Mail app doesnt open pdf files (iPhone5 & ios 7.0.4)

Hello,
our CEO can´t open pdf files from email attachments on his iPhone 5 on ios 7.0.4.
Normal behaviour:
Usually the mail app opens the pdf from the email and you can scroll through the pages and everything is okay.
Error description:
But in our case when tipping on the pdf icon at the bottom of an email, the mail app just jumps to the top of the email and nothing else happens.
After doing this two or three times, the icon changes to a picture showing the first page of the file. Tipping on the picture opens the known "save picture" menu.
Solutions I tried:
- Holding the thumb on the pdf icon does nothing.
- After forwarding the email to another ios device (verified with iPhone and iPad) the pdf file can be viewed without problems.
- Restart (holding top and home button)
- I read in a community that the app "Stanza" can cause the problem. Check: It has never been installed on the device.
Solutions I didn´t try:
- Recovery from an iTunes backup. (As i read, this doesn´t solve the problem.)
- Recovery without an iTunes backup. (As i read, this will solve the problem (-no surprise). But this is no valid solution for our CEO.)
Question:
Does anybody know the problem and a constructive solution? Thank you very much!

The error is occuring with every pdf file attached to an email.
I know, you don´t need 3rd party software. That´s why I posted this as a problem to the community.

I'm not very technical savey and won't pretend to be, but am very confused as to why they opened just fine before the update and now won't open at all.

Can't open pdf files on IOS 7

Since the upgrade to IOS 7, I can't open PDF FILES. They download all right, but I only see like a pic. I can't open, can't save to pdf, can't see it. Can't nothing. Any help?

I have just downloaded Adobe reader on to ipad 2. I tried opening a Pdf in ibooks and then Adobe reader. I can only get the introductory pages. I can open the full dcument using adobe reader on my Mac?
It is one of those rare occasions where Apple comes off badly against microsoft. Opening a pdf attachment using windows is a doddle. Opening a pdf document on my mac seems to require me to save the document first - clunky to say the least, opening a pdf on ipad - impossible! All in all pretty rubbish. Can't believe they don't have something like this nailed.

App to open PDF files in Iphone3GS

I used to have an app, but recently updated IOS and done restore of my phone and lost the app.
I installed FOXIT PDF, PDF Reader, Google play books but not able to find the open the uploaded pdf files in the phone.

This is probably a fault with the specific pdf file. If this is the case contact its creator. Can you download pdf files available on the Adobe website?

Cannot open pdf files in IOS 6

Cannot save a pdf file since I upgraded to IOS 6. When I choose the open option (top right arrow) a empty screen pops up with no option to open in Ibooks or other readers

I have a similar problem. I upgraded to IOS 6.0 then during the first sync my 500+ .pdf files were deleted from my device and will not sync back.
Stangely, I tried syncing the pdf files to my iPhone 4S to see if this was an IOS 6 issue, but that works fine - although with my non-retina eyes I can't read them :-S.
I've tried restoring the iPad (twice), unselecting books for sync, then reselcting and resyncing but no joy.
I have sent a couple of pdfs to my Kindle account and that works okay, but I don't want to have to send 500 pdfs to Kindle!
Anyone else having the same issue?

Preview shows as the only app to open PDF Files

I was able to change existing pdf files on my mac to be opened with acrobat by changing the get info -> open with screen but.... That only works for pdf files that are stored on my mac
If I go to a web site that has a doc in pdf format, clicking on it pops up the open window dialog (the one with the open with, downthem all, and save to disk options)
The scroll down window for open with only shows preview - is there anyway I can also have it show acrobat. Yes, I could download the file and then open it with acrobat - but it is a pain to always do that - btw, I am using Firefox

As far as I know, if the PDF Browser Plugin is used to view PDF's in the browser, there will be no physical copy of that file, on the Mac HD taking up space, unless you choose to Save the file.
Temporary files are just that, temporary.

Unable to open PDF files in messages since iOS 8.3 update

i updated my iPhone 6 to the iOS 8.3 update and unable to open PDF files with in the messages app ... I was able to do this prior to the update. Was the functionality taken away (still able to open jpg and ping files)?

I visited a "genius" in the Apple Store, Leicester, this morning. After some playing around he seems to have sorted it. Apparently - now they tell me! - you don't need Adobe Reader on Macs as the Mac has its own pdf reader built-in. Safari 5.1 is now clashing with Reader and the best approach is to remove Reader - and the relevent preference files. I took one of my MBPs into the store and am just checking it out to see if everything is now ok. I'm now planning to make the changes on my other machine and will report back. (The genius said that my best approach was to bring in the second MBP but I'm not very convenient to Leicester so I'm going to give it whirl myself.)
Wish me luck.
But why did we load Reader in the first place? Are we that unusual in the Mac community? Surely, others must have done the same and are having the same problem with Safari 5.1???

Reset the device did not help me but it does triggers me to attempt to resend the PDF file attachment on email--and it works the 2nd time. My problem is now solved.
The Adobe Reader is very helpful--it allows me to scroll through the document easily, unlike iBooks, where I cannot scroll straight up or down.

Mountain Lion not opening pdf files in Mail

Since installing ML I cannot open pdf files in Mail. I have updated Adobe Reader to the latest version, but no joy. I desperately need to open these files. Should I just give up and forward them to my wheezy old Sony running Windows XP?

Also having this issue and it's a bit of a headache especially when removing Acrobat reader is not an option, i prefer to actually have my PDF files open from Mail in Acrobat Professional (not reader). Tried re-installing, no dice.
