list | sed 1d | awk ' !/0x|apple|edu\.|org\./ { print $3 } '
    Step 4
    ls -1A {,/}Library/{Ad,Compon,Ex,Fram,In,La,Mail/Bu,P*P,Priv,Qu,Scripti,Servi,Sta}* 2> /dev/null
Important: If you synchronize with a MobileMe account, your me.com email address may appear in the output of the above command. If so, change it to something like “[email protected]” before posting.
Remember, steps 1-4 are all drag-and-drop or copy-and-paste, whichever you prefer -- no typing, except your password.
    You can then quit Terminal.

“Mail” application "closes unexpectedly" after a few seconds.
I use "Mail 1.3.11" to hnadle my e-mail. It works fine.
This weekend, due to a problem with an address, the server of my University has delivered more than 1000 messages to my account.
When I have opened "Mail 1.3.11" those messages have begun to enter into the "in" mail box. I have stoped it but anyway a good quantity of them have entered.
I have already solved the server issue but now that I want to empty those messages from "Mail 1.3.11" I cannot since the application "closes unexpectedly" a few seconds after opening it without letting me do anything.
How could I open and kept open my "Mail 1.3.11" until I am able to clean it?
    Thank you,

  • Apps shut down after a few seconds, apps shut down after a few seconds

Hi. I have an iPhone 4S running iOS5.1.1. Since the update, all of my apps, including messeges and email, close after a few seconds. I can't send messages, or use any of the apps. I have reformatted the device several times, and also done a fresh install as a new user. I still have the same problem. Can anyone give me suggestions?

Thanks. Tried this and still not working. I can't even send a lengthy sms or email, as EVERY app shuts down after a few seconds. Sometimes it even fails to launch. The battery life is less than 4 hours, even after turning off 3G, wi-fi, bluetooth and cellular data.
It must be a hardware problem, as the phone gets extremely hot as well.
Apple are far from helpful. Their customer service is dreadful, if you live outside of the States. No telephone or email support. Time to flush the phone and buy a Samsung Galaxy 3.

  • Adobe audition cc crashes after a few times of recording(please help)

Okay so Adobe audition is incredibly useful or should i say WAS... It was great until one day it just crashed after a few times of recording. I just thought maybe something went wrong whatever ill re do it. But no.. for months ive been trying, uninstalling and reinstalling, updating, closing all other programs running but nothing has seemed to do it. Audition is really important to my music career and lately i havent been able to do anything because it doesnt work. Im begging, can someone PLEASE try to help me, im desperate.
heres a pic of what happens when it crashes:

I notice from the picture that you have four files in the middle of processing. Do you remember what they were doingwhen the crash happened? Were they saving or did you have some effects processing going on?
Also either Audition or Windows may have saved a crash report somewhere which could help to diagnose the problem. I am not sure where they may have been saved but others might remember where to look for them.

Knock on wood, this seems to have been my problem as well.  I stumbled on this thread after dealing with this ridiculously-long boot times for the past several weeks.
I just reinstalled McAfee Antivirus and my Macbook Air booted up in less than 1 minute.  No more hanging on the boot-up progress bar.  No more hanging after I click on my user's avatar on the log-in screen.  Bootup would often take 5+ minutes and sometimes never complete.
    This has been SUPREMELY frustrating.
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR POSTING YOUR RESPONSE!!!

  • Mail.app and rules, again

    Hi,
I still have the same problem, and I can see that I'm not the only one that is experiencing rule issues. For me the mail rules stop working automatically after mail has been open for a few days, but if I "Apply Rules" to individual messages they work fine. Except for one that refuses to move the message to the designated folder. I know the rule is being executed because I have it change the color of the text, and that is working, just not the move. I also noticed that if I select all the new mail and "Apply Rules" none of the rules seem to be applied.
Finally, is there any way to tell mail to apply the rules to the inbox without selecting the individual messages? That would be very useful when mail "forgets" to apply the rules to incoming mail.
This is very frustrating. Before I upgraded to Leopard I had no problems at all with mail.app.
Any suggestions would be gratefully accepted...
